I was lucky. I had planned on seeing it early Friday but when I went to order the tickets early, I saw another theater in town showing both Avengers movies in 3D for $13 total. It was a long night in the theater but totally worth it.

    ReplyDelete
  3. picked up a ton the big stuff for me was the Secret Wars preview and sneak peek at the "All New All Different" Avengers as for Age of Ultron that will be tonight for me as well.

    ReplyDelete
  4. What a hell of a day lined up.

Going to the Indians game, watching Spurs-Clippers, and ordering the fight.

    ReplyDelete
  5. I've seen it 2 times now and each time I'm scratching me head at the hulk/widow relationship...wer did that come from

    ReplyDelete
  6. I'm surprised that the Kentucky derby is getting like no coverage today compared with the draft, the fight and game 7

    ReplyDelete
  7. Thaddeus MountainMay 2, 2015 at 10:14 AM

On my to the Ben & Jerry's factory tour. I'll let you know how magnificent it is, Hoss

    ReplyDelete
  8. Semi-sucky day today. Yanks/Sox then I work 3-11.

    ReplyDelete
  9. My 4 year old has me watching Wall-E for the 783rd time. This > what you're doing.

    ReplyDelete
  10. Man NBA really should move that to tomorrow.

    ReplyDelete
  11. Weirdo rich people dress in costume to celebrate official sport of degenerate gamblers.

    Quick: Kentucky Derby or boxing?

    ReplyDelete
  12. Is there any bets on tonight's fight being a screwjob by ref/judges to lead to a 2nd fight?

    ReplyDelete
  13. Really happy that the spiritual successor to Banjo Kazooie got to 1 million pounds in less than 24 hours. I will never understand how Microsoft had the makers of most of Nintendos best mid to late 90's games and just used them to make shitty Kinect games.

    ReplyDelete
  14. Any horse racing event in the UK?

My cable channel will show Mayweather/Pacquiao for free.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Avengers 2- ***3/4. Not as great as the first -- nothing can really top the first interactions between the heroes -- and dragged a bit in the first half, but the last hour was mark out city.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Funny that ESPN had her there hyping the fight all week too

    ReplyDelete
  20. ThebrazilianpsychoMay 2, 2015 at 10:30 AM

I saw last night, ****1/2 in my book. I don't get the hate for the Hulk/Widow storyline, thought it was cute.

    ReplyDelete
  21. ThebrazilianpsychoMay 2, 2015 at 10:30 AM

Sorry, Loki. Ultron is the best MCU villain so far.

    ReplyDelete
  22. My friend didn't like it, but I did, especially how it wound up at the end

    ReplyDelete
  23. James Spader was PERFECT. Ditto Paul Bettany as Vision.

    ReplyDelete
  24. ThebrazilianpsychoMay 2, 2015 at 10:32 AM

I was actually cheering for them to be together, and I hate romance in films.

Class and hubris, that's the James Spader I love.

    ReplyDelete
  27. And gets everyone's hopes up and then bombs out in the last race

    ReplyDelete
  28. Also really damn funny too

    ReplyDelete
  29. ThebrazilianpsychoMay 2, 2015 at 10:34 AM

I like his humor was subtle, we need a heel like that in the WWE.

    ReplyDelete
  30. $84 million for Avengers 2...on Friday. Holy shit.

    ReplyDelete

RDJ is swimming in a pool of money as we speak.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Mitch, The GodfatherMay 2, 2015 at 10:38 AM

If the Spurs lose tonight, I can see some major changes. Ginobili just doesn't have it anymore. Green and Splitter possibly need to go as well.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Saw Avengers last night. Liked it, but would have liked it more if my expectations hadn't been so high.

    ReplyDelete
  34. ThebrazilianpsychoMay 2, 2015 at 10:39 AM

    Star rating?

    ReplyDelete
  35. LaMarcus Aldridge, please.

    ReplyDelete
  36. *** for me but it's probably an objective ***1/2

    ReplyDelete
  37. Is he going full Scrooge mc duck?

    ReplyDelete
  38. Am I the only one hoping Mayweather/Pacquiao is a fucking farce? I mean the kind of fight that makes people NEVER want to buy another PPV with either of these twits...

    ReplyDelete

And today, they'll get $84 million more, with 5 of those dollars being from me.

