Mayweather vs Chyna

I noticed the WWE trying to ride the coattails of the big fight tonight, had a special featuring Mayweather's WM match with Big Show.

The same Mayweather who has been arrested/cited multiple times for domestic abuse. Meanwhile they want nothing to do with Chyna.

Clearly Porn films are much more harmful to society than a female being battered by a professional boxer.

Stay Classy WWE – Be a Star!

I'm gonna have to step up and defend WWE a bit here, I guess.

a)  There's way more issues with Chyna than just the porn films.  She's a repeated drug addict who has trashed the company in public interviews and embarrassed the wrestling business repeatedly.  Doing a "porn parody" where she takes part in a portrayal of Vince having sex with his own daughter isn't exactly a good way to make amends with the company.

2) If you're going to criticize WWE for trying to cash in on the Mayweather fight, you should probably levy more of that criticism on the boxing world for allowing him to continue fighting in the first place.  WWE has the footage, they might as well try to recoup some money out of his Wrestlemania appearance.

c)  The two things really have nothing to do with each other in the first place.  If they were featuring Mayweather while snubbing someone like Steve Austin for his domestic abuse issues, THEN you'd have a valid complaint.

Comments

  1. Chyna could never make amends, anyway. Good for her making whatever $$$ she still could with her celebrity and negative talent.

  2. Insufficient outrage here, Scott. It's 2015 and we're on the internet. You gotta be outraged at everything, all the time, pretty much forever.

hi why floyd but no he-she

    ReplyDelete
  4. HHH dumped her. It's not like they broke up or had a mutual parting. Chyna got dumped for the bosse's daughter and by extension, her WWE career was over. I'd be pissed too.

    ReplyDelete
  5. I'm outraged by that statement!!!!

    FUCK YOU!!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  6. I am OUTRAGED at the rules you are laying down about internet outrage and I intend to write a lengthy blog post detailing the extent of my outrage in list form and will possibly start a gofundme to raise awareness of internet outrage, and I am further outraged that Mug O'Hoss got the first reply in

  7. Since I am the one who sent Scott the e-mail. Let me clarify. I wasn't crticicizing the WWE's decision to disassociate itself from Chyna, just the inconsistencies in their corporate philosophy. The boxing orgs don't have a "be a star" campaign - WWE does.

  12. Mike Tyson was a convicted Rapist but he still got to referee at Mania. Steve Austin hit his wife but is still a hall of gamer.

    ReplyDelete
  13. WWE going too give you a push

    ReplyDelete
  14. If Benoit's wife & child could have ecsaped the house when Chris was on his murderous rampage, he'd be in the WWE HOF today...

    ReplyDelete
  15. Your e-mail fucking sucked. Fuck you

    ReplyDelete
  16. Or if he was named Snuka.

    ReplyDelete
  17. PBF's name draws money and Chyna's name does not. WWE isn't in the business of altruism and they aren't obligated to be either. You def. have a good point but the WWE is just like any other corporation out there. "Be A Star" is just a catchphrase to them that they think will help them make money

    ReplyDelete
  18. I'm with you on this. And Mayweather's domestic abuse history extended back before WWE ever used him. The fact is in the public eye a serial abuser that is extremely good at a sport is forgiveable, a female celebrity who got into drugs and porn is permanently slut shamed. Says a lot about our collective issues with women.

    ReplyDelete
  19. yes, guilty as charged

    ReplyDelete
  20. Oh, I understand the business reasons. My e-mail was one of cynicism not outrage

    ReplyDelete
  21. Would the WWE have Ray Rice on as a guess host of RAW right now - no, but that can't make any $$$ from him

    ReplyDelete
  22. If they thought Chyna could make them money they would hire her tomorrow. Mayweather is of use to them, Chyna isn't. That's all there is to it really.

    ReplyDelete
  23. I feel you. The WWE is a very hypocritical corporation doing business in a very hypocritical country. Your email reminded me of the time CM Punk tried to call out Chris Brown while also talking about how awesome Stone Cold is

    ReplyDelete
  24. I think another issue is Chyna (from what we know) is not all there mentally and could wind up overdosing/pulling a Benoit a week after they put her in the HOF or acknowledge her on TV. On the other hand, nobody would be looking at WWE's direction if Mayweather did something crazy because he's obviously way more associated with boxing

    ReplyDelete
  25. Aye. Anything can be forgiven except uselessness.

