Comments

  1. Jericho revealed that Joe told him he is in talks with WWE off the air. That's a real dick move on his part.

    ReplyDelete
  2. He said Joe wanted him to tell his audience that he was in talks with them I think.

    ReplyDelete
  3. That makes zero sense. If only he had a way to directly communicate with his fans.

    ReplyDelete
  4. But he doesn't so luckily Jericho helped him out.

    ReplyDelete
  5. That would be fucked up if Jericho did it with no consent but I'm 90% sure Jericho said that Joe told him to share that with his audience and that they didn't want to talk about it during the show. It does seem weird but I don't think Jericho would just do that.

    ReplyDelete
  6. I love McNuggets

    ReplyDelete
  7. I seem to be one of the only people who thinks McDonald's nuggets are the worst.

    ReplyDelete
  8. Stay tuned as I will post recaps from the Kevin Matthews shoot on his experiences with Bill DeMott while in Deep South.

    ReplyDelete
  9. You may be right but I absolutely believe Jericho would do that without his consent.

    ReplyDelete
  10. So who is Kevin Matthews?

    ReplyDelete
  11. If he did that would be old school Geraldo Rivera level sleazy.

    ReplyDelete
  12. He was in Deep South when it was the WWE Developmental territory in 2006. DeMott was fired as the trainer there due to his antics and Matthews brought attention to it on social media a few years ago

    ReplyDelete
  13. Gotcha. Does he wrestle anywhere now?

    ReplyDelete
  14. HHH being a big Samoa Joe fan is hilarious to me for some reason.

    ReplyDelete
  15. Pro Wrestling Syndicate. He nuked all his WWE bridges

    ReplyDelete
  16. Ha, I used to live 10 minutes from Deep South. It was located in some shitty ass Plaza behind a carwash near Kroger.

    ReplyDelete
  17. https://twitter.com/TheBobHolly/status/573222626497191937

If BOB HOLLY thinks you're an asshole, you're really an asshole.

    ReplyDelete
  18. When Joe was in UPW, he met Bruce Pritchard and Jim Ross, who told him that he will not have a future in pro wrestling.

    LOL!

    ReplyDelete
  19. Is this a recent shoot? I wonder if he can get any heat for himself off this. If I was that Judas dude or some of the other ones I'd make it part of gimmick to play to the anti-wwe indy crowds.
Just go Shane Douglas on wwe developmental at the shows. Bet you could get them to eat it up.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Well, being in TNA for 10 years ain't exactly a bright future

    ReplyDelete
  21. Anybody watching anything good on the Network tonight?

    ReplyDelete
  22. I think even fucking SPARKY would've been more respected as a trainer an Bill

    ReplyDelete
  23. I tried watching all the 2000 smackdowns but the HHH and Stephanie stuff post-wedding swerve was too much for me. At the time it was well done and great and I'm not saying it fails to hold up or anything but after being subjected to it for 15 years and knowing its never going to lead anywhere it's hard as hell to sit through it, even if it is the best version of that stuff.
So I moved on to 2001 and even though there is still some HHH and Steph this EXTREME episode of smackdown is really awesome.

    ReplyDelete
  24. This 01 smackdown is pretty juicy

    ReplyDelete
  25. I would absolutely take Matt Striker back in a heartbeat over any of the guys on the Raw commentary team now.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Not tonight. Out and about

By the way, how was your epic journey? Everything ok?

    ReplyDelete
  27. I don't know, could you imagine Matt Striker added into this mix...

    ReplyDelete
  28. The guys calling the show aren't the problem, Vince producing them is.

    ReplyDelete
  29. From 2012 or 2013

    ReplyDelete
  30. What's the best Hugh Morris match ever? I can't even think of one that I can remember.

