Friday Fact: "Little Red Corvette" is the greatest song ever written about pussy.

    Boners.

  2. NXT Takeover ...not so unstoppable as we thought a week ago.

    ReplyDelete
  3. Dismal day. Went to bed with the election looking bad, woke up to it being even worse!

    ReplyDelete
  4. Buffalo HopscotchMay 8, 2015 at 7:10 AM

Raven one should be fairly decent. The majority of those timeline videos are fantastic, save for the late 90's/early 00's for WWE with Rikishi, Val Venis and a few others.

    ReplyDelete
  5. Polls were about even, but it's shockingly turned into almost a Conservative landslide. The party leaders of Labour, UKIP and the Lib Dems have already resigned this morning

    ReplyDelete
  6. I've watched Game of Thrones..can't you guys find a chick with Dragons to take over? Isn't that how your government works?

    ReplyDelete
  7. Sergeant Dr. Facts YatesMay 8, 2015 at 7:13 AM

Why can't someone knock out Floyd Mayweather already?

    ReplyDelete
  8. It's fucking awful. Cambridge however was a Labour gain (the only one in the country? I haven't checked) from the Lib Dems, which I take all the credit for. Bad mood though still.

    ReplyDelete
  9. So what's this snp? I've heard of lib dems, labor, torys but not snp. Are they new?

    ReplyDelete
  10. Figured it would come down to Hogan and Austin for the Best Theme tourney.

    ReplyDelete
  11. I voted for flair and savage

    ReplyDelete
  12. I still can't believe it.

    ReplyDelete
  13. So unstoppable...do they have a 1 on 1 Finn vs. tyler? and who does Owens fight?

    ReplyDelete
  14. "The man who naming forgot"

    ReplyDelete
  15. They borrow W's 2004 voting machines?

    ReplyDelete
  16. So why were the liberal democrats just destroyed? They went from being in the government to barely in parliament.

    ReplyDelete
  17. As of right now, I gotta think they put Breeze over Balor as Balor seems to be wrapping up his obligations in NXT (and should be nearing the end of agreed upon stay there), but what do you do then? Run Breeze/Owens? DEATH.

And who does Owens face for the title? Do they wheel Alex Riley out wearing Zack Ryder's back/neck brace and wearing a Christian "One More Amatch" shirt?

    ReplyDelete
  18. Baylor had an agreed amount of time in NXT? hmmm I figured they would hold him down there a little longer with all the injuries. Unless they are actually planning on him taking the belt off Cena.

We talked about it here yesterday. Have Owens toss out an open challenge and Joe walks in. Have them beat the shit out of each other. Owens wins. Some sort of..You're in NXT now and then build a feud there.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Went the opposite

    ReplyDelete
  20. Because he has extremely long arms and knows how far he can stand away to dodge a punch and comfortably land counter-jabs. That's what he did in the first round vs Pac. He's also very elusive and is very good at shelling when he knows he can't avoid a barrage.

    ReplyDelete
  21. So what's so bad about this election thing? I see he plans to give scotland more power..isn't that a good thing?

    ReplyDelete
  22. He also usually hand picks his opponents and faces them when he wants to

    ReplyDelete
  23. I'm like 99% sure I read that part of the reason it took Balor almost a year (from the time the rumors of him signing really started) to sign an NXT contract was because he would only sign if they agreed to only keep him in NXT for a preset period of time (whatever that may be).

    ReplyDelete
  24. I don't think Breeze vs Owens is death at all.

    ReplyDelete
  25. According to the Observer, Bob Backlund interrupted Greg Gagne's eulogy for his father in order to cut a heel promo.

And you thought the crowds at the Hall of Fame ceremony were disrespectful!

    ReplyDelete
  26. Balor wins and faces Owens in a match with a screw job finish. Its all they can do right now.

    ReplyDelete
  27. A lot of their support over the last 10 years came from disaffected left-wing voters unhappy with the Labour party shifting so far to the right under Tony Blair. They were always going to lose a lot of that, but propping up a conservative government that was more right wing even than Thatcher was the icing on the cake.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Wow, what a dick

    ReplyDelete
  29. If Big Show can't do it with his frying pan-size hands, who can?

    ReplyDelete
  30. That is amazing.

    ReplyDelete
  31. I'm not a fan of either guy, but so does Pac. Almost all of his opponents were handpicked based on the fighters that fit his style. Mayweather was picked because of the $$$$$

    ReplyDelete
  32. Fact: Aerosmith's "Pink" is the worst.

    ReplyDelete
  33. That boy ain't right.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Scottish Nationalist Party. Campaigned last year for independence for Scotland. The independence vote lost, but they've dominated Scotland entirely. 56/59 MP's in Scotland, which is ridiculous.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Our seat was forecast as a Labour gain, but the Tories won comfortably. The fucking polls man, ridiculous.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Wrestling is awesome.

    ReplyDelete
  37. I voted for Blue Pants.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Did he give the corpse a chicken wing?

