TNA Impact Live Thread

It's Championship Night and the continuation of Aces & Eights continues

Comments

  1. Samoa Joe vs. Magnus for the TV title or fuck you, Hogan.

    ReplyDelete
  2. Hogan is truly doing a good job in this role. I liked that they didn't spin Devon's departure, plus tonight, tourney! Love them.

    ReplyDelete
  3. Don't know if anyone here is able to, but I will be on vacation next week, thus unable to start the live thread. If someone could do that, it would be great.

    ReplyDelete
  4. Storm vs. Roode in a street fight works for me.

    ReplyDelete
  5. Side note: What does everyone think of the rumor that Bruce Pritchard is slowly killing off the Knockouts Division?

    ReplyDelete
  6.  My guess is Joe wins in and Magnus attacks him after the match, setting up a bout at Bound for Glory. Or vice versa.

    ReplyDelete
  7. Eh, I disagree. Unless his job unintentional comedy. Then I think he is doing an excellent job.

    ReplyDelete
  8. Still impressed by the time management TNA employs. They covered 3 or 4 major topics at the top of the show in about 8 minutes.

    ReplyDelete
  9. Didn't know about that but Vicki's & Eddie Guerrero's daughter, ring name Raquel Dia, has asked for her release from developmental.

    ReplyDelete
  10. haha I love American adverts... Delivering a message of either:
    a) Nice food
    b) Something you should be worrying about...

    ReplyDelete
  11. Isn't there a prominent angle getting weekly time?

    ReplyDelete
  12.  I'll do my best to try to remember.

    ReplyDelete
  13. Disregarding potential acting ability, am I the only one who thinks Christy Hemme would make a kick ass Harley Quinn?

    ReplyDelete
  14. Lol, he's not perfect for sure, but as far as GM's go and how tired that role is, it's acceptable. More importantly, he's putting over the talent consistently compared to say AJ on the biggest wrestling show in the world.

    ReplyDelete
  15. Any other Time Warner users being told DVR recording is not allowed for this show? How weird. I hope that isn't a regular thing, because it'll put a serious cramp in my TNA viewership.

    ReplyDelete
  16. Out her in the tight red spandex and I'm not complaining. Love red heads.

    ReplyDelete
  17.  Always found it dumb (and still do) that they don't capitalise on the surnames.. See Michael McGuillicuty.

Wouldn't be at all surprised to see TNA pick her up and call her by her real name, alongside Chavo, perhaps.

    ReplyDelete
  18. I read over at 411mania that he's being blamed for the releases of Winter, Velvet and Angelina and the limited amount of time the remaining KOs are getting.

    ReplyDelete
  19. My main issue with him is when he is involved with Aces n Eights. He sounds soooo cheesy compared to serious violent dudes in masks.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Eh, at the end of the day, men's in ring action will always be more interesting so for me, whatever.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Fair enough. I could do without his snorting.

    ReplyDelete
  22. But it's usually TNA's highest rated segment.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Well, she was but not anymore. Seems like both TNA and WWE are having trouble keeping women.

    ReplyDelete
  24. I said I would.aries and joe in aces n 8s

    Aries champ
    joe tv champ

    Give croup credibillity

    ReplyDelete
  25. Dress her like the Wend'y girl for all I care..she a cute chick.

    ReplyDelete
  26. I'd be curious if that's still the case because everything else has gotten much better than when Russo was around.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Is this going to take Hogan and Sting 2 hours to walk across the parking lot to Aces and Eights clubhouse?

    ReplyDelete
  28. These backstage segments actually seem written with the intention of getting the talent over. Not sure what to make of that.

    ReplyDelete
  29.  I wanna know where they would hide a biker's clubhouse in CityWalk anyway. Even if it was outside Universal they'd be right in the middle of Metro West and that's way too tony a neighborhood for a biker gang.

    ReplyDelete
  30. "I'm vibrating..."

*mind goes to the wrong places..*

    ReplyDelete
  31. Aces and Eights = The Blue Man Group.

