  2. Goddamn, I really should send Scott Keith a fruit basket or something. Any time he posts a link to my blog, traffic skyrockets.

I think I'll snail-mail him a copy of both of my books once they're out as a thank you.

LolHamiltonWins. Why do I even bother watching this shit?

    ReplyDelete
  4. "The Mets took a 2-0 lead on the Braves in the first inning of today's game. It's the first time the Braves have trailed this season, after a 5-0 start."

    Damn.

    ReplyDelete
  5. Now the team can learn how to come from behind.

    ReplyDelete
  6. Do you do the Mick Foley cheap pop-thumbs up every time you mention that you're an author?

    ReplyDelete
  7. Being at work on Sunday should be illegal.

    ReplyDelete
  8. Orton's run from late 2007-mid 08 was basically a poor man's version of 2000 HHH.

    ReplyDelete
  9. Heh...kinda? I imagine my shameless self-promotion gets annoying after awhile, but I can't help it. It's my absolute dream come true to finally have a book published, let alone TWO.

    ReplyDelete
  10. They did, until Bartolo Colon got his first RBI in a decade. 3-2 Mets, Bottom 4th.

  11. In other baseball news:

The game was so heated a nearby vehicle caught on fire, and caused a delay as smoke blew over the field.

    I've written 6 books, they've published 4.

    ReplyDelete

    ReplyDelete
  15. Everything okay?

    ReplyDelete
  16. Adam "Colorado" CurryApril 12, 2015 at 12:55 PM

Fuck the Mets. Every Mets fan I've ever met is a complete asshole.

    ReplyDelete
  17. As the *WOOOOOOOO* winner of the BOD March Madness pool, I hope y'all enjoy my shoot interview choices. They were chosen based on my interest in the time period, the train wreck/snarky possibilities, and overall entertainment value. Enjoy, ya sorry bastards!

  18. Cena's hair situation in 2008 was weird.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Adam "Colorado" CurryApril 12, 2015 at 12:59 PM

Man, these new Indy cars are weird looking. And WTF is this track? It's like the racing equivalent of a backyard wrestling ring.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Nah he did grow it out a bit but by the end of the year I'm pretty sure he went back to having it shaved on the sides

    ReplyDelete
  24. Extant1979 - Extreme SuperstarApril 12, 2015 at 1:01 PM

I suddenly feel sorry for Bayless...

    ReplyDelete
  25. I can see why Cena prefers to go with the crew cut because other wise he really does look like Mark Wahlberg's long lost brother lol.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Extant1979 - Extreme SuperstarApril 12, 2015 at 1:03 PM

It's honestly not terrible, pretty easy night, actually, I just haven't adjusted to the night shift yet. Waking up a little early to spend time with the wife probably doesn't help.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Man there's a reason people pushing 30 are usually quitting their bands rather than just starting them. Getting 4 people together when we've all got jobs, kids in my case, and finding places to practice with drums set up, let alone gigs, is such a pain in the ass. Totally worth it but i'm really wishing i'd have been doing this 10 years ago.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Nah, only one of the 4 was chosen for it's pure awfulness

    ReplyDelete
  29. Adam "Colorado" CurryApril 12, 2015 at 1:04 PM

I've worked nights pretty much my whole life, I'm just not a morning person.

    What do you do?

    ReplyDelete
  30. I just realized.

It's been a few days since we got a daily update hasn't it?

    ReplyDelete
  31. Samoans are still mad, news at 11

    ReplyDelete
  32. Adam "Colorado" CurryApril 12, 2015 at 1:05 PM

We got one Friday I think. Bayless takes the weekends off.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Oh. Then nevermind I guess I just hadn't noticed none on weekends.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Extant1979 - Extreme SuperstarApril 12, 2015 at 1:07 PM

Almost done with week 2 as s page designer for the Daily News.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Adam "Colorado" CurryApril 12, 2015 at 1:08 PM

    The NYC Daily News?

    ReplyDelete
  36. Odd. I have not seen this.

    ReplyDelete

Press releases, Piers. I'm telling you. I really liked the first book, I'm on board when the second one comes out.

    ReplyDelete
  39. Extant1979 - Extreme SuperstarApril 12, 2015 at 1:09 PM

    The one and only.

    ReplyDelete
  40. Doesn't he normally do them on Saturdays?

    ReplyDelete
  41. Adam "Colorado" CurryApril 12, 2015 at 1:09 PM

    Just going on personal experience.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Are you looking forward to working with Dolan?

