I always thought you had a rather healthy respect for Cena over the years but I recently watched Taboo Tuesday 2005 and thought the main event of Cena vs. Michaels vs. Angle was one of the best triple threat matches I've seen in a while, so I checked out your review and was surprised to see you gave it only ***, and was even more surprised to see this: "They team up and send Cena into the post to get rid of him, and then team up to put him through the Spanish announce table for good measure. So it’s time to get down to the business of having an awesome match without him. Nice of you to show up, John, enjoy the match from ringside", and this "Cena was WAY out of his league here, like Lyle Lovett and Julia Roberts getting married type of out of his league."
So at what point Scott do you think you became aware that Cena could hold up his end in the ring?
Easy answer: Wrestlemania whatever it was where Cena defended against Shawn Michaels, and then the RAW where they did the one-hour match and Cena was barely sweating at the end. Those were two major match situations where he needed to deliver, and he did. Plus he hung with Shawn Michaels, and that ain’t not for nothing.
