The hard camera nonsense is really annoying. There's a crowd on the other half of the arena, guys.
"It’s like in Forrest Gump where Forrest travels through pop culture while Jenny travels through counter-culture. "So you're saying Punk and Joe are going to die of AIDS?
No way dude it's gonna outgross Head On for sure. Might even do as well as Scorsese's Gatsby.
I would never. Enjoy it dude
Jaws 3......................WHEN MUSLIMS ATTACK
Cracking Names and Taking Skulls
I love that Murdock is a cool customer, but not just another Bruce Wayne. He's an "everyman" but not a bumbling idiot. He can kick ass, but he's not some generic tough guy. He's a bit of a dark soul, but not some brooding douche. Brilliant character.
@MDMTedDiBiase favourited your tweet!
John Morrison would be great to get a Samoa Joe type deal to work a bunch of NXT cycles and house shows while still doing indies. That dude could tear shit up with Balor/Owens/Breeze/Joe.Fuck, Morrison would be great coming into Raw and sliding in as a top tier babyface, but that's another story.
I had a price
They need to come up with some original ideas that don't suck then. I agree that it could border on oversaturation, but every time I think they took too much risk (Guardians of the Galaxy), it ends up delivering. Rebooting 40-year old franchises is a different issue and not the comic movie industry's fault.
Surprise return to accept a Cena challenge?
That'd be excellent, but it'd suck to bring a guy back with a loss.
Owens interferes for the DQ? No one gets a "real" loss.
It's a Hollywood/movie industry fault. The movies get shittier and the prices get higher. I haven't felt compelled to go to the movie theater to watch a film since The Dark Knight.
He really would be a great guy to bring back; he's been doing well in Lucha Underground.
BUT YOU CANT SEE THEM HAVING FUN, GODDAMMIT
That's exactly how I've heard it explained to me. It's definitely something that runs completely opposite to what the West generally believes.
And Cody Rhodes tops my list of guys who need to get sent down to NXT and rehabbed ASAP. He needs to show up on NXT and shit all over the Stardust gimmick, and figure out how to either get over as just himself. Worked really well for Tyson Kidd.Cody could absolutely use 6-12 months having kickass matches/feuds in NXT and helping headline their house shows. I'd say the same would go for a few other main roster acts: Paige, Fandango complete with a brand new gimmick, and Damien Sandow.
Well, we'll show them! Especially for that FlagShare4LikeReply remark!
Are there really people that think Daniel Bryan sold out by wrestling in the WWE? I read comments on a lot of boards over the years and I think ive only heard that once or twice by obvious trolls . Nothing ever serious though. I never thought the IWC was THAT bad where they would want a guy to destroy their body for almost no money. Maybe im just naive.
I think Morrison is doing pretty well for himself doing indies and C-list movies. I think the door has always been open for him to return to WWE, so I guess he doesn't need the money (or the grief, or both)
The note about how Brock is awesome by doing something different is the killer.Everyone in the WWE is pushed to be exactly the same. For all the ribbing the indys get for pushing a roster of boring and samey vanilla midgets, WWE does jack shit to differentiate its midcard.
One of these days, when the WWE does an overseas tour or something, it would be BOSS if NXT 'took over' Raw. You could obscure the smaller roster size by running a one-night tournament, or giving the main event plenty of time (NXT Title Match/Women's Title Match perhaps). You could have the weekly NXT episodes build up to it for weeks, maybe have a few WWE v. NXT challenge matches built up as well. Run a bigger venue than Full Sail, but a smaller, more intimate setting than your usual RAW to differentiate it.
Also, how completely dead in the water is Sandow? What a shame. They really had a chance to make an upper midcard babyface if they'd had him decisively win the Miz feud and then followed through with him changing out of a comedy gimmick. Now he's probably worse off in his career than he's maybe ever been.
Like when ECW took over RAW in 1997?I like it, but a 3 hour show would be the death of NXT
Cody Rhodes is even more depressing to me than Rusev or Bray Wyatt; whereas the other two had their shot with top guys before the WWE crippled their pushes, Rhodes is far more talented, just as charismatic, and has been around far longer. But no matter how much heat the guy draws (glorious heel run as IC Champ, uber-heat with the return to face the Shield/Authority in 2013), he's always cast aside.
