  2. Unfriended - surprisingly solid. I can see why it's fresh on RT.

    ReplyDelete
  3. Listening to Regal on Jericho....can see why Bryan gravitated towards him....very "what's done is done, what will be will be" attitude

    ReplyDelete
  4. The name though just rubs me the wrong way...will give it a look see down the line

    ReplyDelete
  5. Better than the original title of Cybernatural.

    ReplyDelete
  6. Ha, really? Christ

    ReplyDelete
  7. I saw an interview with him where he called himself an "old villain" and "old baddie" and I found that charming, lol.

    ReplyDelete
  8. Seriously. Unfriended is a superb title next to that, haha.

I'm trying not have big expectations, but the trailer of BvS looks so cool.

    Do you bleed?

    You will.

  11. ThebrazilianpsychoApril 17, 2015 at 5:30 PM

    Truce!

    ReplyDelete
  12. If they can deliver on the fight, it'll make a mint. Still not sure the story will be any good though with all the characters shoehorned in

    ReplyDelete
  13. I liked that last line, yeah, but what can I say, I can't help but think "well, it's no Man of Steel teaser trailers..."

    ReplyDelete
  14. ThebrazilianpsychoApril 17, 2015 at 5:33 PM

    Just let Batman win!

    The babyface must win.

    ReplyDelete
  15. Heading home from work soon and will catch up on Gotham. Tigers already played. I'm hearing Gotham's return didn't work out so well.

    ReplyDelete
  16. An AAAAAAAAAAAA-bomb...from AAAAAAAA-Rod.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Haven't had the chance to see it yet and it's probably gone by now. I'll wait for the non-handheld cam version I guess.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Necksnapper McMurderson vs Broody Deadparents with even MORE Christ allegories than Man of Steel! Woooooo?

    ReplyDelete
  21. Watching AAA's tribute show to Perro Aguayo Jr., a collection of his classic matches.

Looking at this stuff, most of it for the first time, I'm surprised the man didn't die of some contagious disease years ago. In this Perro-Myzteziz (Sin Cara) match, Perro is bleeding worse than any Terry Funk match you've ever seen, he's gnawing on Sin Cara's forehead to draw blood, he's wiping Sin Cara's blood on his own cheeks like war paint, he's licking Sin Cara's blood off his own hands, he's writing with blood on the camera lens, he snatches a Sin Cara mask from a ringside fan and puts it in his mouth, then puts the bloody mask over the camera lens so it like we're watching him through bloody Sin Cara eyes.

Meanwhile, the fans are going crazy for Perro. There are soccer moms with his poster in the crowd who are loving this.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Also that "Do you bleed? You will" line sounds so fucking 90s. And not in a good way.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Man, I do not miss the closing shift at all.

    ReplyDelete
  24. But then you can sing this!

Mexican HBK with a touch of Terry Funk?

    ReplyDelete
  26. reposted from Daily Thread as I didn't see this had been opened.

So apart from the Pillman gun angle this Raw, is forgettable at best.
Goldust vs Barry Windham in the period when neither was any good in the ring
The Sultan vs The Pug in a 5 minute match whilst the crowd craps over it.
    HBK/Sid in a debate
Fake Razor vs Mero in a match which seemed designed to not distract from the Pillman storyline.

Has Scott ever done a rant on this show?

    ReplyDelete
  27. How does Batman even fight Superman? Does he slather himself in kryptonite?

And even then, couldn't Superman kill Batman from a distance so far away that Batman wouldn't even know what was coming?

Legit question. I don't understand how this can be a fight.

    ReplyDelete
  28. In The Dark Knight Returns, he built a power suit (much like the one seen in the trailer) that helped him match Superman. And he cheated with Kryptonite.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Oh so he makes like Hulkbuster armour?