    ReplyDelete
  31. It'll be interesting to see whether the quality of guys coming up through NXT improves once Buddy Lee Parker takes over.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Gotta be this sure-fire classic

WWE Smackdown! Taping - Apr 8th 2003 Nathan Jones Def. (Pin) Bill DeMott

    ReplyDelete
  33. Oh jesus Lawler putting over the Kat like crazy on commentary right before he walked out of the company over her is embarrassing. Poor old Jerry, but at least it got us a year of Ross and Heyman

    ReplyDelete
  34. Holly's at least drawn like a little bit of money in this business.

    ReplyDelete
  35. He turned out more stars than NXT has. DDP, Giant, Goldberg. There is almost a zero percent chance no one out of NXT ever gets as big as Goldberg was.

    ReplyDelete
  36. I stopped in Ohio yesterday and stayed today to visit family and friends. Making the final jaunt to Albany tomorrow.

    ReplyDelete
  37. The WWF tag division was so dead in 96 that Bulldog/Owen became de facto faces in September, lol

    ReplyDelete
  38. I think that's an usung reason why WM XVII is so good.

    ReplyDelete
  39. I remember the photoshoots he'd release of her on his website back in the day.

No surprise a girl like that ended up cheating on him.

    ReplyDelete
  40. Kevin Matthews on Bill DeMott.

"Matthews talks about his WWE tryout. It took place January 9, 2006 in Deep South. Johnny Ace sent him there to get the seal of approval from DeMott, who said it went well. He said DeMott was really nice to him then and he was thinking that he was getting a bad reputation from people because he was great to him then. They also both got trained by Johnny Rodz and talked about that. Matthews then said that DeMott twisted his words in his book when he claimed Matthews shit all over his training when he reality all he said was that Rodz doesnt like his guys working independents. He got thrown in the ring with Ryan O'Reilly (Konnor) and had a practice match that went well that DeMott himself praised. He got home then got a email from Tommy Dreamer who booked him and his girlfriend, Krissy Vaine, on Smackdown. They told Vaine that she was getting signed and he got nothing but John Laurinaitis told him to call his secretary who would patch him through. He called and no one was there initially then he got through and spoke with Dreamer and got the job and told him he was going to OVW. Matthews then asked if he could go to Deep South as there was a lot less people there and thought he wouldnt get lost in the shuffle. Dreamer questioned why as Matthews said he was nicely putting it that he should be going to OVW as Matthews said he later learned that DeMott was being fake to him during the tryout."

    More to follow

    ReplyDelete
  41. The Giant & Goldberg could have walked into any wrestling school ever and come out of it big stars. DDP was in the business for a decade before he stepped foot into that hole.

The Power Plant was an enormous waste of time and money.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Early 01 was about as perfect as you can get as a wrestling company.

    ReplyDelete
  43. The Sarge at least isn't a dick.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Kevin Matthews on Drug Testing When he Got Signed to His Developmental Deal:

"He failed his test as he had a ton of steroids in his system as Matthews said just about everyone did but you were not in trouble as all you had to show was that you were coming off of them and that your levels were going down. He said the first test didnt get you penalized but once Benoit died that all changed."

    ReplyDelete
  45. "King, Big Shows hands could literally wrap around a melon!"
Cole definitely has stepped up his Big Show hyperbole since 2001

    ReplyDelete
  46. Oh the Horror!!!!

Am i missing something with this whole ordeal or what? Hugh Morrus should get canned because he's not a very good trainer and his track record with raw rookies is garbage but all this crying seems oh so very millenial to me.

    ReplyDelete
  47. I'm no Billy Gunn fan but he jumped out of the building for Big Show's choke slam here. I can't believe how high he went up there.

    ReplyDelete
  48. 1996 was boring but at least then you didn't need 20 minute promos with everybody interrupting each other and Authority figures to sort out the number 1 contender. Whoever got a high profile PPV victory or had a big issue with the champion became #1 contender and that was it.

    ReplyDelete
  49. I'm still not sure why that's considered to be such a shitty way to book a promotion now.

    ReplyDelete
  50. Damn I forgot how much I hated 2001 undertaker.

    ReplyDelete
  51. The rest of WrestleMania 4, then maybe start 5.

