NXT Morale Low Due to the Kevin Owens Push?

After Owens got called up to the main roster, there were some NXT talents, namely those who have been in Developmental "forever," who were upset to see a new guy come in and get fast-tracked. Tyler Breeze was one name who complained about this situation.

Reason For Recent Mickie James Storyline on Impact

TNA had to write Mickie off of TV because she had scheduled some autograph signings on the same dates as the next set of Impact tapings. At the moment, there is a lot of uncertainty regarding her future with the company and there is a chance she might not return.

Comments

  1. Well, I imagine the autograph signings may be more lucrative.

    ReplyDelete
  2. They can't cover what her pay for the signing would have been to get her to cancel and attend the TV taping instead? It's TNA so I'm guessing not - it's amazing to me how poorly the company is run.

    ReplyDelete
  3. "Crap, we need to figure out a way to write Mickie off TV for a couple weeks."

"I know! Let's KILL HER CHARACTER OFF WITH A TRAIN!"

    ReplyDelete
  4. But can you imagine the pop when she returns?! It'll be Mankind winning the title on RAW after Stone Cold's help huge!

    ReplyDelete
  5. It means NXT is a minor league developmental system and not WWE proper.

It's a hard concept to understand. Oh wait, it's not.

    ReplyDelete
  6. If it ends with Mickie drinking Steveweisers for ten minutes to close a PPV, I can already smell the money.

    ReplyDelete
  7. Just got into HOT LESBIAN PORN Mickie. It seems better than being killed by a train in TNA.

    ReplyDelete
  8. What the hell?

    Just cancel it already.

  10. Extant1979 - Extreme SuperstarJune 10, 2015 at 7:16 AM

Mickie James was thrown under a train because of an autograph signing? Classic.

Tyler Breeze is mad HE didn't get called up before Kevin Owens? He should be counting his blessings. He'd end up in the bunny suit before the end of his first episode of Raw.

    ReplyDelete
  11. Mo'fucking Virgil probably makes more money at signings than TNA wrestlers do at tapings

    ReplyDelete
  12. Extant1979 - Extreme SuperstarJune 10, 2015 at 7:16 AM

    That show is still on...?

    ReplyDelete
  13. It's so bad. Every story I hear about that show it just gets worse and worse.

    ReplyDelete
  14. I can't wait for the episode where Homer gets prostate cancer.

Watching Money in the Bank 2010. Matt Hardy got a surprising pop.

    ReplyDelete
  16. The topical shitfest that show is, I imagine a major character will undergo a sex change very shortly

    ReplyDelete
  17. Extant1979 - Extreme SuperstarJune 10, 2015 at 7:20 AM

    It'll definitely be Moe.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Yeah........that's nice to look at

    https://pbs.twimg.com/media/CGdtihTXEAA33Si.jpg

    ReplyDelete
  19. Moe doesn't deserve that kind of treatment

    ReplyDelete
  20. I'd understand Tyler's complaints if it was some body builder with no wrestling experience being pushed straight to the main roster, but Owens has worked hard for a long time just to reach this level, and he has been tremendous in the ring and on the mic since his debut. Tyler's day will come.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Maybe Breeze was accidentally CCed on the JUST HAVE FUN DAMNIT memos

    ReplyDelete
  22. Breeze was a project and Owens was basically that guy drafted in the MLB that needs a few months in the minors before he's good to go.

    ReplyDelete
  23. It can't be all that surprising that people complain. But seriously people of nXt....have you seen his act, it's really good.

    ReplyDelete
  24. It would have been funny if Jason Jordan was the one complaining.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Regarding Mickie - this is just the deck chairs floating off the Titanic; she was probably already on her way out (one of the few rats to still remain on that sinking ship) and this is one way to write her off.

I didn't say it was a SMART way of doing it.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Speaking as a big Simpsons fan in general, someone please put a bullet in this thing.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Nevermind that Owens probably didn't even need to go to NXT in the first place.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Owens def didnt need to go to nxt is right.

