Lesnar theory

Scott,
I know you're sick of Lesnar/Reigns questions; but isn't this "Lesnar walks out on the WWE right before WrestleMania" story a little too hard to believe.  I mean this literally sounds like a copycat angle from over a decade ago.  Could it all be a work to pump up Reigns as a sympathetic face conquering this arrogant jerk who wants to walk out on the company?  The WrestleMania crowds are usually mark-ish and there's no way Lesnar get booed unless its a Goldberg scenario where the crowd knows he's leaving.  Better yet, what does Vince do when the crowd KNOWS Brock is leaving, and they STILL cheer him and boo Reigns?

I'm amused how people now even preface questions with "I know you're sick of this question..." and then ask it anyway.

If it was a work, what possible motivation would Dana White have for going along with it?  And why would they suddenly have an idea for getting Reigns over as a babyface now after months of failing to do so?  And why make your big hail mary attempt at getting him over an angle where literally only 1% or less of the audience is even going to understand?

  2. "If it was a work, what possible motivation would Dana White have for going along with it?"

If I wanted to play along with this theory I don't believe in, maybe Dana's getting worked, too. And that's as much devil's advocate as I'll play here. *Returns from Quik-E-Mart*

  3. What's most sad about it to me is that even though the decision still sucked, Reigns- and the way they're presenting him, more importantly- has been really good since the Rumble. I guess the part that's actually sad is that it doesn't matter, because you can't blame people for being close-minded about that. The damage was already done.

  4. I hate modern developments in wrestling camera work. The constant switching, shaky cams and nauseating zooming in and out are all utterly pointless. TNA is worse. I find matches literally unwatchable on Impact.

Internet wrestling fans right now: Chicken Little

    ReplyDelete
  6. I agree with this. I'm not sure how it was in the last days of Spike, but on Destination America the matches are definitely unwatchable. Just set a camera on the ring, how hard is that to do? I think they feel that being busy with the camera work is more creative, but all it is is distracting.

    ReplyDelete
  7. Why do people think everyone will boo Lesnar if they know he's leaving? This isn't 2004 for a ton of reasons.

    ReplyDelete
  8. I'm not sure I understand your premise. What about now would be so different that fans wouldn't get on Lesnar if they knew he was leaving for UFC?

    ReplyDelete
  9. Because people are generally fed up of having Reigns raped down our throats.

    ReplyDelete
  10. Hey Scott, I know you're sick of this questions but... Blue/black or white/brown?

    ReplyDelete
  11. I don't think it's something that most fans even notice. I made mention of this to my buddy- who's a hardcore fan and knows terms like kayfabe, work/shoot, blah blah blah but isn't as smarky as the average BOD poster- when we were at Raw and he didn't even know what I was talking about. I don't know if this means that playing to the hard camera is a waste of time, or that it does what they want if most fans don't even notice it.

  12. Gold. White/Gold

    ReplyDelete
  13. I always liked when the Rock did the people's elbow with his back to the camera. It seemed cooler.

    ReplyDelete
  14. That's a real stretch.

    ReplyDelete
  15. The camera should follow the wrestler not the wrestler following the camera

    ReplyDelete
  16. Is it? I havent seen this level of apathy from the crowd, smarks, the BOD in years. People just dont care.

    ReplyDelete
  17. I don't know. Maybe you're right. (Well, you're definitely right about the apathy.) I've stopped trying to figure out wrestling crowds, though. Shit, I've actually been shocked at the *positive* reaction Reigns has gotten from a couple of crowds since the Rumble. Since there's been so much talk about the Reigns backlash from so many places, I wouldn't be totally shocked if Reigns actually gets a positive reaction from the Mania crowd. Especially if Lesnar is leaving.