    ReplyDelete
  39. The Economist wrote a long feature about the election last week and they couldn't really figure it out, either. It seems like there were two bad options and one of the bad options won?

    ReplyDelete
  40. They really didn't have to prop up that government in 2010, and now they've set the stage for probably a decade or more of actual Tory rule. Cheers for that! They've destroyed themselves to save the Tories. Great.

    ReplyDelete
  41. I think Raven would be a pretty good booker

    ReplyDelete
  42. I want to see this Bob Backlund promo more than I have ever wanted to see anything in my life.

    ReplyDelete
  43. That and the Tom Magee vs. Bret Hart match.

    ReplyDelete
  44. You could say the same thing about Labour and teaming up with the tories to run a fear based campaign against Scottish independence. It'll probably be a generation before they're accepted up there again.

    ReplyDelete
  45. Was Hogan there? I imagine Bockwinkle was suppose to introduce Hogan and then doesn't...ok ..so I've been trying to come up with some Bockwinkle Hogan joke for the last 5 minutes and that was the best I could do

    ReplyDelete
  46. So are they liberal/conservative?

Do they just want an independent Scotland and that's it?

    ReplyDelete
  47. It's heel vs. heel. I know that front of the Full Sail crowd, those terms are fungible, but it's still a terrible dynamic unless you're planning to turn one of them face mid-match.

    ReplyDelete
  48. I think a Sid/Shawn type angle would work really well.

    ReplyDelete
  49. I hope he was climbing up and down the steps up to the casket through the whole promo.

    ReplyDelete
  50. Is this something from Bret's book?

    ReplyDelete
  51. Scotland is SNP for life. England is Tory for life.

    ReplyDelete
  52. They're pretty left-wing. Scotland tends to be more progressive than England. The Tories have always struggled there in recent decades

    ReplyDelete
  53. Really depressed about the GE result. Beyond comprehension.

    ReplyDelete
  54. Yes but it was also a legendary story before the book came out.

    ReplyDelete
  55. Hmmmmm... That COULD work, actually. They'd need to tweak Breeze a little bit, though. It's doable, though.

    ReplyDelete
  56. Goddamn carnies, lol. I love it.

    ReplyDelete
  57. Are all you guys depressed about the election young and bright eyed or something? I was that way in my 20s now in my 30's i realize, the guys you want to win aren't going to and if they do nothing is really going to get better so you just try and minimize the damage and then move on with your life.

    ReplyDelete
  58. Labour made several gains in formerly Lib Dem seats (like my own Cardiff Central), but the loss of seats in Scotland wiped them out.

    ReplyDelete
  59. I either don't know this one or beer killed those brain cells.

  62. Coming from an American pov, it's weird how Britain is like 4 countries who have like 4 different Olympic teams but with one government.

It would be like Texas and Alaska being sort of independent and having their own Olympic teams but still in the U.S. Government.

    ReplyDelete
  63. http://gfycat.com/ZealousPleasingBettong

I guess Finn Balor is the Kliq's foreign exchange student.

    ReplyDelete
  64. The UK system is very different to yours. We have more than two parties for a start.

    ReplyDelete
  65. Also Texas would also have a Texas independent party where it gets tons of support there and no where else.

    ReplyDelete
  66. The disparity between what the polls were saying and what actually happened is taking a little while to get over.

    ReplyDelete
  67. This dude was a big muscle head and had a try out with Bret Hart. Bret made him look so good Vince was convinced he was the next Hogan.

    ReplyDelete
  68. Query: How would one categorize Riskay's opus "Let me smell yo' dick."? Because one might argue that the lady's vaginal juices and through the transitive property her pussy is the point of the song, even though said juices are currently on the dick in question.

Ultimately I'd call it a worse song than Pink, which I actually quite liked, though I liked Nine Lives in general as an album.

    ReplyDelete
  69. Britain only has 1 olympic team. It's football where the teams are separate. (And rugby, but only about 20 countries actually play that sport and it's shit so it doesn't count)

    ReplyDelete
  70. Meltzer said he saw the match and has talked about that a few times.

    ReplyDelete
  71. If your polling is anything like ours it all bs anyway. I had to sound to conspiracy but often it seems clear they screw with the polls to manipulate voters like it looks neck and neck to get the other party voters to show up thinking they have a chance and then it's a land slide.

    ReplyDelete
  72. They don't need to manipulate the polls with press like ours. It has been ridiculous from the right wing papers the last few months - and it worked.

    ReplyDelete
  73. Ok so it's for the World Cup. I thought it was every sport

    ReplyDelete
  74. ah. I looked him up and watched a little of that match with Hiroshi Wajima and ...holy crap I couldn't even get through it.

    ReplyDelete
  75. Wonder what name they give Uhaa?

    ReplyDelete
  80. Each with its own distinct identity too. I'm Welsh first, British second.

