Calling the WCW Hotline
1-900-909-9900! Only $1.99 a minute! Massive groundings when your parents get their next phone bill!

On This Day...
Ric Flair went to a time limit draw against everyone's favourite hot head Scotty Steiner at Clash of the Champions. Sting and Lex Luger also got a win over Doom. (1991)
Batista won the Royal Rumble match, but we all remember this PPV for the incredible showdown between The Undertaker and Jon Heidenreich, in a Casket match! (2005)

I was HOOKED on the JR Hotline back in the day. I couldn't resist. Hearing all that information was addictive.

We got the phone bill, and it was literally hundreds of dollars. So my mom called the phone company and told them no way she was going to pay this, because her idiot son called all the time, not her. The phone peeps understood and vitoed the bill. I was grounded for two weeks.

  2. I was HOOKED on calling dudes back in the day. I couldn't resist. Hearing all that grown male grunting was addictive.

We got the phone bill, and it was literally hundreds of dollars. So my mom called the phone company and told them no way she was going to pay this, because her confused son called all the time, not her. The phone peeps understood and vetoed the bill. I was grounded for two weeks.

Hey, I always called the STRAIGHT GUY party-line. And I couldn't hang up on the guys who turned it into a gay-phone orgy, it would have been rude.

Man, within the time it took me to type that you got blasted on the down-votes.
They need to understand the severity of a down-vote. Just because you rock, doesn't mean you're made out of stone.

    ReplyDelete
  5. What's the point of making Triple H/Brock Hell in a Cell? Cell matches nowadays don't have any blood and they barely make use of the Cell so there's no point. Just have a no DQ match.

    ReplyDelete
  6. Caliber_Winfield_69420BoobiesJanuary 30, 2013 at 9:12 AM

I still don't understand what they meant by 'End of an Era'.

And Triple H was trying for blood last year, but Taker couldn't get it the hardway. I feel if anyone could get away with some blood, it'd be him.

    ReplyDelete
  7. haha thats so funny and I love that it got 10 down votes

    ReplyDelete
  8. I guess they were the two holdovers from The Attitude Era who still make semi-regular appearances so that's what they meant by End of an Era. Not really true now that Rock comes back more often but I think that's what they were going for.

    ReplyDelete
  9. Everyone who downvoted this should receive their complimentary, fitted vagina in 6-8 weeks.

    ReplyDelete
  10. Ouch, only 170k buys for TLC. Maybe the 2nd or 3rd best show of the year. Heres my two cents. You can't blame it on not having enough star power because cena main evented the show. What I think you can blame it on is cena and the wwe not building up dolph ziggler as a credible threat to cena. Yes we were all in because we knew it would be a great match (which it was) but the average fan probably views ziggler as an barely upper mid card guy. Just pairing him with Aj isn't enough. How many times had we 1) seen that match on tv 2) seen cena already beat ziggler? Ziggler never got any kind of big time wins or a chance to look dominant going into that match and you could say they added the mitb briefcase as a stipulation but really that means jack shit to anyone and is reflected in the buy rate. The only thing I can remember in the build to that match is cena dropping fake poop on ziggler after doing a photoshop comedy routine. They wouldn't even need to bring in part timers if they could just book a fucking angle normally.

    ReplyDelete
  11. Whats weird is a posted this 4 minutes ago. Could 8 people have even read this post in that time much less down voted it??

    ReplyDelete
  12. I agree; but it must suck for Kane to not get included in! He's at LEAST as important in the Attitude era as HHH, and that's just numbers talking not smark bias. And that's before considering Mark Henry or Christian.

    ReplyDelete
  13. The 2005 Rumble match is one of the criminally underrated Rumbles of them all. From start to finish, there's never a dull moment, and it wove in lots of great storylines as well as actually felt like SD vs. Raw. The ending was done well (from what I understand the whole restart thing was a shoot, that Batista was supposed to cleanly win), and of course we got the infamous double quad tear for Vince.

    ReplyDelete
  14. With HHH on top, Raw drew its highest ratings ever in 2000. Kane was never the focal point of the company.

    ReplyDelete
  15. Vince tearing his quads was just a perfect end for the night. Of course, he then proved how terrifing he can be by walking around like, a week later.

