Threadjack On the upside of TNA making cuts, they're using the extra money appropriately. Like, with a new title belt. Ugh... http://www.411mania.com/wrestling/news/291089/TNA-News:-Notes-on-Reason-For-Cost-Cutting,-New-X-Division-Title-Coming,-More.htm
I definitely think that's on the table for this year. I kinda feel like some combination of Cena/Punk/Bryan is gonna be the WWE title match at Mania this year. I mean, Rock is not gonna be in the title match, neither is Taker, HHH, and probably not Lesnar.
I'd bet on either Cena has a coast to coast run and faces Punk at mania, or it's Bryan defending against Punk with Cena/Taker finally happening.
Meltzer is reporting that the most likely plan for Summerslam will be Bryan defeating Cena but Orton cashing in right afterwards and going back to being a vicious heel. On one hand, the loss won't hurt Bryan and it's long past due Orton has had a change of character. On the other, damn it would suck for Bryan to only hold the title for 5 minutes before losing it. But so long as he wins it back I guess it will be fine. Personally I'd love for Bryan to get the title back at Mania but that might be too long a wait.
Orton bringing the punt back and taking Bryan out for a bit is a good business move. Bryan comes back even more over and Randy would be a nasty heel again.
That could work as well. Honestly though it's been a long time since WWE had a dominant heel champion (the WWE title, not WHT) and Orton isn't a bad choice. Plus Meltzer's scenario allows Bryan to be put on the shelf for a bit and come back looking to kill Orton. But we'll see what happens at the PPV, which I'm actually seeing live and I never get WWE PPVs live except for Mania due to the price. That's how interested I am in their product now.
That can't be Cena. He's not wearing jean shorts!
ReplyDeleteCena gave him a hell of a lot of offense. And his chain-wrestling was actually better than it is today.
ReplyDelete"Jorts," please.

And he worked on Tuesday...
ReplyDeleteApparently, they let Bryan call the match.
ReplyDeleteI can't wait for Bryan/Cena on a main event level. If they pick the right crowd it'll be Punk/Cena all over again.
Man I hope Punk / Cena get a wrestlemania main event sometime soon. Those guys have insane chemistry.
ReplyDeleteYeah, me too. Those two are just made for each other.
ReplyDeleteShould just go back to the original X title.

I really don't think Cena / Taker will gel very well.
ReplyDeleteAfter seeing this video, I have come to a conclusion:
ReplyDeleteCena is descended from a fucking banana.

ReplyDeleteThe other scenario could be Bryan beats Cena, Orton cashes in, Bryan kicks his ass and makes him submit, and THAT turns Orton into a vicious heel.
ReplyDeleteThat's because "chain wrestling" barely appears in the WWE main event style.

ReplyDeleteDisagree - both men know how to work the crowd, the reversals and near-falls will have us eating out of their hands.
ReplyDeleteI dunno, to me it feels like a Peanut Butter and Prime Rib sandwhich. Both things good on their own, but when you mix them, mehhhh
