TNA Pulls Scheduled Main Event from Hardcore Justice

The scheduled match, which was to feature a 5-on-5 match between Aces & Eights and the Main Event Mafia, wit the loser leaving TNA. The Storyline explanation for this was displayed on Twitter when Dixie Carter told us the decision was made after she met with Hulk Hogan.

  1. Well that pretty much seals the Bryan win. Of course, I fully expect an Orton cash in the following night. I bet Cena is back by Survivor Series.

    ReplyDelete
  2. Ugh wtf is TNA doing?

    ReplyDelete
  3. Cena will work a match DURING surgery

    ReplyDelete
  4. Bouncing checks? Firing talent? Making generally poor business decisions? Only one way to know for sure #AskDixie

    ReplyDelete
  5. 3 months ago I was really behind TNA and what they were doing with their storylines. 3 months later and now personally they can go suck a massive donkey dick for all I care. TNA really seemed to be moving away from their 'take one step forwards only to take several back' reputation they had with smart fans and now they are falling right back into it.

    ReplyDelete
  6. Is it really that hard to shoot an old Horsemen-style skit where Aces attack Angle somewhere outside a wrestling venue, ala the Horsemen breaking Dusty's leg? You just sub someone into Angle's spot.

    ReplyDelete
  7. Solution to TNA's ratings and money problem...GET RID OF THE ACES & EIGHTS! It's been almost two years now. They aren't getting over. They won't get over. You are losing viewers with this crappy biker gang of jobbers. Get rid of them. Get back to having a different WRESTLING product with quality matches and talent. Use the $ saved on releasing the Aces and sign the American Wolves and a couple other talent to solidify the X-Division and tag division. Put the X-Division back to singles matches allowed.

    ReplyDelete
  8. Angle is in rehab, I believe.

    ReplyDelete
  9. Okay, then find a moderately buff bald dude and shoot it so we never see his face.

    ReplyDelete
  10. Attack him AT the rehab clinic.. that has potential... Do SOMETHING different..

    ReplyDelete
  11. Damn, how fucked up is his elbow that he has to get surgery on it again a year later?

    ReplyDelete
  12. TNA just won't let that Aces thing go. And now Bully's getting the belt back on Thursday so they can continue the storyline until OCTOBER. Like I said, I just can't watch anymore.

    ReplyDelete
  13. SUPER CENA DOESN'T SWEAT ANESTHESIA!

    ReplyDelete
  14. What were the Aces supposed to get if they won? Anything? And the "storyline explanation" isn't really an explanation when it's just "Cuz we say so" (unless it comes from Stone Cold). Basically, it comes off as Hogan doesn't have faith in the Mafia to get the job done, so we'll come up with something else.

    ReplyDelete
  15. The explanation gives them time to create something due to Angle being in rehab. Either way, Aces & Eights is awful.

    ReplyDelete
  16. Could always have used his brother Eric or that MMA guy that had a few year back who looked like Angle.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Hell, get rid of A&8, Hogan (both of them), Bischoff (both of them), and all the other useless crap. Focus on the talent, Daniels, AJ, Joe, Kaz, etc and go back to being a good show.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Did Bruce Pritchard put a voodoo hex on TNA? Man this is depressing.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Maybe Cena actually will tap out then? And they can say that Bryan pulled the Yes Lock too hard and actually separated his elbow or some nonsense?

    ReplyDelete
  20. You know what Cena needs to really overcome the odds? A new Doomsday Cage. Then he can plow through three stories of internet darlings (Bryan, Punk, Lesnar, Ziggler, Henry, Cesaro, Christian, Sandow, Kidd, The Shield and The Wyatt Family) en route to victory. Hell, give him Zakk Ryder as a tag team partner, then have Ryder leave a minute in due to being crushed by an ambulance or something.

    ReplyDelete
  21. They should've had Ace vs. MEM losing group disbands and have the Mafia win at Hardcore Justice.

Bully wins the belt from Sabin and Bully goes back to being his gimmick a couple years ago where he's just well...a Bully.

    ReplyDelete
  22. But how does that get HHH over?

    ReplyDelete
  23. Bully doesn't need the Aces and Eights to stay over. He should dump the group.