    ReplyDelete
  16. Where's Dougie to back up his moronic trolling now? TLC was absent if Punk and headlined by Cena...maybe if they hadn't jobbed Ziggler to Cena two straight weeks on raw before this show, people might've been interested in seeing the outcome. This is where I scratch my head and wonder how smart Cena is for business. If he knew he'd be facing Ziggler at the ppv, I don't understand why he wouldn't use his considerable clout to ensure Dolph looks like a credible threat.

    ReplyDelete
  17. I think it has also has a lot to do with being the 3rd PPV in 7 weeks. Especially when the 2 PPVs before TLC were average at best. Which is another reason I think the WM buyrates keep doing so well... If people just can't afford to watch all these shows anymore, so they decide to just get 2 or 3 a year, but Mania will defintely be one of them

    ReplyDelete
  18. Ziggler isn't a draw. Duh.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Have we ever gotten a definitive answer on whether the finish to the 05 Rumble was planned or a legitimate fuck-up? It seemed like we heard both things for a while, but then recently (the last couple years) most people state matter of factly that it was not planned. Watching it I can see both sides, it looks almost too unbelievable to have been an accident (what were they trying to do exactly?), but then I can't believe they would plan a spot like that that required 2 young, inexperienced guys to pull off with impeccable timing.
I'm just wondering if someone from WWE (current/ex-wrestler or official) has ever gone on record and said one way or the other.

    ReplyDelete
  20. I'd say HHH is 1 solid level above Kane when it comes to Attitude Era Importance. I'm assuming we're talking Screwjob-WM17. His role in early and later DX, the McMahon-Helmsley partnership that defined 2000, his influence on the evolution of the Main Event Style.
Take HHH out and you'd have a *drastically* different sequence of events. I don't think you can say the same for Kane. He doesn't belong with the "essential" players (Austin, Rock, HHH, Taker, Foley, McMahon IMO).

    ReplyDelete
  21. Because he was in the match by himself.

    ReplyDelete
  22. He was in there with a main eventer. He's a mid-carder. Who would pay to see a main eventer against a mid-carder?

    ReplyDelete
  23. So explain how the TLC PPV that didn't have John Cena on it did better than the TLC PPV a year later that didn't have CM Punk on it.

    ReplyDelete
  24. I'm only commenting so I can see how many downvotes I get.

    ReplyDelete
  25. I wouldn't mind seeing a Hell in a Cell match live. I didn't go the last time one happened in Philly.

    ReplyDelete
  26. The big four always got big numbers.

Now the big three get big numbers. soon, it will be just the big two.

    ReplyDelete
  27. As I've said a bajillion times. That HHH/Lesnar match at WM should be 2 out of 3 falls. The third fall can be hell in a Cell, but the second fall should be submissions/MMA rules.

Also it needs to have blood.

    ReplyDelete
  28. I've always heard it was a fuck-up. They were running short on PPV time, which is why Vince came barreling out like he did (which of course led to LE POP x2) so that they could get it taken care of right away.

    ReplyDelete
  29. and in comparism: Hell in a Cell did a surprisingly good buyrate. imo because of an obvious reason. smarks and marks alike were intrigued by the buildup (= are they really gonna let Ryback lose? if so, how? etc.).

    ReplyDelete
  30. Hey, don't question John Cena's drawing power.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Miz is well above ziggler. Even you must see that.

    ReplyDelete
  32. 2011 had 3 main eventers. 2012 had one.

    ReplyDelete
  33. One had a match against Cena at TLC while the other was thrown into a random six man tag against three jobbers the night of said show.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Uh, he main evented wrestlemania. Are you retarded?

    ReplyDelete
  35. Did ziggler main event wrestlemania?

    ReplyDelete
  36. Is that why he was wrestling against Jerry Lawler on PPV?

    ReplyDelete
  37. So did Lawrence Taylor? Are YOU retarded?

    ReplyDelete
  38. He made an angle with lawler work. When is the last time ziggler elevated anybody? He can't even elevate himself.

    ReplyDelete
  39. EXCELLENT LOGIC FRIEND

    ReplyDelete
  40. Yeah, you can't swing a dead cat in a wrestling arena without hitting someone that talks about the legendary Miz-Lawler feud where they showed so much confidence in Miz that he needed Alex Riley and Michael Cole's help in winning.

