My compatriot Brian Fritz posted yet another expose of TNA's inability to pay their people over on the Sporting News. Clearly he's just spreading lies made up by the haters who are trying to skew things with their "facts" and "verifiable information". But still, probably not a good sign. Even if he's lying. Which he clearly must be.
So weird that Sporting News covers wrestling.
ReplyDeleteGeeze. I don't watch or follow TNA whatsoever, but it will be sad when they go belly up.
ReplyDeleteIt really is too bad ... pro wrestling BADLY needs an alternative that works.
ReplyDeleteSomeone needs to pitch El Rey to more cable packages.
ReplyDeleteEh. TNA was dead when that first Hogan show was seen as a joke.
ReplyDeleteThis is like watching the Hindenberg crash in ultra slow-motion.
ReplyDeleteThe quote at the end where he says "it's a lack of respect more than anything else" I'd say it's a lack of pay more than anything else
ReplyDeleteEh, an owner should always pay his/her employees, but at the very least if there is some problem with the payment process PROVIDE AN APOLOGY AN EXPLANATION. Don't leave people hanging waiting for checks for weeks.
ReplyDeleteYou know what hurts the most is the... the lack of respect. You know? That's what hurts the most. Except for the... Except for the other thing. That hurts the most. But the lack of respect hurts the second most.
ReplyDeleteIt sucks to see another promotion dying. I don't care if a company sucks to the highest level of suckitude, it's at least a place where wrestlers can earn a paycheck and do what they love. I hate to see this.
ReplyDelete"I's at least a place where wrestlers can earn a paycheck"
ReplyDeleteUh, isn't the problem that they aren't getting paid?
Dixie learned from the best scumbag promoters INTHISBUSINESS.
ReplyDeleteClearly Vince has people going around and stealing the checks out of mailboxes ...he fears TNA now that they are on Destination America
ReplyDeleteBe amazing twist if all those checks Hardy was showing this week were actually stolen
ReplyDeleteThe humanity...
ReplyDeleteIT'S NOT COMPLICATED
ReplyDeleteAnother example of dirty work quotes working in every situation
ReplyDeleteTGGI
ReplyDeleteEspecially in Stick Figure Theater form

One member of the production team was told by the company accounting department that the checks for the One Night Only shows were cut on April 3, but no one has received them yet.
ReplyDelete"They are just blatantly lying to us all of the time,” he said. “They’re probably still on the floor in Dallas at the office of Panda Energy.”
Not in a file cabinet, not in a box, not a desk.
But literally just laying on the floor.
Hey, everyone has their system.
ReplyDeleteDetails...
ReplyDeleteNever change, New Money
ReplyDeleteWhy can't you put your files in a file cabinet like everyone else, you know? Maybe, TNA, if you weren't such a rebel...
ReplyDeleteI took it to mean the actual workers....like no furniture, just a couple of texans sitting on the floor in an empty office somewhere in the basement of Panda,
ReplyDeleteJust went over to TNAMecca for the first time and uh, yeah some of those people are a bit crazy. And the guy who wished for someone to put a hit out on Meltzer is my favorite psycho.
ReplyDeleteI wonder if WWF still thinks it's all made up.
ReplyDeleteWon't lie, it will be pretty cool watching TNA on the WWE Network. I'd watch the shit out of the older episodes.
ReplyDeleteDave gave the post ** 1/2. Would have been **** if the psycho was from Japan
ReplyDeleteI still don't know how to feel about Joker Sting, tho...
ReplyDeleteI glanced at their site. One of the posters is called "Stop Lying Dave!" When TNA dies, they WILL blame him.
ReplyDeleteTerrible.
ReplyDeleteI thought DAmerica was giving them a ton of money. They won't pay the hard workers but they were trying to throw money at Alberto? Awful company. Everyone there will be better off in the long run when they move on.
ReplyDeleteLink me.
ReplyDelete"What hurts the most is the lack of respect. Well ... actually, what hurt the most was ... was the other thing. But what hurt the second most was the lack of respect."
ReplyDeleteFuck you Phil Brooks.
ReplyDeleteI'm surprised they wanted Alberto so bad, since he isn't American.
ReplyDeleteAmerica's the destination, but sometimes you have to settle.
ReplyDeleteTommy just sold a HALF a MILLION BRAKE PADS!
ReplyDeleteDammit, I swear I didn't see this before I posted.
ReplyDeleteHAHAHAHAHAHA.
ReplyDeleteYou didn't count on my loyal army of prostitutes!
Dammit, I swear I didn't see this before I posted!
ReplyDeleteEl Rey may not even pick up Lucha for another season.
ReplyDeleteNote to self: I don't want to live.
ReplyDeleteDon Giovani, who's that dude?