The only one I know of by me is an hour and a half away from me. I go there once a week during vacation.
Scratch that, when I go to change my lineup and it asks me to sign in (weird) it won't go through. Damnit, Miggy is DTD and I need to get him on to my bench!
Dont wory. The New Day will still play the black Panther guys.
True, which is why a Samoa Joe NXT deal might work really well.WWE gets to freshen up NXT TV for 6 months and have someone else who can help headline the NXT house shows, while Morrison can just have some good matches and make extra dough and not get caught up in typical WWE booking nonsense.
That's why you gimmick it and treat it like a Takeover special. The 2-hr. specials fly by on the Network; if you gave the main event 30 minutes, gave the women 20 minutes (all very doable) then ran a one-night #1 Contender's Tournament for the NXT Championship, plus maybe a special WWE v. NXT challenge match with one big star from the main roster? I'd wager that would make the 3-hour Raw broadcast far more palatable than it usually is.
Yeah, Cody seems stuck in a "generation" of wrestlers that WWE has sort of passed over. Cody, Wade, Ziggler, Morrison--- talented guys who got stuck in between the Cena/Orton Era and the Shield Era.
Here's how you know ISIS, despite all their and the Republicans claims of being dangerous, aren't really that much of a threat to America:Our country is filled with idiots who honestly believe that Obama is the leader of ISIS. All they have to do in one of their beheading videos is say that Obama is their ALLAH or something and watch people lose their minds.Because you know a few of those nut jobs would arm up and try to "take back" the White House.
Rhodes Scholars was a fun tag team too
I agree. Of course, I don't think WWE is going to make a habit of handing out Samoa Joe/Rhyno-style NXT deals.
It's funny - to me, Mizdow's treatment and the failing of the end of that angle is what drove me away from the product. Not CENAWINSLOLNot Roman ReignsNot the AuthorityNot the nonsensical Bella angleNot boring 3 hour RAWSNot booking Wyatt to lose to a guy who almost never shows upI gave up on WWE due to Damien Sandow. I had to sit on that one for a minute.
I'm not ready to cast Kofi Kingston out of that group yet, either: just because he's found success in a tag team as cool as the New Day has become means little over all, because he's been in tag teams often over the last eight years. If the New Day spins him out into a big threat for a major championship, then we'll talk.
They were fucking great. The segment they did with Rock on a random Smackdown was probably the best segment of Rock's whole Mania 29 run.
I've been a Cody fan for a while. Stardust is awful. He strikes me as an Arn Anderson type guy. Just a super solid upper midcard guy. He could be having good feuds with Barrett or Sheamus.
So ISIS isn't dangerous because rubes are stupid? Is that your reasoning?I'm trying to follow you here.
Oh yup, Kofi too, forgot him. He's pretty much the poster boy of that group.
What ever happened to Ted Dibiase Jr.?
For fuck's sake. Bryan and Punk are two of the biggest post-Attitude stars. This is so stupid.
I thought Cody was in that role, too, since he was always really good, but never great (bridesmaid, rather than the bride sorta thing). But that promo he cut during his mini-run with the Authority in the Fall of 2013, then the comeback with Goldust against the Shield sold me on the guy as a possible future main eventer.
I'm just saying, if they really wanted to cause some terror, actually cause some terror and prey on the (insanely unfounded) fears of our country. These guys supposedly have a HUGE social media outlet, so why aren't they using it?I SWEAR I'm not a terrorist or anything.
No, ISIS is dangerous. They're just not as dangerous or as a threat to America as the locals.
The new hit horror movie from WWE Films
I can't help but think that the fast, hard-hitting, stiff Indie Style that brought up guys like Bryan & Punk is a huge part of the reason why they got so burned out physically once they hit the big leagues and were big stars there. The infamously "Full of Finishers" ROH style probably shaved 5-10 years off of everyone's career in that company.
Flipping burgers in the parking lot.