Is there a babyface over enough to beat him for the belt in October? AJ Styles?

    ReplyDelete
  24. Cena will refuse to tap out and Triple H will stop the match and award the victory to bryan *head desk*

    ReplyDelete
  25. Well keep Bully as a singles wrestler, he is kinda awesome nowadays, the rest of the Aces can go though.

    ReplyDelete
  26. 1. Don't get your hopes up, whether he jobs to Bryan or not cenas not missing one episode of raw.

    2. I felt like TNA was about to explode when the show was centered around Austin Aries and Bobby Roode. I didn't even care that Aries did the job to Hardy because Jeff is worth pushing too. But to bury all those guys in the mid card so you can focus your show around the worst heel stable in history (sorry, at least there was no mystery to unmasking the dungeon of doom). I am convinced Austin Aries could have been a major break out star and be as big as punk or d bry but TNA completely 100% fucked it up. And then they ran this garbage ass aces n 8's story line. I watched TNA for almost 8 months in a row at that point but I don't even bother dvring the show anymore because it sucks so bad.

if cena is getting surgery, and dbry wins the title, then it raises the question of whether drby is getting the title ONLY cause cena needs time off

getting the onto orton could come at the expense of either guy, tho. so i guess we'll just have to wait and see how it plays out

    ReplyDelete
  28. Your_Favourite_AssholeAugust 13, 2013 at 11:55 AM

'Don't get your hopes up, whether he jobs to Bryan or not cenas not missing one episode of raw.'

just like that time he was fired during the nexus angle. he cut an impassioned farewell speech and said he was gonna be gone for a while...

and then ran in from the crowd the next week

    ReplyDelete
  33. No, he ran in later that night

    ReplyDelete
  34. Your_Favourite_AssholeAugust 13, 2013 at 11:58 AM

yeah but he was back on the show the next week, tho, right

    ReplyDelete
  35. I don't really understand the point of them. They rarely wrestle and none of them speak — aside from Bully and Anderson. Why not just trim the fat and just have the focus on Bully.

    ReplyDelete
  36. The company will not collapse if Cena goes off to have surgery and returns in a few months. After SS, it's pretty dead anyways. Give the guy his much deserved rest and let others shine in his absence without his shadow looming around.

    ReplyDelete
  37. This was bound to happen with how frequently Cena did the "You can't see me" gesture. It might not have been so bad if he'd incorporated his wrist into the peek-a-boo motion rather than putting the full rotation on his elbow. The sad part is that we're going to continue to see workers hurt themselves like this until they learn to protect their joints and stop using such senselessly extreme hand signals to pop the live crowds night after night. This is the worst taunt related injury since Randy Orton dislocated his shoulder doing his snake dance.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Maybe Daffney did. Wouldn't blame her.

    ReplyDelete
  39. What's funny is it appears it's his left arm with the injury and if memory serves, he only does the "you can't see me" gesture with his right hand. Quick, someone ask Brie Bella for clarification.

    ReplyDelete
  40. (WARNING: ANGRY SARCASM AHEAD! You have been warned.)

Why waste all that talent... buy out TNA and have Cena and Orton destroy anyone who has ever wrestled in TNA. Finish with a flurry of AAs and RKOs to Bully, Aries, Roode, Styles, Angle, and Joe. Oh, and Sting gets Tombstoned at the entrance by UT, just because.

    ReplyDelete
  41. As long as they get rid of Anderson. He adds nothing to the show and is so boring. I hated him in WWE and he's never improved. At least Bully got better over time and is a credible star. I don't see why they need Wes, Garrett, Anderson, Devon or Knox. Fire them and rehire some knockouts and rebuild the damn division. The Knockouts used to be the best part of TNA, now they have like 4 of 5 left (Mickie, Gail, Velvet, ODB, Tessmacher). That's a far cry from back a few years ago when they had Kong, Angelina, Madison, Sarita, Rosita, Cheerleader Melissa, Rahka Khan, Sojo and Roxxi among others.

  42. Setting up Cena-HHH at WrestleMania

    ReplyDelete
  43. Correct me if I'm wrong but hasn't the only time Cena has missed any shows was when he was injured and came back as the surprise #30? I suck at remembering years.