    ReplyDelete
  46. ThebrazilianpsychoMay 2, 2015 at 10:42 AM

I enjoyed the screen time they gave to Hawkeye, always enjoyed the guy.

    Correct?

    ReplyDelete
  49. kbwrestlingreviewsMay 2, 2015 at 10:43 AM

It's teased a bit in the first movie but it's more along the lines of they're both freaks who don't think they belong around normal people. Kindred spirits you might say.

    ReplyDelete
  50. "Yep Mode" Abeyance Brown ©May 2, 2015 at 10:43 AM

I just thought of this earlier, Thor is like the Roman Reigns of the MCU, and Loki is Daniel Bryan carrying him though a good film.

    ReplyDelete
  51. Maybe Floyd should do the goldust routine on manny

    ReplyDelete
  52. ThebrazilianpsychoMay 2, 2015 at 10:44 AM

Thor has more charisma than Roman.

    ReplyDelete

It's nice to see my grandmother marking out when The Avengers fight at the end.

    ReplyDelete
  57. I'm hoping finger poke of doom

    ReplyDelete
  58. It's going to be. Floyd's gonna D it up for 12 round with poke jabs here and there and bore the fuck out of everyone. I'm going to s minor league ballgame tonight and that will be way more entertaining

    ReplyDelete
  59. So we're just openly talking about Avengers 2 in this thread? If so, I'm outta here.

    ReplyDelete
  60. ThebrazilianpsychoMay 2, 2015 at 10:47 AM

    Ishii lost the title, no!

    ReplyDelete
  61. "Yep Mode" Abeyance Brown ©May 2, 2015 at 10:47 AM

Glad that the Avengers won't have a post credit scene, now I can at least leave midway through.

    ReplyDelete
  62. Yeah it was nice to see him get a lot of screen time

    ReplyDelete
  63. "Yep Mode" Abeyance Brown ©May 2, 2015 at 10:48 AM

    See you next week.

    ReplyDelete
  64. I'd post one of those "Scientifically Accurate" themes, but they're a bit... evil. In an entertaining way.

    ReplyDelete
  65. Everyone's posting star ratings and basic impressions but we're keeping it spoiler free

    ReplyDelete
  66. Based on blog reviews I'm looking forward to it.

    ReplyDelete
  67. Yeah. Don't be a see you next Tuesday

    ReplyDelete
  68. Yeah, we sat through all of the credits. At least everyone was cleared out by then

    ReplyDelete
  69. "Yep Mode" Abeyance Brown ©May 2, 2015 at 10:49 AM

Well, I got a give him a chance to see the film.

    ReplyDelete
  70. "Yep Mode" Abeyance Brown ©May 2, 2015 at 10:50 AM

I'm been checking and clarifying that there is no post credit scene in the film, and they all were confirmed.

    ReplyDelete
  71. I'm someone who barely pays attention (not a good way to start a sentence I'll admit) but doesn't that happen every fight and people still pay for the next one?

    ReplyDelete
  72. For Avengers 2 I'm with BDSM ***3/4

    ReplyDelete
  73. Just a brief one after the main star roll call, but nothing after the proper end credits crawl.

    ReplyDelete
  74. Thaddeus MountainMay 2, 2015 at 10:59 AM

Spader had been playing the dickbag since Pretty In Pink, and he's just the best.

    ReplyDelete
  75. Yeah, it's boxings version of The Streak

    ReplyDelete
  76. Good. Enough of that nonsense! It was annoying when CD's would have secret tracks 30 minutes after the last track ended too.

    ReplyDelete
  77. For those who have seen A2: What a fucking cocktease on the last line of the movie, lol

    ReplyDelete
  78. Thaddeus MountainMay 2, 2015 at 11:02 AM

    Likewise. So good, so fun.

    ReplyDelete
  79. Thaddeus MountainMay 2, 2015 at 11:02 AM

Time for the Ben & Jerry's factory tour. WIN.

    ReplyDelete
  80. That's pretty astute. Good job, Brown!

    ReplyDelete
  81. I'm with you. It will be yet another in a long line of hour long Mayweather borefests.

At least Julio Cesar Chavez Sr. and Sugar Ray Leonard fucking moved and acted like they wanted to win by KO in their hour long fights.

    ReplyDelete
  82. I am rooting for Mayweather tonight.

Just because he beat the fucking Big Show.

