BoD Evening Thread

Talk about everything going on tonight here

Comments

  1. Well, I'm Burt's dad now. It's true.

And I admit, my son being straight edge is a tremendous disappointment on every level.

    ReplyDelete
  2. The results are in. When it comes to 21 year old Art, Marv........you ARE the father. (hugs slut he spent the last 10 minutes burying)

    ReplyDelete
  3. And we're off to a great start -_-

I buy it. You've given me great promo material for YEARS if I ever break into wrestling.

  5. Burt Macklin, Man Without FearMay 5, 2015 at 5:59 PM

Incredible Hulk up next. I really can't remember the quality of the movie but it feels so incredibly out of place with the rest of the MCU now.

    ReplyDelete
  6. You're kind of lucky, any son of mine breaks into song like he's Neil Harris gets a belt buckle whip to the teeth.

    ReplyDelete
  7. I didn't like it originally. But on a rewatch building to Ultron? Not as bad. My like of the great ones is elevating the jobbers of the MCU....sorta a bizarro Cena

    ReplyDelete
  8. 14 posts with nary a mention of dick skin...

Oh or were you being literal about it being a great state, because it kind of is.

A rising tide lifts all boats.

  10. Burt Macklin, Man Without FearMay 5, 2015 at 6:02 PM

Boners and Dick Skin are the same basic food group.

    ReplyDelete
  11. Adam "Colorado" CurryMay 5, 2015 at 6:03 PM

Anyone watching the E:60 thing? I'm recording it but who knows if I'll ever get around to watching it.

    ReplyDelete
  12. Agreed, it would be weird to be part of some hippie group that ate one but not the other.

    ReplyDelete
  13. Burt Macklin, Man Without FearMay 5, 2015 at 6:03 PM

MCU watch through rankings after Iron Man 1:

    1. Iron Man
    2. ?

    ReplyDelete
  14. Flash/Shield/sleep; since WWE's promoting it, I'm sure it's just them blowing themselves

    ReplyDelete
  15. These last few Daily Updates have been very hostile and dick-centric lately...

    ReplyDelete
  16. Burt Macklin, Man Without FearMay 5, 2015 at 6:05 PM

I'm also fine with no solo Hulk movie. I find that I just want to see him smash without all the extra stuff so him just in the Avengers works smashingly.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Burt Macklin, Man Without FearMay 5, 2015 at 6:06 PM

We're the cock of the walk.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Adam "Colorado" CurryMay 5, 2015 at 6:06 PM

It looks like they filmed it a long time ago.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Something tells me that will be tomorrow's update title.

    DAILY UPDATE: COCK TALK!

    ReplyDelete
  21. And outside of Planet Hulk, where you can rewrite the rules, he's too big for a solo flick at this point. If they play up "ohhhhhh, Hulk bad, world council needs to stop him", they'd immediately shit themselves and call in the avengers. If he's good through and through? No one villain would threaten him

    ReplyDelete
  22. Watching them in chronological order?

    ReplyDelete
  23. Burt Macklin, Man Without FearMay 5, 2015 at 6:10 PM

No I just went with release order.

    ReplyDelete
  24. That's what I meant to say lol.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Can I just say how awesome Damien Sandow's new theme is again? Totally a Muse ripoff but it's awesome. Reminds me of when they rockified "Ride of the Valkyries" for Daniel Bryan.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Burt Macklin, Man Without FearMay 5, 2015 at 6:11 PM

Choose your words more carefully chief!

    ReplyDelete
  27. After the RAW rating this week, how low do they need to sink before 'E has Rollins drop the title to Orton or pony up for Brock to come back early?

    ReplyDelete
  28. Rorschach's JournalMay 5, 2015 at 6:13 PM

I'd kind of like Carano to come in as She-Hulk at some point. But that's just me.

    ReplyDelete
  29. I'm scared to see what ratings will look like when football season starts.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Was there hostility or dick talk in today's thread?

I mean, we spent a good grip of time talking about Dougie...so that's kind of dick talk...

