Scott Steiner in WWE?

Scott,

What are the odds we'll see:

A). Scott Steiner return to the WWE as a wrestler?

and/or

B). Scott Steiner in the WWE Hall Of Fame within the next 5 years?

Hmm, that calls for some high-level math.  Let me consult someone.

I think that should give you all the answers needed.

Can't believe Steiner didn't win that match. The numbers weren't supposed to lie :(

  2. That's gotta be a top 5 promo ever right there.

  3. The Steiners as a Tag team should be inducted. The amount of NWA/WCW talent not in, is criminal

I still contend that's the greatest wrestling related video on the internet. Possibly just flat out greatest video. Beating out former number one, the Corny-multi-face vid from Botchamania. Sorry, Matt. You understand, right?

  5. You can never say never, but given that Steiner has a reputation for being roid-raged psychotic prima donna, and since his last WWE appearance was a complete bust....the odds aren't great.

I don't think he is worthy of induction as a singles wrestler, but the Steiner Brothers are definitely deserving as a tag-team.

  6. Scott Steiner's run in WWE around in 2003 was completely awful, but Steiner got to be cool again in the 2006-2010 period. Sadly Steiner is probably too old to make a comeback now.

  7. LMAO. I remember this promo but never saw this Youtube vid. This is awesome.

In the end, it just didn't add up.

  11. Maybe he didn't carry the 1.

    ReplyDelete
  12. As long as Kurt Angle doesn't try then he should have a pretty good chance

    ReplyDelete
  13. Possibly the greatest wrestling related video on youtube.

    ReplyDelete
  14. I like how they put together that video to make fun of Scott Steiner's idiocy and then proceeded to spell 'Samoa' wrong.

    ReplyDelete
  15. I would pay so much money to see Scott Steiner destroy John Cena.

    ReplyDelete
  16. Or it could be that Steiner pronounced it as SOmoa Joe...

    ReplyDelete
  17. Whoever made that YouTube video of the promo deserves to be in the Hall of Fame.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Do the Steiner Brothers tag team belong in the Hall of Fame?

    ReplyDelete
  19. Steiner would make such an awesome manager. No other wrestler makes me watch just to see what he's going to say like Scott does.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Roids? Heavens no. No, no, no. He's just a genetic freak.

    ReplyDelete
  21. So all along Scott Steiner should have been doing either The Genius gimmick or the Dean Douglas gimmick.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Ok, I'm laughing at my desk picturing Steiner in Poffo's "Genius" outfit trying to read poetry.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Hey, hey - would you correct Steiner on his spelling?

    ReplyDelete
  24. He could've ended every one of them with:

"If you wish to judge my poetry,
I care not for your critiques,
For all that matters are my peaks and my freaks."

    ReplyDelete
  25. Hey, what about him throwing frisbees out into the crowd? Piss him off and that would HURT!

  29. Yeah it's intentional

  30. You win the internet for the day.

  31. And manthongs!!!

  32. I know it shouldn't matter, but I care about whether or not my favourite athletes/celebrities are nice/cool people. I love Lebron cause he seems like a genuinely good guy (that clip of him tackling the fan who hit the half-court shot is exhibit A), and dislike Sean Penn cause of all the stories of him being a prick.

Scott Steiner is a mean-spirited, cruel, rude, misogynistic asshole. If I had to deal with him in real life I'd probably hate his guts. I've dealt with people like him and would never want to associate with them any more than I had to.

    But...

I love this guy. Sometimes if I'm in a bad mood I'll go Youtube the 7 min. "best of Scott Steiner" (personal favourite moment: near the end when he goes off on that rant about that "fat sumbitch" Samoa Joe and Angle has to calm him down. Steiner stops, there's a pregnant pause before he lets out one final exasperated "HE"S FAT!" in protest). I guess it's okay to be a prick as long as you can make people laugh.

  33. I think I broke the upvote button for that.

(There's a gimmick that needs to return.)

    ReplyDelete
  34. I would totally pay to see Scott Steiner and Damien Sandow in a tag team of intellectual saviors.

    ReplyDelete
  35. He does enough roids to get 5 dudes ripped.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Multi-face Corny is still my favorite with this one a close second.

