What to do with Cesaro?

With the Tyson Kidd injury and thus end of the BRC what can WWE do with Cesaro?  Some options I thought of were
A) tag team with "uninjured Uso" for obvious reasons, plus creates stories if partners come back
B) tag team with Neville. BRC2
C) reform Real Americans (hope not)
D) feud with Luke Harper (Rowan's hurt and they had a GREAT Indy feud
E) stable with Sheamus and Barrett (European Union) led by William Regal
F) Have him become a legit main event star (ha, yeah, I know)
G) future endeavor him, he'll be in ROH/NJPW in a second

A) I was actually thinking this would be a heck of an idea, since the other Uso isn't doing anything anyway.  Now this would also raise the question of why they don't just use Other Uso as a singles wrestler to put people over and have good matches to help fill up their 3-hour RAWs, but I guess this would fall under "because reasons", just like why they don't use Jack Swagger anymore.

B)  That's pretty much writing off Neville right away.

C)  I can see them doing this.

D)  Yay, another Luke Harper singles push.  This would do nothing for either guy.

E)  This is of course the money.

F)  He's Swiss, let's not be ridiculous.

G)  Could probably happen, sadly enough.

  1. Cesaro, Barret, and Annoying Irish Guy would be a hell of an asskicker stable.

    ReplyDelete
  2. How many times have the Sonics/Thunder gotten rid of him now?

    ReplyDelete
  3. E) would be cool if they found a Greek guy, make him borrow a bunch of stuff that he couldn't return, then they beat him up and turn him out.

Cesaro and uninjured Uso as the new Gangstanators.

    CESUNO

    ReplyDelete
  5. Backstage a fight breaks out in front of Cesaro while being interviewed

Interviewer: Are you going to help one of them
    Cesaro: No, I'm Neutral.

    Rinse, lather, repeat.

    Too topical for Vince?

    ReplyDelete
  6. Turn him heel and put him in the Authority. Eventually do a jealousy angle with him and Seth, and then Cesaro can take his place when Seth turns.

Also, the July 4th card has Cesaro vs Diego. They really need to change it to Cesaro/Brock.

    ReplyDelete
  7. G) Very little chance he's going to be released because: a. While the WWE don't see him as someone to be put at the top of the card, he's seen as a steady reliable hand who could always be counted on to put on good matches against any opponent. They still value that; b. His girlfriend/wife/whatever you want to call her, Sara Del Rey/Amato just got promoted to "Assistant Head Trainer" at NXT, so they will keep him because she's too valuable to NXT at this point.

Cesaro, Sheamus, and Barrett beating as should happen

    ReplyDelete
  10. Really should bring in Drew McIntyre for this

    ReplyDelete
  11. There's some guys in Harley Race's WLW that are real assholes

    ReplyDelete
  12. Cesaruso would be pretty fun. Give some personality to Other Uso and let Cesaro kick ass in the hot-tags.

Plus you give a cool dynamic to them. They've historically feuded and it'd let both show a little bit of personality. Hell No part 2, y'know?

    ReplyDelete
  13. I don't get the Authority storyline. What makes Seth the total package, ie; what's Hunter/Steph's motivation for teaming with this guy? Why is he better than Cesaro, or Neville, or ..anybody else? Why have they only brought in Noble and Mercury? Wouldn't it make sense for them to bring Sheamus or Cesaro or the New Day into the fold?

Card subject to change. I don't think Kofi will end up being the opponent.

    ReplyDelete
  14. I forgot he existed.

    ReplyDelete
  15. I'd go with "Usaro" as their cutesy name.

    ReplyDelete
  16. That's much better.

    The SwisSF Connection?

    Team Uppercut?

    ReplyDelete
  17. They could do a Nazi Gold gimmick for him.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Quick Q, Scott - Why would you think that having Uso Uno lose a bunch of one-on-one matches would be a good idea? Wouldn't that just unnecessarily make him look weak for when his brother returns?

I mean, I get that in kayfabe, singles and tag wrestling are two totally different arts and disciplines, but why job him out if you want the team to look strong later?

Also, what's wrong with a Luke Harper push? Making him a corporate kiss-up was a bad idea, but the dude can go in the ring.

    ReplyDelete
  19. The Future business was always bullshit, IMO. Seth is just a body, and he's craven enough to do whatever they want. It would've been Orton, but Orton's just too psychologically fucked up.

I think it started out as Triple H wanting to destroy the Shield, and then having to do something to placate Seth. And then he won MiTB and they kept stringing him along and it just kind of happened. Now he's gotten an ego and they're tired of him.

But I don't think Cesaro should turn heel.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Bring back Maso Ryan for even more power!

    ReplyDelete
  21. Cesaro 4 IC Champ

    ReplyDelete
  22. "What makes Seth the total package, ie; what's Hunter/Steph's motivation for teaming with this guy?"

He put together the team that destroyed Evolution.

"Why is he better than Cesaro, or Neville, or ..anybody else?"

    He wins.

"Why have they only brought in Noble and Mercury? Wouldn't it make sense for them to bring Sheamus or Cesaro or the New Day into the fold?"

Everyone needs lackeys. And those guys haven't joined because they don't want to be lackeys.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Doug was really good and very knowledgeable as well.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Cesaro Sheamus and Barrett in a stable is probably the best idea. Give Cesaro the IC title and then all of them will have something.