I love that Fisk is an insecure adult baby rather than the typical brooding supervillain
I understand what you are trying to say but ...all the families of those getting beheaded my disagree with you
I dunno, along with those two and Kendrick, it's the third of those deals they've done in just the last few months. It might become the norm since HHH needs to keep NXT-TV hot and draw with his house shows, neither of which he'd be able to do easily without bringing in new (and name) talent every few months. It'd be interesting to see when TNA shuts down in September if HHH brings in any of those guys (Aries, Bobby Roode, and maybe James Storm seem to fit the mold) for NXT runs.
YOU EMBARRASSED ME IN FRONT OF HER!!!!
Washing his dad's feet? seeing if he can dribble a basketball enough times? Barking like a dog?
I know this is horribly cheesy, but Heath Ledger's line in the Dark Knight is very apropos when it comes to ISIS. "You know what, you know what I noticed? Nobody panics when things go according to plan. Even if the plan is horrifying. If tomorrow I tell the press that like a gang banger, will get shot, or a truckload of soldiers will be blown up, nobody panics, because it’s all, part of the plan. But when I say that one, little old mare will die, well then everyone loses their minds!"
Quit. Doing like...real estate and stuff now I think.
And then the Kevin Owens question has to go and be even dumber. Yeah, the guy they're booking as a ruthless killer who's bitch-slapping John Cena around sure is doomed.
He's doing a new role in WWE films as a guy rooting through coin fountains. I think they're calling it "The Quarter-Dollar Man".
Vanessa Fisk in Ep.8. Fuck...
Why, thank you, Big E. May you have continuing success with New Day.
I can see this. I'm not as familiar with ROH as many of you are, but from what I have seen, it could be brutal on those guys' bodies.
and Seth is pretty much the biggest thing in the WWE right now.
I went back in a few minutes ago, and the sign in is different. I think it was maintenance. All is good now.
Drogo was before Conan.
Maybe Vince is working something with him. If Sandow can get himself over enough times and not crack from Vince cutting him off at the knees...he will get the super push
I just saw a viral video or a car chase scene being filmed for Suicide Squad. The Joker is driving a purple car.I don't feel good about this movie...
I think you're vastly overestimating the number of nut jobs who believe Obama is the leader of ISIS.Just because 54% of the country doesn't approve of his job performance doesn't mean all those folks he's a stinky evil Muslim out to destroy 'Merica.
No you're not a terrorist, you just want the terrorists to win, I hear ya! #hottake
I'm not a Jared Leto fan.
That bit with the pin in the Corbin match annoyed me too. You can practically see the gears turning in his head, like, whoops, got to switch over to the other side, as opposed to just hit my finisher now I better pin him quick before he gets even a second to recover. Takes you right out of the moment, I think.
I checked their website not too long ago...let's see...:: checking ::There are a couple in the Chicago area, one of which is at the airport (fuck that), which would be about 2.5 - 3 hours away, none in WI, and none in IA. Apparently, B&J hate Hoss.Fuckers.
I'm ready for the movie to come out and live or die by the result instead of people freaking out over every still image that leaks
It's a fictional TV show. It's not supposed to be realistic, though I'd call it far from a standard shoot 'em up. The last season wasn't all that great though.
I'm not even anxiously waiting for it. I just think a purple car is very cartoonish.
Is that when she's in that white dress? Oh yeah
Also makes a mean omelette
I wonder if the incorrect characters on Hideo's shirts translated as "Glass ceiling 4 Life."
Well, it is based on a comic...
possibly but ..it's the joker it is cartoonish to begin with. Does it fit within the world they are creating is the question. I don't know if all this DC stuff will be good or not I'm just tired of the Leto hate when a lot of people thought the same about Heath or....(insert almost any guy cast in a comic movie ever)
Kind of like our forefathers armed up against the Bri-no, no, no, no.Not doing this.Carry on.
I guess time will tell. For the right guys it's worth it. Has Kendrick really wrestled that much though? I thought he was brought in mostly to train Eva Marie.
Sounds to me like it...boomeranged on them.
It is a cumulative effect.