    ReplyDelete
  41. And Lawrence Taylor is more of a main eventer than ziggler.

    ReplyDelete
  42. In other news, the Intercontinental Cup tourney did NOT take place at the Main Event taping last night. What's going on in this company that they can't follow through on something for ONE DAY? Is what they did at the taping so important that they couldn't throw Orton beating Darren Young on the show? Spoiler alert: No, it wasn't.

    ReplyDelete
  43. You could have put ANYONE is Miz's position for that show. You could have put Primo in there. Nom was paying to see Miz. They were paying to see the Rock.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Because ziggler wins without help?

    ReplyDelete
  45. Care to back that up with actual evidence?

    ReplyDelete
  46. Yeah, but if Dougie admitted that then he would have to admit his "anti-smark" schtick of disliking everyone that the BoDers generally like is moronic and childish. Since all of his posts are about who drew what and who's a mid-carder and who's not, he would have to admit that he's a steaming pile of dipshit without a coherent point.

    ReplyDelete
  47. Was that the one where Vince tore his quads? If so, Sforcina claims it was a fuck up.

    ReplyDelete
  48. I'd say it's the big two now.

    ReplyDelete
  49. Tsk. See, you can't go too far with your ANTI-SMARK OPINIONS because otherwise it loses that slight perception that you're trying to make an actual argument instead of trolling a wrestling board.

    ReplyDelete
  50. You may want to learn the definition of main eventer before you continue to make yourself look stupid.

    ReplyDelete
  51. Thanks for the reminder of that great Ric Flair/Scott Steiner match, Dan.

One thing I've been wondering about this show, since I've been watching the 1991 Power Hour episodes lately (JR and Paul's top-notch commentary was great for that show) is that for several weeks before the show, they had been hyping that the show would be held at the CNN Center Atrium in Atlanta.

Then out of the blue, a week before the show, it was changed to the extremely tiny Mountain Center in Gainesville, Georgia.
So what prompted this change? Did CNN suddenly get cold feet about having a wrestling show in their headquarters?

As a sidenote, Dusty Rhodes' insane commentary is still a million times more entertaining than Jerry Lawler increasingly turning into Larry Zbyszko 2K13 on commentary. I loved his odd attempt to try to put over Tatsumi Fujinami at SuperBrawl by mentioning a conversation he had with Willie Nelson asking why Julio Iglesias was in the room with them.

    ReplyDelete
  52. A main eventer is not "someone who main evented one time".

    ReplyDelete
  53. Impossible because nobody can look as stupid as you do on this blog. Your stupidity is breath-taking.

    ReplyDelete
  54. If you look at it, why else would Vince come out looking incredibly pissed off?

    ReplyDelete
  55. Of course not. Because he's not a main eventer!

    ReplyDelete
  56. And Lawrence Taylor fits that definition HOW?

    ReplyDelete
  57. Because anti-smark logic says it is. Duh.

    ReplyDelete
  58. Main Eventer = anyone that smarks don't care for who have a modicum of success.

    ReplyDelete
  59. When is the last time MIZ elevated anybody?

    ReplyDelete
  60. WHOA WHOA WHOA!

In Dougie's defense, Miz main evented TWICE. But that was at Survivor Series, against the Rock and John Cena.

Obviously, we know who people bought that show to see.

    R-Truth.

    ReplyDelete
  61. He's trying to elevate Cesaro right now.

    ReplyDelete
  62. Agreed.I never understood how Summerslam was considered the second biggest PPV anyway... and it is now treated exactly the same as the non Rumble/Mania PPV's.

    ReplyDelete
  63. BAH, Cesaro is elevating himself by dead lifting everybody and being awesome.

    Answer the question.

    ReplyDelete
  64. CM Punk didn't need help against Jerry Lawler.

    ReplyDelete
  65. And that's the second time you've presented your opinion as fact to try and dispute what I say. You guys are making this too easy. Better recruit some more hive minds to try and shout me down.

    ReplyDelete
  66. So you're telling me you watched Wrestlemania 27 for the Miz?

    ReplyDelete
  67. Yeah it's definitely the big two now, for several years -- it's WrestleMania and the Rumble.

    ReplyDelete
  68. Of course he did. How else could he keep arguing if not?