    ReplyDelete
  43. Interesting question - who had it worse - braves or mets fans? Each have one title in past 30 years and atl had all those close calls and always fell short.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Most Mets fans I know are pretty cool. I get shit at Mets Braves games but I am vocally rooting for the road team

    ReplyDelete
  45. Just finished. Definitely worth a binge, I think if it were a weekly, it'd have tanked "ratings" wise the way it was structured. Wasn't a daredevil comics person so no dog in that hunt

    ReplyDelete
  46. Adam "Colorado" CurryApril 12, 2015 at 1:13 PM

Every once in a while if there's something going on, but not often. I usually post the Saturday thread, but I've been at work the last few weeks and trying to post from my phone is such a pain the ass it's not worth the trouble. There's like 15 people with posting privileges, someone step up!

    ReplyDelete
  47. Not talking this thread today, but in general does it seem like the trolls are really coming out of the woodwork? Maybe I'm not around enough to get a proper feel, but it just seems ever since WrestleMania...

    ReplyDelete
  48. Adam "Colorado" CurryApril 12, 2015 at 1:15 PM

Yeah, I didn't mean it as a blanket statement. It just seems like every dickhead I know also happens to love the Mets.

    Go Blue Jays.

    ReplyDelete
  49. I think there's a lesser mod presence than in a while more than anything

    ReplyDelete
  50. Hillary's campaign off to a rousing start if Twitter trends are any indication: #WhyImNotVotingForHillary

    ReplyDelete
  51. Going to see the Jays next week

    ReplyDelete
  52. Very anti-climactic announcement, but I think that was on purpose.

    ReplyDelete
  53. "if Twitter trends are any indication"

    They're not.

    ReplyDelete
  54. Adam "Colorado" CurryApril 12, 2015 at 1:17 PM

I've found it to be the same 4 or 5 shitheads that have always been here, but I haven't been been around much during the day.

    ReplyDelete
  55. Eh, I know, more than likely RNC twitter botting than anything. Like real voters give a shit enough to tweet about this shit on a random April sunday afternoon

    ReplyDelete
  56. Adam "Colorado" CurryApril 12, 2015 at 1:18 PM

I'm tempted to create a burner account so I can upvote this twice. Fuck Twatter.

    ReplyDelete
  57. Adam "Colorado" CurryApril 12, 2015 at 1:19 PM

    In Toronto?

    ReplyDelete
  58. Yes. They play the Braves

    ReplyDelete
  59. Adam "Colorado" CurryApril 12, 2015 at 1:21 PM

    That place is a dump.

Ever go to the CN Tower?

    ReplyDelete
  60. No, I refuse.

I like Rogers Centre. Quaker Steak and Lube is amazing

    ReplyDelete
  61. Extant1979 - Extreme SuperstarApril 12, 2015 at 1:22 PM

Trying not to think about it. I'm also keeping my options open. I have another interview with a nonprofit being scheduled for sometime in the next week or so, just to see if I can find something with a more normal schedule.

    ReplyDelete
  62. She should have just called it a day. Obama took her window. That said, she still has a decent chance since repubs are apparently taking their applications at a mental institution

    ReplyDelete
  63. I just don't see how both the News and Post can survive in the next few years unless Dolan and Murdoch are willing to just have losses

    ReplyDelete
  64. If you have a shot at being president, you might as well do it.

    ReplyDelete
  65. We're a year away from anything meaning anything. The opposition research to Hillary has been compiled over the last 20+ years. We now get a year of Dems pretending to field other potential candidates, Repubs concern trolling, and the utter freaksow that's going to be the Republican primary. Then 7 months of pretending it's a real race til Hilary probably wins.

    ReplyDelete
  66. And I will love every minute of it

    ReplyDelete
  67. Adam "Colorado" CurryApril 12, 2015 at 1:24 PM

    Afraid of heights?

I've never been to the Quaker Steak & Lube there, but we have one here and it's pretty sweet. Great name too. But seriously, the SkyDome is a shithole.

    ReplyDelete
  68. No, it's just a glorified tourist trap.

I like that it's a dome, so if it's cold, you're fine, and it has this rundown B grade charm that makes me smile. I've never seen the Jays win either.

    ReplyDelete
  69. Adam "Colorado" CurryApril 12, 2015 at 1:25 PM

Does it really matter in the end?

    ReplyDelete
  70. I'm curious if she makes Gore's mistake and shuns Obama. Cost him the election imo, pussyfooting around Bill. People that hate Obama chances are already hate Hillary, so you run the risk of alienating Obama backers

    ReplyDelete
  71. The ad-bots have stormed out in the last couple weeks... some posts eating 2-3 of them.