    ReplyDelete
  32. I'm sure I'm in a very small minority, but ODB still does it for me.

    ReplyDelete
  33. It's alwaysmweird when a cute chick like Tiffany has no ass whatsoever.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Don't you mean the right places?

    ReplyDelete
  35. That was the best sell job of a small package ever.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Yeah. She definitely doesn't fill out her shorts as well as Tessmacher.

    ReplyDelete
  37. If I was TNA, I would definitely sign Markopoulos to a developmental deal. Lots of potential and onli eighteen.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Sure took her long enough to realize that she doesn't have a future in this business...

    ReplyDelete
  39.  "Don't shoot me. But if you do, shoot my calves."

Bully Ray is absolutely killing in his role.

    ReplyDelete
  40. Bully's phenomenal right now. Best natural heel in wrestling. I want him to get a TNA world title reign out of it. Not because the booking makes any sense, but just because he deserves it. He's that good.

    ReplyDelete
  41. I'm partial to Naomi, but point taken. Either would qualify for the few.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Follow up from last week where they had a hundred judge Dredd commercials, saw it last night and it was awesome. Kinda of a mix between Robocop and the awesome The Raid.

    ReplyDelete
  43. Still need to see it, but it's disappointing that it completely bombed at the box office. I'm operating under the assumption that it kicks ass, and it's unfortunate that wasn't rewarded.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Roode's not afraid to admit he lost twice to Aries. Take notes Cena.

    ReplyDelete
  45. im catching up with my dvr but im only 20 minutes behind, anyway i just had to say something:
I love Hogans role in the promotion for the most part but why the hell does he always have people talk about why they deserve something??

Just have them fight! Its the whole point! I wish someone had said to him, "why dont we all have a match for the tv title? "

    its annoying

    ReplyDelete
  46. Housesitting somewhere with cable and 1st time I've gotten to watch Impact on TV since I can remember! Have been wanting to see what all the hype is about. Last time I watched regularly was during the horrible Immortal Era.

Not a knock but Joe has gotten really fat and doesn't move like he used to. I guess everyone get old

    ReplyDelete
  47. Love how Joe covered up when Anderson was on top, instead of just letting him whale away. It's the little things that get it over as an actual athletic contest.

    ReplyDelete
  48. Joe and Anderson don't have good chemistry together..

    ReplyDelete
  49. Yep, that was awkward but I do like seeing joe holding a title.

    ReplyDelete
  50. He has the OLD TNA World Heavyweight title. Hmm..

    ReplyDelete
  51. Yea I don't get it, it's perfectly acceptable violent action.

    ReplyDelete
  52.  It'd be even funnier if A&8s' clubhouse was on Harry Potter Island. *voicebox* "Sit down Hulk. Have a Butterbeer."

    ReplyDelete
  53. Wonder if Will Ferrell is in that van?

    ReplyDelete
  54. Anderson...should just be a manager

    ReplyDelete
  55. As long as they told Matt Foley they were taking the van.

    ReplyDelete
  56. Don't worry, they'll leave it...DOWN BY THE RIVER!

    ReplyDelete
  57.  As mentioned above, I actually think it was more a case of them two not having much chemistry.

Joe's had a bit of a resurgence as of late and has been working hard.

Good move to stick the belt on him. Expect to see Magnus get a shot at BFG, somehow. Surprised it wasn't an after match attack, but, there's still time, I guess.

    ReplyDelete
  58. Take note Hulk. Getting jumped by rent-a-bikers is how you end up living...IN A VAN...DOWN BY THE RIVER!

    ReplyDelete
  59. Next scene: Sting and Hogan are in a pit with Aces and Eights standing above them mumbling," It rubs lotion on it's skin or else it gets the hose again..."

    ReplyDelete
  60. "Would you Power Bomb me? I'd Power Bomb me hard."

