The Rise and Fall of WWE-Trailer

Good to see they're already getting set for the aftermath of Roman's Reign.

  1. Well that's frightening.

  2. I've just realised cultstatus' avatar is from the Royal Rumble. *nods*

    ReplyDelete
  3. It's really haunting just how closely they resemble WCW these days. I wonder if anyone's actually tried saying that Vince? If there's ANYTHING that would truly send him over the edge, it's that.

    ReplyDelete
  4. Whomever wrote those subtitles needs destroying.

    ReplyDelete
  5. Coming soon to the CM Punk Network!

    ReplyDelete
  6. What do they show on there? Anti drug speeches mixed with young girls that look like their 14?

    ReplyDelete
  7. This is so well done that it's scary. I was watching the Monday Night War and felt that literally everything said about WCW from 1999-2001 could be applied to WWE today... and then someone did it! Tremendous...ly frightening.

  8. I watched the OSW review of the 2001 Royal Rumble last night. Besides the fact that the roster was just stacked back then, there was an energy to the presentation that is just gone today. Immersive camera angles, more energetic music, pyro, and other elements just made the show feel alive. Watching now is like watching 93-94 after having seen the Hulkamania era.

  9. That reminds me, Dutch still on contract?

''Wrestling fans are the most loyal fans in the world...until you slap them in the face''
    Such a good line.

  11. The New Generation was AWESOME!!

    ReplyDelete
  12. Seriously. That's all they've done to us for the past year.

    ReplyDelete
  13. I can see a world where Vince watches this and buries the shit out of anyone on contract thinking it's real.

    ReplyDelete
  14. Not enough Vince and his deep thoughts while lifting weights.

    ReplyDelete
  15. Amen and after slapping us in the face by making a cruiserweight vanilla midget like Daniel Bryan WWE Champion theyre trying to make things right by giving Roman Reigns the WWE Title....

    ReplyDelete
  16. You just realized this?

    ReplyDelete
  17. It's always bugged me. But I've never dared to rewatch the 2015 Rumble. It's not my finest hour sure.

    ReplyDelete
  18. I'm surprised this video wasn't posted April 1st.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Your avatar is from The Nightman Cometh *nods*

    ReplyDelete
  20. If this goes viral, it will somehow result in Ziggler getting blamed and buried.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Sarcasmatroll.

    ReplyDelete
  22. I'd say the best line was at the end from Bryan: "There is only so much bad television you can watch before you stop wasting your time."

    ReplyDelete
  23. Which DVD are most of these clips from?

    ReplyDelete
  24. Rise and Fall of WCW I believe.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Gimmick troll has a bad gimmick.

    ReplyDelete
  26. So does TNA put this out?

    ReplyDelete
  27. Dutch is a philosophical guy. The best line I've heard attributed to him was "I liked this business better when the marks were out in the seats and not here in the locker room"

    ReplyDelete
  28. WWE could solve all their problems by rehiring Tito Santana, Don Muracco, and King Kong Bundy.

    ReplyDelete
  29. And firing the Divas. Retiring the diva belt - retiring all the belts except tag, IC and world - and putting the UC title on Tito and the world title on Hogan.

    ReplyDelete
  30. I thought so as well but I could've sworn he had that before the Rumble. Guess not.

    ReplyDelete
  31. I wonder if that was shot before or after Kane attacking Bryan and Screamy Bella in the car.

    ReplyDelete
  32. He also renamed Steve Williams as Steve Austin. This should keep him employed forever.

    ReplyDelete
  33. The interview clips are all from the Monday Night War series on WWE Network. All the negative quotes were about WCW

    ReplyDelete
  34. Amazing job! I'm guessing New Japan releases this lol?

    ReplyDelete
  35. Vince: Ziggler! The son of a bitch! I keep giving you chances to be in there with Kane and Big Show and this is what you go and say? You're done pal!

HHH: No, Vince..Vince this is not real.

Vince: The hell it isn't! I saw it on the typewriter screen!

HHH: ...ok. No, it's called a parody. It's something they do on the internet...

Vince: THESE BASTARDS DID THIS FROM IN THE BUILDING?!

    HHH calls Dolph

HHH: Dolph? Yeah..it happened again. I know. Yeah, I'm trying to get him to demote you to NXT so he forgets about you for awhile.

Vince: YOU ON THE PHONE WITH HIM, PAL? YOU TELL HIM I'M STILL PISSED OFF HE DIDN'T GIVE ME A COPY OF HIS SINGLE! I PROMOTED THAT RECORD, DAMN IT!

