GI Joe pushed back to March 2013 - Good news for WM?

Call this one a win for the WWE since now they can just hop onboard Paramount's advertising bandwagon to further push the Rock's WM appearance.

Just over a month before its original premiere date of June 29, Paramount Pictures has pushed G.I. Joe: Retaliation to March 29, 2013, in order to convert the film into 3-D.

Yeah, although generally when a movie has trailers all over for a summer release and then suddenly gets pushed back to the next year, there's more than a 3D conversion going on.  It's not like it would be difficult to top the quality of the first one, so this doesn't bode well for the film.  That being said, definitely great timing to have Rock in the main event of Wrestlemania again.  Maybe John Cena can play The Marine and they can have a HOLLYWOOD SHOWDOWN where they do battle in character.  They'll make MILLIONS!

  1. John Cena gets his face erased by Brock Lesner, as Brock Lesner suddenly becomes insanely vain and stealing people's faces in order to preserve his youth. We then get John Cena with a blank, featureless face running around, looking for pity from fans and him teaming up with Rock to fight Brock Lesner (who constantly has to steal new faces to stay young). In the end, Zack Ryder messes with the machine and the PPV ends with Brock Lesner screaming in horror as his own face has been permanently erased as a result of Zack's tampering. PPV ends with everyone laughing and next week, we have Cena back with his face restored via emergency plastic surgery to carve up his blank canvas of a face to recreate his old one. Surgery paid for by the Rock.

Meanwhile CM Punk will go back to just having the porn stache and help Bryan Daniels summon Cthulhu so he can destroy Cthulhu while AJ wears a blonde whig and tricks Bryan (wearing a silver realistic plastic mask over his head) into telling her how he comes from a long line of wizards who hate everything good and then burn down his ancestrial home when she finally loses her marbles after Bryan refers to AJ as "crazy lady that the internet has mistakenly referred to as one of his exs".However, AJ's craziness will turn Bryan on and he'll take her back at long last.

Meanwhile, we find out that Jack Swagger is Christian's long lost half-brother and we get him forcing Swagger to go on a suicide mission with Sgt Slaughter before Christian gets stabbed in the chest by the Miz, who we learn is a clone of all of the greatest douchebags in history. We also learn that the Randy Orton is a snake person and that he's been paying Bob Orton to pretend he is his son so he can covertly try and take over the WWE. Miz turns him into a snake and sends him out into the artic, where he will guide a blind Teddy Long back to civilization while screaming "I was once a man!" every five minutes.

Eve meanwhile will get mind control devices and capture HHH and Santino and with Vicki Guerrero, force each men to fight the other for their amusements via the video game remote controls to the mind control devices.

Meanwhile, Beth Phoenix falls for Wade Barrett, just as Barrett is turned into Aquaman and has to spendest of his life in the ocean. Following this, Beth will be tricked into thinking seven years have passed and is living in Springfield, as Chris Jericho tries to get her to admit that she's seen Punk doing non-straight edge things.

And John Laurenitis will find Excalibur and will feud with Big Show over the sword.

(Bonus points if you guys can guess which GI Joe episodes I'm referring to with the above)

  2. The scenario  described would be better than the build we got this year.

  3. So, who is Rock fighting at Wrestlemania? Brock or Cena again? Or if Austin comes back and fights one more match, will they go at it for 'one last time', exactly a decade after their previous encounter (That scenario would only happen if Rock came back and already won the WWE Title before then, which I really don't think is happening anymore.)

It all seems to point towards Brock, but I personally think they will go with Brock-Undertaker and save Cena-Undertaker for WM30. Rock-Cena may end up happening again. Cena will have the belt back by then, and so Rock comes back and says since Cena has the belt, he'll just have to beat Cena again to get it. Only this time Cena is the one who gets the win, this making it the exact opposite of what happened this year, where Cena talked about Rock leaving for Hollywood and how he was gonna beat the Rock and prove himself better, but then he lost and got brought back down to earth. Now perhaps Rock is the one who gets humbled by saying he's gonna win the WWE Title, only to lose himself and get brought back down to earth. And in the process, Cena gest his win over The Rock.

Not saying that's what I HOPE will happen, just what I think will or could.

  4. They should do Rock/Cena 2 at WM 29, with Cena winning. Then finish the trilogy at WM 30.

Rock/Cena in terms of a draw is a different level than every other possibility.

  5. I'd rather they do Punk/Rock, since Punk can win that match and you can have Punk crowing about that when he inevitably turns heel again in terms of the idea that Punk is better than Cena because he could beat the Rock.

  6. Wouldn't Rock be all busy with promotional work for the movie, though?  And seriously, if ever there was a reason to call Rock out on coming back only when he has something pimp, this would be it.

  7. A certain someone has a tattoo that says he's a natural to battle The Rock at WM near the release of GI Joe 2.

  8. Before or after he's given a jolt from the old Brain Wave Scanner device?

  9. Will be here all evening with the GI Joe references....

  10. He'd only have to work Mondays and that one big Sunday and he'd be doing double-duty promotion with both WM and Joe, so that's extra eyeballs for both of his projects. Win-win for the Rock.

  11. The movie actually didn't look too bad considering that they were basically hitting the reset button, jettisoning the first cast aside from the returning baddies and bringing in two A-list stars as the leads. This is quite a move for Paramount; that's pretty unheard of to move a big summer tentpole out of a plum summer spot and shift it into the spring, esp. with less than a month before the release. Even Universal stuck to their guns with "Battleship" even though all signs pointed it to it doing a tank job, which it did.

  12. Perhaps while he is waiting for the Viper to come and vipe his vindows.

  13.  tank job in north america but looks pretty close to getting their budget back overseas already before it reached north america.  I think the bad publicity of being based on the board game didnt help. take it for what it is... mindless action movie with good effects.
on the G I Joe push back, really disapppointed, dont care for 3D, wanna see it now.
