BoD Wednesday Night Thread

Talk about everything going on tonight here

Comments

  1. I'm probably going to miss this thread as I'm heading off to bed, so I'll leave you with a taste of how court proceedings take place in South London.

  2. 4 corners match with Headbangers, Godwins, Truth Commission, and New Age Outlaws. When Mosh is the best wrestler in an 8 man match you know you are in for a rough few minutes.

    ReplyDelete
  3. I will not be watching episode 3 of Daredevil this evening. Wife is very tired and will likely go to bed after she makes dinner and puts the boy down.

This has been my watching Daredevil update.

    ReplyDelete
  4. What does the wife going to sleep have to do with you not watching Daredevil? Is she making you go to sleep too?

    ReplyDelete
  5. She wants to watch it too. It's a thing that we're doing.

    ReplyDelete
  6. Stanley Cup Playoffs BAABBAAAYY

    ReplyDelete
  7. Ah, then continue doing your thing.

    ReplyDelete
  8. I heard the NBA regular season was about to conclude. I'm shocked because I was of the belief that the NBA regular season did not have an ending date.

    ReplyDelete
  9. It's the only thing that I know how to do.

    ReplyDelete
  10. No, that's the playoffs.

    ReplyDelete
  11. It's the only thing you need to know how to do. Nothing else is relevant.

    ReplyDelete
  12. man NBC sports extra is sucking ass..I'm giving up on watching here at work already

    ReplyDelete
  13. Swim up the CRIC. I heard it's FREE.

    ReplyDelete
  14. I swear the 1st round lasted for a month last year.

    ReplyDelete
  15. The playoffs have been too awesome the past several years for me to be mad.

    ReplyDelete
  16. I gave up on wrestling after the Hulk days and after the end of the Attitude days. Bout to give up again but it feels different for some reason. The other two times I didn't really care and for some reason I hate that I don't want to watch anymore.

    ReplyDelete
  17. They were great but no reason for them to only play one game a week.

    ReplyDelete
  18. I love you already, Prince Puma.

    ReplyDelete
  19. It's cool that NBC became so committed to showcasing the NHL. I'm glad they left ESPN.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Hmmm. Smells like Michael Cole may be getting a stunner here...

    ReplyDelete
  21. Matt Striker with a Nick Bockwinkel reference!

    ReplyDelete
  22. Really, what else does NBC have to showcase?

    The Mysteries of Laura?

    ReplyDelete
  23. The NBC Sports Networks not NBC proper.

    ReplyDelete
  24. If it's like the rest of us it's a feeling of being pushed away by the show itself.

    ReplyDelete
  25. 80 regular seasons games and three months of playoffs!

No wonder I don't pay attention until the very end.

    ReplyDelete
  26. They are even putting them on USA and CNBC. My one complaint is they use Comcast feeds for some games. I hate biased commentary for the playoffs.

    ReplyDelete
  27. NASCAR and the NBA really need to cut down their schedules

    ReplyDelete
  28. Striker is a known JCP mark. I imagine AWA would fall into his wheelhouse too.

    ReplyDelete
  29. good way to put it. I quit them the first two times and now they are quitting me.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Is that why there are so many empty seats at the Raptors game?

    ReplyDelete
  31. and golf. Golf should only be played once a month.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Re-watching The League because I needed a Rafi fix.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Mosh wasn't terrible.

But ugh the rest of that crew (minus Armstrong, whose selling makes anyone look like $100000)

    ReplyDelete
  34. Original programming on the Network I am excited for. Finally.

    https://twitter.com/realmickfoley/status/588413124274958336

    ReplyDelete
  35. I would say it's like the company itself is actively pushing people like us away. They don't seem to have any interest in catering to their main audience, ie, wrestling fans. There is no incentive to watch.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Getting ready for Hawks/Preds and looking forward to seeing Nashville's attempts at keeping Hawks fans out fail miserably. I was there for a game in October and it was a blast.

    ReplyDelete
  37. No, that's cause it's a RAPTORS game.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Burt Macklin, Man Without FearApril 15, 2015 at 5:55 PM

    That's awesome!

    ReplyDelete
  39. I'm kind of in the same place. I've taken breaks before but still sort of kind of cared.

I haven't watched anything since the Rumble, including skipping Mania, and it just feels weird and permanent, and weird. Like I SHOULD like it. I've ALWAYS liked it.

    ReplyDelete
  40. Sweet! I'll be checking that out for sure.