    ReplyDelete
  52. For example: Mankind beats Undertaker for a second time at SummerSlam with help from Paul Bearer, so now he's the hottest heel in the company. Bam, the next night on Raw it's announced he'll be fighting Michaels for the title at Mind Games.

    ReplyDelete
  53. I miss the simple things like that. Plus Raw had scheduled matches back then. You knew who would be fighting who. It wasn't everyone showing up to the arena and randomly get thrown into matches depending on who pissed off the GM/Authority figure.

    ReplyDelete
  54. Haku and Rikishi would have been sweet permanent tag team. This is after Rikishis big heel run I think. I'm sure they're about to get squashed by the brothers of destruction here but that could have been an interesting way to get some mileage out of Rikishi.

    ReplyDelete
  55. nah but like goldberg was kinda pushed down peoples throats

    ReplyDelete
  56. I mean, the current system made sense when it was Vince McMahon trying to force Mankind and Kane into title contention because he didn't want Undertaker challenging Austin since he'd be just as much of a headcase if he won, but now it's like, what's the point?

    ReplyDelete
  57. Stranger in the AlpsMarch 6, 2015 at 6:01 PM

"I don't care if you pussies have broken fucking fingers, I want 5000 words typed up by each of you....tonight!"

    -Bill DeMott as BoD mod.

    ReplyDelete
  58. The real money would be in jobbing Foley both times while the announcers laugh at the Mankind gimmick, and then have a authority figure grant mankind the title shot anyways but not until they've run him down for being a loser and showed total dominance over him.

    ReplyDelete
  59. Normally I'd agree, but the wrestling business as a whole doesn't really have the luxury for the "be an asshole to everyone, let only the toughest guys rise to the top". Pool's too shallow, market's too small now. Plus, like you said, he seems to suck, if tough cop worked and he got a few guys to the top with it?

    ReplyDelete
  60. why the fuck was booker t and test even a tag team. like, one guy is booker t from harlem and test is the canadian kevin nash. made no sense

    ReplyDelete
  61. (OG Sin Cara kills himself)

    ReplyDelete
  62. *sends e-mail to Scott telling on DeMott, gets snitched out for it and threatened with a gun*

    ReplyDelete
  63. "You interrupted my 20 minute speech about nothing! Tonight you must face... Big Show and Kane in a handicap match!!!!"

    ReplyDelete
  64. I'd be interested in seeing what everyone's thoughts on Best WrestleMania with worst build and worst Mania with best build.

Mania 17 is awesome but a lot of those matches had iffy builds.

    ReplyDelete
  65. WrestleMania 2000 until I get motivated enough to go eat something.

    ReplyDelete
  66. Ugh. That's true.

    ReplyDelete
  67. Slapping the guys is enough for me but all the other stuff like name calling is just those trainees being cry asses imo. But you can't hit people. And you can't (IMO) do the thing where he purposely was slamming people the wrong way. The physical stuff is awful, the verbal stuff is totally fine by me. But I played sports so I'm used to that kind of talk and bravado, but dragging some dude by the neck or slapping some guy in the face is a douche move.

    ReplyDelete
  68. Then the Mankind/Shawn programme runs through another 2 PPVs after the DQ finish.

    ReplyDelete
  69. ThebrazilianpsychoMarch 6, 2015 at 6:08 PM

Hey guys, better than last night.

    ReplyDelete
  70. I hated the build to WrestleMania 30. But it was a great show. I was all in on the build to wrestlemania 9 as a kid, but it's not exactly the best show.

    ReplyDelete
  71. ThebrazilianpsychoMarch 6, 2015 at 6:10 PM

Bryan/HHH had one of the best WM builds.

    ReplyDelete
  72. ThebrazilianpsychoMarch 6, 2015 at 6:11 PM

    Yes it is

    ReplyDelete
  73. 3 had the best build. Worst? Hmmm maybe one of the ones I didn't watch from 2009-2013?

    ReplyDelete
  74. you got that ass backwards

    ReplyDelete
  75. lolz, Paul Bearer's reaction to Undertaker returning is classic

    ReplyDelete
  76. There goes Mankind talking in his Ross voice again.

