Comments

  1. Watched Bash at the Beach 94 earlier. I'd give Steamboat/Austin *****. How you can watch that match and not tell Austin was going to be a superstar, I'll never know.

    ReplyDelete
  2. I'd definitely purchase a NXT DVD set.

    ReplyDelete
  3. Solid weekend work, Bayless.

I just decided to watch bits of last weeks Raw, and man, the reaction to Reigns. Heyman does this pretty great promo building Reigns/Brock up, and then the Shield music hits and.... nothing. Literally nothing. Not kids screaming, not women going wild, not a handful of fans popping, just absolutely nothing. Man. Haven't watched since Fast Lane, didn't realise it was THAT bad now. Ooh and a ROMAN SUCKS chant just started up. Nice.

    ReplyDelete
  4. I wonder if that Big Show-Ryback match will be on the DVD?

    ReplyDelete
  5. So Fitta is back?

    ReplyDelete
  6. It was a smark town, just wait till they get to an arena where there aren't any.

    ReplyDelete
  7. We were chatting to a Kyle Pesci last night. Is that him?

    ReplyDelete
  8. Probably on the cover!

    ReplyDelete
  9. Such great disguises.

    ReplyDelete
  10. WrestleMania marathon is back on. Maybe this time I won't fall asleep.

    ReplyDelete
  11. If he chose a new first name he'd confuse himself I guess.

    ReplyDelete
  12. Someone lied to me and said NXT was free on Hulu...

    ReplyDelete
  13. Are you Kyle Fitta?
No, damnit, I'm clearly Kyle Rusconi. Stop asking me.
    Scott: It's Kyle Fitta.
So wait, are you him or not?
    Well yea, isn't it obvious

    ReplyDelete
  14. Did we ever find out what happened to Loser?

    ReplyDelete
  15. I don't think so? Hoss was mean to him and he left.

    ReplyDelete
  16. You better not choke that 7 point lead.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Did anyone see that rant Tommy Dreamer posted where he claimed that something like half a million people illegally downloaded his last iPPV, costing him millions of dollars? It was ridiculous even by Dreamer standards.

    ReplyDelete
  18. I look forward to his latest meltdown.

    ReplyDelete
  19. It's best not to think about Dreamer.

    ReplyDelete
  20. He found out that one site downloaded his show 66,000 times and multiplied it by 15. That is legit

    ReplyDelete
  21. Booting up Judgement Day 03 with the, dare I say it, dream feud between HHH and Nash.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Currently on FXX: The City of New York vs. Homer Simpson. First time I've seen this episode on TV since before 9/11

    ReplyDelete
  23. I've won 11 in a row. I'm good

    ReplyDelete
  24. https://twitter.com/kfabe101/status/574043505456185346

RF Video is doing a Rey shoot.

Ohhhh shit. Any of you guys heard about this?

    ReplyDelete
  25. I don't recall Fitta ever really interacting with anyone. He just kinda talked to himself. Really bizarre individual.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Bonzai won 19 in a row. Look how that turned out.

    ReplyDelete
  27. General Manager Austin. Yay?

    ReplyDelete
  28. Saw that last night. Should be a good one.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Someone mentioned it yesterday afternoon.

    ReplyDelete
  30. He also did one years ago.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Yeah, figured it wasn't breaking news or anything. Still, should be interesting, especially if he's legally free to say whatever he wants.

    ReplyDelete
  32. I got Zetterberg back but MacKinnon done for 6-8 weeks hurts a bit.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Before he debuted with WWE, I would assumed.

    ReplyDelete
  34. He only interacts when meltdowns are forthcoming.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Before he was in the WWE.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Just read the WWE power rankings. Yeah, I don't know why I did either. Roman Reigns is #1 after he just jobbed on Monday. Brock is #5. These people can't even leave their pettiness out of silly rankings.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Currently beating the best team in BoD Fantasy Hockey by 50 points. COME AT ME BROS!

    ReplyDelete
  38. I might order House of Hardcore Tonight. Never saw one before and the card doesnt sound horrible.

    ReplyDelete
  39. "Roman Reigns is #1 because we say so, dammit!"

    ReplyDelete
  40. Yeah, I'm destroying him this week.

    ReplyDelete
  41. Awesome. I love it! He was in here bragging about his fantasy supremacy and this would, if I'm not mistaken, be his second loss in a row?

    ReplyDelete
  42. Announcer Tazz always dressed as if he owned a casino that was nearing bankruptcy.