    ReplyDelete
  41. I hear ya man. I can't watch without my wife because now she's been sucked in. He's already her favorite Marvel character and we just watched episode 5 last night.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Those "X Event sold out in 90 SECONDS!" announcements WWE makes for WrestleMania are really silly. Is that even logistically possible? Seems like they're mostly accounting for advanced orders or something.

    ReplyDelete
  43. The Raptors are popular, especially with the Leafs in the tank

    ReplyDelete
  44. Are they pushing us away, or are we just growing up?

    ReplyDelete
  45. Most of us are in our thirties.. Seems like a weird time to grow up.

    You might be right though.

    ReplyDelete
  46. Yep. All the preorders, then when tickets "go on sale" there's like 100 left and they sell in 90 seconds.

    ReplyDelete
  47. Growing out of wrestling's target demographic, I mean.

    ReplyDelete
  48. Listening to the guy at the bar bloviate about his job and "LinkedIn" makes me glad I'm out of that world.

    ReplyDelete
  49. they are pushing us away. Growing up everyone watched regardless of age. Now they are saying we only want this demographic which seems to be a dumb way to make money.

    ReplyDelete
  50. I hope to be in the next two years.

    ReplyDelete
  51. Upvote for "bloviate". And for your avatar. And for your comment.

You know what, fuck it, here's an upvote.

    ReplyDelete
  52. If OKC makes the playoffs, I'd vote for Westbrook for MVP. He's carrying them on a level that Harden and Curry haven't had to do.

    ReplyDelete
  53. Burt Macklin, Man Without FearApril 15, 2015 at 6:01 PM

What the hell is this guy wearing on NHL Network. Holy hell.

    ReplyDelete
  54. WWE: NEVAR HOMOGENIZED! *kofhackWWEStylekof*

    ReplyDelete
  55. Here is the problem with pretaping so far in advance Hi CJ Parker

    ReplyDelete
  56. Is it Don Cherry?

Because when I hear, "What the hell is this guy wearing?" and the NHL, I instantly think of Don Cherry.

    ReplyDelete
  57. The MVP will never go to an 8-seed. The award is a combination of things rather than "X player means this much to his team"

    ReplyDelete
  58. They are definitely pushing us away. I am young at heart. I want to buy into it, I am willing to suspend disbelief. This current product is simply incoherent and poorly produced. It's bad TV. Nothing to do with age.

    ReplyDelete
  59. Burt Macklin, Man Without FearApril 15, 2015 at 6:03 PM

Not sure, don't know my facts well enough. Old guy. Bald. White goatee. Flower suit.

    ReplyDelete
  60. Shouldn't you figure out how to get out of your house first?

    heh.

    ReplyDelete
  61. Obviously WWE wants every demographic. They want all the money. But products just naturally appeal to some and not others. They might even intend to get the 30s demo, but just can't do it correctly.

    ReplyDelete
  62. Totally Don Cherry.

    Behold his Piano Desk: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qdJp5-g69go

    ReplyDelete
  63. Burt Macklin, Man Without FearApril 15, 2015 at 6:04 PM

    That's the maniac!!

    ReplyDelete
  64. If you were 14, though, you'd most likely be seeing it differently. Maybe you wouldn't think it's all awesome, but you probably wouldn't be as critical, wouldn't have as many other options, wouldn't have as many time restrictions, etc.

    ReplyDelete
  65. lulz, DX campaigning for a Tyson/Austin WrestleMania main vent so Shawn doesn't have to defend the belt.

    ReplyDelete
  66. Crowe has not impressed me so far.

    ReplyDelete
  67. Burt Macklin, Man Without FearApril 15, 2015 at 6:06 PM

    Check out A Beautiful Mind.

    ReplyDelete
  68. He's a crazy old coot that my fellow Canadians seem to think needs to stay on TV. Just wait until he starts talking about players born outside of Canada.

    ReplyDelete
  69. I think Kobe won MVP one year when his team was a lower seed. And he finished 2nd to Nash one year when his team with an 8-seed or 7-seed.

    ReplyDelete
  70. Who does Kane and Big Show appeal to? Why were they pushing a guy to the top of the card when no one would cheer him? They don't appear to want anyone's money.

    ReplyDelete
  71. Just started Arrow!!!

    ReplyDelete
  72. Even when he was on the indies he struck me as a midcard guy. Was really surprised when he was signed.