HHH: He still thinks you're Jeff Jarrett, too.

    ReplyDelete
  36. That was excellent. It's kinda amazing reading recaps and watching the hardcore fans basically shrug week after week. From my standpoint, even when it was bad before, everyone seemed invested in CM Punk, then *really* invested in Bryan, and now there's nothing left except rooting against Reigns and it's depressing, yet oddly fascinating.

  37. Virgil's Gimmick TableMarch 5, 2015 at 8:49 AM

Agreed. It was funny the first time but now there's like 5 of them. They're not even original.

  38. MaffewOfBotchamaniaMarch 5, 2015 at 9:12 AM

Even funnier is that Scott Keith reviewed the Uncensored Doomsday Cage Match yesterday and it was only a few weeks ago they had Bryan & Reigns vs. Every Tag Team on SmackDown.

Also, yeah! New Legacy Inc fan is gonna get his big recognition.

  43. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wbKsqEUMZHU ...TJ : the video led to this.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Yet most of us keep watching....go fig....

    ReplyDelete
  45. What a smarky smark video.

Jesus people, everything is fine. The shows are hot, people LOVE Roman Reigns, they just need to get out of those smarky smark towns that have people booing them. They are NOTHING like WCW. Because WWE is still in business.

    ReplyDelete
  46. I think there was a lot I remeber from the Monday night wars series.m

    ReplyDelete
  47. As one of the comments says, there's nowhere near enough views on that to be taken seriously and it's been up since yesterday. Shame.

Because we feel that they will change even when they won't. We love pain.

    ReplyDelete
  49. how about this one: these trolls are just as mediocre as Reigns is right now.

    ReplyDelete
  50. a bit more effort please!

    ReplyDelete
  51. "He still thinks you're Jeff Jarrett" is what puts this over the top in a good way

    ReplyDelete
  52. sign me up.

    ReplyDelete
  53. This was hilarious

    ReplyDelete
  54. That's why it's hard for me to turn away. I have zero interest left as a fan but I watch more as a social experiment just to see if there is a breaking point somewhere, either by the fans or Vince.

    ReplyDelete
  55. 10% less are watching every year according to the ratings.

    ReplyDelete
  56. ^Reminds me of Baghdad Bob. :)

  57. I don't know. Re-reading KB's Nitro '99 reviews points out that, poor as WWE may be, it's still not the same "oh, god, my soul is dying watching this" horrible late WCW was.

    ReplyDelete
  58. They do give WCW props in that series on how the cruiserweights were amazing and how the NWO was so revolutionary from the start. And it's not like their shots are any worse than in "Death of WCW' or slews of online columns over the years.

    ReplyDelete
  59. On NJPW World for YEN999 a month!

    ReplyDelete
  60. Is it that far away from it?

    ReplyDelete
  61. I'm beginning to think that part is true. Kit would explain a lot.

    ReplyDelete
  62. It's sad that we don't have anyone to root for. Only people to root against

    ReplyDelete
  63. Just downloaded a copy (since I expect this to be pulled). Thanks, KeepVid!

    ReplyDelete
  64. The 2015 Rumble match didn't give you that pain?

    ReplyDelete
  65. That cruiserweight episode was horrible, though, since they covered how good it was for like 15 minutes, then got into how all the cruisers weren't transferred to the main event picture right away. And then it was all, "look how well WWE used these guys!" even though it basically took WWE longer than Eddie and Benoit were in WCW to make them world champions, and Rey's reign was no great shakes.

    ReplyDelete
  66. I did like the part where they talk of WWE trying their own light heavyweight division and it didn't work. I know, it's biased to WWE a lot but I was surprised how they gave more props to WCW than expected (like going out of the way for guys saying Goldberg wasn't meant to be an Austin clone but his own guy). Besides, we know if WCW had won, they'd be doing something as biased to their side.

    ReplyDelete
  67. But it was preceeded by the fantastic Lesnar/Cena/Rollins bout which made the show worth it whereas with WCW then, it was pretty much crap all the time.
I'm not blind, I see the issues and such and agree it's poor now but at least they are trying to build new guys like Rollins and Reigns instead of superstars of a decade earlier who are barely mobile.

Let's say someone from the future had shown you this in, say, 1997. Seeing HHH on the cover of the DVD wouldn't your logical reaction be "Well, he must have started fucking the boss's daughter or something!"