Non-Reigns? You're in the wrong place, mate.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Because people have more or less know/suspected Lesnar was leaving after WM since last year and it hasn't affected his crowd response.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Mike, the problem is, for me anyway. There's no one left to cheer anymore. Ambrose is a punchline, Bryan will never be the guy neither will Ziggler, Cena will continue to be boring, Lesnar even if he stays you'll hardly see him, Bray will do his yearly WM job. Orton will be stale again in a month. The only 2 people worth caring for is Reings and Rollins.

  23. I've never believed Lesnar was headed back to MMA for a second and still don't, but the best part of that "Lesnar wants to wrestle and fight MMA at the same time and Vince said no" is the assumption that Dana would say yes.

Vince would get a stiffy over one of his guys being a dominant UFC fighter (which Lesnar can't really be anymore, but let's assume), but Dana? Does anyone really think Dana would, for a second, be amenable to one of his top-level-visibility fighters ALSO "competing" in scripted pro wrestling matches? While the UFC is still struggling in some ways to legitimize itself further? And in need of more big names that can sell PPVs? If Lesnar DID come in and DID clean up, why would anyone think Dana would willingly invite the accusations of fighters being paid to take dives and fights being fixed that would follow a WWE wrestler also being a UFC title contender/champion simultaneously?

And that's putting aside all the logistical concerns of Lesnar's training needs and availability. I mean, pro wrestling shape and MMA shape are not the same thing.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Only if Lesnar does the job to Rousey :P

    ReplyDelete
  25. Here's something funny: Apparently Cena is now the grizzled old guy, because Reigns is The NEW GENERATION. But Cena and Lesnar are the same age. So Lesnar must also be an old guy.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Yeah, but there's speculation and then there's actually knowing.

    ReplyDelete
  27. "his yearly WM job."
I know, he's on a streak of one in a row. WILL IT EVER END?

    ReplyDelete
  28. It's true because then you can see the fans erupting in front of him.

    ReplyDelete
  29. In modern day, I'd say they're about the same with things like this and besides, with things like this, you'll never KNOW Lesnar is leaving/staying until he appears or doesn't appear on another show after the post-WM Raw.

Also, look at the way wrestling fans react to speculation. Look at the reaction to that complete horseshit "Kalisto's getting repackaged as a gay hairdresser" story. Wrestling fans LOVE getting worked up over speculation and yet, here? With this speculation? Nothing.

    ReplyDelete
  30. You knew what I meant. Stop with your John Edwards impersonation.

    ReplyDelete
  31. No offence John Edwards!

    ReplyDelete
  32. Brock will get a fucking standing ovation from the crowd if its really his last match. He's going to be the fan favorite and no one will be mad he's leaving. This isn't 2004.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Well I said it because I liked his ass. But that too!

    ReplyDelete
  34. What about his ass do you like?

    ReplyDelete
  35. Because he's more popular now and a lot of fans are far less sympathetic to the wwe. I don't see anyway the crowd does anything but show him massive amounts of love.

    ReplyDelete
  36. I don't know. He jobbed to Rollins on Monday and the fans were dead for him and the match.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Great example was (still heel) Rock doing it on the ladder to Triple H @ Summerslam 98

    ReplyDelete
  38. and if he were to shoot on reigns...double that reaction

    ReplyDelete
  40. Yes, shooting on Reigns seems very likely.

    Oy vey.

    ReplyDelete
  41. No I don't think he actually will was just saying.

    ReplyDelete
  42. If they don't work too hard camera, you'll be able to see how empty that side off the arena will be when Reigns isn't drawing as champ.

    ReplyDelete
  43. I was kidding. We're getting into a weird area arent we?

    ReplyDelete
  44. I think the boredom is causing our imaginations to go out of control...

    ReplyDelete
  46. I don't think we are.

I think we're finally being real.

    Let's go with this.

    ReplyDelete
  47. The way to get Reigns over is having him beat a bunch of guys.

Instead he loses via roll up to Seth Rollins.

    ReplyDelete
  48. "If it was a work, what possible motivation would Dana White have for going along with it?"