    ReplyDelete
  43. Injuries have beaten him pretty hard.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Speaking of, fuck you for picking up Vatanen.

    ReplyDelete
  45. He's been on an unstoppable role since winning the 2015 Royal Rumble!

    ReplyDelete
  46. Young Cena! FBI! Rhyno! Kendrick! Benoit!

Truly an assembly of Smackdown wrestlers in this opener!

    ReplyDelete
  47. Uh-oh, I've got more workers than I can properly defend from barbarians.

    A cruel mistress Civ is.

    ReplyDelete
  48. So much orange. It's like when Marge tried to keep on altering that Chanel suit.

    ReplyDelete
  49. Brian Kendrick appears to be wearing a shiny, green swimsuit.

    Terrible look.

    ReplyDelete
  50. Off to see Fozzy now! Will let you know if me and Y2J hook up

    ReplyDelete
  51. I remember saying I thought it was, but I don't think I said I knew for sure.

    ReplyDelete
  52. The dark blue sports coat with the giant shoulder pads that doesn't match anything else is bad too.

    ReplyDelete
  53. Jake is waaaaaaaaaaaaay lighter here

    ReplyDelete
  54. So Albert is the new head trainer . . .thoughts?

    ReplyDelete
  55. Sure, why not.

He's somebody that actually traveled and learned different styles.

    ReplyDelete
  56. Yeah stop doing the Kendick's dance in front of the cameras

    ReplyDelete
  57. Better pedigree than DeMott had at least.

    ReplyDelete
  58. Susan St. James on commentary was not a good idea, to say the least

    ReplyDelete
  59. Use protection if you do hook up.

    ReplyDelete
  60. Those 66,000 people ALL were not going to buy the show. He'd be lucky to have gotten an extra 5,000 or so. Also, Some guy posted statistics that said that the numbers Dreamer got were when the streams buffer it counts a very rough estimate and it was most likely way below that number.

    ReplyDelete
  61. I'm watching some 01 smackdown for my Saturday morning wrestling fix. They had Austin beat the shit of JR, Both Hardy boys and Lita, and have HHH trying to sell him as a heel and the fans DON'T GIVE A FUCK, he's the most over guy in the building by about 100 times.

    ReplyDelete
  62. No way that much people download his show

    ReplyDelete
  63. I'm kinda tempted for some reason as well. I wish I could watch them on my tv, though. Not a big fan of paying $15 to watch something on an ipad screen.

    ReplyDelete
  64. Scott Steiner and Test vs La Resistance

Truly a main event anywhere in the world.

    ReplyDelete
  65. It was a streaming site that he got the numbers from. VERY rough estimates.

    ReplyDelete
  66. Hey, that man trained Mojo Rawley from scratch!

    ReplyDelete
  67. He does have a couple wins over Cena under his belt. The same can't be said about DeMott!

    ReplyDelete
  68. Is Spike Dudley still alive?

    ReplyDelete
  69. Suddenly I feel so... HYPED!

    ReplyDelete
  70. Austin beating the shit out of random people and stunning people like Vince/JR when he was injured (or Vince/Stooges later) is what helped him get so damn over as a face in 97. I am shocked, SHOCKED, that doing the same thing again didn't turn him heel.

    ReplyDelete
  71. I forgot about the weird period where America hated France.

    Freedom Fries!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  72. He sacrificed those millions!

    ReplyDelete
  73. His body, yes, but his mind died long ago.

    ReplyDelete
  74. Don't forget about the great wrestler Titus O'Neil.

    ReplyDelete
  75. Lot of TNA guys on the card, he used his time there to his advantage i see

    ReplyDelete
  76. I don't remember much but from watching these two April 01 smackdowns it seems like Albert was pretty fucking cool to watch.

    ReplyDelete
  77. Rene Dupree punching somebody and immediately doing the French dance to celebrate never stops being funny.

    ReplyDelete
  78. and half of them thought it was going to be porn

    ReplyDelete
  79. Kane match!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  80. Just because some of those people were never going to buy it doesn't make non dick move.

    ReplyDelete
  81. He was always a solid tag team guy and carryable in singles. Whenever he had a character that wasn't just silent heel big man he seemed to have a bit of charisma as well.

    ReplyDelete
  82. Cena vs Orton,one more timeMarch 7, 2015 at 10:40 AM

The French president at the time openly criticized the Iraq War,which the Bush administration didn't take kindly to at all. There was definite tension between the two countries,I remember hearing slogans like "throw French wine down the gutter!"

