BoD Saturday Night Thread

Talk about everything going on tonight here.

Comments

  1. Red Wings and UFC 186 night at our usual BDubs spot.

    ReplyDelete
  2. Is it nighttime already?

    ReplyDelete
  3. Reading about the Nepal earthquake. A tragedy twofer, as it triggered a deadly avalanche on Everest as well.

    ReplyDelete
  4. NASCAR postponed 'til tomorrow. Can't wait to see what FOX filler will take up the time.

    ReplyDelete
  5. ThebrazilianpsychoApril 25, 2015 at 5:09 PM

    More "impartial" news.

    ReplyDelete
  6. I'm sure we'll have our local newscast - just wondering if they'll show Empire or Gotham or a block of something in NASCAR's place.
There's a Lawrence Blackburn move with who looks like Steven Baldwin movie on now.

    ReplyDelete
  7. This pizza, paired with a Baja Blast, is going down nicely.

    ReplyDelete
  8. That's the cable news channel. It has no actual connection with local fox news programs.

    ReplyDelete
  9. I'm in Arizona so that doesn't necessary apply here.

    ReplyDelete
  10. :: yoink ::

    Indeed.

Hoss thanks you for your contribution.

    ReplyDelete
  11. KIDD (he who will be pants-shittered tomorrow)

    :: handshake ::

    ReplyDelete
  12. ThebrazilianpsychoApril 25, 2015 at 5:17 PM

    Am in the card?

    ReplyDelete
  13. It's not a bad place. This is my 3rd time living here so I keep getting drawn back.

    ReplyDelete
  14. ThebrazilianpsychoApril 25, 2015 at 5:23 PM

    No Brock Lesnar, no buys.

    ReplyDelete
  15. Still debating ordering extreme rules tomorrow even though it's free

    ReplyDelete
  16. "Two dudes with Attitudes" is SO mid-90s. I'm expecting black-eyed, Jaleel White-voiced Sonic the Hedgehog to come out with them.

    ReplyDelete
  17. ThebrazilianpsychoApril 25, 2015 at 5:26 PM

    Diesel & HBK?

    ReplyDelete
  18. But I wouldn't be buying it since it's free ;-)

    ReplyDelete
  19. I got the Network during week one. In it until they pull the plug.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Yup. Watch out for that nefarious Biff Kensington and his charges!

    ReplyDelete
  21. Nash and Michaels

    ReplyDelete
  22. ThebrazilianpsychoApril 25, 2015 at 5:30 PM

    oH SHIT.

    ReplyDelete
  23. But Sting had the 'Dudes With Attitudes' to battle the Horsemen in 1990.
    Just figured...

    ReplyDelete
  24. So what's a phrase today that will sound so dated in 20 years (like dudes with attitudes)?

    ReplyDelete
  25. ThebrazilianpsychoApril 25, 2015 at 5:33 PM

    What a maneuver!

    ReplyDelete
  26. TBS used to always have those "Sanford and Son" reruns queued up anytime the Braves had a rain delay back in the day. That's kinda on topic

    ReplyDelete
  27. TBS even ran Looney Tunes. I miss when they and TNT would run old cartoons.

    ReplyDelete
  28. The game came back from break, and the announcers called the Milwaukee Bucks the "young Bucks". I instinctively threw garbage at the TV and now my living room is filled with garbage :(

    ReplyDelete
  29. I don't even think Cartoon Network runs those. Keep in mind that I haven't turned to Cartoon Network in years. Looney Tunes do not age. Neither do Tom & Jerry

    ReplyDelete
  30. Just a typical early evening misconstruing what people say. Tonight I should go to a bar!

    ReplyDelete
  31. CN doesn't but Boomerang does. I only watch CN for Adult Swim. And some of the early 50s Looney Tunes in standard is more rich looking than today's toons in HD. Except for Seth's shows & the Simpsons.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Watched Taken 3 today. Kind of annoyed how a film with reasonably reality based violence became that. Still, it wasn't bad.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Was it exactly like the first two?

    ReplyDelete
  34. Plot wise? Pretty much. But there were a few things that annoyed me, specifically a car chase infected with movie physics.

    ReplyDelete
  35. They had attitude, but were they dynamic?

    ReplyDelete
  36. I can't Boomerang but I'd love to have it. The technicolor of the 50s holds up well but understand it was really expensive. Watched "Singing in the Rain" not too long ago and that holds up as well.

    ReplyDelete
  37. I was expecting a flurry of superkicks and a contrived finish.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Someone tell me again why we need a Saturday thread and a Saturday Night thread?