    ReplyDelete
  77. Not worst build but worst build that led to a great show.

    ReplyDelete
  78. Haku's return was one of the shortest lived i can recall off hand.

Goes and checks Internet Wrestling Database.

    What the fuck?

I don't recall any of that aside from his Rumble return.

    ReplyDelete
  79. I loved the build to 30. Happiest I've been with the product for a while.

    ReplyDelete
  80. It was awful and they weren't building to it until they caved in a few weeks before the show.

    ReplyDelete
  81. 17 had a ton of matches that were made like 2 weeks before the show lol. Hell, I don't think Benoit and Angle even interacted with each other until the go-home show!

    ReplyDelete
  82. The build to HHH v. D-Bry was fantastic.

    ReplyDelete
  83. WWE is a publicallly traded company and can't have a trainer calling guys queer, a terrorist (because they're Arab) or being sexist torwards women. You just can't. I mean it's one thing to do a tasteless angle on television, since you can argue that's what the audience wants, or it's entertaining, or the bully will get his comeuppance. It's another when the bully is using fear to control the trainees, the future of your business.

    ReplyDelete
  84. Rikishi got hurt

    ReplyDelete
  85. From a viewpoint of overness to match quality, I'd have to thrown in Mania 15 as one of the worst. Then again some of the build wasn't great (Road Dogg/Billy Gunn swapping title chases, Taker and Bossman being very lackluster.)

    ReplyDelete
  86. The build started with Elimination Chamber. Me and worst_in_the_world seemed to be the only people who noticed the rather obvious "eleventh hour" storytelling that occured immediately after the chamber match.

    ReplyDelete
  87. Remember the Richie Incognito stuff in Miami? If the NFL won't tolerate it, WWE shouldn't either.

    ReplyDelete
  88. Yeah Lots started late. Taker/HHH was an alright build, Rock/Austin get elevated by some awesome moments and the video package but Debra!!

    Amazing show. Iffy build.

    ReplyDelete
  89. Yea, it was obvious he was getting the title shot. Of course idiots like Princess still thought we were getting D-Bry v. Kane

    ReplyDelete
  90. You mean the one where the reverse-engineered Bryan's push? Claiming all the stuff they were doing to bury him that actually got him more over was the plan all along?

    Okay HHH.

    ReplyDelete
  91. The top matches had pretty awesome builds, IMO.

    ReplyDelete
  92. What? The build was awesome. The go-home segment was tremendous

    ReplyDelete
  93. This year's build is pretty fucking terrible.

But that's gonna lead to a terrible show, so I guess that's not what you're looking for.

    ReplyDelete
  94. IMO that stuff is no big deal and only gets stopped when a guy tells on people. Again hitting some dude, or kicking a guy in the balls or doing the wrong way slam stuff is unforgiveable imo so I agree with canning him but rough language in a gym is just the way it is. It's a fine line but IMO all that verbal stuff should stay in the gym. But hitting someone, no way, that's fucking bullshit in any time period.

    ReplyDelete
  95. Rock/Austin.
    HHH/Undertaker.
    TLC 2.
    Jericho/Regal, kind of.
Vince/Shane. I mean, talk about a match that was a million times better than it had any right to be. And the build was good.

    ReplyDelete
  96. ThebrazilianpsychoMarch 6, 2015 at 6:19 PM

The moment they actually started to push Bryan was awesome.

    ReplyDelete
  97. Everything starting from "I'll get you on the card" was awesome. Occupy Raw, "You're not even real cops," , the Reality Era promo, the burial package...great stuff.

    ReplyDelete
  98. Best build to worst event choice: WrestleMania 25.

I was sold on nearly every match from that show but it's basically a one match show with a couple good matches behind it.

    ReplyDelete
  99. but stuff like angle-benoit, hhh-taker, tlc 2 etc had very thrown together builds... like two weeks at most in some case

    ReplyDelete
  100. The buildup to Rock v. Austin wasn't as great as the video package makes it out to be. The Debra stuff sucked and at the time people were complaining that it was being overshadowed by all the WCW stuff.