    ReplyDelete
  25. I was thinking that to. I Liked their interaction monday, could be a good power match

    ReplyDelete
  26. I wish they'd tease sexual tension between Steph and Seth. I don't think HHH would go for it I'm thinking.

If Cesaro gets used in any useful manner, I would be surprised. The guy is passed his shelf life of being made into a star of some kind. He's in Dolph Ziggler territory now. If they had ANY intention of making Cesaro a guy, they would have done it after the Andre battle royal when he was at his peak.

    ReplyDelete
  28. I will fucking throw something if Kane wrestles Brock.

    ReplyDelete
  29. I completely missed the point of a fictional lying psychopath?

    Damn.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Cesaro/Brock would be awesome. The announcers love talking about how freaky strong Cesaro is, so put him in there to go toe-to-toe with Lesnar. You know he's going to have to job, but if he gets in a good showing, it could open some eyes.

    Not Vince's, mind you...

    ReplyDelete
  31. If someone else would have offered him more money, that gimmick wouldn't have been nearly as interesting. Dude went for the bigger check. Nothing wrong with that.

    ReplyDelete
  32. They could call them "Team Jobbing In Handicap Matches To Main Eventers".

    ReplyDelete
  33. I would mark the Hell out if Claudio Castignoli came back to ROH.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Sheamus retires Daniel Bryan; gets MitB push.

What sort of reward is in store for Samoa Joe?

    ReplyDelete
  35. Where did the Brass Ring Club moniker come from?

I preferred when they had Adam Rose with them and they were called CATs

    ReplyDelete
  36. It was after the Austin podcast with Vince when he made the brass ring comment. Kidd/Cesaro/Rose had shirts made that looked like bullet club knock offs that said brass ring club.

    ReplyDelete
  37. In some alternate universe, Cesaro is WWE champion and is entering the ring to the Real Americans music. While the crowd sings along. And it's awesome.

    ReplyDelete
  38. How bout we take a poll, turn it sideways and .....

    ReplyDelete
  39. I don't think they were actually referred to as that on TV once.

    ReplyDelete
  40. HEEEEEEEEEEEEEEYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  41. They should have done with Cesaro what they're currently doing with Kevin Owens.

Cesaro plays a great foil for Cena.

Cesaro vs Rusev. Or team them as unbeatable supermen

    ReplyDelete
  43. If Austin actually went to Vince and said, "hey, I will indeed make my big comeback but I want to face Cesaro and I want total creative control over how he and I are booked until the day after WM32," would Vince go for it? Presumably Vince would love to have Austin back in the ring at any cost, but would he want it against a guy Vince openly doesn't see any potential in?

Then again, Austin would likely be worried that even if Vince gave in to those demands, Cesaro would be buried following WM32 just out of "nobody is bigger than WWE!" spite and his whole attempt to put the guy over would be for naught.

    ReplyDelete
  44. It seemed like Cesaro vs. Brock was in the cards last year when Heyman started managing him, yet oh well.

    ReplyDelete
  45. My guess is no way in hell would Vince go for it, and that's the problem.

Your second paragraph is spot-on. We know Vince is so much of a fucking control freak that he can't tolerate sneezing, so I can only imagine how he feels about supporting ideas that directly conflict with his own.

    ReplyDelete
  46. Joe never worked out with HHH, so he gets the Chris Hero treatment.

    ReplyDelete
  47. All of these scenarios (save releasing him) will just spin Cesaro's wheels in place or will never be tried due to politics. He needs to regain some momentum, and there's only one place he's going to be able to do that.

I would put the NXT title on Cesaro - yes, I'm serious. Owens is at the point where NXT is holding him back and having him drop the title to an established midcarder via Cena distraction would be both unexpected and least damaging to Owens' main roster future. There's a dearth of main roster-ready heels in NXT and letting Cesaro run as the champ down there for a while would set up a ton of intriguing matchups (Joe and Balor just for starters) and give Cesaro a chance to build himself back up again while still being a believable role for him.

It's pro wrestling, shit happens. It sucks, but those are the risks.

  63. Crazy idea -- have Cesaro feud with Joe?

Or, even crazier, have him team with him, with an eventual breakup when Cesaro realizes that Joe injured Kidd "on purpose"? (Or Kidd comes back, gets all pissed at Cesaro for teaming with the guy who injured him. Cesaro turns on Kidd, and Kidd finds a new partner? Or Cesaro rejoins Kidd, and Joe finds a new partner for a feud)

I'm barely trying here. It isn't rocket surgery.

    Sorry, but....

Watch TV. Tell me where Cesaro is? He's the opening match on Superstars.

    ReplyDelete
  70. I'd love an actual Luke Harper singles push. I actually think he has more big star potential than Cesaro.

    ReplyDelete
  71. It was always going to be an uphill battle for him because he isn't a good talker. That gives you a big handicap in a company that can't figure out in-ring booking half the time. Rollins has only become the success he has because he's worked incredibly hard to improve on the mic since the heel turn.

    ReplyDelete
  72. I like DiBiase. He was a great heel and the Million Dollar Man gimmick was a real winner. But I gotta admit, I find his ring work to be sorta boring. It's difficult to pinpoint why. There's certainly nothing wrong with it from a technical point of view. But it always seemed very methodical. Lacked a certain intensity.
Maybe his Mid-South stuff was more exciting or something; I don't know. I never got the chance to see any of his matches outside of the WWF.