    ReplyDelete
  39. Cornette never turned on them with a tennis racket shot so they weren't very dynamic.

    ReplyDelete
  40. I haven't been keeping up on my DDP Yoga, and my Apter Driver is weak.

    ReplyDelete
  41. hi why main event not on saturday any more

    ReplyDelete
  42. I got it out of habit a couple weeks back, but I have only watched about two hours of stuff since.

    ReplyDelete
  43. Because fuck you.

(if you're going to lob a fatty over the plate, folks are gonna take a swing)

    ReplyDelete
  44. ThebrazilianpsychoApril 25, 2015 at 5:47 PM

    Cool avatar picture.

    ReplyDelete
  45. Bah. Sounds like I'll probably skip it or wait until it's on Netflix.

    ReplyDelete
  46. Look at the adjective: "Saturday"

    ReplyDelete
  47. Thanks! Are you still getting MK X in May? I might get it for 360.

    ReplyDelete
  48. Alot of older CN originals are migrating to Boomerang so alot of the 60s Hanna Barbaras are squeezed out. The quality was a factor in the decline of cartoons from that era. But the details were phenomenal.

    ReplyDelete
  49. There was a Mortal Kombat 9???

    ReplyDelete
  50. It was titled "Mortal Kombat". Somebody actually got paid for that title. Think about that!

    ReplyDelete
  51. ThebrazilianpsychoApril 25, 2015 at 5:50 PM

I'm waiting for the 360 version, MK is my favorite franchise.

    ReplyDelete
  52. Best for business

    ReplyDelete
  53. Pan's Labyrinth was a fucked up movie.

    ReplyDelete
  54. Bullet Club. That's one stable name WWE wouldn't touch with a ten foot pole.

    ReplyDelete
  55. Scott's Blog of Doom
    Because Fuck You, That's Why

    ReplyDelete
  56. Hmmm, I should have scrolled down.

    ReplyDelete
  57. Though they would steal the glove idea.

    ReplyDelete
  58. I respect that. No way i could do it. If it was 24/7 plus ppv, i would've been there with you.

    ReplyDelete
  59. What part of "fuck you" do you not understand?

    ReplyDelete
  60. I don't smoke weed and am not a fan of The Wizard of Oz. Yet, I have been struck by a strong urge to get stoned and watch that movie.

    #BoDSatNight

    ReplyDelete
  61. I can't even be bothered to create a new e-mail to get it for free

    ReplyDelete
  62. I understand it quite well, thanks. Say it all the time.

    ReplyDelete
  63. Burt Macklin, Man Without FearApril 25, 2015 at 5:54 PM

Oldboy is a fucked up movie.

    ReplyDelete
  64. ThebrazilianpsychoApril 25, 2015 at 5:55 PM

Event Horizon is fucked up movie.

    ReplyDelete
  65. so after making all that fuss about the style clash, lionheart is booked in a match with aj again. if he take the move that will be pretty hypocritical of him

    ReplyDelete
  66. Don't forget to cue up Dark Side of the Moon after the second MGM lion roar before it starts.

    ReplyDelete
  67. uh. Isn't that what the network is?

    ReplyDelete
  68. I suspect I will be as well, unless they SERIOUSLY piss me off.

    ReplyDelete
  69. I sorta watched the American version. Did not see the original.

    ReplyDelete
  70. Not a Floyd fan either, but I have always wanted to try that.

    ReplyDelete
  71. That company has been pissing me off for one thing or another since Vince's father owned the company. I don't watch as much as I did when I first got it but when there's a PPV or in the mood for something, it's there.

    ReplyDelete
  72. Just watched the "I am the one who knocks scene"

    Still awesome

    ReplyDelete
  73. Not even close my friend

    No wcw Saturday shows
    No mania
    No worldwide
    No PTW FROM THE BEGINNING
    No more wccw
    wccw
    No consistent schedule

    ReplyDelete
  74. Burt Macklin, Man Without FearApril 25, 2015 at 6:00 PM

I'm the opposite. Seen the original. Not the American.

    ReplyDelete
  75. Floyd's drummer jokingly stated once that the album was suppose to be cued up the Sound Of Music.

    ReplyDelete
  76. Gotcha. I never checked out the 24/7 web thing.

    ReplyDelete
  77. Trolling and "because [blank]". Hate both phrases

    ReplyDelete
  78. i still don't understand why the need for a remake

    ReplyDelete
  79. One of my all time favourite movies. Definitely in the top 3.