UFC invasion angle with Brock, Punk, and Heyman leading the invading force and losing every match by DQ after locking guys in the Herb Kunze Armbar and refusing to break the 5 count?

    ReplyDelete

    Duh.

    ReplyDelete
  50. TIL BOConscience is an ass man.

    Yeah, he's an ass maaaaan!

    ReplyDelete
  51. I wouldn't be surprised if fans turn on Brock if they know for sure he's done. I think he's someone that fans at large will love if he's one of ours, but as soon as he's done, fuck him.
That's not my opinion, just a reaction from the crowd that wouldn't surprise me at all.

    ReplyDelete
  52. I finally watched it yesterday and it came of even worse than I thought, since the ref wasn't originally paying attention. Rollins is trying to get him to look over, and Reigns is laying their like a goon, not even trying to kickout

    ReplyDelete
  53. Austin said it best on his podcast, there are 8 cameras out there, you don't need to play to the hard camera, someone will pick it up, its their job.

    ReplyDelete
  54. Vince choo-choo-chooses Reigns.

    ReplyDelete
  55. To be fair, it's not just age, but mileage and exposure. Brock hasn't been working 300 days per year for the last decade.

    ReplyDelete
  56. I’m way more excited at the thought of
Brock going back to UFC then I am seeing him do a rematch with Reigns, then
four months later a final match with Cena, followed four months after that by
him returning the job to Taker, or whatever the boring WWE plan is for him.

    ReplyDelete
  57. It's just like 2004!

    ReplyDelete
  58. *Brock runs up to Vince and Dana*

Boys boys......you BOTH can have me

*Vince and Dana jumps and screams with joy€

    ReplyDelete
  59. Alex Riley is a way better booked babyface than Roman Reigns. Let that sink in.

    ReplyDelete
  60. You resemble that remark.

    ReplyDelete
  61. Plus, Dana's well aware of how hard pro-wrestling is on the body, fake or not. It'd be infinitely dumb for either he or Vince to just assume that Brock wouldn't/couldn't get hurt, thus screwing up plans for BOTH companies.

    ReplyDelete
  62. No way Vince would agree to that either. Good looking booking him like a bad ass if he gets KO'd.

    ReplyDelete
  63. "Are You Serious?".

    ReplyDelete
  64. The only answer is blue and dark brown/gold. ;)

    ReplyDelete
  65. Because fans aren't chanting "CM Punk sucks" at every show.

    ReplyDelete

    ReplyDelete
  68. What drives me crazy is when they hit a finisher and make sure to turn around and face the hard camera when they make the pin.

    ReplyDelete
  69. Reading comments below on whether fans will boo Brock due to speculation that he may be leaving, I would get such a wonderfully perverse kick out of the WM audience just chanting "UFC, UFC" during the match.

A decade ago, the audience was pissed that the rookie that was handed everything was just walking away without returning any favors, but now he's Legitimate Badass UFC Champion Brock F'ing Lesnar and the audience is actively cheering for Vince to fail... the fans may just WANT Brock to leave and go back to bigger and better things, just to stick it to Vince.

  72. TJ:

    McIntyre or Riley?

    ReplyDelete
  73. Yup. Fans have known for years that Brock is on borrowed time and will probably go back to the UFC when his contract is up. And he still gets cheered.

    ReplyDelete
  74. It's because he's fucking awesome

    ReplyDelete
  75. Off topic, I'm one episode behind on NXT, but that show closing angle of Kevin Owens tossing Riley over the announce table like he wasn't shit was AWESOME!

    ReplyDelete
  76. If HHH wanted Dunn gone, it would have happened by now.

    ReplyDelete
  77. To be fair, they just don't have anymore ways to book John Cena so they use that logic to get by.

    ReplyDelete
  78. Riley. He had like a one month run where he was over

    Maybe McMahon won't let him.

    ReplyDelete
  81. He's a troll homie don't bother with him

    ReplyDelete
  82. No, it doesn't. Why would Brock do that?