    ReplyDelete
  29. He was always pretty over in WWE.

    ReplyDelete
  30. also wo shearer burnsy ned n co. are going to sound uber weird... they should of stopped after season 10.

  33. Weren't they already divorced once?

    ReplyDelete
  34. A Very Special Episode of The Simpsons.

    ReplyDelete
  35. I like Tyler Breeze and I will just assume his gripe is with the sheer volume of guys who have gotten to WWE before him and not specifically a proven vet like Kevin Owens.

    ReplyDelete
  36. I've just remembered that you can't make jokes about this subject under any circumstances, so i retract my prediction.

    ReplyDelete
  37. No, you just can't TWEET jokes about this subject under any circumstances.

  42. That Billy Corgan is a creative genius!

    ReplyDelete
  43. It's shocking how many don't understand this concept.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Geez, Tyler Breeze...just because you have hair like Dolph Ziggler doesn't mean you should complain like him!

    ReplyDelete
  45. Just because Owens is good doesn't mean Breeze isn't right to bitch about it.

    ReplyDelete
  46. Jurassic World reviews are mixed. Still going to watch the fuck out of that movie.

    ReplyDelete
  47. If you call guys up just because they've been there forever, you get Adam Rose and The Ascenscion which has been colossal failures. There's no way Tyler Breeze would make any real impact right now.

    ReplyDelete
  48. He doesn't need to. Not everyone is going to be a main eventer.

    ReplyDelete
  49. I wonder if they address why people would go back to the Dinosaur theme park after Dinos at the first park tried to kill everyone.

    ReplyDelete
  50. "The world needs ditch diggers too."

    ReplyDelete
  51. Expected nothing less. Even the trailer seems mixed.

    ReplyDelete
  52. Probably because it wasn't a theme park when that happened.

  53. Extant1979 - Extreme SuperstarJune 10, 2015 at 7:58 AM

    Easy answer: people are STUPID.

    ReplyDelete
  54. Just seems so unlikely something like that would happen twice

    ReplyDelete
  55. He is really damn good... they should find a way to have him make an impact.

    ReplyDelete

    On Wednesday nights?

    ReplyDelete
  57. I agree, and I totally get the frustration, he has worked hard to improve and wants a shot at the main roster But I'd also rather see guys be put in a position to have at least a chance of succeeding as opposed to getting called up because "the other guys got called up too."

It was obvious they had something with Owens, and he was moving merch so you know Vince wanted him selling more shirts on Raw ASAP.

    ReplyDelete
  58. Heyyyyyy, they're a .500 team.

    Right now.

    ReplyDelete
  59. I mean, it's fairly distinct, right? It's never referred to as WWE NXT, verbally at least. For branding purposes sometimes, but otherwise the gulf is pretty well represented.

    ReplyDelete

  70. Extant1979 - Extreme SuperstarJune 10, 2015 at 8:13 AM

  71. Extant1979 - Extreme SuperstarJune 10, 2015 at 8:14 AM

Adam Rose, Fandango, Bo Dallas and the Ascension ARE... THE NEW, NEW Nexxus!

    ReplyDelete
  72. The thing that gets me is how Raw can be 3 hours and yet they somehow have less things for everybody else to do than ever before. It's like in Vince's myopic mind, longer shows means more and more segments for the main eventers. In theory, they could fill it with just as much stuff as an Attitude era Raw, but with actual pacing and structure.

    ReplyDelete
  73. Extant1979 - Extreme SuperstarJune 10, 2015 at 8:16 AM

I miss Jack Swagger as a semi-Main Eventer. He had the potential to be much better than how they ever utilized him.

    ReplyDelete
  74. What's funny is the title storylines have been the most poorly executed since Mania.

    ReplyDelete
  75. Tyler, I like you, but come on.

    ReplyDelete
  76. Oh boy...Chyna on the Opie and Norton show right now. X-Pac has called in and it's not going well.