    ReplyDelete
  31. Naturally comments on a wrestling blog are going to be homoerotic.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Dammit this Adam Rose segment on E:60 is giving me the feels

    ReplyDelete
  33. Rorschach's JournalMay 5, 2015 at 6:15 PM

They will blame Zayn, and push Cena. Rollins drops the belt to Cena after the next PPV. Brock is paid to sit home and do nothing.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Rorschach's JournalMay 5, 2015 at 6:16 PM

Sharing this in the evening thread, for Jeff Vinson:

  35. How's Hulk going, Burt?

    ReplyDelete
  36. Rorschach's JournalMay 5, 2015 at 6:16 PM

Anyone else reading "Batman: Endgame"? That ending....

    ReplyDelete
  37. I wish they HADN'T rockified Bryan's theme. The classical version kicks ass.

    ReplyDelete
  38. BILL DEMOTT SIGHTING

    ReplyDelete
  39. I enjoy Hulk Agents of SMASH but can understand how none of those storylines would be filmable in anything beyond an excessive GCI cartoon.

    ReplyDelete
  40. Burt Macklin, Man Without FearMay 5, 2015 at 6:18 PM

Going fine. Only 12 minutes in so not much has gone down yet.

    ReplyDelete
  41. Burt Macklin, Man Without FearMay 5, 2015 at 6:19 PM

    Yeah I read it.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Kayfabe is deader than ever.

    ReplyDelete
  43. So I can't be the only one who doesn't get the Lana love, can I?

Character-wise, she's never been more than two steps away from saying MOOSE AND SQUIRREL, so it's not that. And I know what it is

    ReplyDelete
  44. Forgot to DVR the E:60 piece. Oh well.

    ReplyDelete
  45. How bad was the RAW rating?

    ReplyDelete
  46. So you do get it then?

    ReplyDelete
  47. cabspaintedyellowMay 5, 2015 at 6:26 PM

Justin Bieber wanted to wrestle at Summerslam last year.

  48. Burt Macklin, Man Without FearMay 5, 2015 at 6:26 PM

The concept they're doing with Joker is outside the box and a lot of people hate it but I love it. I love getting a different take on the Joker and it makes him terrifying.

    ReplyDelete
  49. Clearly the answer is more McMahon + Cena

    ReplyDelete
  50. Not good. 3.57 million average. Down in total views and in 18-49 demographics. The highest rated hour was 3.70, implying viewers didn't even bother checking in.

    ReplyDelete
  51. Can't wait to hear their excuse. Their ratings are just a slow law of diminishing returns.

    ReplyDelete
  52. Burt Macklin, Man Without FearMay 5, 2015 at 6:28 PM

Get out. Leave sir. I had almost forgotten about that and now you waltz in with your Birkenstocks and your Phish T-Shirt and bring it up again.

    ReplyDelete
  53. Adam "Colorado" CurryMay 5, 2015 at 6:32 PM

What would be funny is if he did work Summerslam and actually ended up being really good at it. Who knows, maybe the little shit is a natural.

    ReplyDelete
  54. Burt Macklin, Man Without FearMay 5, 2015 at 6:32 PM

I feel like he could be a good heel. K-Fed was a good heel so who knows.

    ReplyDelete
  55. cabspaintedyellowMay 5, 2015 at 6:33 PM

K-Fed was shockingly good in his guest appearance.

    ReplyDelete
  56. cabspaintedyellowMay 5, 2015 at 6:34 PM

Bad enough that they'll probably never give us a good Raw again.

    ReplyDelete
  57. Burt Macklin, Man Without FearMay 5, 2015 at 6:34 PM

Liking this so far but the Tim Roth casting don't work for me.

    ReplyDelete
  58. Sandow's new gimmick is "Macho Mandow"

    http://wrestlinginc.com/wi/news/2015/0505/594021/photos-damien-sandow-latest-gimmick-a-big-hit-at-tonight-wwe/

Better Macho Tribute than Punk's elbow drop.

    ReplyDelete
  60. cabspaintedyellowMay 5, 2015 at 6:39 PM

Lanny Poffo is going to be mad as hell.

    ReplyDelete
  61. Haha he gets the better of you and instead of coming back with something intelligent or even witty or funny you go right to "fall on a knife". Its crazy it took six words from a stranger to invoke that sort of response from you.