My favourite question to ask people about that movie: do you think what happened (the fantasy elements) were all real or in the girl's mind? I've heard arguments from both sides and I love discussing the matter.

    ReplyDelete
  80. Yup. Totally concur. But, had WM31 been really shitty, I would have been out.

    ReplyDelete
  81. ThebrazilianpsychoApril 25, 2015 at 6:02 PM

It's her mind, that movie is more fucked up version of Alice.

    ReplyDelete
  82. Because wcw is timeless. Otherwise it would be old already

    ReplyDelete
  83. I was hoping to see the old TV tapings from Allentown & Harrisberg when I used to stay up until 1AM on a Saturday night as a kid.

    ReplyDelete
  84. Just watched a horror flick with the girlfriend last night that I'd recommend for horror buffs:

The Babadook. Super low-budget Australian film about a single mother who reads a scary monster book to her son...and then her son and the monster are both possessed by it.

Really great stuff, with reliance on strong storytelling/acting and almost NO jump scares.

    ReplyDelete
  85. Been awhile since I saw it, but I'd say in her mind.

    ReplyDelete
  86. I'm hoping "get rekt" dies very soon.

    ReplyDelete
  87. ThebrazilianpsychoApril 25, 2015 at 6:04 PM

Me and my girlfriend wanna see that movie.

    ReplyDelete
  88. Oh yeah, absolutely. Like a grown-up Alice in Wonderland.

What I thought was great was the best, scariest, or most grotesque parts were the reality stuff with her stepfather.

    ReplyDelete
  89. Common phrase in online gaming. It's replaced "owned" or "pwned" or whatever.

    ReplyDelete
  90. It was looking that way until Lesnar showed color and bounced Reigns around like a rubber ball. That, Bryan & Ziggler headshots at the top of the ladders and Harper nearly killing Ambrose were the highlights for me.

    ReplyDelete
  91. It's on (American) Netflix. Since I'm in Canada, I had to "legally obtain" it.

    ReplyDelete
  92. ThebrazilianpsychoApril 25, 2015 at 6:06 PM

Del Toro said it was based out of Alice. A lot of elements scream Alice.

    ReplyDelete
  93. Oh right forgot
No wwwf tv from the 70s

    Add it to my list.

I realize, i'm in the minority, but throw some of that shit up there and they'd still be getting my money. Server space must cost them a lot. It's the only thing i can come up with.

    ReplyDelete
  94. I thought the ladder match was "meh." The main event was awesome, and the card on the whole was ok for me.

    ReplyDelete
  95. One phrase that is so dated from just 10 years ago is "x is in my top 8"

    ReplyDelete
  96. I'm talking about the tv service. The web service was ok, to the history of the territories and the ic title were great.

    ReplyDelete
  97. Wonder Woman's original weakness was being tied up by a man?

    :: pondering ::

Well, I always did want to tie up Linda Carter.

    ReplyDelete
  98. That and they think the subscribers are younger and would have little to no interest in stuff like that. They had different matches for different markets for syndication. Would really dig that stuff.

    ReplyDelete
  99. Here's a little known fact for the Parks and Rec crowd. Steve Higgins was the inspiration for Andy Dwyer.

    ReplyDelete
  100. Sasquatch/Bigfoot folks might like Exist. I'm not a horror guy, but I thought this was pretty good.

    ReplyDelete
  101. It was mine as well until Fisk's "I am the ill intent" speech in Daredevil.

    ReplyDelete
  102. It was for me too, just two spots stood out. And damn, if Lesnar was run out there on a weekly basis, what a difference it would make in the current product.

    ReplyDelete
  103. And I probably could tie up Gal Gadot.

(I'm sorry, I'd love for her to prove me wrong, but I'm just not buying her as Wonder Woman. Like, at all. Even a little bit)

    ReplyDelete
  104. They've always said there about catching a wide audience, but there isn't enough for people like me. I re subscribed once tnt and ptw went up, but i got bored and cancelled after mania.

    ReplyDelete
  105. ThebrazilianpsychoApril 25, 2015 at 6:12 PM

I wish time limit draws came back.

    ReplyDelete
  106. Which episode was that

    ReplyDelete
  107. IT's easy to think that, but I'm afraid they'd find a way to fuck it up.

    ReplyDelete
  108. What, distracted roll up finishers aren't doing it for you?

    ReplyDelete
  109. Burt Macklin, Man Without FearApril 25, 2015 at 6:14 PM

Oh hell yeah. Fisk's ill intent is top shelf stuff. I've watched it about 10 times already.