    ReplyDelete
  69. I just started watching the Rumble 05 video highlights vid.

As a fan of King Crimson, FU to whoever bastardized "21st Century Schizoid Man."

    ReplyDelete
  70. Fair enough. I guess that pesky optimisim was showing up. I had sort of forgotten how poorly the past few Summerfests have been received.

    ReplyDelete
  71. How is "The Miz is elevating Cesaro" based on anything but your own opinion?

Tell you what, the anti-smark hive minds will lay off your stupidity when you can distinguish what fact and opinion are.

    ReplyDelete
  72. You think Cesaro is more of an established star than Miz? You've clearly had too much sun today.

    ReplyDelete
  73. The Miz isn't a star. He's such a non-entity that they had to drag up Ric Flair's drunken bones and "pass off" the figure-four. Since The Miz is a far worse worker than Cesaro, he has no way of "elevating" him unless the elevation is soundly losing to him at the Royal Rumble.

    ReplyDelete
  74. Main eventing Wrestlemania is entirely different than Main Eventing a smaller, WWE PPV.

Main eventing WM counts as like 10 PPVs.

    ReplyDelete
  75. More people can recognize The Miz than they can Antonio Cesaro.

    ReplyDelete
  76. Miz main evented wrestlemania.

    ReplyDelete
  77. Antonio Cesaro didn't have the benefit of being on a bunch of MTV reality shows.

    ReplyDelete
  78. Anyone could have been in that spot. Chris Benoit's dead corpse could have been in that spot. Everyone bought that show to see Cena and Rock interact.

    ReplyDelete
  79. Which means nothing. More people recognize The Miz than they do Randy Orton. I guess he went wrong by not showing up on The Real World 12 years ago.

    ReplyDelete
  80. Point still stands that Miz is a bigger star than Cesaro.

    ReplyDelete
  81. Kane, one way or another, was involved in arguably the best match of 1997, the first HIAC, after a several month long story. That feud once he arrived, while secondary to the 'edgy' stuff in importance but FINALLY gave Taker the first good feud after his six years in the WWF.

He gave Austin his first world title loss on
PPV coming off the red-hot Tyson attention and was then involved in
the main event scene for much of 1998, with Taker and Austin. In the mid-card he was in solid feuds with the like of X-Pac and especially Mankind. At this point Foley, who you credit as being part if that upper echelon, was still just bobbing around the mid card though very popular. Kane and Mankind teaming helped build both further. He remained a constant in the main event and a thorn in the side of Taker. By WM X-7, he was shuffled out of the main event but after having long been established as a main event threat and one of the franchises of the company.

HHH was Shawn's awkward looking buddy until after WM14 when he became a decent mid-card comedy act with DX. But then only as part of an ensemble. It wasn't until nearly two years after The Attitude era arguably started that he reached the main event and it took really until early 2000 when Steph got him over. Lest we all forget that he was considered about on par with TEST before then.

He then had a great 2000/2001 until injury, though his own match at X-7 saw him getting 'the rub' from jobbing to Taker in a match the WWW has half-erased from history. Kane had already been there two years earlier, heh!

That's why I consider Kane as important as HHH in that period. Both had about the same length of time in the main event, both hung around with X-Pac and Mankind a lot, making each other in the process, both were instrumental at different points in beating and finally conquering WCW.

    ReplyDelete
  82. Except it costs $10 more.

    ReplyDelete
  83. What point is this? If you're going to jump into Dougie's hole you should at least have enough awareness to know what asinine subject he's flailing at.

    ReplyDelete
  84. HHH was given a failing rocket push to elevate him from the midcard. He was legitimised only by his competition, and his most over feud was as part of a love triangle with Steph and Angle; he spent the rest of the time being 'made' by Foley and Rock. Then he got injured.

    ReplyDelete
  85. So by that logic, R-Truth is more recognizable than anyone on the roster outside of the Rock because he was in The Wrestler.

    ReplyDelete
  86. LOL @ paying for this stuff

    ReplyDelete
  87. In that case, The Miz is equal to Ric Flair since they main evented the same amount of WMs.

This is pretty much one of the most retarded things I've ever read, but The Miz was an ancillary part to WM27. The entire show was built around Triple H-Undertaker and The Rock interacting with John Cena. This is confirmed by the fact that Miz hasn't been remotely close to the top of the card in almost two years. He's now jobbing to the US champion on pre-shows.