    ReplyDelete
  81. Most important question does this election effect the future of Doctor Who in anyway? Also Sherlock and Broadchurch...if not then things will be ok.

    ReplyDelete
  82. To be honest, one of the Snowden revelations was that MI5 were involved in poll manipulation. But who knows. There's no evidence the vote was crooked. It was always assumed that due to the age of their core voter base, and the way the system was set up that the Tories were unlikely to ever achieve a proper majority in this country again. Instead, they've smashed it, and the left-wing parties have been crushed. It's going to take a decade to recover.

    ReplyDelete
  83. Actually, the tories hate the BBC, so Doctor Who and Sherlock could be affected.

    ReplyDelete
  84. He's a good-looking man.

    ReplyDelete
  85. WE HAVE TO RISE UP...OVER THROW THE GOVERNMENT!

    ReplyDelete

    ReplyDelete
  88. While we are talking that part of the world anyone here from Ireland or a familiar traveler to those parts?

    ReplyDelete
  89. I worked on Doctor Who last year, btw. Fun experience, but spoilt the show that season.

    ReplyDelete
  90. On DW I worked as stills photography assistant to Adrian Rogers. So all the shots for merchandise, magazines, etc, I was doing the set-ups/lighting.

    ReplyDelete

  92. We are going their in sept/oct and was curious if there was YOU NEED TO DO THIS! stuff that might not come up in the usual trip planning. The kind of shit Rick Steves doesn't know about

    ReplyDelete
  93. Yeah, it's was really fun and as a fan since childhood it was a BIG deal. They switched photographers this year (because of usual work/politics nonsense), but definitely a high point of my work life. My best friend did a few blocks as a runner last year and got an Assistant Director credit on Flatline (the best ep of S8 IMO).

    ReplyDelete
  94. You know.. if I was in the wrestling business, I would want someone to do that at my funeral. I would probably go a step further and cut a video promo to be used after I died.

    ReplyDelete
  95. It's literally just a booze-up

    ReplyDelete
  96. Feels like a nice update of One Man Gang.

    ReplyDelete
  97. I went to Ireland when I was like 10. I was blown away at how green everything was. The grass, the hills, the roadsides, the cottages. It was crazy. We also played this game that was a mix of soccer, rugby, and kill the man with the ball with a potato, at dusk, and my cousin ran full speed into a tree and knocked himself out.

    ReplyDelete
  98. yeah that was one of the best ones. So did this involved photographing the cast for magazines and stuff? if so were Capaldi and Coleman as nice as they seem to be...based on your probably extremely limited exposure to them

    ReplyDelete
  101. This actually wouldn't be the worst thing in the world for Itami - spend the rehab time working on his character, English, promos, something besides kicks, etc. and he'll be good to go.

But big picture this leaves them very thin at the top - let's say Zayn is out too, and they have to call up Balor, who do they push? Breeze and Corbin? I think the recent crop of recruits spoiled us because it's going to become a true developmental group again very quickly.

    ReplyDelete

  107. If I were in the wrestling business, I100% would want my eulogy done by Iron Sheik. He can tell everyone who doesn't respect me to step up to get slapped in the camel clutch, fucked in the ass, and made humble.

    ReplyDelete
  108. Actually Breeze Owen's promos could be an amazing adventure into who gives a shit less about their opponent.

  110. Baylor was smart. They're keeping quality talent in NXT for years just because they have no clue how to use them when they call them up. If I was a wrestler, I'd rather sink or swim in the big leagues than sit around in limbo making a fraction of the money and risking injury.

    ReplyDelete
  124. I think Ambrose should win the belt. Kinda like Jericho/HHH only it counts. And Rollins can get it back at the next ppv. It would be really surprising, it would fix the damage done to Ambrose last year, it would make Reigns somewhat interesting in that hes the only shield guy not to win it and it would be a feel good moment (for me) anyway. As they say on the streets YOLO.

    ReplyDelete

    ReplyDelete
  131. That's right yeah. Well, we were set up in the studio, so we were always around the sets/cast (Adrian also shot unit, i.e. the on-set shots). Both were always polite and accommodating with us when we were shooting, in spite of their crazy schedules. The guest cast were always fun and the props shoot was honestly very fun. One of those things that happened because of timing/luck/location that you can't quite believe.

Great day :) Students somehow knew it was my birthday so they all kept running up to me and singing Happy Birthday. If only I could get these kids to speak English inside the classroom that loudly...

  178. Every time I hear about a movement "raising awareness", it always sounds like slacktivism.

I mean, folks honestly believe that tweeting #BringBackOurGirls does anything. You know what actually changes things? Donations of money and, more importantly, your time.

Just imagine how much good all those Occupy Wall Street folks could've done if instead of sitting around in a drum circle and shouting at people they all banded together to make sandwiches for the homeless, or collected used clothing, or built a house, or any number of things that actually could've helped people in need instead of shouting about how unfair it is that you can't find a job with your degree in Botany and your minor in Women's Studies.