I'm giving Suicide Squad the benefit of the doubt because I want it to be. The only thing I'm pissed about is the movie making the execs tell the Arrow show runners they can't use the Suicide Squad, Deathstroke, and ARGUS any more. Which really sucks because according to the actress who plays Thea, they were eventually going to bring in Harley Quinn. This is stupid because WB is adamant about the movies and shows being different, so why would it fucking matter if they're using the same characters
Grass ceiring, knowing Vince
It is far too soon to reboot that character. He could be the best Joker of all time and people are still going to hate him.
Movie is going to hammer us over the head with "Get It?" moments like that. And, Will Smith getting jiggy wit it.
And if you do it as a surprise (which is what the ECW one was treated as), you can do a couple of normal segments/matches first before shit goes down. I think the ECW one also had the return of the L.O.D. to the WWF.
"Maybe Vince is working something with him."HAHAHAHAHAHA good one man.
Joker needs to break into a bank and steal a gold record like Rob Halford did. Then the guard can rock out with a construction paper guitar.
Head doesn't count?
Probably just in case people end up thinking the TV version of characters is better than the eventual movie. It's dumb, but I can see them thinking that
Am I totally out of the loop or something....why is Arrow bringing in half of Batman's characters?
So TV is NXT, and the movies are Vince and Raw then.
Have you ever heard of a Green Arrow villain? Of course not. So they might as well use Batman's.
QUIT GETTING OVER WITHOUT MY SAY SO, PAL!
DC sucks and they know that all things DC rise and fall by Batman. None of their characters stand alone like Marvel's do. That's why we're getting Justice League right away and Batman vs. Superman is as interesting as they can make a Superman movie
Well that was my thought, but it seems weird they'd just pick and choose and do whatever they wanted. Is no one in control of the DCU as an entirety? Seems like someone should be saying "Um...none of these characters are Arrow's, leave them for if we want to use them for Batman."
Batman vs. Superman is going to do big enough money to make it a "success" in financial terms, no matter what. But if people end up being lukewarm about the product itself, does that mean Justice League is dead in the water? It's not like people are going to get excited about JLA based on the supporting cast alone. If they can't get BvS right, they really aren't going to knock Justice League out of the park
Underpants gnomes. That's what this is, basically.
That's completely why they did, but dumb as fuck
This priest explaining "Satan" to Murdock is awesome
They pull quite a bit from Batman rogues gallery (Ra's Al Ghul, Clock King, Solomon Grundy)
They should go complete Cesar Romero then. Leto can even refuse to shave his mustache (if he grew one) and just makeup over it.
To go off your praise of Matt earlier, I like that he's unabashedly a ladies man
All the priest scenes are amazing, from the very beginning of the damn show "I'm not asking forgiveness for what I've done. I'm asking for what I'm going to do."Fuuuuuuuuck.
Yeah, heel Emma is WAY better. I don't know if she stopped dying her hair or something too, but she's lookin' fwine too.
That long take of Matt in the booth monologuing is just fantastic
Yeah, she's maybe the hottest looking girl on the roster IMHO
Daredevil is like taking the hottest girl at the bar home, and then finding out the next morning she's not a total bitch, but doesn't want any long term commitment, but is totally dtf another time.Basically, Daredevil is a fuck buddy.
Ok, I am pretty excited for this:http://comicbook.com/2015/05/25/arnold-schwarzeneggers-the-legend-of-conan-will-be-brutal-sequel/
Foggy mentions Captain America. So is that an actual acknowledgement, or is Cap a fictitious character in this Daredevil lineage?
No it's all connected. When they're talking about "buildings coming down" and all that, they aren't referencing 9/11, they're talking about what happening in The Avengers.
R rating, tits and blood then. I'm cautiously optimisticm
Here's my thought on the shitty Joker.Maybe the thinking is to create a Joker that moviegoers will actually WANT to see get his ass kicked? The Nicholson and Ledger Jokers were fun and badass. This Joker will be a hateable dork.Basically the difference between cool heel and actual hated heel.
OK makes sense. They allude to that "incident" for sure
I just used the app on my iPad, all is well.
