BoD Daily Update

Top Matches for WrestleMania 32 Already Planned?

It has been reported that Vince McMahon has already thought up the top six matches for WrestleMania 32. Details of those six matches are scarce but it had been reported that Sting vs. Undertaker was not one of those matches as Vince is negative on the match for some reason and that Daniel Bryan is not included either. Despite no knowledge of his opponent it has reported that the match planned for Cena is "almost a lock" to happen. Also, a HHH & Stephanie vs. Rock & Ronda Rousey match is planned but Dana White has to okay Rousey appearing on the show.

TNA Morale At An All-Time Low?

It was reported that the morale at TNA's TV tapings this past week were at an all-time low. Talent was upset over being kept in the dark about Jeff Jarrett's return and the production staff were upset over learning that after working a PPV and TV tapings in back-to-back days that they will not be paid for the previous set of TV tapings until 7/15 at the earliest. It was also reported that the company was more focused on trying to find out which member of the production staff talked to Brian Fritz from the "Sporting News" about being behind on pay than anything else.

OK, actually doing Rock/Rousey vs. HHH/Steph is smart, the best choice for a nostalgia match with a new twist on it. As long as Dana oks it, that match can carry the show pretty damn far on its own.
Vince probably doesn't want to do UT/Sting due to how fast both guys started sucking wind during their matches at this year's show (though they both did better than I personally figured they would), but if he nixed that "dream match" scenario for anything else than doing UT/Cena, the show will fail to hit the mark big time. Austin ain't wrestling, HBK ain't wrestling, & Hogan CAN'T wrestle no matter WHAT he says, so you've got 2 dream matches left after the tag match. One of them needs to happen.

    ReplyDelete
  5. I am still sticking with my there is no way Dana OKs Rousey wrestling at mania.

    ReplyDelete
  6. Josh Bredl is said to be Vince McMahon’s favorite in Tough Enough, even if viewers haven’t really caught onto him. Bredl was in the bottom three the first week along with ZZ and Avery.

    ReplyDelete
  7. I'd like to LOLTNA, but this is just getting sad at this point. I hate hearing about late pay.

    ReplyDelete
  8. Are the TNA wrestlers going to just be wrestlers or TNA wrestlers on GFW tv tapings because if this is all part of invasion stuff TNA could be out of business before the GFW shows air....(obviously IF they ever air is a big question too but still)

    ReplyDelete
  9. Regarding WM32: at least Vince is planning things out instead of figuring out what to do a week or two before the show.

    ReplyDelete
  10. Agreed. This stuff SHOULD be figured out well ahead of time and built to properly.

    ReplyDelete
  11. Theberzerker, #1 HUSS CHOMPIONJuly 2, 2015 at 7:15 AM

Let me guess...he's the biggest guy?

    ReplyDelete
  12. Which is what he should be doing...IF...and it's a big if.

He manages to A. actually stick to that plan. and B. has a solid half a year plan to actually get us there and he sticks to that as well. (Minus some on the fly stuff for injuries, etc.)

    ReplyDelete
  13. Theberzerker, #1 HUSS CHOMPIONJuly 2, 2015 at 7:16 AM

Nvm, I just checked...yup he's the biggest guy there. Oh Vince.

    ReplyDelete
  14. Also Taker Sting is not happening because Vince doesn't want to take the time and effort to "take the Sting character from obscurity and build it into a Wrestlemania headliner" again

    ReplyDelete
  15. Theberzerker, #1 HUSS CHOMPIONJuly 2, 2015 at 7:17 AM

Think of all the buys they lost this year with so many people thinking it was going to be a musical performance featuring HHH!

    ReplyDelete
  16. No Impact or NxT Review today ?

    ReplyDelete
  17. No wrestling. An armbar, maybe. But what'll be weird to me is the build up and advertising for the match. Which...being there is fine, but is she actually going to be on the card? Or the posters? Signing autographs at Axxess?

    ReplyDelete
  18. The mixed tag doesn't appeal to me. HHH w/Steph vs Rock w/ fighter lady is personally more appealing

    ReplyDelete
  19. Rousey in Rock's corner just makes the most sense. If Rock wins, she gets one minute with Steph... then you can do the armbar and don't have to have Steph actually get offense in, which would look silly.

    ReplyDelete
  20. "Sting vs. Undertaker was not one of those matches as Vince is negative on the match for some reason"

Umm...maybe because they have a combined age of 246?

    ReplyDelete
  21. If Reigns isn't champion by WM32 his entire push was for nothing right?

    ReplyDelete
  22. Rousey sobbing in the corner while Steph berates her wouldn't be physical contact either. They could do that!

    ReplyDelete
  23. yes and I can see that happening...its basically a rehash but bigger version of this year..that isn't what people are suggesting though.

    ReplyDelete
  24. With the Japan show on Saturday morning, I'm most interested to see how the crowd reacts to Dolph Ziggler. If he hasn't re-signed, this would be his best option.