Taker v. HHH was good, I remember people being terrified HHH was ending the streak.

    Jericho v. Regal was fine.

    ReplyDelete
  101. Bryan/HHH was awesome when HHH Decided to be a heel. Basically anything Bryan after he turned on Bray in the cage.

    ReplyDelete
  102. Chyna/Ivory.

So I mean, half the matches had really solid storyline and build. Did Test/Eddy need to be the culmination of a months-long feud?

And Benoit/Angle didn't have a great long build either, but it didn't really NEED one since it was just, "I'm better than you!" "No you're not, let's fight."

    ReplyDelete
  103. Kevin Matthews on his first day training as a WWE Developmental worker:

"Matthews said that first day is when he realized DeMott was a piece of shit. He then talks about how he was nice before because he was not under contract but once all of the outsiders left the building and it was just WWE contracted trainees he showed his true colors. Matthews talks about how DeMott has zero loyalty and would probably bury his wife to his mistress and vice versa. He even brings up DeMott's book and how he said nice things about people that he buried to others previously. Matthews goes as far as to say that DeMott probably has Bipolar Disorder or a Split Personality as it doesnt even register to him how fucked up some of the stuff that he does really is then talks about how DeMott would always catch wind of his plans with his girlfriend then tell everyone in the class that he had to go out with him tonight and buy him drinks and cannot go home until he says so and his girlfriend is not allowed to come as he thought what the fuck does this have to do with wrestling. He told DeMott no in front of the class and said how you have to play the game but that DeMott's game was bullshit."

    ReplyDelete
  104. Very true. The occupy raw stuff and Bryan getting handcuffed and beat down and then jumping HHH from the crowd was all awesome for sure, but I'm more thinking about the 6 months before.

    ReplyDelete
  105. Oh ummm worst that led to a good show I agree probably 30. Best build that led to a bad show? 4

    ReplyDelete
  106. In Del Rio's shoot he just said that the that was never the original plan and he's like the 20th guy including Bryan to say that. So I don't think it's that obvious he was getting the title shot.

    ReplyDelete
  107. Not really, not HHH/Taker and TLC 2.

    ReplyDelete
  108. TLC 2 was pretty thrown together. It was just everybody fighting each other, ECW buddies appearing at the last minute, and then like the week before the show they announced the match.

    ReplyDelete
  109. 4 is a good choice.

    ReplyDelete
  110. I felt like they switched course midway through. Benoit was feuding with the Radicalz and then he wasn't. Taker and Kane were feuding with Haku/Rikishi and then they weren't. Big Show was interfering in main event matches and then he wasn't

    ReplyDelete
  111. Every match on the show doesn't need to be the culmination of a months-long feud.

    ReplyDelete
  112. Agreed. To say WM 30 had anything other than a great build is pure revisionist history.

    ReplyDelete
  113. It was obvious he was getting the title shot during Elimination Chamber

    ReplyDelete
  114. You said they had awesome builds.

    ReplyDelete
  115. But in that specific case, WWE telegraphed the hell out of it. Disappointed crowd shots, a rant from Cole that just so conveniently happened to summarize the entire storyline starting from SummerSlam, and then asking "How much longer is this crap gonna continue?!"

    ReplyDelete
  116. It had easily the worst Money In The Bank match, too. Too short and a total botchfest.

    ReplyDelete
  117. Punk winning again was s letdown at the time but led to something awesome down the line.

    ReplyDelete
  118. The build to Cena vs Edge vs Big Show might be the worst angle they ever did in the main event. A Vickie G love triangle omg please no.

    ReplyDelete
  119. Yeah that was one of the only matches I hated the build for. Should have been Cena/Edge

    ReplyDelete
  120. Yeah, I thought Christian was the obvious choice and going with Punk again would just be treading old ground. It was one of the few times I wasn't pulling for him. But like you said, hindsight is 20/20.

