Kyle's News: Brock Lesnar Returning at Wrestlemania 28?

Brock Lesnar is in negotiations with WWE to appear at Sunday'sWrestleMania XXVIII pay-per-view event at Sun Life Stadium in Miami, Florida. The odds of the three-time WWE Champion appearing at show are 'more than 50/50.'

I'm all for Lesnar coming back to the WWE. The WWE has lacked a dominant big man since Umaga that could put on great matches as well. At his peak, Lesnar was one of the best big mans in wrestling. He understood how to work as a big man, stay in character during his match, tell a story, and still put on an entertaining match....which is all very rare for a big man, especially in this era of wrestling.

It will be interesting to see what he'll do at Wrestlemania if he shows up. I've heard rumors of Rock vs. Brock Lesnar at Wrestlemania 29, so it's possible that he screws Rock out of his match against John Cena.  I also wonder if Vince McMahon has the grapefruits for Lesnar to do a "I'm better than everyone here because I was UFC champion" gimmick. That would get serious heat.

Thoughts?

  1. I actually think Lesnar could cost CENA the match... it would make a lot more sense to build towards Cena/Lesnar than Rock/Lesnar.

Though I actually think he could get involved post match with the Undertaker.. its possible. All very interesting at this point.

  2. It makes more sense to have Brock cost Taker his streak after that youtube footage of Taker staring down Brock after he lost a UFC match.  They can then build up Brock vs. Taker Wrestlemania 29.  I don't see Brock commiting long term to WWE, though.

  3. I'd agree with you if it wasn't Wrestlemania. Breaking the streak to set up Lesnar-Taker at another Wrestlemania is a bad idea. If the streak ends, so will 'Taker's career. Undertaker on a Wrestlemania card without someone having the chance of breaking the the streak would be.... weird. Plus, that means Triple H will be the first wrestler to break the streak, and even though I like Triple H, he's the last person who should break it. It has to be someone that would be elevated because of it. Triple H's career is virtually over.

  4. I wouldn't be surprised if they went for it, but I have absolutely no interest in Brock/Rock?  We've seen it before and it's not like either guy has changed styles since that last encounter (since it's been years since either guy has been an active competitor).  Is it supposed to be more alluring because they're both more famous? If Brock comes back, he should be wrestling either Cena or Punk. Or, Hell, I'll even say Triple H might be interesting since it never happened 1 on 1 and it could be done as the new head of the company versus the guy who disrespected the business. I suppose if he comes back regularly he'll face a number of guys (Sheamus, Bryan, and Ziggler) would all be good, but maybe they should hold back and treat him like a special attraction/big event.  There are so few guys with a true aura anymore.  .

Dammit, sometimes I wish I didn't follow wrestling on the Internet, it would be nice to be surprised once in a while.

  6. Gotta agree with those that would prefer Cena/Brock.

  7. They'll have Brock come out and destroy both men. Both of these guys are out there pretending they're the greatest, yet here's the guy who beat both of them.
