As we approach the end…

…let’s celebrate the beginning again, with CM Punk winning the WWE title all those 400 and some days ago.

  1. Why is the screen cap Del Rio's ass in my face?

  2. He looks about 5 years younger in this match.

The guy is aging in dog years. You go back and look at his SES titantron and he doesn't even look like the same guy anymore. And that was only 2010.

Maybe painkillers aren't so bad after all.

  3. Best part was being there live and hearing the crowd go nuts when the Fink was introduced as CM Punk's "personal ring announcer".

  4. Only thing I would have done differently from that is I'd have had Punk return AT THE PPV, right after Cena wins the tournament in the main event. "WHO IS THE REAL WWE CHAMPION? TUNE INTO RAW TOMORROW!"

  5. It would never have happened but I wish they'd have gone forward without Punk and went on with whatever they would have done with the WWE Title picture instead through Mania. Mania ends with Cena beating The Rock for the WWE Title (presumably). Then Punk comes out and does the "WHO'S THE REAL CHAMP?" faceoff. More people buy WM than any other PPV and Mania's supposed to be the start of the "new season" so that would've been a great way to kick things off. Besides, Punk said he wanted some time off when his contract was going to expire anyway so he would have gotten several months off to heal up and recuperate.

  6. If this were a movie or book (or any other form of media), I'd be all for it, but there's a difference between waiting until the end of a two-hour movie and waiting several actual months. I don't think there's much you could do to keep Punk fresh in the audiences' minds without getting stale - the "Matt Hardy" thing would work for about two or three weeks, but then it'd just seem repetitive. I mean, how long did it take for everybody to get sick of Jericho's "Troll" gimmick last year?

I think your idea, when condensed down, works well, but in this day of two-to-three episodes per week, it's tough to come up with something new every single time to make long-term planning not seem so boring and drawn out.

For what it's worth, I definitely think Punk should have "went rogue", defending the title at indy shows against has-beens and jobbers, just so he could sarcastically state that he's defending the title every week.

  7. Meanwhile, everyone watching at home was treated to Michael Cole completely burying Finkel and treating him like a complete joke. It was one of the many times I wanted someone to kick him square in the teeth.

  8. You can blame Del Rio for a lot of things, but the Del Rio title reign should be blamed more on Triple H, who thought bringing in his buddy, Big Lazy, for one last run was a good idea.

  9. Are you Billy Gunn?

  10. All of a sudden Hulk Hogan's life makes so much more sense.