    ReplyDelete
  61. Legit question and please don't laugh me off the board if it's an obvious answer because I just started following TNA again and don't know: Are these gut check challenges real? I don't mean "real" real since obviously there's some prep for their matches and stuff. But did that kid know he was gonna get eliminated ahead of time?

    ReplyDelete
  62. Ok I'm having Pulp Fiction flashbacks here with Hulk n Sting

    ReplyDelete
  63. That's a good question. Mi always figured they were kayfabe.

    ReplyDelete
  64. Who is this jobber. He looks like a Ryback victim. Why are they wasting time on this, they have a "big" PPV coming up

    ReplyDelete
  65. Gimpin' ain't easy.

    ReplyDelete
  66. The speech patterns remind me of Bisch...shit.

    ReplyDelete
  67. Brotherhood? I know what brotherhood is, brother..

    ReplyDelete
  68. I just had the same thought. This is definitely Bischoff right now.

    ReplyDelete
  69.  As best most people can figure, its set up like a reality show where they don't tell the guy the result until they see it live to get the genuine reaction. Obviously they know whether they're gonna job in their match and know all their cues and their own lines, they just aren't necessarily sure of what happens.

    ReplyDelete
  70. Not sure Jarett has the gravitas to hide his southern accent.

    ReplyDelete
  71. I just thought that. Shouldn't he be tweeting some Anti-Obama rant in Montana r Wyoming or some obscure state?

    ReplyDelete
  72. Come on, nobody? Vinson? Cult? Flair? Sigh, "Well I guess you're gonna have to go wake him up now, won't you?"

    ReplyDelete
  73. Lol, sorry, I was temporarily distraught at the thought of Bischoff as the leader.

    ReplyDelete
  74. Sorry, the Dominoes guy showed up with my wings...

    ReplyDelete
  75. Not feeling this show tonight.

    ReplyDelete
  76. Dammit, I got a phone call I had to take as the Hogan-Sting bit happened. What was the jist of it?

    ReplyDelete
  77. Good call, they have good wings.

    ReplyDelete
  78. Bischoff's the leader. TNA is no longer cool.

    ReplyDelete
  79. It sure seemed like him.

    ReplyDelete
  80. Nothing happens to Park between now and BFG. Hogan picks 2 vs 2 from As and 8s at BFG.

    ReplyDelete
  81. Hopefully he's just doing the voiceover and is not the REAL leader....

    ....hopefully.

    ReplyDelete
  82. Ha ha, please no...it's not official.

    ReplyDelete
  83. "Calves & Abs." Funny.

    ReplyDelete
  84. Roode dusts off his old school robe. I love it.

    ReplyDelete
  85. I called it months back. It's Bischoff. Makes the most sense too, considering his beef with TNA and his love of big guys who ride bikes.

    ReplyDelete
  86. Was that Hardy trying to dance gamdam style?

    ReplyDelete
  87.  Damn, that would be depressing as all hell. Hopefully, as Jef said, it's just the voiceover.

    ReplyDelete
  88. Hardy looks like The Methcredible Hulk.

    ReplyDelete
  89. Anderson isnt a good worker at all.

    ReplyDelete
  90.  It sounded all Wisconsin-y to me, either Anderson or Aries. But I don't think any of that really matters, they cycle different people in & out every week to play the leader to throw everyone off the scent. I think it's been almost everyone in the main event at this point.

    ReplyDelete
  91. MArvel is still there. We need to have the Hulk Hogan/Incredible Hulk staredown so they can talk about back royalties.

    ReplyDelete
  92. They REALLY need a Joe vs. Bully Ray match.

    ReplyDelete
  93. Bully Ray channeling Stan Hansen...

    ReplyDelete
  94. Did TNA have Hardy with the BFG series just so they could show WWE how to properly book Punk-Cena, via Aries-Hardy?

    ReplyDelete
  95. That was awesome. Made Aries look like a killer destroying both guys like that.

    ReplyDelete
  96. Knives and blow torches seem like a bit much for a wrestling show.

    ReplyDelete
  97. Sting should've dropped "I'm coming and I'm bringing he'll with me!".

