Fwd: Insane Dec. taping schedule

---------- Forwarded message ----------

Scott,

Check out the WWE's crazy late December taping schedule:

http://www.lordsofpain.net/news/wwe/Update_on_WWE_s_Complicated_TV_Schedule_for_Late_December_Around_the_Holidays.html

I'm glad they aren't concerned about burning out both the talent and the audience who have to sit through all of this...

But they're telling stories!

  1. Hey, Blue Cross Arena in Rochester! Can't wait to not sit through that one.

  2. Maybe it's a good thing. 3 weeks worth of TV that Vince can't change his mind in between on. It'll be like the old days. It may actually make sense.

  3. Yeah, I probably won't go to that live Raw in Philly. Seriously, I can't imagine what one of those three hour Raws is like LIVE in person.

  4. I don't really see much of a problem with this. It looks like a crazy 4 days and then an inordinate amount of time off for the holidays (and I'd imagine the rosters will be split on that crazy Wednesday). And as Neil said already, there's no bizarre changes or pushes for guys one and then being squashed the next (50/50, even stevens). I mean, if you had a choice to work overtime for a week and then get the next week off, you'd do it. Or, at least, I would.

  5. They are still doing the post Xmas tour starting 12/26 and running til 12-30. There's a Saturday Raw taping in there since that following Monday is New Years Eve.

Apparently these holiday shows make a ton off merch sales since kids are flush with cash. It is a bit ridiculous to have an MSG house show less than two weeks after TLC in Brooklyn however.

  6. Here's an idea I had: do the Tribute to the Troops show from the deck of an aircraft carrier. It would make for a great visual, and the NCAA had basketball game on one a year ago, so there's no reason they can't do a wrestling show on one.

  7. I fully expect to see Brodus Clay as a dancing Santa

  8. And then the Big Show will squash him in a minute.

  9. WWE is so negligent about advertising shows in upstate, too. I should have heard about this. Not that I'll make a 5 hour drive to watch 5 hours of Smackdown but still, I didn't even hear about it.

  10. I live two miles from the Blue Cross Arena and I didn't know of it until this post. I should have... because it seems the SmackDown crew comes here every December. I was there the night after Edge won the title in 09... and Punk/MVP put on a great 15 minute match on ECW that led to a no contest.

  11. I've been to one(the show where Punk backhanded the fan) and it wasn't that bad to sit though it didn't feel any different than sitting through any live WWE show.

  12. Lex Luger could fly in on a helicopter and bodyslam the troops!

  13. I'd mark if a heel dove off the aircraft carrier to escape. Talk about losing by count-out.

  14. I was at that Raw in Sacramento too. I did start feeling a little antsy towards the end, just because I felt like we were watching so many video packages. It wasn't the worst taping I've ever been too, though. I once sat through a Raw/Heat/Smackdown/Velocity taping all in one night back in 04 or 05. My mind was numb afterwards.

  15. You pretty much got everything in 1 night for one price and considering it was when WWE was still pretty competent that sounds like something that was incredible.

  16. I wish they would actually do a decent show for Tribute to the Troops. For some reason it's always redundant matches and nothing really important in storylines has happened on it in years. Give them something worth remembering. Not that I'm a big soldier sniffer but shit, if you're gonna do it at least do it right.