    ReplyDelete
  72. Obama's already come out in favor of her. I think she'll accept an endorsement and ride coattail on some issue but not others.

Yea, Gore made a huge mistake. He lost his home state!

    ReplyDelete
  73. Adam "Colorado" CurryApril 12, 2015 at 1:28 PM

Funny, I've been to about 10 Jays games and I don't think I've ever seen them lose. The place is just out of date though. And the 500 section is absolutely terrifying.

    ReplyDelete
  74. Yep, that's why I never really got behind the "butttt Floridaaaaa" people, if you can't pull your home state coming off a fairly successful presidency, fuck it

    ReplyDelete
  75. I sat there with my friend and had no problems. We moved around a lot which I won't be able to do this time because I'm a cripple

    ReplyDelete
  76. In fairness, Al Gore and Tennessee have very little in common. It'd be like running Al Sharpton or Jesse Jackson out of 1960's Alabama. Sure he's from there, but most of the people would rather vote for anybody else.

    ReplyDelete
  77. Adam "Colorado" CurryApril 12, 2015 at 1:30 PM

Picking Leiberman as VP didn't help either. That alone cost him my vote.

    ReplyDelete
  78. ...arkansas too in a close one, iirc.

    ReplyDelete
  79. Hillary is so far and away the front runner right now.

She has better odds then she did in 2012

    ReplyDelete
  80. Trending is EXCEEDINGLY easy. You know how WWE goes nuts over trending on twitter.

You know who else is #1 trend on twitter during ppvs--ROH. A company with less than 1/100th the fan base

    ReplyDelete
  81. Adam "Colorado" CurryApril 12, 2015 at 1:33 PM

    No one asked you hosier.

BTW, I'm clearly joking. Now go get me a poutine and a Molson.

    ReplyDelete
  82. Eh, it's mostly Republicans going batshit. I saw stuff like "Because she says she loves kids but wants TO KILL BABIES WITH ABORTIONS!" and other shit.

    ReplyDelete
  83. Adam "Colorado" CurryApril 12, 2015 at 1:37 PM

I love how people think that abortion is made illegal it will go away. Because that totally worked with drugs!

    ReplyDelete
  84. Another random: You'd think if media companies gave enough of a shit about piracy as they claim they do, they'd have come up with some type of randomized fingerprinting to find whoever leaked Thrones down to the person. But now HBO can claim some bullshit piracy economics crap to say they've lost eleventy jillion dollars

    ReplyDelete
  85. but it would be murder.

They would get to prosecute people caught abortioning.

    They'd love that

    ReplyDelete
  86. I'd imagine in most cases the best strategy is to accept the endorsement and have the incumbent stump for you at the DNC but don't rely too much on it for most of your campaign. In Hillary's case it really doesn't make a huge difference since by now most voters have some kind of opinion of her.

    ReplyDelete
  87. The gap between how much I want the dems to win and how much I actually like the dems is depressingly large.

Like, the Democrats are awful--how the Republicans manage to be consistently worse via batshittery is astounding.

    ReplyDelete
  88. I think there's a pretty solidly understood quid pro quo between the two: she helped him get his 8--he'll help her get hers.

    ReplyDelete
  89. Adam "Colorado" CurryApril 12, 2015 at 1:44 PM

You can just take a pill for that shit now...

The ideal solution would be to try to do everything to make sure chicks don't get knocked up in the first place, unless they want kids. Oh, wait, conservatives hate contraception too. Fuck...

    ReplyDelete
  90. Not really, because the campaigns never end. It's just that now once you're elected president, the other party gets to actively govern against you. Only every few cycles do the people end up getting pissed off enough that they start tossing people out in midterm elections, then everyone pretends to play nice awhile and pass some legislation. But soon enough it's back to the tug-of-war game.

    ReplyDelete
  91. My son and I just got to meet Honky Tonk Man at Cherry City ComicCon. He was super nice and fun to talk to.

    ReplyDelete
  92. Adam "Colorado" CurryApril 12, 2015 at 1:47 PM

Okay, seriously this time, why do you even care? You live in Ontario.

Anyway, it doesn't really matter. Democrats, republicans, it's all the same, bought and paid for by corporate CEOs.

    ReplyDelete
  93. Cabrera is seriously the best baseball player I've seen in my lifetime

    ReplyDelete
  94. #WeAre2CW trended worldwide during a show once with only like a thousand people there. It was their first iPPV though.

    ReplyDelete
  95. Adam "Colorado" CurryApril 12, 2015 at 1:53 PM

Ugly, ugly crash in this race. Somehow this guy drove away, but had he hit that fence in the middle of the car instead of the back he'd probably have broken his neck.