    ReplyDelete
  30. Shameless Self-Promotion:

Got another entry for Fiction Friday today. This time, Kamikaze Flies. It's...a weird one. Still not sure how I feel about it, really. Have a look if you want.

    https://nickpiers.wordpress.com/2015/04/17/fiction-friday-kamikaze-flies/

    ReplyDelete
  31. Pretty much. I think he sucked all of Gotham's power into the suit in order to power it.

    ReplyDelete
  32. ThebrazilianpsychoApril 17, 2015 at 5:44 PM

That's probably the best Superhero fight ever made.

    ReplyDelete
  33. ThebrazilianpsychoApril 17, 2015 at 5:44 PM

Yes, and had traps all over Gotham.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Yeah, though I'm not sure if it's not Mexican Terry Funk with a touch of HBK. He's more athletic than the Foley/Funk types, but not quite on HBK's level of athleticism.

    ReplyDelete
  35. I definitely disagree. Superman/Captain Marvel in Kingdom Come stands out for me. Or any time Hulk/Wolverine mix it up.

The only reason Batman stood a chance in that is because of Frank Miller's raging hard-on for him and hating Superman and his ideals.

    ReplyDelete
  36. I'm more miffed they're not doing it as a live, snuff film. Total method acting and dedication to the craft

    ReplyDelete
  37. ThebrazilianpsychoApril 17, 2015 at 5:45 PM

    Superman/Marvel is overrated.

    Cubs fans, so the best.

    ReplyDelete
  39. *shrug* Agree to disagree.

Actually, come to think of it, JLA/Avengers probably trumps all. That whole series was a fanboy's wet dream.

    ReplyDelete
  40. ThebrazilianpsychoApril 17, 2015 at 5:47 PM

Never read JLA/Avengers, and stay away from crossovers.

    ReplyDelete
  41. Ok, I guess that works. If we accept that a suit of armour can be built to withstand The Hulk, then one could be built to withstand Superman as well I guess.

Now, I never really did buy the Hulkbuster armour... But I'm trying to expand my horizons.

    ReplyDelete
  42. HBK/Sid in a debate sounds intriguing.

    ReplyDelete
  43. It's a self-contained 4-issue mini-series and is chalk full of easter eggs in every panel. It's just pure fun.

    ReplyDelete
  44. It wasn't as good as it sounds.

    ReplyDelete
  45. Honestly if you just fast forward through the the Fish nonsense it's a decent episode.

    ReplyDelete
  46. I have no memory of that show other than the obvious. Now I know why.

I didn't even realize that The Pug was still kicking around at that point.

    He...must...WIN

    Cena must job.

    ReplyDelete
  49. Lol WB just released the trailer early instead of waiting for the big event.

    ReplyDelete
  50. The fight'll be interrupted or something by whatever threat they have to team up and defeat (from what I hear, it's Doomsday).

    ReplyDelete
  51. They were idiots thinking it wasn't going to get leaked, anyway. And now many people's first impression of it was a horrible fan camera version.

    ReplyDelete

  56. Thought the same thing. Can the person not hold a phone up for 2 minutes?

    ReplyDelete
  57. Wouldn't doubt the soccer mom thing

    ReplyDelete
  58. I have been pretty down on this movie, but yeah, that trailer got me excited.

    ReplyDelete
  59. I agree, unless they save Wonder Woman and Aquaman for post credits or the end, something about forming a team maybe?

    ReplyDelete
  60. I'm pretty sure they're banking on it

    ReplyDelete
  61. Definitely peaked my interest

Lots of writing, game design, and regular old designing will be had.

  73. I respect you, booker man.

    ReplyDelete

Oh sorry, you weren't talking to me

    ReplyDelete
  90. GO GO MIDCARD CHAMPION!

    ReplyDelete
  91. Huh, so JR was kind of a semi-authority figure in '96.

    ReplyDelete
  92. Watching the Atari: Game Over doc

    ReplyDelete
  93. So the idea for the game is I Am Legend, but more towards the book version. So the vampires will have guns. And there will be gorillas. Vampire gorillas.