    ReplyDelete
  25. I don't think Vince can afford to pay the Rock to wrestle any more. He's not getting back in the ring at the risk of losing a movie role. Besides which, Rousey won't be allowed to wrestle, absolutely no way.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Fighter lady? Rock and Ronda are the two biggest stars in that match.

    ReplyDelete
  27. I hope laugh if Steph pinned Ronda with a Pedigree.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Kevin Owens vs Seth Rollins
    Roman Reigns vs John Cena
    Brock Lesnar vs Cesaro
    HHH vs Rock
    Dean Ambrose vs Finn Balor

    ReplyDelete
  29. Kevin Owens vs Sami Zayn at WM at any level on the card would be an amazing payoff for their feud

    ReplyDelete
  30. I'm ignorant, what can I say.

    ReplyDelete
  31. I have zero interest to see any of them in a WM match. I look at it more as why should outsiders & office workers come in and get a huge payoff while you have dozens of guys who put in the daily grind get to watch the show on a monitor backstage?

    ReplyDelete

  33. Also did Scott stopped doing his NXT review on the other site ?

    ReplyDelete

    ReplyDelete
  38. WAY too early to plan WM32. You can get ideas by now, but nothing should be set yet.

Bobby Roode is enjoying free agency.

TNA offers Alpo. GFW offers Purina.

The Undertaker vs. Sting is beyond useful at this point. When the Streak was alive, maybe. I really would like for fans to just move on from this as a must-see match.

I would get some popcorn and a helmet and die from laughter in the Daily Thread.

Rorschach might end up buying a sniper rifle in that scenario.

    ReplyDelete
  48. That makes total sense. The one time I (we) went there, there were loads of posts gushing about how awesome it was that Bob Ryder had showed up recently. Seemed strange at the time.

    ReplyDelete
  49. Even with the streak ended, I would have liked the Icon vs Icon match last year.

    ReplyDelete
  50. I wish Sting would have swallowed his pride & just came aboard back in 2002. Deal with the politics but give us the fresh matchups to really look forward to. But at this point, a couple 50 somethings lumbering around the ring on the biggest event of the year? No thank you.

I think when the doors finally close, there will be a sigh of relief that they don't have to commit to this gig anymore.

    ReplyDelete
  60. How about shaking down the talent for money?

    ReplyDelete
  61. Next step is for TNA to actually borrow money from the wrestlers and not pay them back

    STOP MAKING FUN OF US!

    Sincerely,

    Dixie Carter.

    ReplyDelete
  66. I want to see the match. Or at the least, I'd like to see them both wrestle at the event. Even in 2015.

I don't know if that says more about the current state of wrestling or about how good it was in the late 90's. But I'd take the two old guys and shitty workrate over Seth Rollins or Dolph Ziggler. Their entrances alone would be more entertaining.

    ReplyDelete
  67. Set up new account in different name. Accidentally signed her own name. Oh Dixie, you've done it again!

    ReplyDelete
  68. TNA, GFW - Vince should rent an hour of Network time to these companies, see how many of the roughly half million viewers they bring with them, and see if he can benefit.

    ReplyDelete
  69. I know, you never bet against the McMahons, but there is literally zero chance Ronda eats a pin.

    ReplyDelete
  70. "Despite no knowledge of his opponent it has reported that the match planned for Cena is "almost a lock" to happen."

John Cena is planned to have a WrestleMania match? Get the fuck out of here.

    ReplyDelete
  71. Maybe be subtle though. Don't just go from 5k to 70k over night. I always notice when accounts have huge numbers of followers, but somehow nothing they write ever gets more than half a dozen favs or retweets.

    ReplyDelete
  75. Austin vs Cena - Stunner on a pole match

    ReplyDelete
  76. Apparently they have his opponent picked out.

    ReplyDelete
  77. With the way the tapings are being done, TNA and GFW for the rest of 2015 will pretty much be in the bag before the summer ends.

    ReplyDelete
  78. And things were much less compressed back then.

    ReplyDelete
  79. The XWF did a house show in my area, and aired a infomercial hyping it several times. Well, at least they (presumably) got paid when Hulk vs. Hennig was on one of Hogan's discs.

    ReplyDelete
  80. I thought Sting vs HHH at 31 was tremendous fun despite Sting's limitations.

    ReplyDelete
  81. Too little too late. A year ago, it would've helped. On the verge of cancellation? Looks like the desperate grab it is.

    ReplyDelete
  82. So it's clearly Cena vs. Jarrett and Mania is going to revolve around a GFW invasion with Ronda and Rock part of team GFW AMIRITE?

    ReplyDelete
  83. Let me give you the TNA recap - matches were OK but nothing special...nothing we haven't seen...blah blah blah.

    ReplyDelete

John Cena vs The Ryback: Unification Match

    ReplyDelete
  87. Watched ROH last night. Think I found some wrestling I enjoyed.

    ReplyDelete
  88. Yeah. I mean. Sting v. HHH was a fun enough train wreck. Despite the somewhat illogical ending and nonsense build up. But I don't really want to see Taker OR Sting in another match.

