Thanks much!

Josh Stewart

That's got bad idea written all over it.  Maybe he'll get hooked on smoking yoga mats now.

Comments

  1. Makes sense to me. If Jake can teach DDP what's been keeping him alive for the past 15+ years, Page has a guaranteed best selling sequel to Yoga for Regular Guys.

  2. If Roberts already lost 20 lbs doing YOGA, then sign my fat ass up.

  3. I don't know if one last in-ring run is a good idea for Jake, especially in light of Lawler's heart attack. Lawler, to my knowledge, hasn't abused his body the way Jake has over the course of his life. But I hope that Jake finds a way to stay healthy and sober.

  4. DDP is annoyingly positive, but his intentions are good. If he can "save" Jake, that would be an awesome feat. Most of us loved Jake in his prime, and it'd be nice to see him have a happy ending after all the crap he put himself through.

  5. I think this won't end well because Jake's at that point where his body has probably become accustomed to the abuse he's done to it. You see it with a lot of old addicts and alcoholics. They'll live to 90 or 100 or whatever while they're still on the stuff, but they die a week or two after getting clean. It's sad. Jake's best option is probably to continue being a fuck up.

  6. Best idea ever. After all, when you're as low as Snake Roberts is, there's only one way to go, and that's up. And if Jake Roberts wants to turn his life into something positive, then who better than the Guru of Positive himself, D-D-P?

I hope this works out. I liked Jake Roberts. DDP likes Jake Roberts. And hopefully, under one roof, DDP will help him....

    ....like him =D

  7. I wouldn't say Lawler hasn't abused himself. Sure Jake is a crackhead, but they're not exactly serving heart conscious food in Memphis.

  8. Losing weight =/= keeping weight off. He's probably losing the weight through diet change, which is why you usually shed weight very quickly at the first part of a health regimen cause you cut soda, for example.

    ReplyDelete
  9. Do you think Jake was eating salads while he was smoking rocks of crack? In general, most of the wrestlers are living off of shit like Denny or McDonalds on the road. Roberts diet is just as bad as Lawler's, I have no doubt.

    ReplyDelete
  10. Yeah, but Roberts was probably eating less.

  11. This is a reality show right? If it isn't it should be!

    ReplyDelete
  12. That's not a bad idea. That's a good idea.

    ReplyDelete
  13. Seriously, after seeing what yoga can do for someone (look up the video of the paratrooper who was paralyzed), I can see Jake doing parkour by next year.

    ReplyDelete
  14. yes, he might have been a pain in the ass during his active days, but DDP seems to be an amazingly good person.

  15. Not reality show...sitcom.

DDP: "Jake, I'm having some of the guys over for a poker game tonight. PLEASE don't do anything to embarrass me!"

Jake: "Sure, no problem. I was actually gonna go out tonight anyway."

    *phone rings, DDP answers*

DDP: "Hello? Yeah......yeah.....ok...ok bye" *hangs up* "Well, Schiavone's out for tonight.. Jake, we need a fourth...you want in? Just promise you won't do anything stupid tonight!"

    Jake: "Sure...trust me..."

Later that night at the poker game...

DDP *throws cards on table*: "Ace-high straight! BANG!" *grabs pile of chips on table "Alright, blinds are now 50 & 100. Jake, you're dealing! Jake? Jake?"

*camera pans to Jake with 3 chips and a pile of cards. He's grabbed someone slightly off-camera by the shirt*

Jake: "You wanna play 21? I got 22, You wanna play....aces and 8s? I got some of those too!"

DDP *looks directly into camera*: "Here we go again!"

    Annnnnnnnnnnnd scene!

  16. What Jake really needs IMO is to address the issues that lead to his drug use in the first place. Obviously anyone who has seen Beyond the Mat knows about his traumatic past. I don't think Jake's drug use was just to keep going on the road; it was also to self-medicate. If Jake can get therapy to deal with his past traumas, THEN things like Yoga will stick and make his life better.

  17. If it works, can someone please send a tied up Scott Hall to DDP's address?

  18. WWE should call him for their rehab. :-)

Just watch that video. That guy was doing DDP Yoga.

  20. Annoyingly positive? I hate the Internet.

    ReplyDelete
  21. I find it quite refreshing actually. As with anybody, it gets a little bit tiresome when you feel like they're working in a product promo into a regular interview or giving you the hard sell, but it is what it is and I think his intentions are really good.

    ReplyDelete
  22. I fully expect him to be pulling out corkscrew moonsaults and 450s soon.

    ReplyDelete
  23. People don't like hearing that, but it's true. The body can't handle clean living after decades of abuse.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Nothing to do with the internet. If you're overwhelmingly positive every minute of everyday, you're annoyingly positive. And I'm someone who listens to shoe-gazing, slow tempo indie rock, so there you are.

    ReplyDelete
  25. What's the connection between shoe gazing and positivity on the Internet!?

    ReplyDelete
  26. There is none. That's why I said in the very first sentence that my demeanor has nothing to do with internet culture.