ReplyDeleteThey'd Benoit the shit out of it, else it would negate the WM Play Button build
ReplyDeleteLooks like it got deleted but it was by a guy "Starwolf Champ who wrote the following:
ReplyDelete"I wish somebody would put a hit out on Dave Meltzer. I would laugh the day he dies"
Here is the thread
http://www.tnamecca.com/2015/04/tnamecca-presents-chat-apr-13-2015.html
I'll take all the Norm we can get.
ReplyDeleteJesus. For what?! If they even read the Observer they would know that, especially as of late, Meltzer is highly complimentary of TNA's television. Delusional idiots.
ReplyDeleteTNA dies, WWE continues to alienate Austin, Punk wants to return to wrestling after his UFC run is up.... 2017 may be the year the wrestling business gets back on track if Austin and Punk join up with a new start up, or whatever GFW is at that point.
ReplyDeleteThere are a few lunatics with persecutory delusions over there. The site owner bans you apparently if you mention the news about TNA's problems.
ReplyDeleteSomewhere...
ReplyDeleteAnother tear drop rolls down Bobby Roode's cheek into the can of dog food he's been eating.
Sounds very healthy and not at all cult-like. Cult status? CRITICAL.
ReplyDeleteThe death of TNA has been worse than the death of WCW. At least with WCW they paid you on time, they still had an audience, there was the hope that somehow things would get better.
ReplyDeleteI think Austin is far from the point of cutting all ties with the WWE, and Punk wants nothing to do with wrestling, so I doubt any of that will happen.
ReplyDeleteThe opera! You're ruining the opera!
ReplyDeleteHello, real cops?
ReplyDeleteIt had moments. I do think Sting's promos got really good in TNA by the end.
ReplyDeleteIt's my fantasy, let me be!
ReplyDeleteEVERYTHING IS AWESOME
ReplyDeleteEVERYTHING IS COOL WHEN YOURE PART OF A TEAM
Those checks were actually for the production guys and he just white-outed their names? That would be incredible!
ReplyDelete... and in all honestly, the death blow came pretty quick and did the job.
ReplyDeleteTNA's death is like being stabbed with a pencil every week for 2 years...
Matt Hardy is such a class act. He knows other people weren't paid, but HE was, so everything is fine and TNA is great! Real man of the people, that Matt Hardy!
ReplyDeleteOne of my favorite movies ever. Can't count how many times I've seen it.
ReplyDeleteOh, yes, we are ruining that...
ReplyDeleteNote to self get ass wary creme fkr
ReplyDelete"I've never seen so many dead hookers in all my life!"
ReplyDelete"... Lord knows I have."
I used to grab bear claws as a kid, two at a time...
ReplyDeleteYou need to work on the quality of your fantasies...
ReplyDeleteThey should just hire Russo again and have him crash book it until it dies.
ReplyDeleteMy fantasy would involve pushing fresh new young exciting talent to the top instead of relying on your old tired acts.
ReplyDeleteWhat's that got to do with TNA?
ReplyDeleteIf you can't pay your employees, you don't deserve to be in business
ReplyDeleteI swear there are only like 5 people here that subscribe to won
ReplyDeleteHey ECW stuck around for a good while.
ReplyDeleteGlobal Force is vaporware. Don't ever think otherwise.
ReplyDeleteI got banned from there a year ago. I went in to try and talk wwf1987 back to the blog but before I got to his post to write a reply I couldn't help but reply to some other post and was banned immediately lol.
ReplyDeleteBut they don't have any fresh new exciting young talent.
ReplyDeleteIt's one thing for someone like Heyman to not pay his workers beause he's legitamately broke, but a billion dollar company like Panda doing it is completely inexcusable. Fuck this company.
ReplyDeleteMore like 12 years.
ReplyDeleteThere's a ton of wrestlers out there. I don't know who the next big star will be in the next 5 years but I'm sure there's somebody on the indy circuit right now that can be that guy.
ReplyDeleteElvy has his own website?
ReplyDeleteSTOP STOP IT'S ALREADY DEAD!
ReplyDeletePlus Heyman had a cultish like charisma about him where he could get guys to work for free and have them like it.
ReplyDeleteMaybe Panda accounting thought TNA closed shop this month, so they ceased all payments.
ReplyDeleteHe said earlier that he was done defending them.
ReplyDeleteWhich is why I said earlier what would they do if the company was gone.
ReplyDeleteI used to call in to Fritz's wrestling radio show in Orlando. Be wouldn't put me on with Mikey whipwreck one time because he didn't think I had anything important to say (I was dyeing my hair the same color red as him at the time and wanted tips lol) and I cut a promo on him over email, and we had a little back and forth. Good dude though, did a lot for wrestling in that area.
ReplyDeleteIf this is the same guy of course. I really dont know.
Honestly how many paychecks have these guys got that they honestly wouldn't have from having an association to ECW? They probably have broken even on the bad checks at this point - with interest.
ReplyDeleteThey paid Manny Pofo without even using him.
ReplyDeletePlease, TNA, just let it go.
ReplyDeleteThose of us that have some fond memories of you wish you would just drift away and leave the memories alone.