    Because I'm making it awesome.

  94. I slapped together a scatch "Attitude" version of the old Monday Night Raw logo: http://i.imgur.com/eXZrFYa.png

    Thoughts?

    ReplyDelete
  95. Their version of Pac-Man and E.T. were sooooooooooo bad.

    ReplyDelete
  96. So of course, everyone jumped on my status with "Well, the Batman trilogy was better than any Marvel movie!!!!"

    ReplyDelete
  97. Someone tried to say Man of Steel was better than any Marvel movie. I almost spit my drink out in laughter.

    ReplyDelete
  98. ThebrazilianpsychoApril 17, 2015 at 7:05 PM

    AHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.

    ReplyDelete
  99. So which is the best marvel movie? My vote is for capt america 2

    ReplyDelete
  100. Captain America 2 for pretty much turning the entire universe on it's head.

    ReplyDelete
  101. Capt 2 and GotG are tied for me. Both were excellent.

    ReplyDelete
  102. Worst marvel movie: thor 1 or 2. I don't like the love interest or thor

    ReplyDelete
  103. Netflix

    ReplyDelete
  104. ThebrazilianpsychoApril 17, 2015 at 7:10 PM

    Thor is frat party douche.

    ReplyDelete
  105. Loki carries 2. I think 2's the better movie, 1 has a better ending. (didn't care for the portal nonsense during the climax in 2)

    ReplyDelete
  106. Cool ty. I will have to check it out.

    ReplyDelete
  107. Thor 1 was really good. 2 was meh by Marvel standards. I still need to see Ironman 2 and Incredible Hulk to make an educated decision.

    ReplyDelete
  108. You know Zach Snyder?

    ReplyDelete
  109. Yeah, i've never liked Natalie Portman. Kat should've in a bigger role

    ReplyDelete
  110. LOL it's in the middle if even that high.

    ReplyDelete
  111. ThebrazilianpsychoApril 17, 2015 at 7:15 PM

More girls should have the body of Kat Dennings.

    ReplyDelete
  112. My favorite is Howard the duck. I can count that now, right?

    ReplyDelete
  113. Incredible Hulk's my least favorite though I'm still in my "Get the stick out of your ass, Norton" phase

    ReplyDelete
  114. Iron Man 3 or Thor 2

    ReplyDelete
  115. The best part of my current cable woes is that I still have Cap2 saved on my Dish DVR, and have a little longer to rewatch it. The first one did nothing for me, but the second took me by surprise.

    ReplyDelete
  116. Does avengers 2 make more money than the original?

    ReplyDelete
  117. Can't see how it doesn't

    ReplyDelete
  118. Check out video games: the movie. Also a great doc.

    ReplyDelete
  119. Both are gorgeous.

    ReplyDelete
  120. I liked 1 for being a fish-out-of-water kind of story for Thor. I thought it was a good way to introduce such an uber-powerful character to new audiences.

2 was good in parts. The final battle was more interesting (even if the villain wasn't) and the movie gets a lot better once Loki shows up.

    ReplyDelete
  121. Personally, of all the Marvel movies so far, I think Iron Man 2 and Hulk are the least of them. Still entertaining enough movies on their own. They're not BAD by any means (not certainly compared to other superhero dreck). Just not as good as the others that surround them.

    ReplyDelete
  122. Definite toss up between Cap 2 and GotG for me. Either are interchangeable, for entirely different reasons. Avengers is a close third.

    ReplyDelete
  123. That's hilarious.

It's funny, when I mention to people that I'm a big Superman fan, they ask me what I thought of Man of Steel. I tell them it's a shame Superman isn't in it.

    ReplyDelete
  124. Noticed that... will have to check it out

    ReplyDelete
  125. Oh yes. It's already tracking to smash the weekend record the first one set. It's gonna get a bump on the goodwill of the first movie/Cap 2/GOTG.

