Monday Night Open Mic

Howdy Blog O'Doomers!

Hope everyone had a nice, relaxing weekend. It rained like hell here which forced us to change the normal plans of joyriding on the boat and watching the fireworks. Instead we listened to the rain and played a game of "firework, lightning or gun shot." Either way my dogs are happy the day is over.

I caught the UFC fight. That was strange. Silva was overdoing it even by his standards and got caught and then sort of hinted that he wanted to retire but not really retire...My husband said either way he really didn't want to fight Saturday. Either Weidman's early take down stuff spooked him and he knew he was going to have to try something other than coming straight at him or he just doesn't want to do this and was being a super dick in hopes of pissing King Dana off. At the same time, Silva's strikes looked serious enough.

The post-match interview seemed odd too. Was he sick of holding the title? Was he sick of getting the run around on the super fights from White? Is he just going to go to 205 and try to win a couple of prelims to make the Jones fight happen? Either way I like Weidman a lot so I was happy but we didn't see the best of Anderson Silva on Saturday and that sort of annoyed me. Unless Silva really wants a rematch I don't understand force feeding one to the public because Silva will just pull the same shit again. He's a strange guy.

Didn't he just land a movie role too? Eh. Whatever. I'm nearing my end run with the UFC anyway. Thankfully I grabbed about 50 old card DVDs when they were $3 at Big Lots so I can watch those whenever I need to remember what it was like when it was fun.

As for tonight. Who knows? Hopefully we'll see more Bryan, more Punk and good matches. Enjoy the show, come out swinging and keep it clean!

Comments

  1. From this day forward, WWE will pretend that the "What!" Chants are "Wyatt!" chants.

    ReplyDelete
  2. Those "what" chants could really ruin a Wyatt promo tonight. Hopefully they don't.

    ReplyDelete
  3. Going to be another embarrassing night to be a Pro Wrestling fan.

    ReplyDelete
  4. Or they could make the Wyatt promo even more memorable. Great performers use the crowd reaction to their advantage.

    ReplyDelete
  5. No, Pro Wrestling will always be a great Nintendo game.

    ReplyDelete
  6. Maybe you should do something else?

    ReplyDelete
  7. Can´t get enough of Starman vs Fighter Hayabusa!

    ReplyDelete
  8. Probably won't be watching, just flipping it on in between innings of the Indians/Tigers game. Anything WWE nowadays is a battle to get through. Tonight seems like no different with the "Job Evaluation" which will be filled with immature fat jokes and the McMahon's making themselves look like Gods. Also most likely a tag match with the Money in the Bank RAW participants.

    ReplyDelete
  9. A winner is you.

    ReplyDelete
  10. How dare you not gratefully eat VInce's shit with a spoon!

    ReplyDelete
  11. King Slender or GTFO

    ReplyDelete
  12. They should show that Rick Martel clip on the site today and announce that he'll be in the 2014 HOF.

    ReplyDelete
  13. I hope the Wyatt family debut kicks off the show so I don't have to waste 3 hours.

    ReplyDelete
  14. Have my fingers crossed that they play the Wyatt family thing right . . .

    ReplyDelete
  15. Undertaker: I'll tell ya what why don't you say what if you like to sleep with your own sister

    Half of the crowd: What!

    ReplyDelete
  16. So watching a skysport stream and before it starts they have a countdown timer with random WWE clips and one is about 3 seconds of JTG dancing . . . what a highlight that will never be seen on WWE

    ReplyDelete
  17. I got thrown out of this dump at a Nitro many years ago

    ReplyDelete
  18. Razor Ramon name drop!!

    ReplyDelete
  19. Dare I ask what you did?

    ReplyDelete
  20. cabspaintedyellowJuly 8, 2013 at 6:03 PM

HA! I had an inkling she'd say "Triple H," even though he has about as much to do with a ladder as Bastion Booger.

    ReplyDelete
  21. It depresses me that no one in the audience knows who Razor Ramon is... I feel old.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Rock/HHH from SummerSlam '98 was really awesome though.

    ReplyDelete
  23. I threw one of the WCW balloons up in the air and it hit Curt Hennig. lol.

    ReplyDelete
  24. cabspaintedyellowJuly 8, 2013 at 6:03 PM

Open Raw with Vickie Guerrero/Brad Maddox:

    6.1 quarter hour

    ReplyDelete
  25. Seriously. I get that Hardy and Bully are probably off limits, but she couldn't have said Edge and Christian instead?

    ReplyDelete
  26. Vickie sure is good a memorizing lines.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Yes it was.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Or even just Shawn Michaels

    ReplyDelete
  29. I took it as her sucking up to Triple H.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Haha. That's awesome. I seriously just tried Youtubing it, all I found was playlists

    ReplyDelete
  31. You know, that opening theme song sucks. Definitely doesn't scream "hey people are going to get this asses kicked!"