    ReplyDelete
  26. This isn't quite as ridiculous as worst in the worlds meltdown about wasting Rousey. Can't blame them for using Mayweather stuff.

    ReplyDelete
  27. It comes down to whether the WWE can draw money and positive mainstream attention.

Mayweather, for all his transgressions, is relevant and draws a ton of money. Chyna is fifteen years out of her prime, devolved into the sleazy world of pornography and may or may not still have substance issues. Aside from fulfilling the wishes of long-time Attitude Era fans, it makes absolutely no business sense of WWE to get involved with Chyna.

Yes, the WWE has a double standard when it comes to whom they chose to do business, but I can see their reasoning in this case.

    ReplyDelete
  28. I see "white knight" Ryan is back again

    ReplyDelete
  29. I just watched some of the Floyd/Big Show stuff for the first time. That was all very well done. Booking Big Show to throw Floyd out of the ring was crazy. The pull-apart brawl with Shane getting trampled. Shitttttttttttttttttttttttttttt

    ReplyDelete
  30. Have no interest in seeing Chyna on tv - just find the WWE's phonyness humorous

    ReplyDelete
  31. Hey man i've twice seen Doug Stanhope do a bit live where he totally eviscerated Chyna and her porn video and laughed hard, I just call it like I see it. That a piece of shit like Mayweather can still be a sports hero while Chyna is permanently toxic in the public eye is hypocritical. But dollar to dollar the value of WWE ever working with Chyna again isn't worth the shit bhn they'll eat whereas they felt Mayweather was. Can't blame them but I also don't have to agree.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Chyna continued to be a prominently featured star for an entire year after HHH dumped her. She left WWF on her own volition/craziness.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Hang on, wasn't Chyna also arrested for domestic abuse once?

    ReplyDelete
  34. Yeah she did, she got arrested after getting into a fight with X-Pac

    ReplyDelete
  35. Man, people are really worked up about Chyna not being in the HOF, which is weird since NOBODY gave a SHIT about Chyna being in it before the HHH podcast.

This is what outrage-as-a-hobby looks like in the wrestling world, huh?

    ReplyDelete
  36. There's money in Mayweather. There's no money in Chyna.

    ReplyDelete
  37. During the Ray Rice ordeal i remember reading the BOD daily update about how WWE issued out a press relase about they hhave no tolerance to that. And everyone pointed out how thats true unless they can make money somehow then they dont care. We all got it right.

The thing though i find weird is HHH was interviewed about his friendship with him. And I believe the number is 5 times mayweather got in trouble with hitting women. And if you read what actually happend it's absolutely disgusting how and uncomfortable reading it. Id have a hard time respecting anyone who is friends with a piece of shit like that. Especially considering he has daughters at home.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Scott is way off the mark here. Chynas porn and drug issues hurt no-one but herself. Mayweather hurt women therefore he is far worse than Chyna. And I've never seen this porn that's supposed to have a Vince steph incest scene (although now I got to find it because it would be hilarious) However it would be hypocritical for Vince to be mad at Chyna for that because he wanted to do an incest angle with Steph himself (And who can blame him Steph is hot).

    ReplyDelete
  39. No one ever said Chyna was worse than Mayweather, for one thing, and, uh...

"(Vince) wanted to do an incest angle with Steph himself (And who can blame him Steph is hot)."

    Who can blame him? Uh...

    ReplyDelete
  40. I know Bad joke. Sorry

    ReplyDelete
  41. Too many other things in Chyna

    ReplyDelete
  42. Including your name

    ReplyDelete
  43. Didn't she lose to Joey Buttafuco in a celeb boxing fight? I thought x-pac had "educated feet" too. Was it like a drew/taryn deal where he just stood there and took it because he doesnt hit women. Considering X-pac called.chyna a "cunt" in a shoot video bayless covered once I dont think he has that same respect for women.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Completely agree with Scott on this.

    ReplyDelete
  45. If Chyna dies/pulls a Benoit the week after going into the HoF then her actions do hurt others. She hasn't done anything to demonstrate that her head's in the right place these days, in fact quite the opposite - she released that weird twerk video and also badmouthed HHH in recent months

    ReplyDelete
  46. I really enjoyed that match, and there were definitely a few "Holy Shit" moments during the build.