    ReplyDelete
  121. I was the same. Christian all the way and Punk winning felt like lack of new ideas. Glad to admit I was wrong there lol.

Still bummed we didn't get Hardys/E&C No DQ.

    ReplyDelete
  122. Man that thing had like z-level soap opera writing.

    ReplyDelete
  123. The Waltons is on INSP right now.

    ReplyDelete
  124. Best build to worst event: 14. IMO the best top-to-bottom WM build-up ever, with the Tyson stuff, UT/Kane, the dumpster match, even Rock/Shamrock had been building since the RR.
Outside of the main (which couldn't have been better, given Shawns injury), the card was mostly dull (Owen/HHH, IC title match) or downright terrible (UT/Kane).

    ReplyDelete
  125. The build to 25 also featured the great Jericho/Legends feud that unfortunately never could deliver on the premise.

    ReplyDelete
  126. Extant1979 - Extreme SuperstarMarch 6, 2015 at 6:28 PM

I was also pulling for Christian in that MitB, and was really disappointed when Punk won.

    ReplyDelete
  127. I love Wrestlemania 14

    ReplyDelete
  128. So, all the DeMott bad stuff will come out now... I hate when I think how much horrible stuff must be hidden in the wrestling business.

    ReplyDelete
  129. Would it have been better if he just wrestled Mickey Rourke? I think probably but seeing Ricky Steamboat still do the damn thing in 2009 was awesome.

    ReplyDelete
  130. The Wizards blowing out the Heat by 30 makes me feel slightly better about the season going down the drain.

    ReplyDelete
  131. I think Mania 14 is a really good show. No classics but everything delivers what you want to see. The Sable/Mero match is fun, I love that Kane/Taker match, a really good Main Event featuring the crowning of the new guy.

    Dumpster match is fun too.

    ReplyDelete
  132. I love the main event, but the difference of quality between the build and the event itself is huge.

    ReplyDelete
  133. Yeah, what a bunch of entitle crybabies to not be willing to put up with racism, homophobia, and sexism.

    ReplyDelete
  134. What's he supposed to? Throw a few punches and go for the Ram Jam?

    ReplyDelete
  135. I think they should have done Jericho/Steamboat solo like they did the next month at Backlash.

    ReplyDelete
  136. It's a fun show. Most of the matches are fine and I don't mind Taker v. Kane. Kane's entrance followed by Taker's entrance is just epic

    ReplyDelete
  137. As a life long warriors fan, I know sometimes you just have to savor the small things. Because sometimes that is all you are gonna get.

    ReplyDelete
  138. But the problem was that they seemed to be clearly heading in a certain direction and then just completely scrapped their plans about 2 weeks before the show and a bunch of storylines were left without resolutions.

    ReplyDelete
  139. I liked 14 too. It was the first since 10 that had that big event feel and I think the matches delivered

    ReplyDelete
  140. Dude, I hate the Kane/Taker match. Might be the first time I've disagreed with you on something.

    ReplyDelete
  141. Undertaker/Kane was the match I was most ready for and just Taker's entrance ALONE was amazing. I love that match too. JR and Kings call is tremendous and I loved the story.

    ReplyDelete
  142. Yeah, wasn't the original plan Christian being the guy to take out Jeff Hardy at Royal Rumble? If only they could've gotten the Dudleyz back from TNA too to do the full throwback lol.

    ReplyDelete
  143. It's one of my favorite matches ever since I was young. Love it.

    ReplyDelete
  144. I'm a basketball polygamist. Lakers, Heat, and Wizards are my teams, with Lakers being by far the highest.

    Wizards melting down is bad.
Heat just riddled with injuries is depressing, although the Dragic trade was a major upside.

    ReplyDelete
  145. ThebrazilianpsychoMarch 6, 2015 at 6:34 PM

    I gave that match ****.

