Sad stuff.  At this point you can’t really say it’ll be career-ending or what, but I wouldn’t be surprised.  And I bet he doesn’t have much for medical insurance.  You really hate to see promising young guys go down to silly freak accidents like that, so hopefully he can pull through this and come back someday.