    ReplyDelete
  110. ThebrazilianpsychoApril 25, 2015 at 6:14 PM

You can protect both guys with draws.

    ReplyDelete
  111. ThebrazilianpsychoApril 25, 2015 at 6:14 PM

    GINA CARANO!

    ReplyDelete
  112. A certain Gadot costar in Fast 6

    ReplyDelete
  113. Yeah I heard it was great

    ReplyDelete
  114. Come on, Bulls!

    ReplyDelete
  115. Personally, I'd say Olga Kurkulina (Mother Russia in Kick-Ass 2), if only JUST because of her body type. Acting and face-wise, a terrible choice, but for someone to play a frigging Amazonian warrior? She'd be perfect.

    ReplyDelete
  116. lol - sadly you're right. I can see Steph verbally dressing him down on a weekly basis because she knows she can get away with it. Might as well get Lesnar is small doses just for that reason alone.

    ReplyDelete
  117. I agree, so long as it stays in the mid-card. Keep that stuff out of world title matches.

    ReplyDelete
  118. Too much thought involved for the writers.

    ReplyDelete
  119. "Yep Mode" Abeyance Brown ©April 25, 2015 at 6:17 PM

Heard it was good as well.

    ReplyDelete
  120. Stephen A Smith implied a few days ago that only women could hate Floyd because of his domestic abuse and said today Tom Brady is a racist for skipping the Pats White House trip.

Whatever the Olbermanns, Beadles, etc need to do to put pressure on ESPN to fire him, they need to.

    ReplyDelete
  121. ThebrazilianpsychoApril 25, 2015 at 6:17 PM

You can build a sympathetic face and a slimy heel in world title matches.

    ReplyDelete
  122. SHOOT THE FUCKING BALL DERRICK

    ReplyDelete
  123. Becuase they tease you with a tease and don't follow through. Kinda like my dating life as a teenager.

    ReplyDelete
  124. Would work great for the chickenshit heel to hold onto the title

    ReplyDelete
  125. I used to like the time limit draws where the authority figure came out and declared that the match MUST CONTINUE!!! Crowd always ate that up..

    ReplyDelete
  126. :: pulls pistol, Last Boy Scout style ::

    What...that's not what you meant?

    ReplyDelete
  127. Goddamn all day hockey, I wanted to go out and see Ex Machina but I got lazy for all the puck offerings.

    ReplyDelete
  128. The Network all but schedules itself. World Championship Wrestling could run, say at 6:05 ET on Saturdays, AWA and Wrestling at the Chase could run Sunday mornings. Or Total God Damned Divas can run 24/7 and piss me off, whatevs.

    ReplyDelete
  129. There's been a bunch of guys that have skipped that trip, including guys on color. Why when Brady does it does Stephen A. bring up race? He and Jemele Hill should've been canned years ago by ESPN. They are 150% racist.

    ReplyDelete
  130. Anything to get rid of distraction roll ups, count outs, etc

    ReplyDelete
  131. ThebrazilianpsychoApril 25, 2015 at 6:19 PM

Rollins, goes 30 minutes against Roman/Dean/Neville and escapes because time runs out.

    ReplyDelete
  132. Howard Finkel got the loudest pops of his career when he said that.

    ReplyDelete
  133. What was the reason for him not going?

    ReplyDelete
  134. MJ skipped White House trips with weaker excuses (gambling).

    ReplyDelete
  135. Absolutely pathetic.

    ReplyDelete
  136. "Yep Mode" Abeyance Brown ©April 25, 2015 at 6:20 PM

    "360 No Scope!"

    ReplyDelete
  137. The original is incredible, seek it out.

    ReplyDelete
  138. A GOAT villain in that movie

    ReplyDelete
  139. There was a segment on His and Hers, an ESPN show with Michael Smith and Jemele Hill, that was aired last week when I was watching and it showed them dressed up as people in a barbershop. They must've said the word "ass" fifteen times over five minutes on a NOON ESPN show.

    ReplyDelete
  140. "Ladies and gentlemen, the time limit has expired and I have the referee's official decision. He rules this contest . . . . . A DRAW!"

    ReplyDelete
  141. Smith picking on the wrong guy. Brady=ratings during the season.
At least that Boston Bruin was honest about not going - He just didn't like Obama's policies.

    ReplyDelete
  142. "Yep Mode" Abeyance Brown ©April 25, 2015 at 6:23 PM

"A Draw" needs to be said in Cena's voice.