    ReplyDelete
  77. Joey Jo-Jo Junior ShabbadooJune 10, 2015 at 8:25 AM

Swagger had the credentials and an "interesting" look, but he never found the right role. Same with Barrett, really.

    ReplyDelete
  78. Tyler Breeze as an opening PPV match heel to get the crowd pissed off is the way to go for him. Bo Dallas also works perfectly in that role. New Day has been working that really well as of late, which is doubly good as they've bolstered the tag division.

    Good day to you, folks.

    ReplyDelete
  80. Is this on a pay site?

    ReplyDelete
  81. Because they never made that in the 70s or 80s, so a remake isn't possible. You're not suggesting they try a new concept right?

    ReplyDelete
  82. Stranger In The AlpsJune 10, 2015 at 8:28 AM

Part of it was his weak promo skills, and possibly his lisp, which has been made fun of by other wrestlers and announcers. That's why they brought in Zeb Colter to talk for him. Fine wrestler, but he needed more than 'We the People" to connect.

    ReplyDelete
  83. Joey Jo-Jo Junior ShabbadooJune 10, 2015 at 8:29 AM

  85. I think Bray Wyatt should become the new Godfather. The pimp not the mafia don.

    ReplyDelete
  86. If Breeze, or anyone else complaining, were as good as KO, they'd have a point.

    They're not. Simple.

    ReplyDelete
  87. You wouldn't be mad at a guy at your job who'd been there for 2 months jumping everybody for a promotion? I know I would be.

    ReplyDelete
  88. NXT is obviously a planet in the WWE universe. Duh.

    ReplyDelete
  89. Belee_Matt!_INDEED!!!June 10, 2015 at 8:33 AM

But you'd be wrong if the guy coming in had 15 years more experience and a better resume than you.

    ReplyDelete
  90. Cause they wouldn't fit in a water park? Or hey into the areas where people are? And, a revenge flick has been done. Orca.

    ReplyDelete
  91. Joey Jo-Jo Junior ShabbadooJune 10, 2015 at 8:33 AM

If the guy was clearly more skilled and educated than I was? Sure, I might be annoyed, but I'd keep my mouth shut about it and work harder to improve.

    ReplyDelete
  92. It's not about good. It's about merch sales. And he has every right to complain. He may not be right but it's only natural to be pissed at the situation.

    ReplyDelete
  93. Anything fun?

    ReplyDelete
  94. Follow...the crabs?

    ReplyDelete
  95. While Breeze getting pushed immediately into a feud with Cena is a stretch - I can understand why he'd want to be 'called up'. And to some extent that's a good thing - they should want the NXT guys to be itching for a chance to prove themselves on the main roster. How they handle it may a different matter (you don't want guys whining), but I'm not going to fault Breeze for wanting to be on RAW.

    ReplyDelete
  96. Belee_Matt!_INDEED!!!June 10, 2015 at 8:36 AM

He can bitch all he wants, but it still doesn't change the fact that Owens has a shit ton more experience and a better resume than a guy like Breeze.

Not to mention the fact that a nice breeze (see what I did there?) could knock him over.

    ReplyDelete
  97. Joey Jo-Jo Junior ShabbadooJune 10, 2015 at 8:36 AM

Well, I meant a SeaWorld type place, not sure why I said "water park".

And if that's true, then MrTuesdayNight's point holds true and it's time for a remake! Blackfish basically sets the stage anyhow, might as well capitalize.

Rey Mysterio survives by the skin of his teeth against Jack Swagger, only for Kane to come out and cash in his newly-won briefcase for a title show. Rey is limping, injured and in no shape to compete. Why not just wait for the bell to ring and deck Kane with the belt? Draw the DQ and keep the title?

Sometimes, being a virtuous babyface is stupid.

    ReplyDelete
  101. Extant1979 - Extreme SuperstarJune 10, 2015 at 8:38 AM

Also, Kane's tombstone on Rey missed Rey's head by a good foot and a half.

  102. Cena vs Orton,one more timeJune 10, 2015 at 8:38 AM

Sadly, that is true in real life as well.