But tomorrow on the Daily Update, it will be reported that he had a stroke :(
ReplyDeleteTv deals with over twenty networks worldwide, taping months of shows in one go, roster has about 4 big(ish) names and they still have no money. It might have to do with them having absolutely no ability to monetise any aspect of their product, even Progress has an on demand service and they do about 700 for a bif crowd and have no tv.
ReplyDeleteSame here. Saw it in the theater.
ReplyDeleteImagine being in a place in life where you think defending the company, that allowed Eric Young to hold a world title, was worth wanting someone dead :(
ReplyDeleteWell, sure, but it's not gonna catch on or get a TV deal. Just like WCW was never going to take over WWF without Hulk Hogan.
ReplyDeleteThat's not how it works. If i work at company A and that experience helps me get a similar or better job at company B. I still have every right to expect company A to pay me for my services.
ReplyDeleteThey did that with a few guys.
ReplyDeletePeople over here were calling for Vince's death over the rumble.
ReplyDeleteThat is way down the crap they've done bad list. Why take a shot at poor Eric?
ReplyDeleteWhen does the Team Challenge Series start? Or the Daytona Spring Break booking?
ReplyDeleteI have no dog in the fight but some people seem happy that TNA is having problems. I want TNA to make it even though I don't ever watch. Don't look like it's going to happen but I don't celebrate people being out of work.
ReplyDeleteDuh. I'm saying that it worked out well enough for them karmically after 15 years.
ReplyDeleteI'm all for it going out of business. TNA's existence blocks a possible legit number two promotion.
ReplyDeleteAnd normally I'd have a heavy heart about people losing jobs...but they're not being paid either way.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xvuoh7WGvtc
ReplyDeleteLanny got paid for years and kept his hair dyed bleach blonde. Personally I think they should have brought him into the nWo when Hennig joined.
ReplyDeleteI never got over how badly they fucked up Monty Brown. That dude had the potential to be The Rock and carry TNA on his back.
ReplyDeleteWWE really buried TNA by not bringing over guys and treating it like a big deal. Having someone like AJ Styles show up and Michael Cole putting him over as a big deal would have given TNA some credibility. Vince was brilliant in no selling TNA.
ReplyDeleteHa. You guys think this is the end? You think this is over? It's not over. TNA is like something out of a damn monster movie. It cannot be killed and it will not die.
ReplyDeleteBobby Roode will still be eating Alpo in TNA in 2020.
ReplyDeleteHe knew TNA didn't have the money to compete with him like Turner or the Crocketts so why not no sell it?
ReplyDeleteYeah but they might put the belt on him
ReplyDeleteI guess my only issue that there were some talented workers that would have been able to make a nice impact during various periods in the last 10 years.
ReplyDeleteDude, their employees are basically out of work even with TNA technically being open anyway.
ReplyDeleteI agree there. WWEs situation is such that they would pick up most of those guys now for NXT.
ReplyDeleteSituation now as opposed to back then I should say.
ReplyDeleteIf you believe in the act enough and push the hell out of it, it will catch on. WWF didn't stand a chance competing against WCW in 96 when WCW had all the big names, so WWF was forced to push new talent and eventually Austin caught on.
ReplyDeleteThe problem with former big stars is that they might be able to spike business, but it's only a temporary measure, but if the promotion manages to push someone young and new in that role, they can make money of that guy for a lot longer.
It's the opposite of what they've done with ROH, who gets free credibility all the time.
ReplyDeleteBecause somebody on the booking committee took a look at the TNA roster. They scrolled through the list of names. They saw Jeff Hardy, Bobby Roode, EC3, MVP, Bully Ray, Aries, Joe and then decided that Eric Young had more to offer and he was going to be their guy.
ReplyDeleteThis sounds eerily like last year when there was talk that their production people were not being paid--followed soon after by whispers of the network not renewing them.
ReplyDeleteI don't think a TNA invasion would work in WWE because it really does seem that the common wrestling fan isn't aware of TNA's existence, oddly enough.
ReplyDeleteI await the Turkey Suit on a Pole match in a pink room.
ReplyDeleteCoincidentally both companies have turkeys in their history...
The common fan seemed to ask Nash and Angle why they retired after leaving the WWE.
ReplyDelete"The Horribly Slow Murderer with the Extremely Inefficient Weapon"
ReplyDeleteBeing the next Rock is a bit of a stretch, but the guy certainly could have made money for the company. I do find it weird that the black demographic is the one overlooked demographic in the wrestling business for the most and it's a demographic that can draw a lot of money if you push the right black wrestler that can capture the audience's imagination.
ReplyDeleteThey have done a HORRIBLE job promoting themselves since day one, bro.
ReplyDeleteIronically Dixie's background is, of coarse, public relations...
I laughed at one of the podcasts Nash did where he answered he was working for TNA and the fan said back "so you do porn now?"
ReplyDeleteAm I the only one that sees a lot of similarities between Dixie and Sarah Palin?
ReplyDelete
