Even more reigns!

At this point are you actually looking forward to the main event due to the likely cena-Orton rumble 2014 or brock-Goldberg reaction?

While the "its so bad it's good" of the last few months isn't a good thing in the long run, it is kind of making me excited for mania after all.

I don't think that reaction is likely, just because people don't care about Reigns enough to have that kind of passion about it.  If it gets out before that Brock is leaving, then maybe it'll be interesting and finally turn Reigns babyface with the smart fans, but otherwise I feel like they'll do a safe and boring match that will be intensely rehearsed and probably more dull than anything.

  1. No, they covered that in my Batman on Film 101 class.

  2. From an entertainment standpoint maybe but logically? No way. WCW booked opening match job guys stronger than Reigns has been booked.

  3. I remember him looking fucking hammered on the way to the ring

  4. It didn't come across that way on TV though. It felt more dull and that the fans were apathetic. I attribute that to MetLife being huge and open which allowed the sound to escape. It seems like the 49ers stadium suffers from the same issues, so I expect it to come across closer to Rock/Cena 2 instead of Cena/Orton.

The following night will probably be the rough one for the Roman Empire.

  5. I'm on board with this idea. I'm actually surprised that the WWE hasn't gone back there for a big PPV since Summerslam '92.

  6. I cant wait for Roman Reigns to prove all the his doubters wrong...

  7. In these network days, it shouldn't be too much of a problem to have Mania starting a few hours earlier. I know they were concerned in the past that afternoon shows would draw less buys but it shouldn't apply now

  8. But hell, we don't need a Wrestlemania. Give us a fucking Fast Lane and we'll be happy.

  9. As long as there's cities actually bidding for Wrestlemania in their city, they'll keep going to stadiums.

  10. You're still here?

  11. He was shoehorned in within 2-ish weeks prior to the show, I wanna say. God help me if I remember the storyline reasons why, aside from Luger being a kayfabe wuss. Still doesn't explain why Sting went with Booker.

  12. I think they actually did this on Thunder once with Sid :(

  13. Might as well rename yourself to the Dead Sea.

  14. That's one hell of a sleep Bayless is having

  15. They need stadiums to they can sell the apathetic crowd as the rabid crowd with the noise escaping upwards. Otherwise you might get another WM 22 situation.

  16. This e-mailer seems to not realize how many NFL, MLB, and college football stadiums there are in the United States.

WWE will not run out of stadiums anytime soon.

  17. It was PROBABLY a completely blown spot, because WCW. But, they at least wrote that spot into the story after the fact that Lex just wanted to get the hell out of the cage and if it meant KO'ing the champ so their opponents could get the win, so be it. Too bad Lex would be a full-fledged babyface within ten weeks.

My favorite part of this match is Tony Schiavone saying with a straight face, "Luger's the fresh man, he hasn't been hit with a frying pan!"

  18. Somehow I doubt it will be in liverpool.

My dream has always been a Royal Rumble in the UK. Not so sure anymore :(

  20. I think if the smart fans find out Brock is leaving he becomes that much more of a face.

  21. It was a mutual respect sort of thing. They announced that Lex was out of the street fight and that if Sting didn't find a partner he was gonna have to go it alone and get murdered on live PPV by the Road Warriors. They forced in Sting crossing paths with Book in the back and Booker T agreed on the grounds that Sting and Lex would give them a tag team title shot if they won the match.

I'm not sure an actual title defense happened until the triple threat tag team match in late June where Hall and Nash showed up with the bats and Book rolled up Lex in the fracas for the cheap pin and the titles.

  22. I disagree, he is very bad

  23. The Raw after Mania was always going to be rough for Roman no matter what.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Nah, I think they will just boo Brock more as opposed to cheering Reigns.

    ReplyDelete
  25. If I were them I'd start the show with it

    ReplyDelete
  26. If I were them I would built Cena vs. Rusev as a HUGE U-S-A U-S-A U-S-A angle, getting Hogan and Slaughter and Duggan and all those clowns involved in Cena's corner and have THAT be the main event.

Of course, WWE decides a better Cena-Rusev storyline is to have Cena be an old grizzled veteran wanting to preserve his "legacy" and Rusev not wanting to fight him. Idiots.

  27. I wonder how much Brock charges for rehearsal time per hour

    ReplyDelete
  28. If the smart fans find out Brock is leaving, we'll get massive U-F-C! chants.

  31. And WWE can easily repeat stadiums in 10 years if they'd want.

It's absolutely ridiculous to think WWE will ever run out of stadiums for WrestleMania. Frankly, it's more likely they'll run out of stadium-size crowds willing to go to WrestleMania first before running out of stadiums.

  32. I really hope Lesnar-Reigns makes Hogan-Warrior II from Havoc 98 look like Flair-Steamboat from Wrestlewar 89.

Wrestlemania at the Old Yankee Stadium would have been epic. Not impossible to imagine either as George Steinbrenner was a fan of wrestling and made a cameo at WM VII

    ReplyDelete
  34. While a fair point, not sure college stadiums ought to be counted since the likelihood of WrestleMania XXXV emanating from places like Tuscaloosa, AL or Knoxville, TN is rather low.

  35. Still enjoying the idea that miserable people are paying hundreds of dollars to go to a show they have already decided that they hate.