    ReplyDelete
  96. Darth Dr. Facts VaderApril 12, 2015 at 1:53 PM

    Beisbol

    ReplyDelete
  97. The last 4 presidential elections have shown that its not enough to get your side to hate the other guy (this time girl). Your side has to like your own candidate.

They're gonna scream Whitewater and Vince Foster and Benghazi to the top of their lungs, and it'll all mean nothing the minute Hillary wins the primary. Meanwhile her potential opponents will be arm wrestling to see who gets to man a .50 caliber on top of the US/Mexico border...

    ReplyDelete
  98. Has there been anything noteworthy to post

    ReplyDelete

  116. Best hitter of the last ten years. But overall player, probably not.

    ReplyDelete
  117. Adam "Colorado" CurryApril 12, 2015 at 2:10 PM

Wow, these Verizon ads are beyond awful.

    ReplyDelete
  118. I don't see the Republicans biting the bullet and nominating a moderate, sadly.

    ReplyDelete
  119. I'll just vote for Kodos.

    (Or a third party candidate).

    ReplyDelete
  120. Adam "Colorado" CurryApril 12, 2015 at 2:13 PM

I'd just write-in vote for myself but I was born a year too late.

    ReplyDelete
  121. Adam "Colorado" CurryApril 12, 2015 at 2:15 PM

This race is a fucking mess, no wonder IndyCar is about to go bankrupt.

    ReplyDelete
  122. Jordan Speith chasing history at the Masters, -17 with the Woods record at -18.

    ReplyDelete
  123. Regardless of what you think of Barry Bonds he is the best hitter of the 21st century. Gwynn is the best hitter of the 90s. George Brett the 80s. I don't know about the 70s. Let's go Pete Rose?!

    ReplyDelete
  124. Bonds retired in 2007. Since then, Cabrera has been the best pure hitter and Bonds last good year was in 2004.

    ReplyDelete
  125. I'm hit or miss on elections myself. Depends on what's going on down-ballet usually, on the state & local level.

    ReplyDelete
  126. Bonds' 00-04 surpasses anything anyone has done this century. I think Cabrera is up there but people actually pitch to him

    ReplyDelete
  127. Watching NBA TV's Bad Boys doc...which is basically just the 30 for 30 episode with the licensed music removed

    ReplyDelete
  128. Agree. But the last ten years, Cabrera has been the best pure hitter in baseball.

    ReplyDelete
  129. Hitting 40+ homers in a season is a great year. Hitting 25 or so like Bonds was in his final years is a good year.

    ReplyDelete
  130. ThebrazilianpsychoApril 12, 2015 at 2:24 PM

So, Republicans are the scum of the US?

Sounds like the PP/PSDB in here.

    ReplyDelete
  131. those things are starting to get really repetitive. It's like a WWE main event style

    ReplyDelete
  132. .270 with 25 homers is a decent year in 2004. Since then the game has moved away from just benefiting the hitters.

    ReplyDelete
  133. I agree with this.

    ReplyDelete
  134. Eh, both parties suck, Repubs pray on societal fears though so they're the scummiest

    ReplyDelete
  135. ThebrazilianpsychoApril 12, 2015 at 2:26 PM

We have a lot in common, somehow they're dominating.

    ReplyDelete
  136. ThebrazilianpsychoApril 12, 2015 at 2:26 PM

Like PP/PSDB, they still use the "communist danger" argument.

    ReplyDelete
  137. But how many teams would kill for those numbers right now though? I can think of at least 5-10.

    ReplyDelete
  138. Bogied 7, but I think he'll still pass the record.

    ReplyDelete
  139. Nitpick: Daredevil is one word. :)

    ReplyDelete
  140. ThebrazilianpsychoApril 12, 2015 at 2:28 PM

    Fuck conservatism.

One of the best things Kevin Smith did was future endeavored Karen Page. So long, not gonna miss you.

    ReplyDelete
  143. He was falling apart at the end yesterday too, not to mention what happened last year.

    ReplyDelete
  144. What's crazy about Bonds' final year is that I don't remember him playing that much, but he still managed to bang out 28 homers.

    ReplyDelete
  145. Netflix is like crack. I've just binged 4 seasons of The League. The family practically had to peel me off my bed just to get me to run into town to do some laundry.

    ReplyDelete
  150. ThebrazilianpsychoApril 12, 2015 at 2:30 PM

Islam is not problem in here.