Yeah I about flipped when I made that connection, I just figured....it's NY they're probably talking 9/11, then they mention aliens knocking over buildings and it's like....oh shit, yeah this is all in the same universe!! Nice!
They're pushing ahead it with it regardless of reception. Too many eggs in that basket to turn back now
I'd like to see Subotai brought back, just so Gerry Lopez can get a payday. Too bad Mako isn't with us anymore.
They do; no Bats or Supes in their world. And with Suicide Squad, they now removed those characters from Arrow
Not the season when Vince was canoodling with Sasha Grey, and got arrested for his coke rampage. But that was all easily fixed at the start of the next season I guess.
I may have been wrong about Owens. Cena putting 'fight Owens fight' out there was small but significant.
I took that a bit differently. I took it like if there was a handfull of guys post attitude era that are huge. Punk and Bryan would be in there along with Orton, Cena, Brock, Otunga, Edge, Batista and Angle. Which I would think is fair.
Great show. Scorpio and Holly should have been a permanent team.
If it looks good and the soundtrack is at least similar, I'll be in. Fucking love the original film.
Urich had front pages that cover the climaxes of Avengers and Hulk in his office
And in the scene when all the bad guys meet up (sans Fisk) the Owl basically says "Every time these guys knock something over, it's more money for us."It's riddled with great references. As Art calls it, this whole MCU is just a fucking "embarrassment of riches"
Would be a cop out to recycle Poledouris score (even if it is my favorite score ever), but for sure something similar.
Oh yeah! When, um, the chick that Shitbrick liked in American Reunion got Avion hooked up with Mark Cuban, Vinnie bought shares for Turtle, or something.
It's blowing up huge for Netflix right now. I can't wait for Defenders once they introduce the other three MCU Netflix shows
Only score I like better is Braveheart.
I'm not a big fan of The Vaccines, but this new album sounds pretty good. They actually go for the hooks this time.
In this world, there has been an alien invasion (Avengers), crazy technological advances (Stark), gods (Thor), crazy government developments (Shield rise and fall), and people with generally incredible abilities.....but it still plays great as one dude deciding to try and help his little sliver of the world (Hell's Kitchen) against a very mortal enemy
That's a good one too. But I always have Conan going at the gym.
Stephanie giving HHH a handy in the theater while watching itYou're welcome
It's looking like Defenders vs. The Hand as the big showdown. At least, from what I've put together (see the Stick episode).
Where's jobber? He's quiet today. Maybe mourning the death of Steph Curry's spinal column?
That's what makes it so great, it's so close to street level compared to everything else. And the fighting...the fighting is just too good. I'd like to beat Nolan over the head with a DVD set of Daredevil screaming "THIS IS HOW BATMAN FIGHTS!!!!"
That was beautiful, man!
Maybe Option D happened to him :(
HHH giving Steph a handy, if things keep going the way they are.
He was around for 5 minutes this morning, seemed chipper enough.
Yeah, I'm good homie. A bit hung over, but that's to be expected.
I must have missed something.
Yeah, the choreography is fucking slick
Nope; I just continued my plan of imploding Fire Doug Melvin by getting rid of half of my rotation.
Also, Orphans of Doom/The Awakening may be one of the prettiest pieces of music ever.
Oh fuck me runnin'..... they finally meet.
Someone said yesterday evening that Jobber was eitherA)DrunkB)HighC)UnconsciousD)Deador something of that nature before the Warriors game.
40 minutes left, bitches!
It would be silly for anyone to think that. The goal of anyone's career should be to monetize their efforts to the max. Never understood the "so and so sold out" philosophy under most circumstances.
That was me lolI'm certain he got to C at one point.
A --> B --> C is usually the process.
A and B leads to C and possibly D?
I think it's probably E) Frustrated there has to be a Game 5 against these bozos.
So the assassin who shot the detective......we're suppose to deduce that it's Bullseye right? What if it's Frank Castle...
There's a site dedicated to easter eggs in the show and they mention if you look closely at the snipers bag, there's a playing card in it.
Ah I see. Love it.