    Seriously, continue digging that hole.

    ReplyDelete
  88. I submit that a new feature of the BOD Daily Round-Up should be an unpacking of the ridiculous things that Dougie and his sidekick Diddy come up with. If we keep giving them rope they might wind up NSYNC is better than Radiohead.

    ReplyDelete
  89. Okay already man. Let it go.

    ReplyDelete
  90. That would be Kanye West

    ReplyDelete
  91. I thought you wouldn't want to look like a man so unstable as to react with vitriolic rage every time Dougie trolls you, or so unable to detach that you need to bring his name into every 2nd post you make. But by all means, I may have misread you so keep going if you're not that concerned.

    ReplyDelete
  92. I admit, I'm a fan of the HIAC stip to the match, should it play out that way. It makes enough sense, and I'm a sucker for them anyway, just as long as there is brutality.

    ReplyDelete
  93. Bad Religion did a song called 21st Century Digital Boy.

    So them.

    ReplyDelete
  94. NSYNC has Justin Timberlake in it though...

    ReplyDelete
  95. That would be Kany--

Yo, CulturebUlly, Ima let you finish, but King Crimson did the best version of "21st Century Schizoid Man" of all time.

    Of all time!

    ReplyDelete
  96. Technically Miz would be GREATER than Flair, because technically the main event of Wrestlemania VIII was Sid/Hogan.

    ReplyDelete
  97. I was at Mania for Trips/Taker. Real good match, but it wasn't much of a 'Hell in a Cell' match. Then again, since the blood ban, I don't think we've had too many proper HIAC matches. That's just my view.

    ReplyDelete
  98. The bizarre thing is that you could put King of the Ring back in, and have the winner "Main event" Summerslam. You could build it the EXACT same way as they build the road to Wrestlemania. Then you'd have four right there that matter. A ppv in between each of the pairs brings us to six. Then I'd have 4 cheaper IYH type of events. To fill in the gaps. That could be your Exteme Rules or your Clash of Champions. etc. Those could be the gimmick ones. TLC if you want, or Extreme Rules or screw it. Go back to individual shows as it fits the story. IYH Backlash. etc. (It doesn't have to be titled IYH but you get the point.)

    ReplyDelete
  99. I like your thinking. You'd think using the same formula on a big PPV (such as KOTR) could draw better money than what they do now.

    ReplyDelete
  100. If you ignore it, it goes away.

    ReplyDelete
  101. He's a workhorse and a necessary component. A spare tire might not seem essential until you get a flat on the highway. Kane could step into virtually any feud with any person and sub in for anyone at a moments notice and it felt legit. I don't know a lot of other wrestlers from the Era that could do that. Godfather? Val Venis? D-Lo Brown? Mark Henry (At the time)? Everyone else was either in the tag division or incapable.

    ReplyDelete
  102. Wait...people are actually arguing that Miz is a main eventer? Main eventers don't work pre-shows.

    ReplyDelete
  103. To further bury that idea, CHRIS JERICHO is more well known than everyone on the roster, including John Cena, but not the Rock, because he was on Dancing with the Stars.

    ReplyDelete
  104. He main evented Wrestlemania, something a midcarder like Ric Flair never did.

    ReplyDelete
  105. You read way too far into that one sentence that said nothing about R-Truth or The Wrestler.

    ReplyDelete
  106. I'll repeat, The Miz is a bigger star than Cesaro.

    ReplyDelete
  107. He was injured. And it was an interview segment.

    ReplyDelete
  108. But he worked the pre-show. Did he not?

    ReplyDelete
  109. LOL. So doing an interview and getting squashed by Cesaro are the same thing.

    ReplyDelete
  110. A point that no one is even talking about. Do you have any other irrelevant points you'd like to make while we're at it?

    ReplyDelete
  111. Cena didn't go from main eventing WM to pre-shows less than two years later. Big difference, sport.

    ReplyDelete
  112. It's not really vitriolic rage; I just want to see how far down the depths him and his buddy can get. It's pretty damn fun.

    ReplyDelete
  113. Working a show is a blanket term for agreeing to do a segment at a show.

    ReplyDelete
  114. The statement was; "main eventers don't work pre-shows."