    ReplyDelete
  32. I was just thinking this segment could use more King.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Now, if we use the app, we too can become a part of the job evaluation!

    ReplyDelete
  34. This opening segment is death! Oh well only 174 minutes to go!!

    ReplyDelete
  35. Everyone should get it and flood it with "pro" votes. It's times like these when I wish someone had taught me computer hacking.

    ReplyDelete
  36. So Vickie you better give us some good matches and we'll keep you :P

    ReplyDelete
  37. They are building an entire show around Vickie fucking Guerrero.

    ReplyDelete
  38. rabbit season

    ReplyDelete
  39. I don't think they want it to... I think they want it to scream, "Hey Mad Men's over for the year so come watch us to get your drama TV filled!"

    ReplyDelete
  40. Better than Cena, Sheamus, Ryback....

    ReplyDelete
  41. That's a lie. WWE hasn't cared about the fans in 15 years.

    ReplyDelete
  42. cabspaintedyellowJuly 8, 2013 at 6:07 PM

I don't even think Eddie got a show built around him.

    ReplyDelete
  43. Sad story: HHH is tied for 3rd in most wins in Ladder matches in WWE History(not counting TLC and MitB)

    ReplyDelete
  44. cabspaintedyellowJuly 8, 2013 at 6:07 PM

Kane against anyone just triggers a weariness complex in me.

    ReplyDelete
  45. "Randy Ort'n!"

    ReplyDelete
  46. Okay, Punk-Orton and Bryan-Sheamus should be pretty sweet.

    ReplyDelete
  47. Ooo another Sheamus / Daniel Bryan match and Bryan's going to go over this time! I like this as a good way to start the show.

    ReplyDelete
  48. It seems that the company is more concerned with getting the booking of the matches over, rather than the matches themselves.

    ReplyDelete
  49. Outside of his tribute show, I think the only one MIGHT have been the Smackdown episode after he won the WWE Title

    ReplyDelete
  50. They should just revert Kane back to what he did in '97. Have him go away and then periodically show up and destroy people, only to get beaten in the end to put over a new talent.

    ReplyDelete
  51. so if the fans couldn't vote on her performance, there wouldn't be any matches?

    ReplyDelete
  52. Probably true. Although I think one of the drafts had a Eddie-Triple H match.

    ReplyDelete
  53. cabspaintedyellowJuly 8, 2013 at 6:08 PM

    http://www.memegeneokerlund.com/media/created/nayrfd.jpg

    ReplyDelete
  54. Isn't that Brock's job right now? Well as long as you replace putting over new talent with Triple H

    ReplyDelete
  55. I miss you, Shelton...

    ReplyDelete
  56. That segment just makes me want to see Shelton Benjamin

    ReplyDelete
  57. And there in lies the problem...

    ReplyDelete
  58. Another wasted night watching this.

    ReplyDelete
  59. Yet another guy TNA should have snatched up but were all like "Nah, that money is better spent on Ken Anderson and Devon"

    ReplyDelete
  60. asssphinctersayswhat?

    ReplyDelete
  61. It's really surreal seeing 1997 and the WWF saying "bring your signs, we LOVE free speech!" and then having Vince cut promos at the end of the year thanking the fans for watching the show. They need to bring that stuff back.

    ReplyDelete
  62. cabspaintedyellowJuly 8, 2013 at 6:11 PM

Monday Night Raw is the opposite of a thriving social life and plentiful intercourse.

    ReplyDelete
  63. They already have their version of Shelton in Kofi. I liked Shelton, but he sucked on the mic.

    ReplyDelete
  64. Does it count if your girlfriend is out of town for the next week?

    ReplyDelete
  65. Me too. I'd hoped the Wyatt's would open the show, but their debut, Punk-Orton, and Bryan-Sheamus means they've sucked me in, the fucks.

    ReplyDelete
  66. I got the intercourse done 10 minutes before the show started.

    ReplyDelete
  67. cabspaintedyellowJuly 8, 2013 at 6:12 PM

So did Ricky Steamboat, but they could have gotten similar mileage out of Shelton.

    ReplyDelete
  68. cabspaintedyellowJuly 8, 2013 at 6:12 PM

I bet that pre-show "match" got some great build.

    ReplyDelete
  69. You don't have a mistress?

    ReplyDelete
  70. I guess the ridiculous beard isn't going anywhere, seeing as how Bryan has a new shirt based on it.

    ReplyDelete
  71. well,it's this or watching Tudors with my family.

    ReplyDelete
  72. Gotta save it for a beard vs hair or something match down the line.