    ReplyDelete
  44. I get that, but the BFG series stuff has been good IMO. I just FFWD through Aces and Hogan.

  64. Well Devon's there to have tag matches with Bully now and then, the rest are just there so they are a faction and have enough members. Knox is the fault of the IWC, as the IWC sure was upset when WWE cut him. Wes/Garrett is a Bischoff project, but both suck on the mic and in the ring. Anderson was added to give the group some cred since TNA has positioned him as an upper-card wrestler for years now, even though he can't wrestle and his promos got repetitive and stale. Best part of Aces&Eights has been the few times it has kept Tazz from the announcers booth, having JB and Tenay a couple weeks ago was a real upgrade to my ears.

    ReplyDelete
  65. Oh my god. I'm suddenly terrified of this happening.

    ReplyDelete
  66. Just in case you were hoping that the Total Divas thing would be going away any time soon...not likely happening. From the Observer site:

"Total Divas, whatever you think of the show, is proving to be a very successful television vehicle with the audience growing every week.

The third show on Sunday did 1.67 million viewers, up from 1.53 million from last week."

    ReplyDelete
  67. Sorry bout your damned luck.

    ReplyDelete
  68. He wasn't booked on some last year. At least on the HitC PPV and I swear there was another...

    ReplyDelete
  69. The Internet would explode!

    ReplyDelete
  70. In two weeks, Total Divas has increased its fanbase more than TNA has ever done in almost eight years on Spike TV.

    ReplyDelete
  71. No clue, but the damn thing has looked horrifying the last two weeks.

    ReplyDelete
  72. Yeah, that one I could actually see. I'm torn on whether I'd prefer that to a roll up win (let's be honest, there's no way Cena is ACTUALLY tapping out..."NEVER GIVE UP!" remember?). Bryan essentially messing up Cena's arm to the point where the ref has to stop the match is more dominant than a fluke roll up win, but also, it'd undoubtedly be used to put HHH in the spotlight too, with Cena pissed that HHH stopped the match.

Ideally I'd like to see an actual tap out, but that's not happening.

    ReplyDelete
  73. And remember Triple H stopped a match involving Orton/Bryan just a couple weeks ago.

    ReplyDelete
  74. I think you're thinking of TLC 2011.

He wasn't off TV though. He happened to not have a match at the PPV, but I don't think he missed any TV.

    ReplyDelete
  75. I guess it'd raise the question, but I honestly think he'll win it either way. There are a ton of ways this whole thing could go, with Orton cashing in, not cashing in, HHH being involved, Vince, Orton going heel, etc etc., but pretty much all of them need Bryan to win the title. Cena winning doesn't do anything for anyone, the whole Vince/HHH storyline is about Bryan, not Cena, and Orton cashing in on a Cena who just beat Bryan is going to get him cheered by half the audience, not booed. Tons of ways to go with it, some great, some awful, but they all start with Bryan winning. if Cena retains, I honestly don't see where they go next month. Cena vs who?

    ReplyDelete
  76. Oh, you're thinking of "John Cena Bella".

    ReplyDelete
  77. No, prowrestling.net says the match is happening on the following iMPACT...meaning that the match is still happening at the taping that very night, they just aren't airing it live.

    ReplyDelete
  78. That's not a solution to TNA's ratings and money problem, any more than the solution to putting out a house fire being throwing away the cigarette that caused it.

You want to go back to a time when the ratings...still sucked.

    ReplyDelete
  79. I knew that Cena had to be in bad shape when he missed the house show before RAW.

Maybe we get less than five minutes out of him at Summerslam, and end up with a LONG MitB match cash in between Daniel Bryan and Randy Orton when Vince forces Orton to cash in without a great advantage?

    ReplyDelete
  80. To be fair, Vince Russo has never been involved with Total Divas.

    ReplyDelete
  81. Or Tito Ortiz from behind.

    ReplyDelete
  82. I like the cut of your jib!

    ReplyDelete
  83. I know what will fix the problem: split off some of the A&8's into a splinter group to feud with.

    Baccarat!

