Fuck you they are Jado and Gedo!
ReplyDeleteI can't wait in 10 years when some damn millennial asks Scott what's up with the Mountie hate and Scott answers "because fuck Mountie and his IC title run".
ReplyDelete''By 99-2001 he was much better''
ReplyDeleteOnly match I've seen during this time was against Chetti & Nova so I'll take your word for it.
Oh and he nearly killed Jericho.
ReplyDeleteHEY my lawyer has instructed me me not to answer any questions about tea biscuits, scones or figgy pudding!
ReplyDeleteGedo WAS pretty awful on that tournament. His surprise run through it, over classic workers, pretty much made the whole IWC turn on him. And since there was a huge gap between 1994 and when people started getting Junior tapes again, the hate generally stuck around.
ReplyDeleteWhat dose the J in Super J tournament stand for? I could google it but I dont really care that m
ReplyDeleteThat was the only thing I wanted Scott to answer.
ReplyDeleteJapanese
ReplyDeleteDur. That makes sense. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteJuniors
ReplyDeleteThank You. :P
ReplyDeleteI thought Scott liked the Mountie... or maybe just his music?
ReplyDeleteWith how loaded with talent both the 94 and 95 Tournys were, Gedo getting to the Semi's and the Finals is pretty redonculous.
ReplyDeleteI remember those rants, which inspired me to order those tapes back in the day. The Gedo hate was strong, and after watching those shows I could see why.
ReplyDeleteBlame Ultimo for the second one. He was booking and WAR was hosting so they needed one of their guys to at least make the finals, and he didn't want to put himself there.
ReplyDeleteI guess I can't complain about a selfless booking decision. I didn't care for Gedo myself, but they did a decent job of making him look like he had a shot at winning.
ReplyDeleteGedo from Jado and Gedo got hate? Wow. I definitely haven't watched that and likely never will. My first exposure to him was when they tagged against RVD & Sabu in ECW and I really enjoyed that match. I only know Gedo as being pretty good.
ReplyDeleteYeah, when I finally watched the events I was like, "Well, this guy's not my favorite, but he seems competent enough."
ReplyDeleteAlso, the more I watch Ultimo Dragon, the less I like him.
I haven't followed his career since his WWE stint nearly a decade ago, but I always liked him, mostly from his WCW days and whatever I can find of him from MExico and Japan. A little too inconsistent at times, considering how good he could be, and how often matches disappoint.
ReplyDeleteSuper junior cup
ReplyDeleteAs somebody who remembers both SK's anti-Gedo period and the J-Cups that prompted it, seeing Gedo as the sympathetic veteran face against Prince Devitt was pretty stunning.
ReplyDeleteI'll answer the 2nd question. I wouldn't fire the person who gave me the wrong biscuit, but would expect the manager to give me the right biscuit without forcing me to eat some shit biscuit I didn't want.
ReplyDeleteBy the way, I'm a cook and people who constantly give the wrong biscuit do get fired. then get hired elsewhere making more money.
Someone gave me a John Cena biscuit recently. I didn't eat it - it was way past it's sell by date
ReplyDeleteI went through long spell where each time I opened a packet of the most popular biscuits a Triple H biscuit had always been inserted right in the middle of it
ReplyDeleteI loved that rant from Scott. He was DESTROYING Gedo but he's right. Gedo wasn't ready for that spot. According to Chris Jericho's first auto biography, Ultimo Dragon did it to create a new opponent for himself in WAR. Apparently Gedo is now booking NJPW? I love hims role as SENSEI GEDO~! to Kazuchika Okada! He's done a fantastic job bringing him along. Thank you Gedo for the gift of the RAINMAKER~!
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't say I hated them, but I was definitely annoyed during the early-mid 2000s when they constantly ended up with the Jr. Tag Titles, no matter how interesting their opponents were. But, their two matches with Inoue/Kanemoto are pretty much my favorite tag matches of the millennium so far, so I give them a pass.
