It lumbers for a few minutes but the ending is definitely worth it.

Andre the Giant vs. Big John Studd Steel Cage... by Old-School-Wrestling

Comments

  1. Most anticlimactictic ending to a cage match ever. And for good reason. How did Andre not tear everything in both knees?!

  2. How did he not blow his knees out?

  3. This is how all matches with giants should end: with buttdrops off the top.

  4. I've always like Big John Studd. What a great wrestling name.

  6. How great was Gorilla at pbp btw? The guy made a slow lumbering match seem epic. Truly the best ever.

  7. I always thought he could have main-evented a wrestlemania against Hogan.

  8. I was wondering how McMahon convinced Studd to take that bump?

  9. This was back in the days when a steel cage match generally resulted in a definitive finish, rather than as a mid-feud filler match for the sole purpose of using some cute loophole screwjob to continue the feud.

  10. By cushioning the blow with his ass on Studd's chest.

  11. Is the meaning of "anticlimactictic" different than "anticlimactic"?

Because if it's not, then you're wrong.

  12. His feet hit first, they took the full force of that bump.

  13. It's not the first point of contact that bears the brunt of the force, it's the last. If you fall from 10 feel, graze the ground with your heel, and land on your ass, it is you ass that will feel the pain, not your feet.
