BoD Daily Update

Update on Potential WWE/WWN Relationship

It has been reported that the WWE is indeed getting serious about making a deal with WWN. The word is that the WWE is looking to make a low six-figure investment in WWN to help them run more shows and sign more talents. The WWE would presumably have access to the talent they want without worrying about them already appearing on National TV or having signed away their licensing.

Dolph Ziggler Contract Update

Ziggler was reported to have received a new contract offer a few weeks ago but did not sign, opening up a lot of speculation. The belief is he will still re-sign.

WWE High on Independent Talent

It has been reported that the WWE is very high on Rich Swann and will likely offer him a Developmental Deal in September. It was also reported that the WWE is expected to offer more Developmental Deals after SummerSlam as they want more talent to report to NXT in the Fall.

This conference call is hilarious. It's devolved into managers calling out employees BY NAME (who are not on the call) for abuse of leave and potential firings.

    This is a good day.

  50. Stranger In The AlpsJuly 3, 2015 at 8:35 AM

July 4 is on a Saturday, so July 3rd was declared a skeleton crew day and offices across the state need to keep a minimum of staff instead of full staff. Well people who asked for time off and didn't get it are calling in "sick" and production is screwed today.

    ReplyDelete
  51. Nah, coke was super expensive in the 80s, hence it's status as the "rich people drug." Crack reaaaaaaallly cheapened its value, which is why it stopped being so glamorous in the 90s and folks moved onto to other stuff.

They might as well have closed the offices instead.

    ReplyDelete
  53. Stranger In The AlpsJuly 3, 2015 at 8:37 AM

And now the call lead is trying to throw out positivity tropes like "we have a long road to haul today but working as a team we can get it done" and "we're on the right track with this communication".

Just three minutes before managers were bitching about their staff.

  58. Stranger In The AlpsJuly 3, 2015 at 8:51 AM

Yes, and I don't really know. Now that I'm considered part of management, I can see how employees might abuse their leave.

Meh. I just do reports and monitor phone calls. makes my job easier if nobody is here.

    ReplyDelete
  59. So are you the guy checking to see which of the employees is commenting on blogs during company time?

    ReplyDelete
  62. Someone was asking if WWE was selling the Suplex City: Japan shirt yet. They are selling it, and it's on sale for $17.76.

    ReplyDelete
  63. Yeah, keep in mind that Shane returning is more interesting in theory than it is in practice. Everyone was excited for Shane's return in early 2009 to feud with Orton....only to have Orton's killer push derailed by having a 50-50 rivalry with the boss' son.

    ReplyDelete
  64. Ugh, holidays. 69. Joey Jo-Jo Junior ShabbadooJuly 3, 2015 at 9:18 AM

So for all the talk about low numbers, WWE still drew about three times as many viewers as all their competition combined (as I'm assuming LU didn't fare much better). So there's that, I guess.

    ReplyDelete
  71. Spending part of thr holiday weekend in Atlantic City and apparently half of NJ had the same idea. It kinda sucks when people are here

    ReplyDelete
  72. Not really. They just want to secure the feeder lines to their developmental department and main roster so as to prevent other uninvolved entities from profiting off of the work the WWE does with individual talents. Indy talents can still make money, roughly, however they want. This is merely to prevent future instances of coincidence that led to Kevin Owens becoming a major main roster star at a time when a toy company was producing a Kevin Steen figure.

  134. I'm mentioned on her before that I have a kinda black market off license I use, that runs itself almost like a drug dealer.

Today's visit was insane, it's about 20 minutes away from my apartment, so normally I go in, they give me an idea of any new stock, I give me order in and they deliver it later that night, in unmarked bags by a guy riding a bicycle.

Not today, today after I order 3 cases of bottles, not the 4 packs you get from the supermarket, but full on cases that are delivered to pubs, they give the three cases to a helper and tell him to carry them and follow me home to deliver them.

On route he told me his story, he ran up a tab with them and to help pay it off, he works fetching and carrying for them, in return his debt goes down slightly, they give him free food and if he does a good job they'll give him some presents like more booze or cigs.

  152. I would like to see him leave. I get that there is security there, and if I were in his shoes, I don't know that I would leave either. But other guys have shown you can make a good living and do more of the side stuff when you get away from WWE.

  153. Pleased to read Ricochet made an appearance in New Japan this week.

  154. Vince as had a monopoly on wrestling for years, but this type of stuff is grounds for a lawsuit. Sadly, Jesse Ventura got paid and lives in Mexico, so there is no defender for these indies.

  155. But the guardian told Captian Kirk he was both machine and being and a time machine. He can't send himself back.

I would like to see how he does elsewhere. I only ever saw him as an upper car talent anyway, so Im not really the guy who thinks he should have been way more

  158. Future wife just told me she spent $500 on paper bags and trinket gifts for the wedding party... could have killed her.

  160. Why couldnt Doc land the DeLorean at the end of Back to the Future Part II?

    Cause of the weather?

Never really got what was so hard about landing the Delorean. Slowly lower the car to the ground and switch it off from flying
    mode.

Is Zayn close to returning? If so, I could see them having Owens retain in Tokyo to build the Zayn title win for the Barclays special

He isn't coming back until October at the earliest.

  164. Currently watching Bash 89. I like in the NWA days how the wrestlers would stay on the ramp for that little bit sn then walk to the ring with the smoke on the entrance ramp.

And now I get to watch Sid destroy Shane Douglas and Johnny Ace!

  166. We had a talk just before she got her paycheck about how to divide that up... $500 into savings, $500 for household regulars and spending, and $500 into the wedding fund.

She interpreted that as... do whatever and don't keep track.

  170. Even in 89 the fans went insane over Sid. Im guilty of it myself but I'm not exactly sure what makes people go batshit over him.

  171. Swann is naturally charismatic

    ReplyDelete
  172. Sid had an aura about him. Plus, he looked like the most intense guy on the planet

    ReplyDelete
  173. He was special, especially in the more realistic Crockett Promotions.

    ReplyDelete
  174. people mock the idea of the IT factor, but there s a reason why Sid, Hogan, Taker, etc got over so huge in the beginning of their careers when guys with similar build and skillsets simply didn't connect anywhere near as well.

I'm at a disadvantage in fantasy baseball this week because apparently I missed the memo that stated that I could stock my pitching staff with nothing but starters.

  177. Sid is why jobbers exist. Beat the hell out of a few jabronies, look menacing and deadly, and make money when the real names get put on the other side of the ring.

I could run the gauntlet in offense but I don't have any base stealers.

    ReplyDelete
  182. I have power and good starting pitching.

    ReplyDelete
  183. Sid was booked perfectly when a heel. Why Vince saw him as a new Hogan I can't say.

  184. Stranger In The AlpsJuly 3, 2015 at 11:28 AM

I have a more balanced attack, except when my pitching gets bombed. Which is often. That's why I traded for Bumgarner.