    ReplyDelete
  83. Two easy games to finish, and if Bayless beats Jellystone I could care less how next week goes. I'm getting playoff ready now with a few IR guys scheduled back this month.

Okposo should be the one REALLY pissing the others off, he might be back for the start of the fantasy playoffs.

    ReplyDelete
  84. He's using the same math Stephanie did when she said the WWE has 50 million domestic fans and 10 million unique female viewers. Wrestling math.

    ReplyDelete
  85. you gonna post it on THE TWITTAAH?

    ReplyDelete
  86. Young Bucks vs Austin aries & Bobby Roode should be fun

    ReplyDelete
  87. Grenier is terrible. Who did he blow to get hired...oh yeah...

    ReplyDelete
  88. JR doing the sad puppy dog act to try and get Austin boos and then Austin basically beating his wife on TV. Still not a boo to be heard.

    ReplyDelete
  89. JR: Not nice, Austin.
Hardys and Lita: HE IS THE FACIEST FACE THAT EVER FACED!

-Teenage me. Modern me isn't far behind on that one.

    ReplyDelete
  90. Also see: Rookie Brock Lesnar.

    ReplyDelete
  91. Mr. America being interviewed by reporter Gregory Helms was entertaining.

    ReplyDelete
  92. And I fucked up could NOT care less.

    Sigh.

    ReplyDelete
  93. Josh Mathews rolling out the pink shirt, lensless glasses, frosted tips, hemp necklace look of ultimate early 2000s college student douchiness.

    ReplyDelete
  94. What the fuck? A random ladder match?

    ReplyDelete
  95. Clark O'BrienMarch 7, 2015 at 10:51 AM

Didn't work when he beat her at home either.

    ReplyDelete
  96. God, that match was such a fun and enjoyable slice of WHAT THE FUCK HOW IS THIS ANY GOOD.

    ReplyDelete
  97. It worked for a little while.

    ReplyDelete
  98. Benoit and Jericho vs Regal, Angle and E/C in handicap match. Wow that is one stacked fucking roster.

    ReplyDelete
  99. I'd like to see the NXT footage of the fans shitting all over Show and Ryback.

    ReplyDelete
  100. Jokes on the fans though because Big Show has 10 more years. :(

    ReplyDelete
  101. When did Benoit cut his mullet? DId he have it when he was in the horsemen?

    ReplyDelete
  102. It's so weird to see HHH and Stephanie actually being heels and getting a ton of heat on a face. They are totally setting themselves to look like complete idiots and Jeff Hardy to look awesome at the end of show. This must be the only time in history that ever happened.

    ReplyDelete
  103. Big showing unsuccessfully trying to get partners for his match vs Kane and Undertaker is a great use of Show and his comedic chops. Him begging guys to back him up and getting blown off his pretty funny.

    ReplyDelete
  104. Extant1979 - Extreme SuperstarMarch 7, 2015 at 11:08 AM

Hey! I was mean to him, too!

    ReplyDelete
  105. ThebrazilianpsychoMarch 7, 2015 at 11:08 AM

I think Vince is so senile that if you switch Roman to Jason Momoa he won't notice.

    ReplyDelete
  106. He might me the most underrated modern era character.

    ReplyDelete
  107. Quick question to stimulate discussion.
Of all the various tv shows in the WWE's tape library what is your no1 choice to get added to the network in full?

    ReplyDelete
  108. I think he got rid of it around the time the Horsemen reformed in 1998. It was a bad ass mullet, if they can't put him in the hall of fame at least put his mullet in.

    ReplyDelete
  109. Sad fact: my mother totally jumped on that bandwagon for a few weeks.

    ReplyDelete
  110. Primetime

    ReplyDelete
  111. WCW/NWA Saturday Night

    ReplyDelete
  112. That's what I want

    ReplyDelete
  113. I drank until I passed out and pissed myself watching Taxi Driver last night. That's where my life's at right now.

    ReplyDelete
  114. They're already loading episodes of that up although slowly and rather annoyingly they started a couple years into the show.

    ReplyDelete
  115. From all the reports i've seen Big Show turn around the crowd in his favors by interacting with them. I gain a little more apprecation of him because of it

    ReplyDelete
  116. Pissing yourself means something different in the UK to America.

Do you mean you wet your pants? or that you laughed very hard?