Man, I really need to finish watching series as soon as they come out. I'm only 5 episodes into Daredevil and there are spoilers galore in this thread lol
Hoe anyone starts that and immediately doesn't burn through the whole thing is beyond me. The last day of our trip to Germany we spent just watching Daredevil...fuck tourism lol
But how hard is it to subscribe with a new email address each time?
You mean Ryback?Or Henry?Or Gork-only-knows how many other "monsters of the week" Cena has defeated in the last few years? It's hard to trust WWE in these situations now because LOLCENAWINS. I would have preferred they kept Owens away from Cena for as long as possible. (Don't get me wrong -- I've been a huge fan of Owensteen since he and Zaynerico were fighting against the Briscoes, and I hope that WWE does the right thing with him. Unfortunately, we only have history to go on, and it ain't good for people to face Cena, especially so early).
I love that Vince McMahon refuses to acknowledge or placate his audience: which is not entirely difficult to "get." Yet you have Marvel, with its decades of storylines and characters, and filmmakers who "get" the fanbase (easter eggs, special effects, dead-on character development, perfect casting, etc) and produce something even better than the fanboys could "book" themselves
So....the Punk vs. Joe series back in the ROH days........would that be Skinny Fat vs. Fat Fat?I somehow feel like I've said this before. It's entirely possible.
Yeah we staved off spoilers for weeks, but we're coming up on two months release so most of us have lifted that embargo
Oh I'm not saying there's a problem lol. I'm just saying that I need to keep up.
I think Art and I gave it...a few hours
sorry dude, I thought I was the last one standing who hadn't finished the series. lol
Has there ever been a Fat Fat vs. Fat Fat marquee feud before? Joe vs. Owens might be treading down rare territory.
Yeah I was marking out when they brought out the kid, then the appearance of Stone at the end. It was glimpsing Thor's hammer at the end of I think Hulk, and knowing were close to supernatural going ons in our previously Earthbound series
What's that famous punk v joe match? I've never seen an roh match before oddly enough.
No problem at all. It's my fault not yours.
TNA going to Destination America was like when CBS picked up Family Matters and Step by Step from ABC for one last season.None of those shows deserved to exist in the first place, let alone be picked up for one final running-on-fumes season.
Wow, that's pretty dead on.
Family Matters wasn't terrible at first, but they *really* jumped the shark with Urkel.
They need to have Murdock keep to his "no killing" thing for a while, if only because it will provide the perfect context for the eventual feud with Punisher
Or like Scrubs doing a weird "interns" season on ABC
Even I agree with this.
Or diff'rnt strokes going to abc for that final year....
It's crazy how much value there is with a Netflix subscription.
Yeah. You can find them on youtube last I checked. They're pretty good.
I've read loads of comments on here from people saying that so-and-so would be better off staying in NXT and not being called up to the main roster.
I think we're doing an OK job not giving away clearly the bigger shit that happens in the last few eps
Yes. And it works against the WWE Network for me. It's not that I can't afford the $10/month. It's that I can't justify the difference when Netflix (and ALL you get with that) is actually cheaper.
I'm surprised there's not a porn parody called Diff'rent Strokes. Actually, I wouldn't be surprised if there is.
I remember a few years ago when they bumped it from $7.99 or something to $10.99 or whatever it is and people online were losing their minds. Like what the fuck, it's still not the most stunning bargain after at eleven bucks?!
Yeah, you guys haven't spoiled anything. I'm on Ep. 9 now and nothing has been ruined
I'm interested to see how long the Marvel train lasts. I've seen all the movies and even I was a bit put off by Avengers 2 bringing up things I didn't have a clue about (didn't Tony give up being Iron Man at the end of Iron Man 3? Why did Thor leave to go take a bath halfway through the film? When did Black Widow fall for Bruce Banner?)At some point the franchise is going to become so bloated and self-referential it's going to turn off new fans.... just like comic books themselves, in fact. Plus, the actors aren't going to want to do them forever, and there's always the danger that the replacements don't win over audiences.
Was the skinny fat ass line a slip up? I hope so bc if not it was just really stupid