    ReplyDelete
  37. The only thing better than this is Scott Steiner doing ring announcing...

"REDNECKS AND WHITE TRASH, LISTEN UP!"

    ReplyDelete
  38. "Your chances of winning drastic go down". Well said Steiner, well said.

I always picture him getting confused counting his reps and sets while working out.

    ReplyDelete
  39. I think Scott Steiner could fix the U.S. economy situation.

    ReplyDelete
  40. That was awesome. Can't script that shit. Real wrestling promo there.

  42. Scott Steiner vs The English Language is another great YouTube video of his promos, but this may have to be the best.

    ReplyDelete
  43. He could be "The Steiner Adviser"!

    ReplyDelete
  44. Was it Lebron that flopped/cheated and then winked for the camera that made him so nice, was it when he said he liked being the villain, or was it when he and Wade made fun out of Dirk that made you think he was a class act? Maybe it was the exposing article on his lifestyle that was immediately pulled down by ESPN that really pushed his niceness over the edge. Just a little confused on how the petulant child act that he's been throwing out there for the last decade makes him "good."

    ReplyDelete
  45. Spike Dudley could help him out with the Shakespearian sonnets.

    ReplyDelete
  46. I am not saying he is not the best player in the game... because he is. He's just not very likeable by superstar standards.

    ReplyDelete
  47. i love Scott Steiner, the most unprofessional professional wrestler of all time. happy 50th birthday to Big Poppa Pump

    ReplyDelete
  48. Steiner ring announcing with Chet Lemon and Black Snow commentating...most enjoyable Impact iv ever watched.

    ReplyDelete
  49. THe multi face Corny was fucking genius.

But I do agree, this promo further solidified that Steiner is great on the mic.

  50. I'm not going to begrudge anyone for disliking Lebron James, but the stuff you mentioned doesn't make me think he's not a good person, no. Do I wish he didn't flop, yeah I do, but I'm also aware *every* player in the league flops/embellishes on occasion to get calls (even "high character" guys like Duncan/Nowitzki). The stuff mocking Dirk's cough was childish (and calculated since they made sure to do it front of the cameras) for sure, but let's be real. Dirk Nowitzki had the FLU, this wasn't 2 guys mocking a man with multiple sclerosis. They thought he faked/exaggerated it, just like a lot of people think Jordan was just hungover during The Flu Game. Anytime a player in any sport is sidelined with "the flu" it's met with a degree of skepticism. It's a point in the 'CON' column, but not a significant one in my book.

Listen, the guy's not infallible. He's had his missteps (mocking Dirk, leaving the court early without shaking hands, THE DECISION). I don't think it's reasonable to expect someone to always say/do the "right" thing, but it *is* reasonable to expect them to learn from their mistakes and grow as a person. And I can't see anyone saying that Lebron James in 2013 isn't a much different guy than Lebron James in 2010 (or 2011). He's been humbled, he's been left for dead (people were ready to blow up the Heat before Game 6 at Boston) and I think it's made him a better man.

Ultimately for me, the good outweighs the bad. I'll counter your criticisms with the fact that (to my knowledge) none of his former teammates reported disliking the guy. He plays an unbelievably unselfish brand of basketball designed to make his team better, often to the detriment of his own stats (he could easily play hero ball and average 35 a night). He took a gutsy stand in the aftermath of the Trayvon Martin shooting (something Jordan wouldn't have touched with a 10-foot pole). And COME ON, how can you watch the half-court shot hug video and not find it extremely endearing? That's pure, authentic, unbridled joy for a complete stranger's good fortune. It is my experience that bad people don't react like that in those situations.

tl;dr: there's a lot of good, and the bad ain't so bad (IMO)

  51. It would win so hard.

Steiner on DDP: "While you're in the hospital on your back, screaming in pain, your wife will be on her back, screaming my name".

How does that kind of poetry not deserve its own gimmick?

Dude, love the avatar. Final Fight was my GAME when I was a kid. As an adult, I still love it, and still remember how pissed I was when the SNES port only had Cody & Haggar, no Guy, who was my favorite. I also like to think about the game in real life. You're driving along, and suddenly you think "Wait...is that the City Mayor, shirtless, pile-driving a gang member? Did he just eat an entire turkey he found in a burned out oil drum?"