    ReplyDelete
  117. It's not as bad as it sounds, I didn't eat so my usual Friday night drinks hit me harder than usual. And I drink a lot of water. It still made for an uncomfortable morning though.

    ReplyDelete
  118. Oh I went my pants.

    ReplyDelete
  119. "I watched Bret's DVD with tears in my boxers."

    ReplyDelete
  120. Mid South shows.

    ReplyDelete
  121. ThebrazilianpsychoMarch 7, 2015 at 11:19 AM

I like Show, he seems like a nice guy and loves what he does. I just wish they would keep him in the midcard putting over guys, not burying.

    ReplyDelete
  122. Dude is a funny guy. Has a natural charisma. Considering Foley and even Raven have done stand up, I don't know why Show doesn't try his hand at it either.

    ReplyDelete
  123. Or maybe it did? Came back for revenge like Snake's hair.

    ReplyDelete
  124. Who the fuck decided to make a boxing match this long? Fuck this show.

    ReplyDelete
  125. WCW Saturday Night.

    ReplyDelete
  126. WM 2? Not the best one, that's for sure

    ReplyDelete
  127. I was pissed I couldn't go back to the black history month episodes

    ReplyDelete
  128. The Fan is underrated. Gets a bit over the top at the end but a good crazy DeNiro performance.

    ReplyDelete
  129. Saturday Night would be great too. Mid Atlantic Championship Wrestling as well.

    ReplyDelete
  130. ThebrazilianpsychoMarch 7, 2015 at 11:20 AM

I really gained appreciation to Show in his shoot interview years ago.

    ReplyDelete
  131. Yeah, I fell asleep watching it last week and I'm picking up where I left off. it's been bad.

    ReplyDelete
  132. Show really gets over with the live crowd as he can work them like anything, when you are on tv , a lot of the tricks can't be used however so he is less over on tv than in person.
Similar to Rikishi and Funkai in the past.

    ReplyDelete
  133. ThebrazilianpsychoMarch 7, 2015 at 11:21 AM

    World Class.

    ReplyDelete
  134. Is there anything interesting that's going to happen on Raw monday?

    ReplyDelete
  135. Monday night raw. Sorry I can't choose some obscure wrestling show noone has heard of outside of a few hundred people online.

    ReplyDelete
  136. They could've done something neat with the Andre battle royal by having Big Show win it for like 5 years in a row, essentially making it the new Streak, then having some young up and comer dump him when Show is ready to retire or at least stop wrestling regularly.

    ReplyDelete
  137. A remake changing the surroundings to be about a wrestling fan is a legit great idea.

    ReplyDelete
  138. Love Piper's pre match promo about giving up tiddly winks and dating girls if he lost to T, but he'd never give up Ace. Dial back on the coke, Roddy.

    ReplyDelete
  139. Has anything interesting happened on Raw in the past couple years other than Bryan turning on Bray?

    ReplyDelete
  140. ThebrazilianpsychoMarch 7, 2015 at 11:22 AM

5 years of Big Show winning, NO!

    ReplyDelete
  141. Andre won battle royals for decades. Built it up like that.

    ReplyDelete
  142. Celebrity guest commentator booed out of the building. I guess Chicago's always been this way.

    ReplyDelete
  143. That is a great idea, and completely believable. I always said in surprised some wrestling obsessed nut hasn't shot Triple H by now.

    ReplyDelete
  144. I give the first 2 Wrestlemanias a pass and can't judge them as being bad as they were trying new things and finding their feet. The idea of a mega show on PPV didn't really kick off until Wrestlemania 3 and even then the idea of PPV being the big show didn't really settle until a few years after.

    ReplyDelete
  145. I also think he's a decent worker for his size. I don't get all his hate online. He's had a pretty good 20 year run if I could say so. He's a shoe in for the hall of fame.

    ReplyDelete
  146. ThebrazilianpsychoMarch 7, 2015 at 11:24 AM

Rikidozan was killed by a fan in Japan if I recall.

    ReplyDelete
  147. I agree with the concept but not the person, having someone like Ryback or Cesaro have a winning streak would be great.

    ReplyDelete
  148. I'm not sure what you're referring to.

    ReplyDelete
  149. I'd have no problem with him going in. Who inducts him though?

    ReplyDelete
  150. Yeah, 1 and 2 are basically goofy gimmick celebrity shows.

    ReplyDelete
  151. I'd base it on an obsessed Roman Reigns fan.

