  1. REVIEW WCW THUNDER!

    ReplyDelete
  2. I had both these games, but the first one I can remember anything about was JBI.

    ReplyDelete
  3. Ahh, fine memories of a co-op career, where my friend had match after match after match, while my character sat in the back, lonely and un-used.

  4. Who would've guessed 12+ years ago that WWE would use the SD Random Feud Generator as its template for all the stories they tell?

    ReplyDelete
  5. Jeebus that makes me feel old...

    ReplyDelete
  6. Man I loved the season mode in this game along with the somewhat risque pictures of the Divas in the loading scenes. Good times....

*6-second cutscene of a Superstar pacing in the locker room*

  8. If I were him I wouldn't even bother, it's the exact same game as Nitro outside of some very slight roster changes.

  9. Holy shit...I forgot how bad Stevie Richards looked in the game.

    ReplyDelete
  10. It was a running gag on Scotsman's old site(s) I think he was referring to.

    ReplyDelete
  11. BUT IT HAD CAGE MATCHES!!!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  12. I think every copy of this game ended up in a used games bargain bin somewhere, I see it far more than any other wrestling title.

    ReplyDelete
  13. Hated the whole "deliver a devastating move, but they pop right back up" thing, but these games were pretty fun in a group of people for a short round of mayhem. Definitely a different kind of fun than the AKI games -- they seemed to evolve more from "WrestleMania: The Arcade Game" more than the other titles.

    ReplyDelete
  14. Oh yeah, I forgot about that.

    ReplyDelete
  15. Spot-on sir.

    ReplyDelete
  16. And you could change everyone's costumes. Though I never understood why Kevin Nash would be wearing powder blue when you made him a member of The Flock.

    ReplyDelete
  17. I loved how you could beat a randomly generated custom in order to unlock attire. Some of those guys looked ridiculous

    ReplyDelete
  18. What are you talking about? You don't remember all the times in the WWF when Austin would hit the Stunner on someone, only for them to immediately somersault backwards to their feet? Realism at its finest, good sir.

  19. You think Kofi vs. Dolph was run into the ground? Dean Malenko and Scotty 2 Hotty must've fought for the Light Heavyweight Title like 100 times in my year in Season.

  20. I'm not gonna lie; I used to set a Fatal Four Way between four Divas just to ogle at the TitanTrons. I wouldn't even play the match, I'd just exit out and select four more, rinse, repeat. That's what I substituted for porn when I was 14.

    ReplyDelete
  21. That's what the "Create-A-Wrestler" was for. I used to dress up some of the women in thongs and rotate them around to see their pixelated buttcheeks. Tori's titantron had a wet t-shirt too so technically the game showed some female nippleage.

    ReplyDelete
  22. My favorite was when you'd knock them off the top of the cage to the floor and they'd totally no sell it lol

    ReplyDelete
  23. This changes everything.

    ReplyDelete
  24. The cage match alone, honestly sold me on the game.

    ReplyDelete
  25. He looked like friggin Joseph Park

    ReplyDelete
  26. I actually think someone should ape the look of these entrances in real life. Rather than a huge set, just have them enter in front of a big video screen so you can show clips and push the character more.

    ReplyDelete
  27. So incredibly frustrating

    ReplyDelete
  28. What a horrible memory. Thanks for reminding me.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Wrestling fans are a bunch of pervs. Not that there is anything wrong with that

    ReplyDelete
  30. To be fair...Taker did exactly that to Punk at WM.

    ReplyDelete
  31. But it led to absolutely fucking EPIC matches. My brother and I used to have 30+ minute ladder matches and we were on the edge of our seats the whole time b/c you never knew when you'd win from a clothesline or some transition move. Super frustrating, but really engrossing.

    ReplyDelete
  32. The only downside to this game...

    ReplyDelete
  33. You could also kind of get the clothes to match the skin tone to create a naked Mideon but on women effect. Being 14 was AWESOME. haha

    ReplyDelete
  34. This game had a great create a PPV mode for the time. I loved that you could actually pop buyrates and change titles. Fairly novel for the time.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Yeah for the right type of player, I can see how it'd be a really fun game, it's very arcade-y. Just not my preferred style of videogame, but it was fun every once in awhile.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Viscera beat Kane?!?!

    ReplyDelete
  37. One game had my friend & I brawling with created characters in a 30-minute Iron Man match, with ONE FALL separating us, as my guy desperately defended himself against my friend's guy.

    ReplyDelete
  38. I made a chick who was like Stacey Kiebler in her Miss Hancock persona, but in the skankiest skirt/top combination ever. Gloriously perverse.