    FUCK WIGHT PEOPLE.

    ReplyDelete
  83. Hahaha, Jeb Bush is considering running for President next year.

Like anyone is going to vote for somebody that has Bush as their last name ever again. Why doesn't Roger Ailes just cut out the middleman and run for President already?

    ReplyDelete
  84. Burt Macklin, Man Without FearMay 2, 2015 at 11:17 AM

Without spoiling, there's a fake post credits scene somebody made that fooled the fuck out of me. Thought it was real.

    ReplyDelete
  85. I think spoiling fake scenes is okay, Burt!

    ReplyDelete
  87. Sneaky good pick by the Texans taking Jaelen Strong from ASU in the middle rounds, I think that guy is a stud in the making and a good pick if they're looking for a guy to eventually replace Andre Johnson now that he's gone.

    ReplyDelete
  88. I just laughed out loud at a Skittles advert. I must be sober-drunk.

  89. Extant1979 - Extreme SuperstarMay 2, 2015 at 11:22 AM

Giving away comics for spending $15? What a ripoff? People at the comic shop I went to walked in, grabbed free books and left, like a bunch of thieves.

    ReplyDelete
  90. I made the mistake of reading replies to the tweets. There are some high-class people out there.

    ReplyDelete
  91. Yep. If he thinks he's innocent, then why would it matter if they were there? He's a guy who I hope for an ACL shred at least every time he gets in the ring. Inhumane piece of shit.

    ReplyDelete
  92. Burt Macklin, Man Without FearMay 2, 2015 at 11:23 AM

No because revealing the fake scene eliminates it as a real possibility.

    ReplyDelete
  93. God the Manchester United game is dull. End the season already!

    ReplyDelete
  94. Fair point. I have seen a decent few comments along the lines of "I won't spoil, BUT...." which I'm sure is quite annoying to those planning to see the movie.

    ReplyDelete
  95. ThebrazilianpsychoMay 2, 2015 at 11:24 AM

I Liverpool after I heard "When Maggie Thatcher dies".

    ReplyDelete
  96. Taking the family to see the film tonight, AVX style. Bought tickets a while back. Took the kids and wife to FCBD this morning, allowed two books a piece in town, with one side letting you get two more if you help a local charity at the till. Reading the son's books so far. I've read the Valiant 25th anniversary, the Tick, the Comic Book Defence League, and the Avatar issues. The Valiant and Tick stuff is tops so far.

    ReplyDelete
  97. Picked up the D&Q, Fantagraphics, Boom Studios, Doctor Who and Bongo offerings. Got a bus journey tomorrow, so will be reading them then.

    ReplyDelete
  98. Ray Stevens' version of The Streak is pretty good though.

    ReplyDelete
  99. I'm a Liverpool supporter. We take our (justified) grudges *very* seriously.

    ReplyDelete
  100. Picked up Doctor Who as well. Looks interesting.

    ReplyDelete
  101. What did you think of the plane?

    ReplyDelete
  102. ThebrazilianpsychoMay 2, 2015 at 11:29 AM

The greatest chant I've ever heard, fuck Thatcher.

    ReplyDelete
  103. What an odd game to televise. There's nothing on the line at all.

    ReplyDelete
  104. Out of 4.3209523935823753fdhuweh fake spoilers.

    ReplyDelete
  105. When they sorted the May fixtures out for TV we were on quite the roll. I think the title was still meant to be *slightly* on the line tonight

    ReplyDelete
  106. ThebrazilianpsychoMay 2, 2015 at 11:31 AM

My client Manny Pacquiao will be the 1 in 47-1.

    -Paul Heyman.

    ReplyDelete
  107. Was it a Liverpool or United fan? Either way, I think it's pretty classless.

    ReplyDelete
  108. Ahh come on, you can't blame us for that!

    ReplyDelete
  109. No, it's just a rumour I'd read. Anyhow, surely this disgruntled fan would prefer Klopp.

    ReplyDelete
  110. I don't know what it says about comics that I'm more into the freebies from today than anything Convergence related.

    ReplyDelete
  111. I live in a sad, lonely, comic shopless town. And record shopless town too. All these retail relative holidays are lost on me.

    ReplyDelete
  112. Whoa. That's an awesome deal. Basically seeing Avengers 1, in 3D, for free.