    ReplyDelete
  143. Face Austin and face Vince in the same ring together is just an insane dynamic. Wish there was more of this. Just two guys who's done everything they can to each other just accepting that neither guy would budge and that they just have to live with each other.

    ReplyDelete
  144. Beadle was too busy putting up with Colin Cowherd trying to get in her.

    ReplyDelete
  145. SAS and Jemele Hill are The Authority of ESPN, just insufferable folks dominating the network every day. We should be thankful they don't have their own show together

    ReplyDelete
  146. But he's on first take with bayless who also sucks

    ReplyDelete
  147. Fucking six whole days until the Avengers movie.. Trying to avoid spoilers, but everytime I check my yahoo mail there's a freaking article about the movie's post credit scene or surprise characters on the main page.

    ReplyDelete
  148. Michael Smith should be paired with Skip Bayless and they should make First Take an extra hour.

    ReplyDelete
  149. Andy Dwyer/Johnny Karate "arresting" John Cena still makes me laugh my ass off

    http://uproxx.com/prowrestling/2015/02/heres-martial-arts-superstar-john-cena-getting-arrested-by-johnny-karate-on-parks-and-recreation/

    ReplyDelete
  150. With all this talk from WWE about wanting to make inroads into different countries, I'm kind of surprised they haven't tried to do some sort of super show with NJPW. It's not unprecedented for them to at least sort of lease out different Japanese wrestlers to work with them from different Japanese promotions, right?

    ReplyDelete
  151. Yeah I've just been avoiding my Yahoo feed completely

    ReplyDelete
  152. LOL at WWE partnering with any company

    ReplyDelete
  153. Little 5-foot nothing sassy black woman the only person Rock hasn't laid the verbal smackdown to yet.

    ReplyDelete
  154. Nah, that would be LeBatard. SO insufferable. His insane father is the good point of his show.

    ReplyDelete
  155. ThebrazilianpsychoApril 25, 2015 at 6:27 PM

    They used to.

    ReplyDelete
  156. At least Bayless offers bad opinions in sports. SAS offers bad opinions as a human being.

    ReplyDelete
  157. Yep. Their shows with AJPW and NJPW were pretty fun.

    ReplyDelete
  158. I like LeBetard; at least he knows he's an idiot.

    ReplyDelete
  159. ThebrazilianpsychoApril 25, 2015 at 6:29 PM

    Muta jobbing to Hogan, bullshit.

There's a video of Flair defending the WWF title against Tenryu (not in badass old man mode yet).

    ReplyDelete
  160. They already spoiled a major plot point for the show Arrow before I could watch it. I think i will stick to my mail app on my phone for the next week.

    ReplyDelete
  161. Mexican pizzas are neither Mexican nor pizza.

    ReplyDelete
  162. The Flair/Tenryu match goes like 40 minutes, too.

    ReplyDelete
  163. ThebrazilianpsychoApril 25, 2015 at 6:30 PM

Tenryu is someone I would not try to piss off.

    ReplyDelete
  164. And neither are Italian either.

    ReplyDelete
  165. Titan Sinking mentioned the Bret/Lafitte match was a sleeper MOTYC so I'll definitely watch this cloesly.

    ReplyDelete
  166. Yeah - that's when business was slow and Vince would play the father card and get the old man's cronies to go business with him. Now - forget it. You're never see a joint promotion card with WWE.

    ReplyDelete
  167. So about the Booker T WE COMIN FOR YOU clip, what was Mean Gene having Stevie Ray take a look at?

    ReplyDelete
  168. Spoiler: RDJ steals the show again

    ReplyDelete
  169. I was watching an episode of Primetime Wrestling just yesterday and this jobber had on a NJPW jacket. No way that could happen today!!

    ReplyDelete
  170. You can bet PER round in the Maywather/Pacquiao fight on Bovada.

    ReplyDelete
  171. Spoiler: black widow is a slut

    ReplyDelete
  172. I like Stephen A, and am a fan of First Take, but I haven't been listening lately. Doesn't sound like something he'd say to me.

    ReplyDelete
  173. The movie has already leaked online. Disney was kinda dumb to do a staggered release.

    ReplyDelete
  174. YOU RUINED IT.. YOU RUINED IT!!

    ReplyDelete
  175. From WWF champion to feuding with a crazy old man to feuding with an announcer to feuding with the announcer's dentist to feuding with a Pirate over a leather jacket. Daniel Bryan has nothing on '95 Bret

    ReplyDelete
  176. Just popped in the blu-ray for one of may all time faves; Big Jake.

    Sentimental reminiscence mode: engaged.