    ReplyDelete
  73. Burt Macklin, Man Without FearApril 15, 2015 at 6:08 PM

Damn by the time this intermission is over the Chicago game will be on.

    ReplyDelete
  74. Opening promo was a whole 7 minutes. No rambling or 1500 interruptions, just Austin and HBK talking shit.

    ReplyDelete
  75. Taz is officially gone from TNA. Couldn't afford to fly him from New York to Nashville and back once a week?

    ReplyDelete
  76. Oh wait, this is the dumpster Raw! Awwww shit.

    ReplyDelete
  77. Hey, shout out to the Rochester Amerks.

    ReplyDelete
  78. Ready for another Dodger walk off against the Marviners

    ReplyDelete
  79. And they're playing my pathetic Charlotte Hornets. In their only ESPN night game this year. Yay?

    ReplyDelete
  80. I was supposed to go to dinner with my niece last Saturday. She tried to bring her boyfriend along like I knew that dude. The hell? That's how WWE has thrown Neville onto the fans. It would be nice if you'd bother to introduce us beforehand then maybe I wouldn't treat you like a jerk.

    ReplyDelete
  81. Another convert!

    ReplyDelete
  82. He could probably fit into a pet carrier and get a reduced rate too. Bad sign.

    ReplyDelete
  83. This is a heckuva promo by Mick.

    ReplyDelete
  84. An A-Bomb from A-Rod!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  85. I like how Neville was introduced.

Just debut him, establish his moveset against a jobber, and then watch him hang with the boys like he already belongs. I wish they did that more often. I always hate having to watch three months of promo videos and then three months of squash matches before they finally get something decent.

It's why Ryback failed initially, months of squash matches then he gets thrown into a title feud and looks like a total goober in the process.

    ReplyDelete
  86. So...the strange thing about NXT is something like Corbin..what they are doing with him is fine for a small promotion. but the kid isn't going to be getting any better in the ring while he is squashing people.

    ReplyDelete
  87. Ditto. I hate to bring up "the look" but he looks like a midcard geek

    ReplyDelete
  88. Cactus and Terry, beating the absolute dogshit out of each other because of RESPECT

    ReplyDelete
  89. Same, have zero issue with his call up this far.

    ReplyDelete
  90. I wonder how Zayne's casual interview still will go over in the big league.

    ReplyDelete
  91. I think he wrestles more on their house shows.

    ReplyDelete
  92. Establish the importance Foley is placing on this match so when the Outlaws come out, crash the party, and nearly kill him, they REALLY look like assholes.

    ReplyDelete
  93. Another step closer to that bonus lol

    ReplyDelete
  94. Burt Macklin, Man Without FearApril 15, 2015 at 6:15 PM

you could say that everytime he picked up a mic.

    ReplyDelete
  95. It's so different it will stand out.

    ReplyDelete
  96. He faced Ziggler on Monday for no other reason than to have "a great match". What's the point? Who is this guy? What is he about?

    ReplyDelete
  97. and they might be in it for the long build with him, not planning on calling him up for a year or two but...they didn't really do that with ascension and we saw how that has gone.

    ReplyDelete
  98. I read this as "I was supposed to go over my niece last Saturday."

And I thought, "Well, booking plans change."

    ReplyDelete
  99. I like it but I can see a portion of the fanebase that is a little more programmed not liking it.

    ReplyDelete
  100. The casuals got into Bryan's casual interview style. They'll LOVE Zayn.

    ReplyDelete
  101. An underrated Simpsons moment...I think:

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bqm70usLqYc

    ReplyDelete
  102. Daaaaaaaryl. Daaaaaaaaryl.

    ReplyDelete
  103. I can ask those same questions about the guy who just main evented Wrestlemania against Brock Lesnar.

    ReplyDelete
  104. Extant1979 - Extreme SuperstarApril 15, 2015 at 6:19 PM

    Out of what world, exactly?

    ReplyDelete
  105. This Habs game has me a tad concerned.

    ReplyDelete
  106. He didn't get over either.

    ReplyDelete
  107. Hi every BoDy!

    ReplyDelete
  108. Here comes the Varshitty Club. Get better gear!

    ReplyDelete
  109. they should at least be named NXT's greatest tag team

    ReplyDelete
  110. *wrestling superstar* Virgil

    ReplyDelete
  111. pick......it up

    ReplyDelete
  112. Did you see SHIELD last night?

    ReplyDelete
  113. Hi Dr. Hibbert!