John Cena worked a pre-show. He is a main eventer. The statement is false.

    ReplyDelete
  115. He did, but if he was healthy he would have been in the Cell with CM Punk.

    ReplyDelete
  116. Why do you guys have to put qualifiers on everything?

    ReplyDelete
  117. You said Miz is not a star. I just proved that he is a star.

    ReplyDelete
  118. I considered going to TLC, since it was just a subway ride away in Brooklyn, but eventually I decided to take a friend up on a free ticket to a live stage rendition of It's Christmas Charlie Brown.

While I enjoyed the stage show, I'm still kicking myself that I passed on TLC.

    ReplyDelete
  119. There's a huge difference between being on the pre-show doing an interview because you were injured, and wrestling on the pre-show because there wasn't room for you on the card.

Let's not forget, lots of main eventers used to go on Sunday Night Heat before PPVs to conduct interviews, they NEVER wrestled.

    ReplyDelete
  120. Let's not change the subject here. The statement was that main eventers do not work the pre-show. John Cena worked a pre-show. This argument has been solved.

    ReplyDelete
  121. Miz also got squashed by SANTINO before Extreme Rules. Let's see that happen to anyone else that ever main evented a Wrestlemania.

    ReplyDelete
  122. LOL. Look, you can try to use all the technicalities you want to somehow prove Miz is a main eventer. At the end of the day, he's not. John Cena appearing on a preshow because he was injured is not the same as getting squashed.

    ReplyDelete
  123. Oh, does this apply when the performer is injured?

    ReplyDelete
  124. All hail Miz! King of the Youtube Pre-show!

    ReplyDelete
  125. It applies anytime a person has agreed to perform at a show.

If you are on the show in any capacity, you are working that show.

    ReplyDelete
  126. I'm not even talking about The Miz here. Get your arguments in line.

    ReplyDelete
  127. Also, he hosted that horrible game show on ABC

    ReplyDelete
  128. LOL, I mean, the argument might be a little more valid if Miz had main evented once in the past couple years. But he hasn't and the mental gymnastics are hilarious.

    ReplyDelete
  129. Technical question.

I'm trying to hook my bluray player up to a different tv than usual. To be honest I never really did much with it - I hook it up, I watched blurays, maybe it's the top quality it could be, maybe I'm doing it wrong. Never really bothered with it for a while.

So I plugged the HDMI cord into the HDMI output for the tv - I had to add the video output to the tv. I switched the bluray setting to HDMI hook up. I put a bluray in and it tells me the "unsupported output, check device settings". WTF does that mean? The bluray screen shows up when I'm messing with the settings but when I put a disc in it won't play.

I had it hooked up with the audio video cables but that suddenly stopped playing volume so I switched to the HDMI cables, partly because everything has a bit of a green tint to it.

I really don't know much about this stuff - I like plugging things in and having them just work.

So on topic - was it ever confirmed if the Batista/Cena finish was botched?

    ReplyDelete
  130. Because once upon a time he main evented WM? Yeah, so did Lawrence Taylor, Paul Orndorff and King Kong Bundy. Not the definition of stars, little guy.

    Keep trying.

  131. I could have sworn all you needed was the HDMI cable and nothing else, at least that's how it is with my PS3.

As for the other thing, I could have sworn Bischoff confirmed that it was a botch at some point in the last couple of years.

  132. You're not good at this. The Miz is a star because he was on a reality TV show when it was still kind of relevant. Then he parlayed that into wrestling where he won the most prestigious title in the business and made appearances on Fallon. The Miz can be recognized by non-wrestling fans when they happen upon wrestling just the same way they can recognize Rock, Cena, or CM Punk. He is a star if that is at all possible.

    ReplyDelete
  133. How am I changing the subject?

He worked a pre show in an interview (you with me so far?) because (now pay close attention to this part) he was injured.

    ReplyDelete
  134. No, you're using a convoluted argument to try and prove The Miz can still be a main eventer even though he's working pre-shows. John Cena appearing on a preshow because he's injured and can't wrestle on the main card means nothing.

    ReplyDelete
  135. And he was on all those "I Love the... insert random decade here" shows.

    ReplyDelete
  136. He hasn't been relevant to any non-wrestling fans since he left the Challenges about eight years ago. He's not a star anymore than CT, Alton or Puck.