    ReplyDelete
  89. Such a weird little promotion. It's total Sullivan 2000 era WCW, with Tony and Lawler on commentary. It comes across as far more of a continuation of WCW than TNA did.

    ReplyDelete
  90. ROH's booking will put you to sleep.

    ReplyDelete
  91. It's got to be Cena/Taker right? Alright it's lost a whole lot of what could have made it special with Taker losing but they can still put something together that interests us right.

I'd also think the Tag Match makes sense in every possible way as the pay off for the Authority angle that should have been paid off two years ago is surely Stephanie tapping?

Outside of that the Shield Triple Threat is losing it's appeal by the day and at this point an argument could be made that you'd make more money by putting them back together.

Brock against somebody. Bryan would be most logical but no way can they count on that at this point. Don't ask me who but if I was booking I'd throw money at Shawn.

Will Owens be ready for a big match by then? Or is a US Title feud (vs Sami perhaps) more likely?

    ReplyDelete
  92. I'm still guessing this is part of the huge mega invasion angle, and Roode is still stuck under contract to TNA.

    ReplyDelete
  93. Steph tapping. I've had my humor for the day.

    ReplyDelete
  94. All the fake account retweeting stuff...what ever. The thought that Bob Ryder having more twitter followers would help TNA in anyway...hilarious. TNA is better off having as few people as possible know they are associated with him.

    ReplyDelete
  95. "Let's do an invasion angle!"
"Okay, but we don't have any decent wrestlers"
"We'll just give you some of our wrestlers and *they* can invade!"
"Well I don't think that's how invasions work, but okay!"
    Aye carumba it's so dumb

    ReplyDelete
  96. Last year would've been the (last) year I was most intrigued by Sting/Taker.

    This year? Meh.

    ReplyDelete
  97. Most of Ryder's followers are fake, anyway.

    ReplyDelete
  98. How can you invade yourself?

    ReplyDelete
  105. Careful. Steph might come down and kick you off the board for saying that.

    ReplyDelete
  106. Vince would have to inject Dana White with sedatives and personally manipulate his hand to get him to sign off on Ronda wrestling.

    ReplyDelete
  107. TBH, I don't think many on the writing team can remember he was being pushed months ago.

    ReplyDelete
  108. Michael Cole's Greatest Moments on Commentary?

    ReplyDelete
  109. Of course he does. Why would you think otherwise?

    ReplyDelete
  110. This is the most likely outcome.

    ReplyDelete
  111. I did crack up at the part that said "Cena will have a match at wrestlemania." No shit? Really?

    ReplyDelete
  112. What's hilarious about the Steph/Ronda fantasy booking around here is that when the time comes, McMahons not only lay down clean, but they make the person beating them look like a million bucks and usually end up looking like a total goober themselves. Like, that's what McMahons do in the ring. That's their thing.

    ReplyDelete
  113. My sources told me Roman Reigns my also have a match a WM

    ReplyDelete
  114. No idea why people are missing that. It was written perfectly clearly.

    ReplyDelete

  166. Best PG-era feuds:

Jericho/HBK, CM Punk vs. Jeff Hardy, Jericho vs. Rey Mysterio, CM Punk vs. Rey Mysterio, Batista vs. Cena, CM Punk vs. John Cena, Brock Lesnar vs. John Cena, Brock Lesnar vs. CM Punk, Daniel Bryan vs. HHH, Shield vs. WWE. That's all I got right now.

  176. Miz-Mizdow if we ignore everything before Wrestlemania and use 2K15 as a proper blowoff.

HHH/Sting was so much fun. Aftermath aside, that's how nostalgia should be done.

  183. With Bryan's injury of course their is no plans for the guy, I want to know if Owens is in the mix for the "top 6" matches. Also the mixed tag is fine as long as it doesn't get the main event slot.

    ReplyDelete
  184. Hey! No fun in our wrestling dammit!

    ReplyDelete
  185. The Rock vs. Brock Lesnar. That's the main event. Just do it & collect money.

  186. Yea I really dug that match

  187. Floyd Mayweather is not under contract to anyone but himself. That's why it took so long for Mayweather/Pacquiao to happen. There is no central governing body that handles the contractual details for boxers.

The way UFC contracts work is pretty common knowledge and is in no way similar to boxing. Educate yourself.

  194. I think my favorite part of the TNA story in the Observer is that Jarrett wasn't on the format. If WWE has a surprise they just leave a hole in the show. But TNA had a full 2 hour format, then all of a sudden JJ came out.

"So the production people, the wrestlers, the announcers, and almost everyone had a two hour format when suddenly Jeff & Karen Jarrett came out. Jeff was wearing a Global Force Wrestling T-shirt and he cut a promo that was a mixture of reality and storyline. Because of that, some of the later matches were cut short and the show had to be edited to fit into the two hour format which had almost no time to be done. The representative from Destination America at the tapings was asking how come there was a segment that wasn't on the format and why was someone promoting a wrestling company that isn't on their station."

  195. I got a laugh out of that