    ReplyDelete
  73. Sadly. Although they could have a heel get a hell of a lot of heat if they shave Bryan. At least shave his head and have him look like he did in 04 or whatever year that was

    ReplyDelete
  74. If this was an All star baseball team, Sheamus would be the guy fans voted in because he had a real swell season 3 seasons ago but the good memories are still fresh.

    ReplyDelete
  75. Job time Bryan. :(

    ReplyDelete
  76. cabspaintedyellowJuly 8, 2013 at 6:14 PM

    Totally
    Need
    Anderson

    ReplyDelete
  77. No way dude.

    ReplyDelete
  78. He's gotta go over. Right? RIGHT?!

    ReplyDelete
  79. Shelton was like three times the worker Kofi is though. If you take away the agile stunts, Shelton can still go. Kofi doesn't have much left.

    ReplyDelete
  80. cabspaintedyellowJuly 8, 2013 at 6:14 PM

The Tudors is outstandingly trashy television. I love it.

    ReplyDelete
  81. That dodging and clothesline were pretty awesome.

    ReplyDelete
  82. Man, if only I knew how to download an app...

    ReplyDelete
  83. Yeah shave the beard and have him look like everyone else...another generic white wrestler.

    ReplyDelete
  84. I laughed at that one Tweet that said Punk-Orton was a dream come true for them.

    ReplyDelete
  85. Did we really see a tweet saying Orton vs Punk is a dream come true? Did they not have a match at WM 26?

    ReplyDelete
  86. Jerry Lawler will tell you how without knowing what the hell is coming out of his mouth

    ReplyDelete
  87. the problem is not the series itself, its my mother obsession with henry cavill.

    ReplyDelete
  88. It's a double concussion finish!

    ReplyDelete
  89. Sheamus is such a good worker when he's got someone decent to guide him.

    ReplyDelete
  90. Bryan Danielson looks like quite the badass when shaven.

    ReplyDelete
  91. These two had awesome chemistry last year, but they seem weirdly out of synch so far here. Is Sheamus dogging it because he's doing the job?

    ReplyDelete
  92. I find it difficult to believe that these morons on twitter actually exists but then again, we saw the horror of touts.

    ReplyDelete
  93. I wonder if they'll do an RVD run in for a cop-out finish in one of these matches. Punk/Orton seems to be asking for it

    ReplyDelete
  94. Sheamus is getting all his offense during the break :P Yes I'm watching the stupid app.

    ReplyDelete
  95. Maybe so Punk can accuse RVD of being a Heyman Guy, brought in by Paul to cost him MITB? Gives Punk a mini-feud before Brock.

    ReplyDelete
  96. He just says "gaining momentum" to troll smarks at this point.

    ReplyDelete
  97. Man, Bryan's knees are going to be shot from all of the backflips and kip ups.

    ReplyDelete
  98. It could make Christian / Kane more exciting than it will be.

    ReplyDelete
  99. Nah, they're doing a good job of selling the idea of buying the PPV to see his return, no need to mess it up at the last minute.

    ReplyDelete
  100. Sheamus is "fella-ing" up.

    ReplyDelete
  101. If he doesn't break his brain from the suicide dives

    ReplyDelete
  102. Why would he need a mini-feud when he's facing Brock at Summerslam? Besides CM Punk vs Rob Van Dam with Paul E in the middle is a pretty solid program even in 2013.

    ReplyDelete
  103. WWE has an App?

    ReplyDelete
  104. Man that zoom camera during Sheamus' 10-count was making me sick

    ReplyDelete
  105. If you include him in the storyline it might get people more interested and that might get a few more buys. Right now if you're a casual fan, it just looks like he's showing up to do a few bumps, lose and never come back.

    ReplyDelete
  106. I don't think he does, but I don't think WWE is going to give Rob a 'main event' feud in 2013. But jobbing to Punk on Raw sounds about right.

    ReplyDelete
  107. That crowd must be chanting Yes! for Sheamus!

    ReplyDelete
  108. Much like most Shield matches.

    ReplyDelete
  109. Hey! Vickie Laurence is trending. Neat.

    ReplyDelete
  110. I'd use him to put over Adrian Neville as the new high flying king if I was the WWE

    ReplyDelete
  111. If Bryan ends up getting Brogue Kicked and kicks out, the fans will explode

    ReplyDelete
  112. He's pointing to that Benoit in the sky

    ReplyDelete
  113. Kudos to Charles Robinson for still being a WWE referee. I feel like they never last long anymore.

    ReplyDelete
  114. cabspaintedyellowJuly 8, 2013 at 6:27 PM

    "And that wasn't a true cash-in!"

    Shut up, JBL.

    ReplyDelete
  115. Little Naitch!