Never enough Tombstone quotes for me.

    ReplyDelete
  98. I'm your huckleberry.

    ReplyDelete
  99. Not able to watch live this week, but looking forward to checking it out later after how good last weeks show was!

    ReplyDelete
  100. it recorded for me

    ReplyDelete
  101. Honestly, this was not a good show. Also, what was up with the lighting? the Impact Zone looked darker than usual.

Anyway, Aces & Eights really needs a big payoff at BFG and who is going to fight against them at the PPV? Bully Ray? Joe?

    ReplyDelete
  102.  It was slightly above average imo.  The in ring action was not as good except for the main event.

I love that TNA rotates featuring talent weekly, but I missed having a promo by The World Tag Team Champions Of The World!

    ReplyDelete
  103.  I'm afraid the stress was more than he could bear.

    ReplyDelete
  104. Go ahead, skin it! Skin that smoke wagon, and see what happens.

    ReplyDelete
  105. Thankfully Hogan wasn't ass-raped here only to have Sting make the save with their sword.

Kinda corny segmant but ok. They need a badass to make this work.

    ReplyDelete
  106. Good show to build toward BFG. They can't all be blowaway great. Enjoyed most of the segments, especially the main event.

    ReplyDelete
  107. I fast forwarded more on this show than I have in awhile.  It is gonna suck if Bischoff is back on TV.  Somebody has to be monitoring the nets to see that NOBODY wants this.  Right??

    And your BFG card:

    Aries Vs Hardy - Official

    Tess Vs Tara - Official

Roode Vs Storm (Streetfight) - Official.

    TWTTCotW Vs Hernandez/Chavo Vs Angle/AJ - Official

A&8's Vs Sting and ?????? - I will assume that we'll finally get a reveal at least for the two members.  As for Sting's partner, I see two possibilities, Bully Ray or Abyss.  Sting asks Bully's help because he hates Aces and is the toughest guy in TNA.  This would either lead to Bully screwing Sting and joining A&8 or a face turn.  The other angle I could see is Sting not announcing his partner.  Aces comes out with Park all tied up and Sting says, my partner is ABYSS and Park hulks out.

Joe Vs Magnus (TV Title) - Probable

    Ion Vs Sorenson - Possible

    ReplyDelete
  108. Hogan being ass-raped would've made that the best segment in wrestling history.

    ReplyDelete
  109. What happened to the X Division? Are they phasing it out?

    ReplyDelete
  110. From the sounds of things, he HATES Romney even more than Obama.

    ReplyDelete
  111.  It's sort of on hold since they put the belt on Zema Ion while waiting for the guy who's neck he broke to recover and come back to beat him for it. Which is too bad because they'd brought in a bunch of new X Division guys to kick start the division again.

    ReplyDelete
  112.  They rotate wrestlers from week to week, I think you know this.  We had an X division title match last week.

    ReplyDelete
  113. I know but they barely feature it at all anymore, not to mention the lack of X-Division style wrestlers on the roster.

    ReplyDelete
  114.  The Danny Cannon/Stallone original poisoned the brand completely in the minds of the mainstream audience that don't read comics

    ReplyDelete
  115. This is why they need to get Xplosion on US television. There are enough wrestlers that are not showcased that they could use them on a second show.

    ReplyDelete
  116. Which makes no sense unless Sorenson will be ready to go at BFG.  Ion has already held the belt to long and sucks as champ and the ONLY payoff is Sorenson beating him.

    ReplyDelete
  117. I would have put the X-Division title on Hardy (not now, but eventually) and then had a slow build to Destination X and faced Aries there. There is a ton of people that he could defend against.

I believe a Hardy/Daniels title match would be big as well.

    ReplyDelete
  118. He would have no-sold it.

    ReplyDelete
  119. One of the TNA guys is going to be Sting?  Oh lord, who's going to turn on Sting the Giant Idiot this time?

    ReplyDelete
  120. Kenny King is clearly the best in the division and should be the champ.
