Chris Jercho's 1st Book

http://marianosaves.wordpress.com/2013/02/22/full-book-review-chirs-jericho-a-lions-tale-around-the-world-in-spandex/

My second full book review. Cannot wait for feedback. Thank you again for everything.

Never did read this one, but my agent almost got me the job of ghostwriting it for Jericho.  Honestly, that would have been terrible for all involved.

  1. Fantastic book. Can't remember if it was his first or second book, but while killing time today at Barnes and Noble I saw they had one of them in the bargain section for 5.99 in hardcover. Had a bunch so I'm assuming any B&N will have it. If anyone hasn't read it, it is well worth the 6 bucks to pick it up (either book).

  2. Most writers are.

I've never done anything at all in the literary world, but I do have a journalism degree and have worked in that field quite a bit (don't now). To interview someone and make a story out of it but to make sure it's in their voice entirely and not your own? That sounds like torture.

Then again, that's how the ghostwriting process *usually* goes. With what the dude who ghostwrote it said about how it's entirely Jericho's voice I wonder if that relationship was more like songwriter/producer, where Jericho did the writing but this dude simply helped organize it.

  3. How have you never read this??? I rank this and the followup right up there with the Bible. Lion's Tale is the old testament and Undisputed the new testament. Go read it, Scott. The part about giving the pot dealer a thumbs up and running away is worth the price of the book. That, and driving with underwear full of dookie.

  4. Both books deserve a 10 star rating.

There are so many great stories in both books, too many to mention but one story I loved was the awkward conversation Jericho had with Alfonso Ribeiro (aka Carlton Banks himself) before the Celebrity Duets finale (which Carlton ended up winning oddly enough).

The third book is definitely on my "Must Buy As Soon As It's Released" list along with The Ultimate Warrior's long-delayed book (what's the deal behind that anyway?).

  5. I'm trying hard to think of a worse one.

Arn Anderson's book could have been great but for some odd reason, both his and DDP's books are drenched in more kayfabe than an issue of PWI so ultimately it was pretty terrible (at least Goldberg was the one WCW guy smart enough to not put any kayfabe bullshit in his book and it was actually pretty decent as a result).

Hulk Hogan's two books are laughably atrocious but at least they are bad in an entertaining, must read again kind of way. Kind of like how "Samurai Cop" is a bad movie but it's one you must see over and over again because it's so hilariously bad.

Shawn Michaels' book was both bad and boring, a fatal combination but still not as bad as Rock's book.

I just thought of it: Diana Hart's book. It doesn't really cover her life like she claims and it's filled with so many bogus stories that even Hogan would tell her to tone down the exaggerating.

So yeah, her book is definitely worse than The Rock's. At least Rock's book was mostly fact based.