    ReplyDelete
  47. Warrior died the week after his hof inductee and WWE turned out ok. Ultimately its about money. There's plenty of money in Mayweather but none in Chyna. Ultimately WWE has a fake hall of fame. The debate should be if China deserves in for her career (which is actually debatable because she had a hot couple of years but then threw it all away). If WWE's Hall of Fame had any legitimacy this is what we would be debating and not any insults she said about HHH

    ReplyDelete
  48. Well you already know what I'm gonna say about Warrior - he died of natural causes whereas the worry with Chyna is that she'll do something crazy and it will reflect badly on the WWE. She does deserve to be in there for her achievements for sure, but I can understand the decision not to induct her (best for business, etc)

    ReplyDelete
  49. Having NOTHING to do with his steroid use. . .sure. . .

    ReplyDelete
  50. I see what you're saying about it "just" being a suicide then, but if Nancy were alive and telling everyone that Chris were trying to kill everyone, I doubt that would improve his reputation/chances.

    ReplyDelete
  51. I'm surprised that Floyd "got" the whole thing. He wasn't a great promo but he knew how to play to the crowd. Sitting on the turnbuckle counting money was GOLD!

    ReplyDelete
  52. When someone smokes cigarettes for 30 years then quits for 20 then dies from cancer, it's still considered dying from natural causes

    ReplyDelete
  53. That's my point actually. It's all about business and has nothing to do "moral character" as they claim. If they could make money off Chyna she would absolutely be in the HOF.

    ReplyDelete
  54. Agreed she would be in the HOF and on RAW this Monday if she could make them money

    ReplyDelete
  55. You're clearly looking to criticise WWE over anything. This is such a stupid issue.

    ReplyDelete
  56. No, it doesn't.

    ReplyDelete
  57. People who continue to criticise WWE over the Chyna stuff are just people looking to criticise WWE over anything.

    ReplyDelete
  58. I'll say this for the e-mailer: he has more reach than Mayweather.

    ReplyDelete
  59. "WWE isn't in the business of altruism and they aren't obligated to be either." That is an excellent sentence and extremely true. I think this should always be kept in mind.

    ReplyDelete
  60. That's fair, I retract my earlier flippancy :)

    ReplyDelete
  61. People are harping on the porn issue being the sole reason, but it was pretty clear HHH was trying to be diplomatic in his answer to Austin on the podcast. It was a safe answer rather than blasting Chyna for all the stuff Scott mentioned, which he easily could have done.

    ReplyDelete
  62. He thinks it makes him look less like a fedora wearing pole smoking Matt perriesque retard

Chyna has burned more bridges than a Japanese prison camp commandant.

    Watch some old movies, kids.

    ReplyDelete
  64. Vince only cares about the money. There isn't any to be made by putting Chyna on TV or giving her a rub (plus she's in the doghouse anyway), but he knows Mayweather was about to do an earth shattering buyrate and he wants to associate his product with successful, mainstream figures. He doesn't care about their character in either case.

    ReplyDelete
  65. Mayweather's domestic violence stuff started in 2001. Everyone has known about it for 15 years and no one cared. Love how everyone is getting all indignant now.

    ReplyDelete
  66. Agree with Scott. Chyna didn't just burn her bridge she took a diarrhea dump on top of the ashes after.

    ReplyDelete
  67. Personal and societal growth. So weird.

    ReplyDelete
  68. And if she wasn't still doing those things, she'd be in.

    ReplyDelete
  69. Lol who's the clown that sent this email?

    ReplyDelete
  70. Yea just watched their WM24 match last night. Still one of the better celebrity wrestling matches. Mayweather was perfect in his role

    ReplyDelete
  71. People dont generally associate Floyd on first thought as woman-beater, they think "Biggest boxer in the world". First thing people now think of Chyna is train wreck pornstar drug addict

    ReplyDelete
  72. Honestly is this something anyone should give any fucks over?

  73. CruelConnectionNumber2May 2, 2015 at 3:14 PM

WWE'S BOOM PERIOD happened because they signed a rapist for WrestleMania.

    ReplyDelete
  74. Mayweather didn't threaten to kill Triple H recently. Are there really people who care if Chyna's in the Hall of Fame?

    ReplyDelete
  75. Chyna THREATENED TO KILL TRIPLE AND STEPHANIE weeks ago. She's a fuxking lunatic who will show up at the HOF fucked up on aomething and give a bizarre and embarrassing speech that could easily turn into more threatening and ranting....this assuming she makes it through the weekend without being found unresponsive in her hotel room.