    ReplyDelete
  126. Incredible Hulk. There's a reason it's pretty much forgotten about by now.

    ReplyDelete
  127. http://baddogtheatre.com/sleeperhold

As an improviser, this show sounds like a golden night of fun.

    ReplyDelete
  128. Iron Man 1. It's still pretty much perfect and builds the Marvel template. There probably is no MCU without it being as amazeballs as it was.

    ReplyDelete
  129. ThebrazilianpsychoApril 17, 2015 at 7:33 PM

I think I'm gonna watch Batman & Robin again just for the one liners.

    ReplyDelete
  130. It's probably not even better than Superman Returns

    ReplyDelete
  131. I have the 2600 Pac-Man. Shit sandwich.

    ReplyDelete
  132. Yeah, I wasn't huge on either Thor.

    ReplyDelete

    ReplyDelete

    ReplyDelete
  140. Like Jingle All The Way, it's so silly I can't help but love it

    Yes, the kid was great.

    ReplyDelete
  156. Did Edge and Taker even have a PPV showdown at that point yet?

    ReplyDelete
  157. There should be a baseball common sense commissioner. Maybe not with overall power, but maybe someone that can say "You really think you want to sign Mauer to that kind of contract?" Publicly and shamefully

    ReplyDelete
  158. Nope, they wouldn't have a match on PPV against one another for another two years!

    Eerie foresight by Roger Ebert.

    ReplyDelete
  159. Watching season 1 of breaking bad. Never liked flynn

    ReplyDelete
  160. That'd be a hilarious job title. "Common Sense Commissioner". I could imagine them sitting on a Bad News Barrett type podium and the owner and GM of a team walks in with the player they are offering the contract to plead their case.

    ReplyDelete
  161. Sadly I think I would have preferred the kid in a suit saving the day over Extremis Pepper

    ReplyDelete
  166. Nothing better than NHL playoffs

    ReplyDelete
  167. The Activision games - consisting of former Atari game designers - were the superior product and Atari rushed the Pac-Man, E.T. - hell, you can throw Raiders of the Lost Ark in there too - games to compete & they were terrible. Once Colecovision & Intellivision hit the scene, it was Game Over.

    ReplyDelete
  168. Oh, gotcha. Dammit. Disregard my second reply then.

    ReplyDelete
  169. Your own.......personal.....JEEEEEEZUS

    ReplyDelete
  170. Besides Loki, favorite Marvel movie villain in the Marvel Universe?

    ReplyDelete

    Mandarin/Killian, I loved the twist.

    ReplyDelete
  173. I prefer college football playoffs

  174. Bucky I guess. If nits are to be picked, the villains have been lacking

    ReplyDelete
  175. Anonymous henchman #27

At least the set was really friggin' cool. (I also saw the outdoor set for Jurassic Park 2: Park Harder)

    ReplyDelete
  179. "Stand still you little prick..."

    ReplyDelete
  180. Eh, I wouldn't say they have been lacking. Marvel just doesn't focus on villains as much as previous comic book movies. They put the focus more on the heroes.

    ReplyDelete
  181. I love when Tony rips out his targeting system. "This looks important!"

    ReplyDelete
  182. The new David Hasselhoff video is the greatest thing ever made.

    ReplyDelete
  183. Considering how many 90s superhero films focused on the villains (read: Batman quadrilogy), I'm Ok with Marvel focusing on developing their heroes.

    ReplyDelete
  184. ThebrazilianpsychoApril 17, 2015 at 7:57 PM

I could see his turn in a mile away, I prefer "Mandarin" from IM3.

    ReplyDelete
  185. Yeah, the banter between the two of them during that fight is aces.

Tony: "How'd you fix the icing problem?"
    Stane: "What icing problem?"
Tony: "Might want to get that looked at...."

*bobs him on the head as he falls*

    ReplyDelete