    ReplyDelete
  113. Other thread, buddy. Hide your shame.

    ReplyDelete
  114. I've lived in close proximity to Vermont most of my life and never done that, really should bring the kids.

    ReplyDelete
  115. I'm glad that art has died with the download era.

My CD copy of Nevermind doesn't have "Endless, Nameless" on it. I'd heard the first few thousand prints didn't include it but I didn't buy the album until like 99. Did I just happen upon an old print or did they stop adding it at some point? I always wonder.

    ReplyDelete
  116. Ah, warmest day of the year so far. I'm at the side of my garage, and saw a hottie in a sports bra and tiny shorts just jog by. Spring.

    ReplyDelete
  117. The relegation battle's the only interesting thing left. Villa won today (thank God), but still aren't out of it in 14th. QPR and Burnley are pretty much gone, but who joins them, it's too close to call.

    ReplyDelete
  118. Avengers: Age of Ultron was absolutely awesome. Best Marvel film so far... even better than the first one.

    ReplyDelete
  119. So who's going to win this boxing thing tonight? I guess these guys are both pretty good? Is there a favourite?

    ReplyDelete
  120. Money is the favorite.

    ReplyDelete
  121. My housemate, a Sunderland fan, is not enjoying it. I say Newcastle have a greater chance of going down.

    ReplyDelete
  122. Nah Hemsworth held up his end well. He's like Sting, fair to decent on his own but capable of greater things when paired with Loki's Flair.

    ReplyDelete
  123. I'm a longtime fan of the show (since childhood) and a comics reader, and yet the combination of the two has never really appealed. I have a few collections of strips from the 80s, they just don't do much for me.

    ReplyDelete
  124. Gronk is at the Kentucky Derby.
    https://pbs.twimg.com/media/CEBBjA5W0AEoYxW.png

    ReplyDelete
  125. Yeah, Newcastle are awful. They should be thankful Pardew got them the points he did before he was hounded out, or else they'd be in real trouble.

    ReplyDelete
  126. And United are 1-0 down!

    ReplyDelete
  127. It always surprises me how much kids like that movie. It's great but its so subtle I always assume itll be lost on them. I must not give kids enough credit.

    ReplyDelete
  128. Bonnie Bernstein: “"Dear Mayweather camp: You might wanna focus more on controlling your fighter around women than banning the women covering this fight"

Oh yeah. There was another theater in town with the same offer but it was $20.

    ReplyDelete
  133. I'm the Bizzaro Joe Gomez

    ReplyDelete
  134. By the end of the weekend, the Orioles will have been renamed the Baltimore Martin Luther Kings and the Ravens will be the Heroin Dealing Freddie Grays.

    ReplyDelete
  135. Women don't really have a dog in this fight. Would you rather be physically beaten or cheated on?

    A real Sophie's choice.

    ReplyDelete
  136. Michigan State fans, is Langford any good? Chicago picked him up in the fourth. Kinda surprised.

    ReplyDelete
  137. Watched the "Nelson vs. Murdock" ep of Daredevil last night.

Loved how they addressed the elephant in the fanboy room by a simple "What about that Greek chick?" line during a flashback.

    ReplyDelete
  138. SHES A CRACK WHORE
    *clap clap clapclapclap*

    ReplyDelete
  139. Cheated on would be the logical answer there.

    ReplyDelete
  140. To be fair, nobody expected these 'protesters' to be awake before noon anyway I guess.

    ReplyDelete
  141. You'd be surprised to hear the contrary. I'm going to go ahead and call it a no contest.

    ReplyDelete
  142. TATER

Shouldn't you be about rioting in celebration of the royal spawn?

    ReplyDelete
  143. They're the Spanish Inquisition.

    ReplyDelete
  144. Black Plague is more accurate, if we're talking about destruction of Europeans.

    ReplyDelete
  145. Yeah sorry. These ridiculous 'rallies' are angrying up the blood.

    ReplyDelete
  146. "Angrying up the blood" isn't an excuse for racism.

    ReplyDelete
  147. Nobody expects the Spanish Inquisition!

    ReplyDelete
  148. Floyd's PR jezebel is spinning like crazy to say that Beadle was never banned and is cleared to be there. No word on Rachel Nichols.