    ReplyDelete
  151. I can't really blame them for using outdated societal fears. You'd think something like "praying the gay away" wouldn't work at all in 2015, but somehow people still eat that shit up.

    ReplyDelete
  152. Rose only three back too. I bo lieve in Spieth but those footsteps are coming

  154. Must've hurt, yeah.

    ReplyDelete
  155. That was just a weird year, everyone knew SF was gonna ride the Aaron chase then wash their hands clean of him as soon as the season was over

    ReplyDelete
  156. The definition of video game numbers.

    ReplyDelete
  157. I had been flip flopping them so now I know!

    ReplyDelete
  158. 232 fucking walks.

    ReplyDelete
  159. Looked good on the approach after.

    ReplyDelete
  160. 100 walks in a season is terrific. He more than doubled that!

    ReplyDelete
  161. He got that in INTENTIONAL passes

    ReplyDelete
  162. Oh for sure, even 14 year old me knew that season was his curtain call(and rightfully so, even if he didn't have the 'roids stuff, I'd still think he need to move on). The Yankees could take a page out SF's book.

    ReplyDelete
  163. Well yeah, but the game is different now. But Bonds 00-04 will never be matched.

    I'll be in touch.

  165. So Jon Hamm was a psycho frat boy douche, eh?

    ReplyDelete
  166. Continuing on this Bonds' stuff, let's take a look at his best year pre-98.
    46 HR
    123 RBI
    126 BB
    .336 BA
    43 IBB
Yeah, he was taking steroids alright.

    ReplyDelete
  167. Bonds was the GOAT before he left Pittsburgh.

    ReplyDelete
  168. For sure, I can't think of many greatness of players' stretch that rival those 4 years.

    ReplyDelete
  169. Wow, Tiger may be done with that injury, he shanked that tee shot really fucking bad

    ReplyDelete
  170. I wonder how Griffey Jr. would have ended up if for not all the injuries he had.

    ReplyDelete
  171. He would have definitely been in the conversation.

    ReplyDelete
  172. I wonder if Cleveland is thinking about tanking so they don't have to face Boston.

    ReplyDelete
  173. Tiger is turning into late stage Ric Flair, but without the money problems. It's his life but why keep putting yourself through it, ya know?

    ReplyDelete
  174. And knowing is half the battle!

    ReplyDelete
  175. As long as they don't face a good big man they will be fine.

    ReplyDelete
  176. 88-54, everybody better have had a day off for the Cavs, lol.

    ReplyDelete
  177. Boston can give a team a scare in the 1st. The Hawks are banged up and if I am them, I want no part of the Celtics right now.

    ReplyDelete
  178. It looks like Lebron and Kyrie didn't play. So a little more understandable.

    C'mon Vasco, win this shit.

    ReplyDelete
  180. Weird how the dark horse in the East isn't Washington or Toronto, but fucking Boston.

    ReplyDelete
  181. He had over 500 AB's just once the last 12 years of his career and still had 630 career HR's. Amazing

    ReplyDelete
  182. Since trading Rondo and Jeff Green they started to win. Shows how much those two helped the team. Hell, Evan Turner is looking like a solid NBA player now.

Stop cheating in Flamengo's favor ref.

    ReplyDelete
  184. 2 games left, Toronto and Chicago tied at 48-32 for 3/4 (Toronto tiebreaker)...one seed has Atlanta in the second round, the other has Cleveland. Hmm.

    ReplyDelete
  185. Flipping to "Moneyball" during Masters breaks, forgot Andy Dwyer played Scott Hatteberg

    ReplyDelete
  186. That movie totally ignoring their pitching staff in favor of a Bad News Bears narrative is hilarious.

    ReplyDelete
  187. Book did the same thing too. And Tejada and Chavez, who both had 30+ HRs that year

    ReplyDelete
  188. "What's your biggest fear?"
"A baseball hit in my general direction."

Macklin, you son of a bitch.

    ReplyDelete
  189. Football's popularity leads to more attention given when teams with worse records host playoff games, but same deal happens in basketball...Bulls swept Toronto in the regular season, but the Raps have the seeding tiebreaker as winners of the crappy Atlantic Division.

    ReplyDelete
  190. I dont vote at all, so its not just you. Until the day comes that my single vote will change an election, its staying that way

    ReplyDelete
  191. Triple Crown in 2012. You're fucking high if your going to say there was a better player in the game

    ReplyDelete
  192. Gotta get that World Series win. JUST ONE and ill be content and happy

    ReplyDelete
  193. So there's zero reason for them to tank.

    ReplyDelete
  194. I think only Atlanta worries Cleveland.