    ReplyDelete
  83. According to the Wrestlezone report (http://www.wrestlezone.com/news/558699-35-wwe-nxt-live-results-from-columbus-oh-kevin-owens-vs-alex-riley-sami-zayn-returns-rare-triple-h-appearance-more-possible-spoilers), the live crowd was told some of the show would be taped for the Network, so I would guess it has to do with production.

At the same time, none (or few) main roster house shows are shown on the Network at all (given the lower production values and match structure), so I'm not sure why NXT's first touring show (which could have had disastrous attendance/appearances but didn't, so yay) would be shown within 48 hours of it happening. That camera crews were there suggests that something will be shown at some point, but it could easily be a 1-minute video package during the next NXT special.

As for the hard camera stuff, if the setup is anything like it was a decade ago when I last went to a live show, I imagine it's to show the most amount of fans in a straight shot (the same way the hard cameras on sporting events are lined up with a straight shot rather than one of the corners) with the wrestlers: there is a large chunk of lower level seats left open on the hard camera side, so they wouldn't want shots of that; shooting from the ramp wouldn't be straight on (or would be in the way of wrestlers coming down/going up the ramp) and could have fans somewhat obstructed by the ring and the announcers; and shooting from the announcers' position would have the empty space of the ramp and might include the Titantron in the background rather than fans.

Finally, is the camera work much better in NXT? I get much more of a headache with the camera angles there (and not just from Blake and Murphy's entrance) than I do from the main roster cuts (which are annoying and often defeat the purpose of a hard camera by missing things because they are jumping between shots).

    ReplyDelete
  84. You are right. I don't think Brock would shoot on Reigns.

    ReplyDelete
  85. It's too hard to regularly do both. Bobby Lashley does, but I hear Rampage balked on the first day of wrestling training. He's lazy, but you don't wanna be doing wrestling bumps right up to having a real fight.

    ReplyDelete
  86. Well, there's a lot of reasons that TNA matches are unwatchable.

    ReplyDelete
  87. "We're not having fun, Maggle."

    ReplyDelete
  88. Yeah, no, Vince would say no way as well, but I can see where some people could ignore the obvious and think Vince would want to see "his" guy show up these "UFC nobodies."

There's literally no upside, fictional, assumed, hypothetical or real, to Dana allowing a UFC fighter to also do pro wrestling simultaneously.

    ReplyDelete
  89. 100%. Brock is seen as a legend who's bigger than the WWE, like The Rock. No one is holding it against Brock if he wants to go to the UFC, especially because WWE fans support him being a "sports entertainer" who was able to succeeded in legit competition.

    ReplyDelete
  90. Boys boys......you BOTH can have me

    He's hardcore!

    Er, yeah.....

    ReplyDelete
  91. Lashley fights cans, though. Also, Bellator wouldn't be the first competitor to the UFC to fix fights. I'm not ACCUSING them, just saying.

    ReplyDelete
  92. I don't know if I'd go that far, but he's liked well enough and a big part of that is that he's one of the few guys (maybe the only guy) that isn't force-fed to the audience, overexposed and isn't booked like a total fucking goober who can't win more than 50% of the time.

    ReplyDelete
  93. Charismatic eNegro Jef VinsonMarch 6, 2015 at 8:29 AM

I picture Brock having a twin sister that destroys the women in NXT and the Divas Division.

    ReplyDelete
  94. Possibly. But I suspect if he really wanted it done, it would be. Just my opinion.

    ReplyDelete
  95. That's a misreading of the crowd from 2004 and 2015. The crowd turned on him in 2004 because he wasn't the star he was, he was seen as a quitter because he was jumping from the WWE to try out for the NFL, a move that a lot of people saw as complete BS.

The audience who supports Lesnar (which is significant) thinks of him as a legend and will follow him to the UFC, where he's also a legend. No one thinks of him as a quitter.

    ReplyDelete
  96. Nope. Hogan just vetoed it.