    ReplyDelete
  76. Steve Austin has made amends for his behavior, Chris Brown was still throwing chairs through windows when asked about it.

    Not the same thing.

    ReplyDelete
  77. Porn is no sleazier than wrestling or reality TV.

    ReplyDelete
  78. Yes. Deserved or not, Chyna was very popular in her day.

    ReplyDelete
  79. I never heard of this. Got a link? Im googling it and can't find anything. Obviously if she threatened murder, legal action should be taken.

    ReplyDelete
  80. Having a bad relationship with an ex is not the same thing as thinking negatively of all women. Now, if you have a bad relationship with EVERY one of your ex's, maybe something can be said about it, but Pac seems to get along fine with Ryan Shamrock for the most part.

    ReplyDelete
  81. Surprised the emailer didn't reference WWE inducting CONVICTED RAPIST BOXER Mike Tyson being inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame.

    ReplyDelete
  82. This is the Blog of Doom. We do not accept the Voice of Reason here!

  83. You're not trying very hard. I found out about it just be Googling the Chyna THREATENED TO KILL TRIPLE AND STEPHANIE weeks ago that HartKiller_09 supplied you with.

    ReplyDelete
  84. I totally see Scott's points, though pointing out "repeated drug abuser" seems silly - there would be around 2 people in the HoF if THAT mattered. Hell, wasn't JAKE THE SNAKE recently inducted?

    ReplyDelete
  85. You're completely right. And it's very well possible that he was well justified in saying that. It still doesnt take away from the fact that he comes across as classless and someone I wouldn't want to associate with by telling a child molestor that. And that's not even mentioning he also blasted all of WWE in the shoot and later joined back up with them which kills any creditability he had.

    ReplyDelete
  86. I watched The China Syndrome instead of the post-WM Raw. I feel I made the right move.

    ReplyDelete
  87. The main Reason for China being snubbed is probably because she continually trashed Vince, HHH, and the company. China would be on the outs with the company even if WWE burned all the Mayweather footage.

    ReplyDelete
  88. X-Pac has many, many flaws, but shitting on WWE then being rehired by them is an age-old tradition that I have no issue with.

    ReplyDelete
  89. I agree Chyna wrestled there for 4 years and if not for dx she wouldn't have been anything she still does porn and was a call girl why would I bring that in and get negative publicity for a publically traded company

    ReplyDelete
  90. She's out of her mind and accused hhh of beating her. I've bashed hhh but I don't belive he hit her.

    ReplyDelete

    ReplyDelete

    ReplyDelete
  96. Yeah because they are trying to better themselves. There's nothing wrong with that. I dont see mayweather doing that beside denying anything happening despite having 3 women admitting and having pictures taken afterwards and one of those womens kids wrote letter about what it's like being a kid and seeing his mom get beat up it . Those 2 examples are massively different. C'mon Jef, you should know this.

    ReplyDelete
  97. Yes, Im man enough (and apparently a bigger fan of horror films than I thought) to admit to have seen the Chyna wrestling parody and at no point do "Vince" and "Steph" have any sexual contact...

Oh and as much as they can down Chyna for doing that porn, I guarantee Vince had a bunch of belly laughs while watching it pal.....

    ReplyDelete
  98. Good post - I didn't do a good job making my point. I don't care about Chyna - no issue with her not being in WWE. My only point is that since they can't make money from Chyna - she is persona non grata, All their morals are BS, and the Be a Star program is a fraud. As for her bad mouthing WWE, so did Hogan, Piper, etc.

    ReplyDelete
  99. lol austin also beat his wife how come none of these aholes are crying about any association with him. Goodness the fakes out there are so transparent..

    ReplyDelete
  100. then let her clean herself and stop making dumb comparisons like these

    ReplyDelete
  101. yeah really growth while picking and choosing who to go after like mayweather and ignoring the other cases or attacking those athletes or as scott points out austin being around for 11 years after his while whining about mayweather

    ReplyDelete
  102. he said killed herself not just died

    ReplyDelete
  103. or if it wasn't personal with her hhh and steph then maybe

    ReplyDelete
  104. mayweather did his time and has changed since he left jail. His son wrote that letter and he was ringside cheering for his father last night. Mayweather has tried to clean up but whether he does or not is a different matter. It was a horrible incident and one he did time for so move on. People forgive their friends you know nothing about what hes done to clean up his life except your opinion.