    ReplyDelete
  137. You mentioned being recognizable. How is Miz recognizable?

    ReplyDelete
  138. You started talking about your qualifier rather than just admitting that I was right.

    ReplyDelete
  139. You're not right though.

John Cena never lost to guys like Santino on a Youtube pre show. He did an interview segment that focused on one of the top stories of the company at that time.

    ReplyDelete
  140. Here, I'll present this to you again.

The statement was; "Main eventers don't work pre-shows." John Cena, a main eventer, worked a pre-show. Tell me how that has anything to do with The Miz.

Answer: It doesn't. It's talking about a statement that has been proven false.

In science, when you prove a theory wrong, you don't start talking about a whole different theory.

    ReplyDelete
  141. I am right.

John Cena worked a pre-show. He is a main eventer. The statement was that main eventers do not work pre-shows.

    ReplyDelete
  142. So if this your reasoning for Miz, then see my reasoning for R-Truth and Chris Jericho.

The Wrestler was an Oscar nominated flick. R-Truth was in that film. So was Necro Butcher. Chris Jericho got knocked out by Mickey Rourke at Wrestlemania. Jericho also used to be all over VH1, and was on Dancing with the Stars.

Miz being on the Real World is like comparing the job of a fry cook to being the President of the United States.

    ReplyDelete
  143. That's what I thought to. It worked on another tv like that but it's not happening on this one. I may have to mess around with the settings. The tv's from 2007, so who knows...

It seemed like too risky of a spot to do if the finish was supposed to be a tie - just coincidence that they happened to land at the same time I think.

    ReplyDelete
  144. Once again you're off the beaten. My statement was The Miz is a bigger star than Cesaro. You guys complained that Miz is not a star. Now that I prove he is a star, you come along with, "Well so are _______, ________, and _______."

Yes, but The Miz is still a bigger star than Cesaro.

    ReplyDelete
  145. Wrong.

I've told people I watch wrestling before. One group of people all wondered if Mike from The Real World ever made it in wrestling.

    ReplyDelete
  146. Don't use the red, yellow, white plugs. You don't need them. Just the HDMI wire. I did the same thing when I first got a blu ray player/HD tv a few months back. Wasted an entire weekend watching LOTR in stand def.

    ReplyDelete
  147. Corrr, I see a lot of bickering. What's happening, people?

    ReplyDelete
  148. Hey man, i'm with you this one.

    ReplyDelete
  149. I never argued that Miz wasn't a star, I argued that he wasn't a main eventer.

    ReplyDelete
  150. You're wrong.

    Work = wrestling.

John Cena has yet to wrestle on a pre-show.

    ReplyDelete
  151. You knew exactly what I meant by saying work.

    ReplyDelete
  152. I don't put qualifiers on anything...except the things I want to be really careful about.

    ReplyDelete
  153. King Kong Bundy agrees with this assessment!

    ReplyDelete
  154. Yes, someone who is schedule to do something on the show. Work.

    ReplyDelete
  155. I'm sorry that outside opinions upset you so much. I'll try and get in line with what you five guys say in the future. The real crime of Chris Benoit murdering a child is that I can't get his matches on DVD. I'm the real victim.

    ReplyDelete
  156. You knew I meant work a match. But by all means, keep being a nerd about it.

    ReplyDelete
  157. all you need is an HDMI cord. make sure your cable is plugged into the HDMI INPUT, rather than output (if your TV actually has an output), and you should be good to go.

    ReplyDelete
  158. There's having different opinions, and then there's saying things to be a dick.

For instance, you asked me "Are you retarded?" earlier when I said Miz wasn't a main eventer.

*wait for "Please stop trolling me" response*

    ReplyDelete
  159. I'm pretty sure you'd have to be retarded to not know that Miz main evented wrestlemania.

    ReplyDelete
  160. Former referee Jimmy Korderas has a podcast now and they went over the Rumble 2005 and he basically said that it was a screw up. He said Cena caught Batista with a punch that knocked him loopy so when Batista picked Cena up for the Demon Bomb he lost his balance and they toppled over.

    ReplyDelete
  161. He's a star because he's more established than a guy who's been on the main roster a year?

