The Main Event review

Old Konami game that apparently got pulled for copyright issues, although I've heard from folks who've played it.

Another one I've never heard of, although I would have been all over it in the arcade if I knew about it at the time.

  9. Holy shit I played this game. I enjoyed it too. Obviously at the time I didn't really know anything about copyright infringement. But I remember thinking that it was some kind of rip off of WWF. I remember liking it better than the WWF arcade game but it just disappeared. Now I know why.

  10. did you never go to any arcades or what? I saw this game everywhere I went scotty!
used to love it! all you need to do is bang on the big button. the strategy with the least effort, was use the luchador and drain his energy down via the figure 4 leg lock, and then pin him. fastest way to win. he and ricky, had the T kick, that was how you trick the game into taking damage, it seemed to have a longer range then hogan's front leg kick or was it more movement to get away...
anyways. knock them down, and leg lock, and bang on the action button to make him submit... that was basically the game...
shoulda took you out to arcades more often.. but by the time we met... there wasnt much left for arcades.

  11. They had this and "Wardner" in a hallway at the local Wal-Mart for what seemed like forever.

  12. Yes I remember this game quite well too! And caught onto the WWF copies easily, of course. In retrospect, I know San Antonio Smasher was supposed to be Koko, but didn't he look more like Iceman King Parsons to anyone else?

How about Mat Mania? Any fans of that?
