Well, I had sex with your wife
ReplyDeleteReally dude?
ReplyDeleteThe Hogpen doesn't need to be on there.
ReplyDeleteIt's a pretty infamous match.
ReplyDeleteHis wife is in a coma
ReplyDeleteYawn
ReplyDeleteDid Movie put her into one?
ReplyDeleteShame they didn't throw in Bret-Patriot or Pillman-Goldust. 'I'm gonna kick the crap out of this guy and I'm gonna enjoy doin' it' - XD
ReplyDeleteWhy not? It's actually a decent little match.
ReplyDeleteI was just about to say that. I love how they shoe horned those two shit matches in there.
ReplyDeleteIT WAS ME AUSTIN. IT WAS ME ALL ALONG!!!
ReplyDeleteFun set, but I won't pick it up since I had all the VHS and converted them to DVD before I eBay'd them to the Interwebs.
ReplyDeleteThe HBK - Mankind match has to have set a record for most commercial releases of any match. Personally I don't think it has aged very well. Glad to see the 8 man tag match made it on the set, that match ruled.
ReplyDeleteF The Simpsons I mark out for Seinfeld references.
ReplyDeleteI would have liked it more if it were Mick Foley just being Mick, or Cactus Jack. I hate the Mankind character before 1998. I don't like the squealing, the pulling of the hair, the jabbing of his own leg. On the other hand, it's really nice to see one of my favorites, who was often labeled as just a hardcore guy, go out there and work with one of the all time greats as great as anyone else has.
ReplyDeleteNice selection. Missing out on Bret Hart vs. Laffite& Lawler/Hart and the mind boggles at Douglas/Hall, but meh.
ReplyDeletehttp://www.wwedvdnews.com/two-matches-wwe-war-games-dvd/
ReplyDeleteif this is legit: holy s...
Didn't Bret/Laffite just come out on Bret's new dvd?
ReplyDelete??
ReplyDeleteIt did indeed. Probably just didn't want to double up a match on two DVDs so close together.
ReplyDeleteNot only that, but it's probably Hunter's first high-profile match/feud.
ReplyDeleteTHOSE are the matches they confirm? They couldn't confirm some of the earlier War Games matches? And how many non-WCW/NWA matches are they going to put on a disc celebrating a match that only existed in WCW/NWA?
ReplyDeleteWhere is the threat threat cage match involving the Rock, Mankind and Ken Shamrock, that match was brilliant
ReplyDeleteWell to be fair those are two that you might not expect to be on there.
ReplyDeleteI would bet that most of the others are easy pickings.
"Simplistic yet brilliant" is an actual category title? Really?
ReplyDeleteWhat's everyone's favorite WarGames match? My personal favorite is Sting's Squadron v. The Dangerous Alliance.
ReplyDeleteWell the life support machine called and.....
ReplyDeleteI DID IT FOR THE ROCK
ReplyDeleteYeah how dare I post fact.
ReplyDeleteI did it all for the nookie.
ReplyDeleteIT SHOULD BE ON EVERY DVD WWE RELEASES.
ReplyDeleteEugene never wrestled Sting!
ReplyDeleteI loved those old Horsemen - Dusty & Friends ones from when the Bash toured. They were more violent brawls than the later ones were.
ReplyDeleteWell, this sounds awesome.
ReplyDeleteNot to rub salt in the wounds, but the original coliseum releases are insanely valuable on ebay.
ReplyDeleteI thought he was great as a tag partner with Vader. And he was a good foil to Taker.
ReplyDeleteI know, that seems like quite the backhanded compliment
ReplyDeleteOf all the shows to get two matches from, why choose buried alive?
ReplyDeleteThere's enough great matches missing here to create a full second set:
World, IC & Tag Championships on the line
Owen Hart & British Bulldog Vs Shawn Michaels & Kevin Nash (IYH:3)
Shawn Michaels Vs Owen Hart (IYH:6)
Steel Cage match for the WWF title
Diesel Vs Bret Hart (IYH:6)

HHH Vs The Rock (Fully Loaded)
Steel Cage Match

X-Pac Vs D'lo Brown (Judgement Day)
The Bret/Austin match is on the Blu-Ray.
ReplyDeleteI've always liked the Dudes with Attitudes vs. the Horsemen from 91, but Dangerous Alliance is a close second.
ReplyDeleteThat's on the new Bret set. It's an awesome carry job.
ReplyDeleteIt's a better match than Austin-HHH from Buried Alive.
ReplyDeleteThat Bret-Bulldog match is masterful. Bret seemed to indicate in a recent interview that he may not have been fully satisfied with it because it was difficult for him to figure out how to work Davey as a face, but I think it's a masterpiece on par in many ways with Wembley from a pure work perspective.
ReplyDeleteShawn-Diesel was overdue for a re-release. I think it's only on the first Shawn DVD from 2002.
ReplyDeletehttp://www.wwedvdnews.com/match-listing-wcw-war-games-wwe-dvd/39302/
ReplyDeleteFull match listing. Fairly comprehensive set!
I just saw his appearance on '30 Rock' as Mankind earlier today. I guess they had Mick in character because it's weirder, but they never even said he was a wrestler. It's pretty bizarre.
ReplyDeleteI know it's been released on a thousand different DVD sets, but Shawn/UT Hell In The Cell should be on this. I also remember a pretty good Undertaker/Austin match that I think was Austin's first ever title shot that might have warranted inclusion. The Hart Foundation was at ringside running interference. A great forgotten match.
ReplyDeleteReally? Had a quick look and they don't see too valuable, thought with the collection I had I could have made a tiny fortune... Damn it! Maybe I've still got some in the garage...
ReplyDeleteI've never seen 30 Rock. Had no idea Mick did a guest spot.
ReplyDeleteI have seen the leprechaun though. Yeah!
.... his wife is in a coma.
ReplyDeleteI haven't looked for a few years so it's possible things have really depreciated since then. And it's really hit or miss - most stuff is worth like $5, but there are some exceptionally rare ones worth a lot.
ReplyDeleteHa, Savio Vega was the surprise guy. It's still funny.
ReplyDeleteThe left the best match off the set. Sid vs. Diesel from IYH One.
ReplyDeletePOWER BOMB COMING UP!
POWER BOMB AND . . .
WHOA . . . DEVASTATING Vancouver
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WSvr7FwOk3Q - Greatest IYH match ever.
ReplyDeleteYou know Catus Jack did the squealing before Mankind did? In WCW in 1993?
ReplyDeletesame for me. I have every IYH except five converted over.
ReplyDeleteReally? I have a heap of In Your House VHS tapes plus random WWF shows. Pity it's all in PAL and not NTSC.