    ReplyDelete
  97. Plus, in 2004, there was zero idea that Lesnar was leaving until, what, days before WM? I mean, they were building (or it seemed, anyway) to Lesnar/Austin, a match everyone wanted to see. Then Lesnar bailed and said "nah, I'm out after Sunday."

Completely different situation, completely different background, completely different context. Lesnar (possibly) leaving after WM is the only similarity.

    ReplyDelete
  98. AverageJoeEverymanMarch 6, 2015 at 8:33 AM

TJ - Watching Superbrawl III on the network. Ventura - " I'm going with Benoit. He's got more of that killer instinct."

    ReplyDelete
  99. I would. Lesnar is the biggest draw in UFC history, and a big reason why is because WWE fans followed him there. Also he's seen as a Paul Heyman guy, and Paul Heyman is basically a walking avatar for the IWC.

Also, by "bigger than the WWE", I mean he doesn't need to be in the WWE and the fans know it and don't hold it against him.

    ReplyDelete
  100. I'm strangely intrested to see how this angle he started with Kevin Owens on NXT plays out.

    ReplyDelete
  101. So, is this the daily thread?

    ReplyDelete
  102. This is the worst theory since the theory that the earth was flat

    ReplyDelete
  103. I don't think the complaint was about the existence of the hard camera. Having a hard camera makes perfect sense. I think the complaint was that the wrestlers work to the hard camera. They will (obviously) set themselves up so that they are in the best position for what they're doing to be captured by the hard camera. For example, if Cena goes to do the AA or if Punk goes for GTS, he will lift his opponent on his shoulders, walk to the center of the ring, turn to face the hard camera, look straight into the camera, scream and make some face, and then execute the move.

And no, the camerawork is not better on NXT. They do all the same quick cut/zoom in and out nonsense.

    ReplyDelete
  104. That was Nicole Bass 12 years before her time.

    ReplyDelete
  105. Theory: Fake Razor Ramon looked so much like Razor Ramon, there was no way he could have been anyone else once he did the fake Razor gimmick. Since real Diesel was kind of generic looking (Long black hair, goatee), fake Diesel could survive a gimmick change. Issace Yankem doesn't look that much like Diesel, for isntance. Of course, having a mask as part of his next gimmick helped.

    ReplyDelete
  106. Name a babyface that's been booked WORSE than Reigns that was expected to carry the company.

    ReplyDelete
  107. Walking out of WWE in 2015 makes you a hero. Lesnar will get the pop of the night, no matter what his contract status is.

    ReplyDelete
  108. I'm telling you, post-Mania Raw we'll get We Want Lesnar chants during Reigns big coronation promo. This is gonna be such a debable.

    ReplyDelete
  109. Where's the daily thread? Bayless ok?

    ReplyDelete
  110. I could see WWE not even putting him on that show, just like how they didn't put Punk on it after 29 knowing he'd get a better reaction than all of the faces.

    ReplyDelete
  111. Dunn is one of those "set 4 life" guys who Vince will die on a hill to save. He's on the same level as Blassie, Monsoon, et al (and isn't as big of a pain in the ass as Albano).

    ReplyDelete
  112. Well, they shouldn't notice it. If you're watching a movie, at least for the first time, and are noticing things like camera zooms and angles and cinematography, then the movie has failed.

    ReplyDelete
  113. At least Blassie and Monsoon were worth keeping around.

    ReplyDelete

    ReplyDelete
  136. A wrestling work that he is coming back to MMA. Who knows if he's physically cleared and able to get licensed.

Given how Alistair Overeem has performed in the UFC the fact that Lesnar lost that badly and quickly to him doesn't tell me his physical shape was in game condition post illness.