    ReplyDelete
  116. Dublin Cloverleaf!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  117. Bryan and Sheamus have beautiful chemistry.

    ReplyDelete
  118. Great match and awesome counter.

    ReplyDelete
  119. I'll be damned.

    ReplyDelete
  120. Excellent TV match!

    ReplyDelete
  121. My RVD booking:

Feud with Jericho with RVD going over to reestablish him in the WWE

Have him challenge anyone . . . Adrian Neville comes out, feuds with RVD, goes over and is established as the new High Flying King of Wrestling.

    ReplyDelete
  122. Fuck, he's so over.

    ReplyDelete
  123. I was wrong,awesome!

    ReplyDelete
  124. Don't worry fella, you've already won 600 matches this year.

    ReplyDelete
  125. Charles better go in the Hall of Fame oneday

    ReplyDelete
  126. Sheamus jobs less than Orton. Damn.

    ReplyDelete
  127. great match, great end. Daniel Bryan has such an awesome ability to make Sheamus look like one of the greats.

    ReplyDelete
  128. Brogue Kick him afterward, c'mon, that's what faces do

    ReplyDelete
  129. CAPS LOCK MAN, BITCHESJuly 8, 2013 at 6:29 PM

    SHEAMUS LOST A MATCH?!

    ReplyDelete
  130. You mean stevie richards.

    ReplyDelete
  131. I have no idea who that is.

    ReplyDelete
  132. I'm....shocked.

    ReplyDelete
  133. Holy shit, Sheamus didn't even try to get his heat back after the match!

    ReplyDelete
  134. Great match...good thing about 3 hour RAW, they give the matches time.

    ReplyDelete
  135. I liked that; it was pretty cool. I think that's the first time Bryan actually managedto get a win over Sheamus.

    ReplyDelete
  136. Look up PAC on youtube, he's pretty damn amazing.

    ReplyDelete
  137. the search for Cactus Jack continues...

    ReplyDelete
  138. So, the WWE is doing their own version of Deliverance. Great.

    ReplyDelete
  139. Guess which role Vince plays.

    ReplyDelete
  140. Great flyer, but suffers being a spot monkey sometimes.

    ReplyDelete
  141. They need Leslie Neilson

    ReplyDelete
  142. I'm kinda worried about the Pat Patterson scene that would naturally call for.

    ReplyDelete
  143. I heard he's lost in Cleveland somewhere.

    ReplyDelete
  144. Vignettes! Yes!

Damn, the Briscoes would be perfect for Wyatt's stable...

    ReplyDelete
  145. Does that mean Fandango's gonna be squealing like a pig soon? Or Miz?

    ReplyDelete
  146. He does, but WWE could use a spot monkey or two to be established, and he can have a good match if he's with someone who knows how to build one. Can't imagine how good Bryan/Neville could be.

    ReplyDelete
  147. These guys they're asking for directions were sitting next to me at the las t indy show i was at.

    ReplyDelete
  148. Sean Mooney doesn't need no stinking directions.

    ReplyDelete
  149. perfect idea.

    ReplyDelete
  150. They better actually debut, a pre-tape where they Heidenrape a documentary guy... is not a debut

    ReplyDelete
  151. Vince probably just saw it last week.

    ReplyDelete
  152. Tonight on Monday Night Raw we go undercover at a sex farm for sex hookers!

Reporter - Where do you keep the hookers?

Bray Wyatt - Round Back, whoops!

I read this to "Bangin' On A Trashcan" from Doug.

    ReplyDelete
  157. Also, -CAPS LOOK MAN

    ReplyDelete
  158. What would happen if someone used one of the MITB ladders to point at the WrestleMania sign?

    ReplyDelete
  159. Bryan beat Sheamus

    ReplyDelete
  160. You're just in time for Kane vs Christian! Enjoy!

    ReplyDelete
  161. First time I've watched raw in a few months, that was a pretty good opening match! Wish the commentators had attempted to call it...

    ReplyDelete
  162. ramdom thought, but I would love to AJ as Harley Quinn.

    ReplyDelete
  163. Sheamus jobbed clean to Bryan, and the Rapture.

    ReplyDelete
  164. Never cross the streams.

    ReplyDelete
  165. It can't be THAT bad... could it?

    ReplyDelete
  166. Sable meanwhile is bathing in Cristal and shits diamonds. Dammit Tammy!

    ReplyDelete
  167. I cannot be bored with AJ,oops.

    ReplyDelete

  171. Someone tell him about the twinkie.

    ReplyDelete

    ReplyDelete
  181. They really blew their wad early with this John Cena/Mark Henry program, the initial angle is hall of fame worthy but since then....

    ReplyDelete

    ReplyDelete
