WWE.com Exclusive: Dr. Shelby gives an update on his son's well-being

Well now we can all rest easy.

Comments

  1. Wow, a father not liking his son. That's...hilarious?

    ReplyDelete
  2. He probably hates his wife too...then again, his wife is Claire Lynch.

  3. I really hope they keep Dr. Shelby around.

  4. You're missing the bigger issue...
    WHERE THE HELL IS HAROLD?!?!?

    ReplyDelete
  5. I don't understand why he doesn't like his son. Oh well.

    ReplyDelete
  6. Because he is probably some little fucking weirdo who wears goat masks and tortures and kills small animals.

    ReplyDelete
  7. Shelby is killing it!

    ReplyDelete
  8. The payoff to the Team Hell No angle is Daniel Bryan and Kane finding peace through taking their angle out on Dr. Shelby.

  9. Lance Storm does not approve.

  10. this is "funny," definitely written by professional comedians

also why didn't he say "that's my son" when DB was shouting "did you put him up to this?"

    ReplyDelete
  11. That would be awesome if she made a random cameo

  12. These bits have jumped the shark for me. I'm guessing three more solid months of it though

  13. Slightly related threadjack, but apparently the newfound focus on tag teams is entirely HHH's doing and another sign that he's gaining more control.

    ReplyDelete
  14. "Hey Vince, what do you think of Shane's business endeavours?"

    ReplyDelete
  15. The focus on tag teams only works if they are committed to it. That doesn't mean just trotting out the PTP so they can say they want the titles. There has to be actual storyline development.

Also, I think ADR and Ricardo should become a permanent team. ADR is as compelling as beige wallpaper as a singles contestant.

  16.  In that case, I'm glad he's getting more power.

When Vince dies, it may resemble wrestling again. Not just the in-ring action, but the whole atmosphere. Of course, Stephanie will still be doing the storylines.

  17. Any other period or company and Dr. Shelby would have either wrestled Daniel Bryan or brought in an ex-patient to do it for him. In 2012, its a throwaway gag.

    ReplyDelete
  18. I'm not that optimistic about Trips.

    ReplyDelete
  19. I'm pretty sure he did in the actual segment, it was just cut off in the clip above.

    ReplyDelete
  20.  Like the Rhodes Scholars.

    ReplyDelete
  21. I much rather have the fake therapist solidify them in an "over" capacity than come up with a potentially crappy angle about a mental patient  that might make Nailz or Isaac Yankem look brilliant.

Kane had just inexplicably turned face for the 38th time (estimate) and Bryan was in danger of floundering after his championship/#1 contender run for the last 7 months.  This gave them a chance to keep moving forward without skipping a beat.

  22.  Why did Regal say he have conjoined twins in his attic?  Because it's random, and most of the time, random can be funny.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Surely Dr. Shelby could bring in Norman the Lunatic.  I always felt that gimmick had legs.

    ReplyDelete
  24. I couldn't help but laugh. It was the delivery. With three other people, these segments would be off the charts, oh my God terrible. But the combination of Daniel Bryan, Kane and this Dr. Shelby fellow just seems to work surprisingly well.

    ReplyDelete
  25. I'm waiting patiently for David Flair style trons for both Shelby and his son.

    ReplyDelete
  26. This is actually kind of hilarious.

    That was actually pretty funny.

    ReplyDelete
  28. It's actually bringing about character development and a rebirth of the tag division, so I'm willing to put up with it for however long it runs.

And if they don't do these skits, that means 10 minutes of touts to fill the time...

    ReplyDelete
  29. He's out for nine to twelve months with an injury suffered during the failed catch.

    ReplyDelete
  30. I don't know about actual booking, but I'd bet a lot of the "It's not really wrestling" thing is Vince, and will rectify under HHH. But none of us really know, we can just make educated guesses

    ReplyDelete
  31. Oh god I loved that skit.  Regal was brilliant and even Johnny Ace was fantastic, completely no-selling what Regal was saying and smiling like a corporate goof.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Since Mike Shaw is dead, that might be tough.  Maybe they could bring Bray Wyatt from NXT up to fill that slot?

    ReplyDelete
  33. ...I'm not sure if this is a critique of modern pro wrestling or what.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Just from reading words on a screen, it's not like I can figure out your tone. So with that comment, I'm not sure to take it as "Heh, things sure are different now! lol" vs. "Ugh. Things are different now! Wrestling sucks these days! blah blah blah."

    ReplyDelete
  35. I'll clarify then: Wrestling is stupid nowadays.