    ReplyDelete
  149. I hate the monarchy with every fibre of my being

    ReplyDelete
  150. I'm willing to riot over Manchester United's utter collapse though

    ReplyDelete
  151. ThebrazilianpsychoMay 2, 2015 at 12:25 PM

    Fuck monarchy, that's right.

    ReplyDelete
  152. It's such a divisive issue, with strong feelings on both sides, but I think we can all agree that MrA will likely have the shittest comment on the whole thing.

    ReplyDelete
  153. Wow, a princess born AND a highly anticipated punching derby. What a day!

    ReplyDelete
  154. WHAT A LOVELY DAY

    ReplyDelete
  155. Bleurgh! Throw in United losing again and we have one of the shittest days in world history.

    ReplyDelete
  156. ThebrazilianpsychoMay 2, 2015 at 12:30 PM

What makes a more important than other babies, just because her family has "royal blood", bullshit.

    ReplyDelete
  157. ThebrazilianpsychoMay 2, 2015 at 12:31 PM

Monarchists are the worst kind of people.

    ReplyDelete
  158. Arms dealers, Nazi's and pedophiles. A true crime family. Not a fan.

    ReplyDelete
  159. Well, looks like we've opened up the race for 4th again!

    ReplyDelete
  160. All the political and morality stuff going around lately really has me down. I'd rather talk about the Cena heel turn or Montreal. So, what's going to happen first? Cena turning heel or Bret admitting the whole Montreal thing was a work?

    ReplyDelete
  161. I'm generally pretty neutral about the monarchy, but if we accept that some people want to celebrate Kardashians, then I can accept that people want to celebrate royalty as well.

    ReplyDelete
  162. ThebrazilianpsychoMay 2, 2015 at 12:35 PM

The only monarchy I would accept is the Lesnar monarchy.

    ReplyDelete
  163. Hmm. Apparently the earliest editions AND some later editions didn't include it. Good for them! It's not that great a track.

    ReplyDelete
  164. I watched ep 6 of Daredevil. Parts of it are starting to annoy me. I think that I'll tap now. Still, 6 eps is more than I've seen of any show in about a decade.

    ReplyDelete
  165. Burt Macklin, Man Without FearMay 2, 2015 at 12:39 PM

I think we're really close to Bret admitting it was a work. Like a year or two max.

    ReplyDelete
  166. I overwrote the original comment, it was an over-reaction too.

    ReplyDelete
  167. If Mayweather handles Manny tonight, is there a boxer in the world who can beat him?

    ReplyDelete
  168. Yeah, I'm sure after reaction exploded she went and hurried to put 'em both on, making sure to claim they were somehow mistaken.

    ReplyDelete
  169. I hate when Jim Ross keeps on harping about the greatness of Mid-South or whatever.

You called Bret Hart and Shawn Michaels' matches in their prime, mother fucker!!

    ReplyDelete
  170. He's getting up there in age so there is no need to hold it in any longer. Actually, letting it go may prolong his life.

    ReplyDelete
  171. that doesn't speak to the overall quality of the product. When Bret and Shawn were in their respective primes, the television shows were terrible.

    ReplyDelete
  172. So are Americans joining most British in our complete apathy over the birth of William & Kate's new daughter?

    ReplyDelete
  173. ThebrazilianpsychoMay 2, 2015 at 12:49 PM

    Don't forget the Brazilians.

    ReplyDelete
  174. Alright, Devin Harris...you're on my list.

    ReplyDelete
  175. Finding true hidden gems in regards to WWE PPV has been real fun. Judgement Day 2008 and Elimination Chamber 2011 are two shows no-one talks about yet from a wrestling standpoint are consistently fun and entertaining from top to bottom.

In a wrestling year everyone remembers the excellent and the absolute worst but those shows that hang around the very good range are totally forgotten.

    ReplyDelete
  176. I'm actively opposed to the child rather than apathetic. If there were a change.org petition against it I'd sign it.

    ReplyDelete
  177. I'd rather be on Stone Cold's list

    ReplyDelete
  178. You are against the 6 hour old child because of it's political views or because it has personally insulted you?

  181. People really gotta come to some kind middle ground on infidelity. It causes so much grief and its just not possible to ever really be safe of without doing major collateral damage. I just don't see how people find it to be the worst dealbreaker there is. If my girlfriend cheated on me my only concern would be whether it was safe. And it bothers her that I feel that way.
