  1. Andy PG is alive? That's bigger news than this.

    ReplyDelete
  2. ROH as a lead-in to TNA? It will be VERY interesting to see viewership number comparisons between the two, especially if this becomes weekly.

    ReplyDelete
  3. Some people are wondering if Destination America's Twitter was hacked...

    ReplyDelete
  4. http://www.destinationamerica.com/tv-shows/tv-schedule/

not listed...I'll assume this is a fake or a hack.

    ReplyDelete
  5. This has to be fake.... I don't see "sports entertainment" anywhere, only this "professional wrestling" thing.....

    ReplyDelete
  6. Confirmed by ROH......TNA must be happy about this development

    ReplyDelete
  7. Maybe it's the same people who hacked all of Jericho's accounts.

    ReplyDelete
  8. It was confirmed by ROH

    ReplyDelete
  9. Looking at my feed they would have to hack Adam Cole and ROH's Twitter too.

    ReplyDelete
  10. If they really want to give each other a mutual boost - particularly TNA - they need to do an interpromotional feud.

    ReplyDelete
  11. How long before TNA Mecca bans any ROH discussion?

    ReplyDelete
  12. So the way I figure this...They figure he if a two hour blog brings more people in to TNA then maybe we will keep it...OR if we can get the same ratings with ROH at half the price ...Score..

    ReplyDelete
  13. Holy shit this means Samoa Joe will eventually appear on DA again but NOT ON IMPACT.

This is turning Shakespeare levels of tragic.

    ReplyDelete
  14. Press release from DA:

    ReplyDelete
  15. Also it appears to be a full time gig and not a one off.

    ReplyDelete

    Holy shit this is real???

    ReplyDelete
  18. TNA is deader than dead. Final nail in the fuckin coffin.

    ReplyDelete
  19. If their Twitter was hacked, then so was their Facebook.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Christopher Daniels is taking it well.

Anyone think its weird that Destination America would put another wrestling company on their network with TNA already on it?

    ReplyDelete
  22. Yeah.

    About that...

    ReplyDelete
  23. Oh, man, look at Dave talking about how this is a follow-up to DA cancelling TNA. Doesn't he know that talk will get him sued?

    ReplyDelete
  24. kbwrestlingreviewsMay 27, 2015 at 11:56 AM

    EVERYTHING IS FINE!!!

    ReplyDelete
  25. Worst_in_the_WorldMay 27, 2015 at 11:57 AM

Man, I was hoping ROH would get a deal at a real cable channel like Spike.

So does this replace the weekly show on Sinclair channels? Is it the same show and it'll air on both DA and Sinclair? Very interesting.

Hope this shit show channel works out better for ROH than it did for TNA.

    ReplyDelete
  26. I'm assuming Joe's NXT deal precludes him appearing on TV elsewhere.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Are we sure that wasn't a TNA Mecca post?

    ReplyDelete
  28. So ROH airs at 8PM, TNA at 9PM.

It'll be interesting to see if there is a viewership drop-off between the two.

    ReplyDelete
  29. "TNA has contacted talent requesting they take place in a conference call at 3 PM today, so it appears Dixie Carter will be addressing the troops regarding the Destination America situation."
    -PW Insider

    ReplyDelete
  30. This screams to me DA is done with TNA, just trying to get TNA's audience acclimated to watching ROH and familiar with where it is and when it's airing and then will bury the hatchet in TNA's back.

    ReplyDelete
  31. I switched the original headline of this post to reflect the current news

    ReplyDelete
  32. Love how the official Press release is touting AJ Styles and Samoa Joe as attractions.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Wasn't he already confirmed for a ROH tv taping a few days ago?

    ReplyDelete
  34. Also, in the announcement, Jay Lethal had the world title.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Wow! Was anyone expecting this? Smart move by RoH and Destination America. Old TNA fans tuning in should be pretty pleased to see guys like Lethal, Daniels, and Kazarian on their TV's again. RoH will be picking up a lot of fans and Destination America will get a cheaper company with the same ratings.

    ReplyDelete
  36. I was curious about that too but Joe is named in the press release, so who knows.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Hopefully Sinclair are too smart to sign a napkin that state's "we will give you a show until we are bored."

    ReplyDelete
  38. E-C-W! E-C-W! E-C-W!

    ReplyDelete
  39. Kinda amazing that ROH has been able to take these small steps up the ladder.

    ReplyDelete
  40. Worst_in_the_WorldMay 27, 2015 at 12:09 PM

Hahaha, MVP is shitting on TNA on his Twitter. Called them out for keeping talent in the dark, and put out his email asking for bookings.

    ReplyDelete
  41. Well Impact is mentioned in the press release, so that's good, right?

    ReplyDelete
  42. He had a new belt made for himself that proclaims him the world champion, not just TV. It's been part of the angle with Jay.

    ReplyDelete
  43. Meh. He is pretty useless these days anyway.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Worst_in_the_WorldMay 27, 2015 at 12:10 PM

Well I would assume that unlike TNA Sinclair isn't run by a barely functional retard so yeah, they should be fine

  46. So what constitutes an indie wrestling company these days? Because ROH now has a cable and PPV deal.

    ReplyDelete
  47. That would be funny if ROH signed him, and he appeared on both shows

    ReplyDelete
  48. Worst_in_the_WorldMay 27, 2015 at 12:11 PM

And they still have the show on syndicated channels and are owned by a huge company, so yeah I'd say ROH is above indie level.