(See, it's funny because he's the black doctor.)

    ReplyDelete
  114. Diagnosis? DELICIOUS!

    ReplyDelete
  115. He also looks weird

    ReplyDelete
  116. Burt Macklin, Man Without FearApril 15, 2015 at 6:22 PM

Not having a team to root for leads me to pick a team to root for based off the most trivial things. Rooting for the Islanders because there was a wrestling team named the Islanders!

    ReplyDelete
  117. ARE YOU GONNA EAT IT FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIFE?!!!!!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  118. Excuse me. I apologize.

    ReplyDelete
  119. I love Blake and Murphy. What a pair of choads.

    ReplyDelete
  120. So I forgot to mention how a few weeks ago I had a random wrestling dream where two things stuck out:

    1) Seth Rollins came out to new music and everyone here hated it.
    2) I decided to post something for his (main event) opponent. I posted...

    KENNEDY

    ...Kennedy

    : |

    ReplyDelete
  121. Except Reigns was on the roster for two years now, Neville debuted two weeks ago.

    ReplyDelete
  122. Burt Macklin, Man Without FearApril 15, 2015 at 6:24 PM

    How do you spell "man"?

    ReplyDelete
  123. V...I..R....... ..... Line?

    ReplyDelete
  124. If there's one guy who I'll forever be grateful I never have to see it again in wrestling, it's Ken Kennedy.

What a jobberific name. It's just as shitty as Eddie Edwards.

    ReplyDelete
  125. I always remember who's who b/c Blake has a huge nose, so I think of him as Beak instead of Blake.

And then I remember Murphy is Australian b/c his 1st name is Buddy, so that of course makes me think of "Buddy/Guy/Friend" from the Canadians, who of course are interchangeable with the Ozzies

    ReplyDelete
  126. Burt Macklin, Man Without FearApril 15, 2015 at 6:25 PM

Did....did you just ask for your line?

    ReplyDelete
  127. That's an excellent mnemonic device.

    ReplyDelete
  128. I did. One of my favorites of the season. I thought May's backstory was really interesting in how it tied into Skye's, creating this overarching theme of motherhood. I dug it.

    ReplyDelete
  129. I kinda hope they just bring her up as blue pants..with this music

    ReplyDelete
  130. No hustle either, skip.

    ReplyDelete
  131. HI DANA CAN I WATCH YOU DO SQUATS

    ReplyDelete
  132. An excellent mnemonic device...????

    WHO?!

I NEED TO KNOW WHO I AM!!!

    (but not Jim)

    ReplyDelete
  133. Ok...they need to cut half of that shit out of Dana's entrance. The flipping into center stage was cool then it went down hill.

    ReplyDelete
  134. It's the fucking Catalina Wine Mixer!

    ReplyDelete
  135. The post-next week preview scene was amusing

    ReplyDelete
  136. Burt Macklin, Man Without FearApril 15, 2015 at 6:28 PM

    http://youtu.be/80BqVpmuGiw

    ReplyDelete
  137. Remember Duggan brought them back in '99 to team with him and no one knew who they were, let alone cared when they turned on him?

    ReplyDelete
  138. I'm not understanding your point

    ReplyDelete
  139. Back leg cunt kick

    ReplyDelete
  140. Oddly enough, I think Kane and Show are supposed to appeal to kids. When I went to a house show last month, Show (vs. Reigns) and Kane (vs. Bryan) were actually really good in their heel roles and sucked the kids into the performance more than anybody. When my nephew plays WWE 2K, whether he plays as Brock or Cena or whoever, he usually picks the giants (Kane, Show, Khali, etc.) as his opponent. I think the younger crowd is more wowed by the good guy beating the evil giant.

    ReplyDelete
  141. I love Will Ferrell, but I think he needs to cut it down on the amount of movies he does. Half of them I have NO interest in seeing.

    ReplyDelete
  142. Getting some heat, not great shots, but quite an athlete. I'd like to see more. Also maybe more matches as she improves.

    ReplyDelete
  143. Throat punch in a hockey game...amazing.

    ReplyDelete
  144. You make good sense. I'm actually starting the move out process this weekend. Moving in with some random chick. Of course it's going to end badly, why do you ask?

    ReplyDelete
  145. Watched the 3rd ep of DD last night

    A) He totally used a sidewalk slam
    B) As the bad guy was getting ready to do what he did (no spoilers), I think we pretty much all called how he would do it based on the fight. Still was a HOLY SHIT moment though

    ReplyDelete
  146. Aaaand that was amazing acting gets Subban out for the game. That dude needs to work WWE.