    ReplyDelete
  162. So apparently Impact is going to start going on the road. Why do I get the feeling that a lot of the Impact Zone regulars are going to feel all betrayed and butthurt that they can no longer dictate the atmosphere of the shows? It'll be interesting to see how booking might change depending on a broader sampling of fans.

    ReplyDelete
  163. Main eventing Wrestlemania doesn't make you a main eventer.

Because by that classification guys like Nash and Ric Flair aren't main eventers.

    ReplyDelete
  164. I did that when I first got it - I'm pretty sure I was watching standard def for months. It seems to be working now. Everything still has a bit of a green tint to it though, that might be the tv.

    ReplyDelete
  165. I don't know if Miz is a Main Eventer or not, it's not for me to judge, but that was one hell of a thread. I can't believe it went on that long.

    ReplyDelete
  166. How am I supposed to read your mind. Working means working. Michael Cole works a show. Brad Maddox works a show. Paul Heyman works a show. They all are working a show when they are scheduled to appear.

Use your words better if you want me to understand you.

    ReplyDelete
  167. King Kong Bundy is a bigger star than Cesaro.

    ReplyDelete
  168. They needed to do this years ago.

    ReplyDelete
  169. It sucks because the one reason I don't go to 411 and started coming to the BOD is to avoid trolls and to be able to talk wrestling intelligently.

    ReplyDelete
  170. I'm all for it. You need diversity. You need new crowds. That Impact Zone crowd has seen damn near everything TNA has done for years. Gotta spread the word.

    ReplyDelete
  171. Every post of yours I read, the comic book guy from The Simpsons voice is in my head.

    ReplyDelete
  172. It is absolutely for you to judge. Because if you don't think a guy is a main eventer, then you're probably not buying the PPV that features him.

    ReplyDelete
  173. You say stuff to be a contrarian and take it to its most illogical extreme. You're here to troll us haughty smarks about what REAL wrestling fans like, even if the only thing you really comment on is labels. So don't act like you're here to just discuss wrestling. You throw up troll bait then cry like a bitch when people call it for what it is.

    ReplyDelete
  174. Probably the tv settings. Or maybe the backlight coming through. I've never felt more like an idiot after watching ROTK and going to switch the channel back over to the tv and seeing the HDMI channel. "....wait a minute..." Click on it and glorious HD hits the screen. I think the entire block heard me shout FUCK!

    ReplyDelete
  175. About fucking time. I always tune in when they are on the road, because the crowd is just that much better. Everytime they've been in the UK, for example, the crowd has elevated the show.

    ReplyDelete
  176. man serious, there are some butt-hurt people on the BoD now...

    ReplyDelete
  177. I may not be buying a PPV that features Miz, but I'm also not buying a PPV for Randy Orton or Shemus, either. I enjoy the product overall, though, and one guy isn't really making the decision for me either way.

I might buy a PPV for extended segments with Daniel Bryan and Kane, though. I enjoy those.

    ReplyDelete
  178. 8!!! 8 Up-VOTES AH AH AH!!!

    ReplyDelete
  179. You can upvote me, or down-vote me... you still take the time to vote.

    *STILL OVER*

    ReplyDelete
  180. Yeh, I can vouch for that. Been at a few of the UK shows and people are fucking happy to be there, no doubt. Always a good vibe and everyone kind of seems on a similar wavelength.

    ReplyDelete
  181. Wow. You are just incredibly stupid. That's not the only criteria. That's like saying winning a batting title makes you a great baseball player, so not winning a batting title means you aren't one. It's like trying to explain physics to a puppy.

    ReplyDelete
  182. ...Did you just use the "I know you are, but what am I?" defense? Are you 12?

    ReplyDelete
  183. Can we please define what "being a main eventer" is?

Is it someone who is the sole reason that someone would consider watching a show or purchasing a PPV? Is it someone who can have a four star match with anyone? Is it someone that all the media outlets request for PR purposes? Is it someone that can work 200 shows a year without injury, and still hit every additional function that WWE requires of them? Is it some vague combination of all of that or more?

Or can we just make it simple and state that a main event is whomever is working in the main event?

    ReplyDelete
  184. My definition of main eventer is someone that gen pop will pay to see.

    ReplyDelete
  185. This is some of the most awful, transparent trolling I've ever seen. Please stop.