    ReplyDelete
  49. The Rick Rude of this era.

    ReplyDelete
  50. And they draw better than TNA. I don't see how you can make the argument that TNA is ahead of ROH now.

    ReplyDelete
  51. Worst_in_the_WorldMay 27, 2015 at 12:12 PM

Hahaha dude I think we're gonna see a migration of TNA talent over to ROH over the summer, until all that's left is Eric Young vs Spud in a dog food on a pole match for TNA's last episode in September.

    ReplyDelete
  52. So I wonder how this might affect (if it at all) Samoa Joe's deal that allows him to work both NXT and ROH dates.

    ReplyDelete
  53. ROH being the lead-in show for TNA is like when Jimi Hendrix opened for the Monkees

    ReplyDelete
  54. Worst_in_the_WorldMay 27, 2015 at 12:14 PM

Yup. Hell, I'd say even before this deal ROH had pulled ahead of TNA. Their weekly viewership on the syndicated channels was higher than what TNA got on DA, and yeah ROH actually runs regular house shows and a few PPVs a year.

And the talent flow (ADR, Joe, Styles, Daniels, Kaz) has been going in one direction for awhile now. ROH has pretty much been the #2 company in the US since January.

    ReplyDelete
  55. Budget only allows for dog food, OR a pole, not both.

I know we've always talked about if WWE/NXT would scoop up anyone from TNA after they close shop in September, but what about ROH? Who do we think makes sense for them to pull out of TNA's corpse?

I think Aries, Roode, Storm, and EC3 could all work in ROH. The last three especially would give ROH some guys that could stand out a bit personality and size-wise from the majority of the ROH roster.

    ReplyDelete
  58. DAs one demand of ROH...Kurt Angle is Champion

    ReplyDelete
  59. I thought Aries had pissed everyone off

    ReplyDelete
  60. Hopefully James Storm's mom can find Destination America on her television so she can watch Ring of Honor

    ReplyDelete
  61. Worst_in_the_WorldMay 27, 2015 at 12:20 PM

True, but a veteran like that shitting on TNA tells you all you need to know about what that "locker room" is thinking right now. They know they're rats on a sinking ship.

    ReplyDelete
  62. Thanks. I left for lunch as things got crazy. Sorry bout that.

    ReplyDelete
  63. Aries is a former two-time ROH world champion. So yeah, there's space for him.

    ReplyDelete
  64. Worst_in_the_WorldMay 27, 2015 at 12:22 PM

Yeah I have no idea. My following of backstage drama usually ends at WWE.

Oh well, I guess Aries might be a little fucked then. It pays to be nice, people!

    ReplyDelete
  65. Considering how Davey Richards allegedly left, I wouldn't hold my breath on the Wolves back in ROH.

    ReplyDelete
  66. Did Meltzer see this one coming?

    ReplyDelete
  67. Aries and Richards destroyed their bridges with ROH

    ReplyDelete
  68. Worst_in_the_WorldMay 27, 2015 at 12:24 PM

Yeah, then I guess bring Eddie back and team him up with another spot monkey and call them the New Wolves or something. Either case it's just an opening match act.

Well you know, I had heard things, I mean in wrestling you never say never, you know, an old promoter said once the thing you expect to happen, you know, that's never what happens, I mean there's been rumblings I couldn't talk about, I mean, you know ROH was pushing for this to happen and, I mean, you know...

  75. Worst_in_the_WorldMay 27, 2015 at 12:32 PM

And I'd say he's someone who actually used the TNA stage to tweak his persona and figure out how to get himself more over, so he'd actually be a hotter commodity now than he was a few years ago if he ends up back in ROH.

    ReplyDelete
  76. Worst_in_the_WorldMay 27, 2015 at 12:34 PM

I can't imagine that'd be allowed, especially since NXT would actually be airing directly opposite ROH.

if he is allowed to work ROH TV, then that might be a sign that HHH is looking to have some sort of working agreement with ROH, using them as an NXT feeder in the way Vince used to work with ECW.

    ReplyDelete
  77. It's almost as if TNA might be cancelled, and they are trying to fill that upcoming void...

    ReplyDelete
  78. Nobody knows for sure. I think it's unlikely that his WWE deal would let him appear on the TV of another promotion, but I'm sure we'll find out more soon. I mean, the first ROH episode airs a week from today.

    ReplyDelete
  79. Bully Ray also put them on blast a few months ago saying that when the general refuses to inform or direct the troops, the war is lost. Pretty clear who and what he was talking about.

    ReplyDelete
  80. Waffle waffle, hedge hedge. Seriously, I want TNA to have pulled some sort of miracle collaboration with ROH just to make Meltzer look like a fucking tool.

    ReplyDelete
  81. Considering they've forced Jay Lethal to midcard for 2 years, I wouldn't be thrilled to go there if I was a TNA worker.

    ReplyDelete
  82. I'd love the background on this. Can you briefly explain or provide a link?

    ReplyDelete
  83. I know it is bad to wish terrible vibes on TNA but LMAO. This is hilarious. Fuck me with a hose pipe in a prison shower and I'd still laugh my ass off at this..

    ReplyDelete