    ReplyDelete
  147. Grrrr, too many Avengers trailers flying around now. Stop Disney, you're going to get all the money on this one

    ReplyDelete
  148. Burt Macklin, Man Without FearApril 15, 2015 at 6:33 PM

I've avoided all trailers since the first one. They show too damn much.

    ReplyDelete
  149. Got one of the McDonalds Steakhouse burgers last night. If you don't like mushrooms (especially juiciness) or grilled onions, you won't like it. Fortunately that;'s what I got it, and it was pretty good.

    ReplyDelete
  150. the good guys win
    /spoilers

    ReplyDelete
  151. It's crazy that Rhyno has grown into his name even more has he got older

    ReplyDelete
  152. I've stopped seeking. Just saw another new one on Arrow though

    ReplyDelete
  153. Burt Macklin, Man Without FearApril 15, 2015 at 6:33 PM

Someone hasn't seen Star Wars Episode V

    ReplyDelete
  154. Washington Capitals choking in the Playoffs. A tradition like no other.

    ReplyDelete
  155. Nope. Kobe's lone MVP was when the Lakers were the #1 seed

    ReplyDelete
  156. I can't believe that Darth Vader is Luke's father!

/Homer Simpsons when leaving the theater

    ReplyDelete
  157. dang the one movie out of 4353465645626435234543623536223545345 that the bad guys go over in. You got me sport.

    ReplyDelete
  158. Burt Macklin, Man Without FearApril 15, 2015 at 6:34 PM

I love mushrooms and the only kind of onions I like are grilled(or ringed) sounds like my forte.

    ReplyDelete
  159. ThebrazilianpsychoApril 15, 2015 at 6:34 PM

    Good evening.

    ReplyDelete
  160. I've never found anyone who talked about linkedin to be that interesting... but a linkedin profile is one of those things you just have to have as a professional.

    ReplyDelete
  161. I like sweet onions, not the kind that make you cry

The same could be said about women

    ReplyDelete
  162. Burt Macklin, Man Without FearApril 15, 2015 at 6:35 PM

Owen lost to Bret 4303038385950402 times. He got over on Bret just once and it was all he needed.

    ReplyDelete
  163. Will they have rings if I cut them open?

Just kidding.. I already found out the answer for myself

    ReplyDelete
  164. Burt Macklin, Man Without FearApril 15, 2015 at 6:36 PM

  165. "While Wade Boggs lay unconscious on the barroom tile, we're talkin' SOOOOOFFFTBAAAALLLL"

    ReplyDelete
  166. Look where it got him, though

    ReplyDelete
  167. THERE'S PEOPLE IN THERE! THERE'S PEOPLE IN THERE!

    ReplyDelete
  168. Burt Macklin, Man Without FearApril 15, 2015 at 6:37 PM

    Goddamn. Shelton heel turn lol.

    ReplyDelete
  169. ThebrazilianpsychoApril 15, 2015 at 6:37 PM

    Future endeavored.

    ReplyDelete
  170. The Miz Marine movie....holy shit that looks unwatchable and Miz was beyond over doing the voice over

    ReplyDelete
  171. The entire WWF roster flooding to the scene, Sunny looking like she's about to break down, Vince McMahon is pissed. This is madness!

    ReplyDelete
  172. Burt Macklin, Man Without FearApril 15, 2015 at 6:38 PM

That felt like the Lesnar segment where they legitimately stopped the show for about 15 minutes(longer in the outlaws case)

    ReplyDelete
  173. Vince didn't trust it enough to headline Summerslam and they couldn't get anymore money matches out of it.

    ReplyDelete
  174. My God, it's full of stars!

IT'S PEOPLE! SOYLENT GREEN IS PEOPLE!!

    YOU DAMN DIRTY APES

    ReplyDelete
  175. Dumpster dive? Yeah, that was a great moment.

    ReplyDelete
  176. Burt Macklin, Man Without FearApril 15, 2015 at 6:38 PM

    Bullseye got his.

    ReplyDelete
  177. That sounds like a sexual maneuver

    ReplyDelete
  178. I thnk he either needs to do another serious role, or sit out the next few plays. The talk show/stunt stuff he's done in the past few years just isn't ever funny, and he also seems looked in this antagonist, d-bag mode. You aren't Andy Kaufman, man.