    ReplyDelete
  146. Kevin Matthews on how the office dealt with potential wrongdoings in developmental:

"Matthews said that Laurinaitis put Dave Taylor in Deep South to report any wrongdoings to the office. Matthews said that Taylor himself told them all that but he overheard Taylor telling others that he was just there to collect a paycheck and wasn't going to report anyone. When asked if the office knew about DeMott's behaviors, Matthews said that the office knew other shit was going down then tells a story of Nick Mitchell, who was in the Spirit Squad. Matthews said that Mitchell was absolutely hated by DeMott and his number one target. Matthews said that DeMott's goal was to ride Mitchell out of the company but Mitchell wound up getting sent to OVW then got put on TV as the Spirit Squad and that set DeMott off as Matthews talks about how DeMott constantly goes after people he hates. He even tells a story that he was told by others who got their before him about how DeMott had Mitchell in an ankle lock and really started to crank the hold on and refused to let go even when Mitchell was screaming in pain. Matthews also said that Mikey Batts, who was about 5'1 and had a penchant for vomiting, once puked 17 times in one cardio session, which Matthews describes as torture sessions. Batts, after that and seeing what DeMott did to Mitchell, called Tommy Dreamer and told him then Dreamer called Mitchell and asked if that was true and he said yes and as a result they both got transferred to OVW. Matthews says that DeMott does not want to like you but rather wants you to kiss his ass and gets off of that. He said that guys like Bradley Jay and Eric Perez did that."

    ReplyDelete
  147. I thought it was a great spectacle and the match told a story. You know another underrated Taker match at Mania? The one vs Diesel.

  148. I thought Kane/UT was a very good match sans that chinlock. It was one of those shows that lacked a blowaway match but was good from top to bottom and was thus enjoyable to watch the whole way through. All the right guys won, everybody was giving 110%, and it had a great atmosphere.

  149. You ain't gotta tell me. Love that match too.

    ReplyDelete
  150. Glen Jacobs is probably my least favourite in-ring worker of all time though so I'm biased. I do like the dumpster match and HBK/Austin is actually a personal favourite. It's not like I'm saying it was a BAD show, me choosing 14 is more of a compliment towards it's build than anything else.

  151. I won't argue. I legitimately think it is a great pro wrestling match with an awesome story.

If Taker/Kane ends the next month at the Inferno match I think it's one of the best feuds ever. But it didn't end. .

    ReplyDelete
  152. It's good to know we CAN disagree lol. I was worried we were the same person for about a month.

    ReplyDelete
  153. I've stuck with one team but because until recently they were a fucking disgrace I've always pulled for individual players to have something to root for. Starks and Mason and all those bad ass Knicks dudes, Payton and Kemp, Mark Price, and since 96 Starbury and especially Kobe.
My dad gives me shit about getting into other teams but it is hard to just stick around and act like you give a shit about a team that sucks for decades at a time and won't ever keep their good players.

    ReplyDelete
  154. Oh damn. I just realized the Cavs are at the Hawks tonight.

    ReplyDelete
  155. Even as a guy who hates the match itself, I can't argue how epic the entrances were, or how well they pulled that whole storyline off.

Kane/Taker is feud is my guilty pleasure of wrestling.

    ReplyDelete
  157. lol it was getting kind of scary

    ReplyDelete
  158. Well wrestling trainers have been stretching guys for 100 years IAF.

    ReplyDelete
  159. Love the storyline, just fucking hated watching those two in the ring together.

  160. Basketball, and the NBA specifically, is almost designed to fans to watch just the best teams. The impact of a great player making plays is just wonderful to watch.

Monogamy is for football and baseball. Polygamy is for the NBA.

  161. In wrestling with shadows I remember Stu Hart (who is also a giant creep) stretching the shit out of some kid and talking about making guys eye ball blood vessels pop.

    ReplyDelete
  162. I didn't say "Every match on the card had awesome builds.

I said "the top matches had pretty awesome builds."

  163. This story is kinda funny:

"Matthews said that Rhaka Khan was down there one day and her pussy smelled so bad it stunk up the whole school. They had do to a two-minute training drill involving rollups and DeMott made Matthews do it with her. Matthews did say that Khan was a schmuck and deserved to get fired."