    ReplyDelete
  137. I don't know why everyone had such a problem with that storyline. For one, they were putting off the patriotism angle for the Mania build, as we've seen. (And why everyone needs that tired old trope to be revisited in such a on-the-nose fashion, I'm not sure, but whatever, rasslin' and USA, that's fine.) For another, regardless of his actual age, no one in WWE history has spent more actual time on top than Cena. He's been the top guy for a decade, in an era that produces way more content than ever before. It would be like if Hogan was the top guy for 25 uninterrupted years. It made enough sense to me.

    ReplyDelete
  140. Not really. It seems fickle if you watch week to week because it's in a different city every week, and some markets are "smarter" than other markets. Fans in Philly, New York, and Chicago will react way differently than fans in Atlanta or Memphis or San Antonio.

Wrestlemania is basically wrestling Christmas, so the crowd will be heavily comprised of the fans you'll see in Philly, NY, Chicago plus a huge international contignent. And that is a Brock Lesnar crowd.

    With no need of Venom.

What would be the child's name?

    ReplyDelete
  142. It's not but it's the first time he's done it very close to the end of the contract amidst a sea of rumors.

Whatever he wants it to be.

    ReplyDelete
  144. Will Reigns get his own new custom WWE belt though? One with Sylvester the Cat in place of the WWE logo would be cool.

  145. ThebrazilianpsychoMarch 6, 2015 at 9:15 AM

He's gonna be like fucking Broly from DBZ.

    ReplyDelete
  146. Now that I've had some coffee in me, I'm done playing devil's advocate. I agree, the crowd won't shit on Lesnar.
    Unless they go for that.
Is it totally implausible that, if Brock is going to UFC, they actually use it as a storyline to make him the biggest dickhead ever? I wouldn't doubt any lengths they'd go to get Reigns cheered, so actively telling the crowd that you're leaving and taking the WWE title to UFC with you? Wouldn't shock me.

    ReplyDelete
  147. Not really. The last time this happened, it was a big story and Dana had to answer questions about Brock coming back.

    ReplyDelete
  148. "Please Retire" chants

    ReplyDelete
  149. Brock will screw Brock? ???

    ReplyDelete
  150. It won't change anything. Fans love Brock.

    ReplyDelete
  151. Anybody who thought he was going to the UFC mid WWE contract isn't the brightest. He wouldn't have a leg to stand on in court and any attempt to fight would get gummed up worse than Bellator is doing to Rampage.

    "...but mom calls me, 'Skippy'"

    ReplyDelete
  153. I think the problem is that Dana won't negotiate with him until his WWE deal is up, and Brock doesn't want to tilt his hat either way until then because it will affect his negotiating power.

Thinking about it, Brock/Rampage. Book it, Dana.

    ReplyDelete
  157. Listen to the call-in shows on Austin's podcast sometime. There's still a lot of dumb casual fans who respond as if it's real. It would shift at least some crowd support to Reigns if they do it right.

    Steve Mazzagatti.

    ReplyDelete
  159. That's probably true. I know almost nothing about UFC/MMA, so I'm just thinking out loud here.

    ReplyDelete
  160. Nothing they do could make Brock a heel for 31. It's literally impossible.

    ReplyDelete
  161. Charismatic eNegro Jef VinsonMarch 6, 2015 at 9:21 AM

I hope after he jobs to Reigns Brock beats him to a pulp and rips the belt in half like that Van Damme movie.

    ReplyDelete
  162. Make Lesnar-Bryan for the strap this week on RAW. Lesnar repeatedly F5's him, putting him out of action for months, and missing Mania.Heyman does mocking "Yes" hand movements.

    ReplyDelete
  163. Vince should get Rousey to be a special ref or "enforcer" at Wrestlemania. THAT would be cool.

    ReplyDelete
  164. I think that would actually be a pretty good fight. I don't think either guy will be a champion again and I think at this point in his career Rampage would perform better at heavyweight. Having him fight a scrub like Fabio Maldonado is a waste of everyone's time.

    ReplyDelete
  165. Overeem on roids= first round stoppage vs. Brock. Overeem clean=losing to Mir or getting KO'ed by Big Foot Silva. I still contend Brock's loss to Overeem should be a NC, since Overeem failed a test before his next fight, and c'mon...