    ReplyDelete
  62. Burt Macklin, Man Without FearMay 5, 2015 at 6:40 PM

How much concentrated work time does that amount to?

    ReplyDelete
  63. Burt Macklin, Man Without FearMay 5, 2015 at 6:40 PM

    Willing to sacrifice!

    ReplyDelete
  64. It just goes to show you better ideas don't mean that they are good ideas.

    ReplyDelete
  65. Wow my work WEEK is only 35 hours.

    ReplyDelete
  66. Like....7 hours probably hahahaha

    ReplyDelete
  67. I decided to do this huge 4 page spread about our little league with pictures and graphs and all this shit....I'm now here 3 hours past deadline thinking that wasn't a great idea maybe....

    ReplyDelete
  68. Adam "Colorado" CurryMay 5, 2015 at 6:42 PM

Same here, like 33-37 depending on how much business we do.

    ReplyDelete
  69. Thats what I was thinking is that everyone here heaped praise on the show and then it bombed in the ratings. So much for that happening again.

    ReplyDelete
  70. Yeah I blew up the air mattress in the back garage and slept from about 1am-5

That I have a blow up mattress (and toothbrush and shaving kit) at work is kind both sad and totally fucking awesome.

    ReplyDelete
  71. Don't think you know more than you really do. This was probably the 200th or so response from Dougie to one of my comments, and maybe the 2nd one I've actually replied to. I'm not going to feel bad about not being in the mood for it today. I was in a pissed-off place today, it happens. He's a 39-year old troll on a wrestling website...if he falls on a knife, he's doing the world a favor. Thanks for weighing in, though.

    ReplyDelete
  72. I was being tounge-in-cheek, but it's good to see someone staunchly defend the reputation of WWE. That doesn't happen nearly enough around these parts.

    ReplyDelete
  73. I imagine watching a VHS of those up and coming comedy geniuses, "The Three Stooges."

    ReplyDelete
  74. Isn't that kinda like defending Comcast?

    ReplyDelete
  75. Yup exactly the same great job!

    ReplyDelete
  76. Thats even worse. You're being bullied by an online stranger that you already said is worthless. If he's so worthless and the world is better off without him why not just ignore him? I mean clearly he's causing you a LOT more emotional distress than you're causing him. (This is the part where you internet laugh it off and proclaim you're not sweating him).

    ReplyDelete
  77. Exactly like it. Comcast, the NFL, WWE they all go in together

    ReplyDelete
  78. http://comcastsucksballs.blogspot.com/

    ReplyDelete
  79. The book's not available on Kindle. WTF? Does Brian seriously think people are going to buy the book at a brick-and-mortar store? Barnes & Noble barely exists now as it is.

    ReplyDelete
  80. Yeah, I don't get it. I barely ever buy hardcopies of books anymore.

    ReplyDelete
  81. So I totally thought this was going to have to do with Rita Chaterton

    ReplyDelete
  82. It's silly sounding, but some guys are technologically inept, it seems a minor kvetch.

    ReplyDelete
  83. personally I don't understand why anyone would pay money for a digital file.

    ReplyDelete
  84. "Emotional distress." You're a pretty special case, huh?

    ReplyDelete
  85. It was unclear in the story and the interviewer didn't really press the issue, but that's also what I wondered what Shane meant. It might have been as simple as "we want Hogan on the left, Vince on the right" in which case the solution is quite simple.

    ReplyDelete
  86. I'm a friend of Brian's, going back to high school. As far as I know the book will be on Kindle soon. Not really his call... Also, plenty of people still buy actual paper books ;)

    ReplyDelete
  87. Not to say I don't like a nice copy of a good book, but it boils down to space (I have a small libraries' worth of books all ready), price (ebooks can often be had for $2 or less) and convenience ( you can take your books anywhere you take your phone and squeeze in a lot of extra reading time throughout the day), and that makes it worthwhile to me.

    ReplyDelete
  88. Yeah because I'm the guy getting all sad "I had a bad day and he has been bullying me for weeks"