  165. Making a 5'1 guy puke a bunch of times because you can and the guy is too small to fight back though proves he just picks and chooses who to go after.

In the end who set the fire, Kane or Taker?

    ReplyDelete
  167. I like my NBA teams based on the players. It's just a star's league. NFL it's Jets and Panthers. MLB: Metropolitans

    ReplyDelete
  168. So wait, everyone in TLC 2 was fighting each other, trading the titles in tag matches.... the same guys who put on two show stealing classics at Summerslam 2000 and WrestleMania 2000, are put in the same kind of match together again? That sounds like the natural conclusion of the story they were telling to me.

  171. Authority figures in sports have been behaving like morons since the Stone Ages (I'm counting wrestling in this). I'm old so I'm out the loop. Anyone play sports in school in the last few years? Is it still like that?

    ReplyDelete
  172. Undertaker took credit for it when he turned heel in the Fall of 98, so I think it was him. Finally for good.

    ReplyDelete
  173. Probably Fire Marshal Bill.

    ReplyDelete
  174. It was definitely put together at the last minute. The Dudleyz lost the tag titles to the Hardyz and then they randomly did the Rhyno and Spike stuff before going: Oh by the way, it's another TLC!

    ReplyDelete
  175. It was always him. At first it was an accident then he said it was on purpose

    ReplyDelete
  176. Jets and Mets and Panthers...ouch bro.

    ReplyDelete
  177. I'm 29, so it might not count but my DC in high school was a legit crackhead that borrowed money off half the team.

    ReplyDelete
  178. Eh, at least he doesn't have Cleveland in there.

    ReplyDelete
  179. That's hilarious. I don't have anything to top that.

  180. Your job as head trainer should be to get the best out of your trainees, not drive them out of the business.

    Fuck this guy.

And while everyone is like, "Hey the Sarge isn't an asshole" I'd like to remind you all he did the EXACT SAME THING to Batisita, getting off on working him to death on the first day to prove he "didn't have it."

    How'd Batista turn out.

    Fuck all these assholes.

  181. In Football im a Raider fan at heart but I've been a packer fan since I was a kid too.

Baseball I don't really care so A's or Giants are good by me.

    Basketball is Warriors.

  185. Wait! I thought Undertaker claimed Kane started the fire? And that Bearer always said it was Undertaker's fault, and when he turned heel he took credit for it.

    ReplyDelete
  186. What's your favorite wrestling PPV that isn't well received.

Mine is Summerslam 2005. That show is fucking awesome and no one realizes it but me.

    ReplyDelete
  187. On whether or not anyone stood up to DeMott:

"Matthews said that when he was in Deep South, Kenny Omega stood up to DeMott and didn't play his games and it drove DeMott crazy because Omega was great and nothing he could do would blow him up or even bury him. Matthews said that Omega wouldnt budge and even fuck will DeMott in retaliation. He recalls one story when Omega was laughing while watching a tape of his match so DeMott yelled at him if he thought it was funny and Omega said he thought it was hilariouos then DeMott yelled at him again if he really thought it was funny as Omega said no and that he thought it was hilarious. He also said that several of the guys would pull up DeMott matches from WCW on the internet and laugh at how shitty he was and how bad he was at cutting promos yet was training them."

  188. Yeah I follow the Rangers too but not huge on hockey. NBA i love watching the Spurs play but I love stars like Westbrook, Lillard and Curry. They are just fun to watch.

    ReplyDelete
  189. I'm pretty close to the head field hockey coach and head basketball coach and the JV football coach, and they all seem pretty cool.

But there is one coach who's a fucking asshole though, from the Demott school no doubt.

  190. The Celtics are about the only team that can claim worse luck with 2 of their future All-Stars dying. But they have like 19 championships to soften the blow.

    ReplyDelete
  191. I always thought UT did it. He was playing with matches and didn't know Kane was in the building, but who knows anymore. You very well could be right.