    ReplyDelete
  166. OK, Chris Traeger.

    ReplyDelete
  167. Hmm, so it was the WWF hotline that instigated the rumors of Undertaker leaving the WWF after SummerSlam '96 that Scott talked about in his original rant of that show.

    ReplyDelete
  168. IIRC, it was before he signed his second contract with WWE.

    ReplyDelete
  169. That said, I agree, which is why my fantasy booking idea is a Reigns/Rollins double turn where Rollins cashes in at the end of the night, loses, and is the babyface chasing heel champ Reigns.

    ReplyDelete
  170. I've read there was a duelling chants at Cesaro that went "Push Cesaro" / "He's too Swiss" and that's really awesome

    ReplyDelete
  171. A chronological listing of shows on the Network by promotion would be the tits.

    ReplyDelete
  172. That's not how it works though. He didn't fail competition testing and was on a provisional license. It's like the Jones cocaine thing, you can have an opinion but rules are rules.

Overeem still has big KO power as you saw from the Struve fight but he's never had a great chin and he fought a lot of the fights he lost like an absolute dunce. He was cleaning Travis Browne's clock and gassed trying to finish him for example.

He didn't really land anything huge against Lesnar though, Lesnar crumpled fast because he wasn't in any shape to fight.

    ReplyDelete
  173. He could squash Ziggler, AJ, Paige and everyone we like on NXT. Then do the same to D-Bry. That would turn him heel.

    ReplyDelete
  174. Rousey who is like a 500k plus draw per show for the UFC has been basically begging to have involvement with a major WWE show. I'm surprised they haven't moved on this.

    ReplyDelete
  175. Have him cut a promo about suffering succatash. That should do it.

    ReplyDelete
  176. In like '03? Those were like the early days of the Zuffa UFC.

    ReplyDelete
  177. Yes, because this would require Vince admitting he's 2nd banana to UFC. I do think they'll try making Brock more heelish in the upcoming month, and it won't work.

    ReplyDelete
  178. Charismatic eNegro Jef VinsonMarch 6, 2015 at 9:27 AM

He could start cutting promos on how Reigns is too tough, hand him the belt and be all, "You're alright, LaRusso!"

  179. Charismatic eNegro Jef VinsonMarch 6, 2015 at 9:28 AM

Yeah. Let's have her job to Nikki Bella.

    ReplyDelete
  180. They are saying 700k for Rousey vs. Zingano. A no name opponent, zero star power on the undercard, 700k. Rousey is massive.

    ReplyDelete
  181. What does WWE do with Ronda? She's approximately 1234324 levels ahead of all WWE women. Anything short of killing one in 3 seconds isn't believable.

    ReplyDelete
  182. If I were Nikki Bella I would not get any of my limbs within a one mile radius of Ronda Rousey.

    ReplyDelete
  186. I think having her destroy Stephanie would be money but Steph's ego would get in the way.

    ReplyDelete
  187. That's Lita you're thinking of.

  188. The Love-Matic Grampa!March 6, 2015 at 9:32 AM

It's dumb because it's clearly USA vs. Russia but Vince (for the first time in history) is apparently worried about offending people overseas. So we get this grizzled vet storyline when the fans actually want Cena to go all super-patriot and beat the loud-mouthed foreign menace. I was against this feud because I think it does little for either guy, but I also assumed it was an easy lay-up and that with all the issues with Reigns I figured WWE would welcome a simple, paint-by-numbers angle that writes itself. But why have things simple when you can have them convoluted, I guess.

    ReplyDelete
  189. That's why I think it wouldn't happen, but I can't rule it out with how determined they are to get Reigns over.

    ReplyDelete
  190. Oh, then I guess not. Well said.

    ReplyDelete
  191. Pretty incredible that ANYONE could have a compelling story going with Riley.
