I finished off Season 3 last night (huzzah for another twelve months until Season 4 returns!), and without spoiling too much this whole run felt like a giant placeholder for next year. Nothing really interesting of note happens until the very end, and the show definitely needs to get some of its mojo back. Elizabeth Marvel just doesn't do anything for me at all, and she's probably a major player moving forward through the next season; that doesn't help matters much.

While details are still pretty scarce regarding the blow-up between Brock Lesnar and Vince McMahon at last Monday's WWE RAW, a little more information has become available.

Apparently the argument between Lesnar and McMahon, which as reported recently revolved around negotiating a new deal with WWE, was so bad that some actually became concerned for McMahon.

While the specific issue that resulted in the blow-up is unknown at the moment, there have been some issues as of late with WWE's recent talent contracts. It's said that when you come to a verbal agreement with the company, when you get the physical contract, the language in it doesn't match the agreement you reached. Additionally, there are other issues such as very lengthy non-competes.

Things got bad enough that at this past Tuesday night's SmackDown television taping, the WWE writers asked McMahon if they should write an alternate version of WrestleMania 31 that doesn't include Lesnar at all, just in case things get worse. McMahon reportedly said no, and alluded to the fact that he would sue Lesnar if he refused to work the show and live up to his current deal with the company.

Speaking of his current deal, if he doesn't finish out the remainder of the contract, it's likely that he would be in breach, unless there are unknown extenuating circumstances.

In what universe can Vince McMahon force Brock Lesnar to appear at WrestleMania by suing the guy? It's not like the court system would drop everything it's doing to facilitate a speedy civil lawsuit; the guy wouldn't see the inside of a court room for at least a year.

I've been unable to watch baseball regularly for the last five or six years, so I've sadly been falling away from it. It hurts too because baseball was big in my family for years and years (my parents were fans of the Reds and Red Sox respectively - got married in June '75, almost divorced in October of that year).

You and I seem to be in the same boat.

After last Sunday night (and the following evening on RAW), it dawned on me that the WWE had completely killed my interest in Daniel Bryan as a character. I dig his matches still, but I lost the will to be pissed off about the guy any longer. When my fandom for Bryan died, I realized I had nothing left that tied me to the product. It was sobering to think that after 25 years of watching wrestling, I could just drop it and not care anymore, but there it is.

Buy a ticket to several shows and just sit there. Bring the belt with you. You're appearing. And I bet anything WWE would not be able to hold themselves back from showing him on camera.

All of these news bits about Lesnar and Vince having a stormy meeting should dispel the notion that Brock Lesnar is resigning with the WWE, or that he will retain the title at WrestleMania. Vince is prepared to walk through Hell in a gasoline suit before he backs down again on Roman Reigns.

  130. I feel the same way, but couple that with how they've treated Ziggler, Cesaro, and Ambrose. Hell, even Wyatt. They've done everything in their power to screw up each of these guys who could EASILY be future faces of the company.

I was seriously excited when the post-Mania RAW went off the air last year. All three Shield members as red-hot faces and Bryan as champion? Cesaro paired with Heyman? FUCK YES. I was in. It was gonna be all those guy's year.

-Then they paired Bryan with Kane, which is always a bad sign.
-Then Heyman spent most of his time talking about Brock instead of Cesaro. And Cesaro quickly became an after thought.
-Then The Shield broke up. Though admittedly, Rollins is probably the ONLY guy who the past year has been good for. He's consistently looked like a million bucks.

Fuck this company. They can go out of business now for all I care.

Brock Lesnar is the only person in the business right now that's remotely close to that level. And honestly, that probably has more to do with his UFC run than it does his individual merit as a wrestler. John Cena has never gained that level, thanks to a goofy look and the absolutely stale character he's been riding for a decade-plus.