    ReplyDelete
  152. Most of the shows listed used to get major ratings and ran for years if nor decades, it's not like people are suggesting Velocity.

    ReplyDelete
  153. I like that idea. The only purpose it serves is to get a bunch of guys on the show anyway so it's not like Show winning every year would be holding others back or whatever.

    ReplyDelete
  154. Fake boxing matches are dumb. This isn't Rocky, just make them wrestle. T wrestled last year.

    ReplyDelete
  155. Jakked, motherfucker!

    ReplyDelete
  156. Nah, Metal was far better

    ReplyDelete
  157. John Cena? Hulk Hogan? Those would be my top two picks to induct him.

    ReplyDelete
  158. Would certainly boost his win loss record at Mania. What is he currently? 2-10 or something?

    ReplyDelete
  159. 1 was like an average house show until the Cyndi Lauper match and the main event

    ReplyDelete
  160. I liked when Show was the Anti Taker, and then they threw away his streak in a pointless tag team match, when it could have been used for a real storyline, such as the Cody Rhodes feud.

    ReplyDelete
  161. I have no problem with the ending to the battle royale. What I have a problem with is what they did with Cesaro afterwards. Made the whole battle royale a waste.

    ReplyDelete
  162. Extant1979 - Extreme SuperstarMarch 7, 2015 at 11:27 AM

I have a tie for No. 1 - WCW Saturday Night and Shotgun Saturday Night.

    ReplyDelete
  163. Yup. Standard 80s MSG house show but with CELEBRITIES!

    ReplyDelete
  164. I miss the Saturday night jobber shows.

    ReplyDelete
  165. I think he Facebook friended me.

    ReplyDelete
  166. I think we might up to the date where they trot out legends to praise Reigns. It has to be getting close at least.

    ReplyDelete
  167. Primetime. After that I'd check out some Mid South.

    Other than that, whatever.

Not that I get the network though, so in truth I don't care.

    ReplyDelete
  168. I have no problem with Big Show having a Jericho-type deal. Just wrestle house shows, let the people see how large his skillet-sized hands are in person, maybe bring him on TV a couple times a year to put over a younger guy.

Hell, do that with Big Show, Kane, Randy Orton, Mark Henry, Chris Jericho, John Cena... and occasionally tape the matches to air exclusively on the Network. Call it "WWE Legends Tour".

    ReplyDelete
  169. Holy overdub!

    ReplyDelete
  170. The world championship wrestling shows they ran on 24/7

    ReplyDelete
  171. I always think of the first 4 matches of Wrestlemania as a basic guide for the newer fans so they can understand what's going on, before they get to the big matches.
That's why we got a submission, draw, pinfall, DQ and quick victory all at the start of the show.

    ReplyDelete
  172. And Alfred Hayes awful backstage bits.

    ReplyDelete
  173. Extant1979 - Extreme SuperstarMarch 7, 2015 at 11:30 AM

    Fitta unfriended me on Facebook.

    ReplyDelete
  174. God he was SO BAD. Looked like he never stepped foot in front of a camera until that day.

    ReplyDelete
  175. Are there any books out there about the NWA or the NWA title that don't suck?

    ReplyDelete
  176. Lesnar is scheduled to be on. If he doesn't show... could be interesting.

    ReplyDelete
  177. This one is awesome and can be easily found for free online. It is more about the very old days though. http://www.amazon.com/National-Wrestling-Alliance-Monopoly-Strangled/dp/1550227416

    ReplyDelete
  178. Of the back of the discussion over the WM2 Boxing Match.

Has there EVER been a "boxing" match on a Wrestling PPV that was decent?

    ReplyDelete
  179. 5,000 * $15 = $75,000.

    That's nothing to sneeze at.

    ReplyDelete
  180. "Now let us hear...from those two participants...in the match tonight...tonight's match up...let us hear...comments...from those two".

I'm paraphrasing, but probably not by much.

    ReplyDelete
  181. Butterbean knocking Bart Gunn out cold at wrestlemania had to be the best one.

    ReplyDelete
  182. If you weren't marching with the president, you were America's enemy.

Today Congress brings in other heads of state to criticize the president.

    ReplyDelete
  183. Contest NXT and Developmental NXT are not considered the same thing.

    ReplyDelete
  184. Now quite wrestling related, but I loved when he fought Knoxville on Jackass. Knoxville introduces them, Butterbean is all super happy, then Knoxville says it's time to fight, and Butterbean's face immediately snaps to "I'm going to murder you"