    ReplyDelete
  103. The mech sales came because of a connection he made to the audience, and he was ready. The necessary level of skill was there. Don't tell me you'd buy Tyler Breeze going clean over Cena.

    ReplyDelete
  104. SIMPSONS DID IT....... with dolphins, but the point still stands

    ReplyDelete
  105. The NXT guys are just pissed they all had to play ham slapping games with Bill DeMott to get to where they are and Owens just waltzed in, ham intact and went straight to the main roster.

    ReplyDelete

He has the right to complain, and WWE has the right to punish him for complaining or outright fire him. When the market for your line of work is as weak as wrestling is right now, you're better off keeping your frustrations to yourself.

  112. Honestly no - I started listening while X-Pac was on the air and they were arguing about her past drug use, and that seemed to pick things up a bit, but now that he's off the air it's incredibly boring. She is sticking to her "I'm the victim here" mentality about everything and denying having substance abuse issues.

  143. Yeah, you're a better than I, and most of the people I've been around. Complaining about job security is something that is widely done.

    ReplyDelete
  144. That's easy to say from here. These NXT guys are rumored to only make like $25k/year. Breeze is still fairly young, but some are already in their 30s. It has to be frustrating for them seeing NXT turn into indy smark wet dream land with new signings repeatedly.

    ReplyDelete
  145. And he is wrong, no doubt. But it is only natural to be pissed about the situation.

    ReplyDelete
  146. There's a reason Owens made the jump faster; he's better and legit future main eventer. Breeze has gotten a lot better over the past year, but as you said, he just needs to keep focusing on putting in work. There's only so many rockets to the big league but that's not the only transportation there, if you will.

To your friends and co-workers you trust? Sure. But you don't let that complaining reach the ear of your boss, because nothing good is likely to come from that.

  151. True on that.

  153. No one is saying he doesn't have a right to get annoyed, but he basically has two options. Keep working there and try to succeed (if that's his goal) or resign and go find another job/line of work.

You can still end up in a Chinatown opium den easy.

There's no WCW anymore. People need to realize this and act accordingly. Take that 25k and put aside as much as you can, and be thankful that you have a steady gig which pays well in a business notorious for bad paydays and guys getting outright stiffed on the indy scene. I'm betting some TNA guys would literally kill for Breeze's spot right about now.

Well since things are easy to say from here I hope he ceases to improve and systematically watches eeeeeveryone who has been there less than him called up while he wallows in mediocrity on the NXT roster until the end of his days. And once he retires no one speaks his name every again. Reduced to less than a foot note. A passing whisper lost to the wind. Forever.

  158. For all the SF folks here - what's the deal with SF Chinatown? Always heard how cool it was, and when I went there I was disappointed. Looked like a total dump and was basically two streets from what I could tell (one touristy and the other looked to be a bit more native)

  159. It would be impossible to put aside anything when you make that little amount of money.

  164. Watching some of these 93 raws. The crush heel turn was really well done. I'm surprised he didn't just get Ludwig Borgas spot

If you're single, I think it could be done with some sacrifices and a tight budget. With a family it would be much, much tougher, but I assume in those cases the wife is working so the husband can chase his dream.

  166. Affiliating with yoko and fuji was probably a big mistake but I don't see why heel crush wouldn't have a better foil for luger until the end of the year.

  167. Crush looked more menacing when he stopped highlighting his hair and let it grown in dark. You can't under-estimate the importance of good hair.

  176. I like Breeze as much as anyone who's been following NXT for awhile but does anyone see him having half the success on the main roster as Owens (or Zayn or FB)? Like if Breeze shows up on raw, even with the decent model gimmick he's really cultivated, is it possible he's anything more than a fandango or r truth type? How is Neville doing right now? Because Breeze wouldn't even crack that imo.

This album from FFS is pretty good. Franz Ferdinand collaborating with 70's/80's new wave group Sparks. Always been a fan of Franz Ferdinand.