    ReplyDelete
  84. I agree, if Cena beats Bryan, then Orton cashes in, the pop will be HUMONGOUS, almost even matching the pop if Daniel Bryan wins. I know some people here don't like the sound of this, but on some nights, Randy Orton gets the biggest pop out of anyone on the roster. So if they want to turn Randy Orton a heel with any momentum, if would have to be if Bryan won...(assuming they want to turn Randy Orton...)

    ReplyDelete
  85. I think they have to. They have nothing for top heels right now. It's Del Rio and that's it (and even he is not booked like other top guys). They badly need a top heel, and since they're obviously not turning Cena, Orton fits that the best.

    ReplyDelete
  86. He will have retroactive involvement when he books himself to be Jojo's father.

    ReplyDelete
  87. Isn't that the only reason Bret Hart got the title?

It's not the way the opportunity comes about that matter. It's what you do with it that counts.

    ReplyDelete
  88. The guy who gets pinned has to leave TNA that night and the other 9 guys get fired the next morning. It's a Yappapi Pink Slip Match, brother!!!

    ReplyDelete
  89. Meh...why would anyone want that show to go away, it's harmless. It does nothing for the product, but at the same time it does nothing to the product. If they start centering world title programs around it (which i feared with Dbry/Cena) then i would understand but as it stands its a fun little distraction for those who like that sort of thing.

    ReplyDelete
  90. I know he loves being the company man, but seriously the man needs a good couple of months off, not just for us but the guy is going to fall apart in a couple of years if he works that hard.

Not saying he doesn't have any down time (and with the amount of money he has, his down time must be real good) but seriously I didn't realise the guy has been working with a golfball embedded into his elbow for a while now.

    ReplyDelete
  91. too late, it's cena fighting on behalf of Vince for control of the company against HHH for the WWE title.

    ReplyDelete
  92. At least that means Bryan & Punk will get to carry the show for a while without the John Cena Show

    ReplyDelete
  93. They do get more time as they get an extra show to come up with an explanation.

    ReplyDelete
  94. Had they kept him face and had him do a tag team with Hogan in WM 8 to get the rub as the next big superhero....fuck he could have been a money machine.

    ReplyDelete
  95. Okay, I thought were talking about playing for time to get Angle into the match.

    ReplyDelete
  96. Assuming Punk survives his match with Lesnar

    ReplyDelete
  97. FUCK! THAT'S THE FINISH!!

    ReplyDelete
  98. One of my biker buddies got into the show but when his mom got him an SOA shirt for xmas he couldn't bring himself to wear it during bike season, especially since he doesn't ride with a club and he'd just look like a tool.

    ReplyDelete
  99. Thumbs up to the Shimmer avatar.

    ReplyDelete
  100. Scream09_HartKillerAugust 13, 2013 at 8:54 PM

I respect your friend. Not looking like a tool isn't a virtue many people around here have. I'll give some credit to the guys who decided to start referring to themselves as a club because of SOA instead of simply wearing SOA gear.

    ReplyDelete
  101. Eventually they're going to have to stick Bischoff and Brisco in a crate marked "To OVW", right?

    ReplyDelete
  102. I do not remember Knox's time as an internet darling at all. Are you confusing him with Luke Gallows?

    ReplyDelete
  103. Frank Mir always did seem like an extra Kurt Angle they had lying around when he was appearing in TNA, so that's probably the best possible use of him.

    ReplyDelete
  104. No. They killed any potential with Styles. I'm fearing its going to be Hulkamania running wild at which point I think it's time to pull the plug on the promotion.

    ReplyDelete
  105. They have a few weeks left of the Bound for Glory tournament, they need to pick a guy they have faith in (Storm? Styles? Samoa Joe?) and just have him run through the remaining field, Golberg-Squash style, to build up enough momentum to beat Bully Ray.

    ReplyDelete
  106. Anderson is my least favorite wrestler of all time.

    ReplyDelete
  107. wouldn't expect less from the Master and Ruler of the World

    ReplyDelete
  108. Is Cena really that bad, though? Yeah, he gets his one segment on just about RAW (maybe 2 if it's a promo + a match), but it's not like the heyday of the McMahons or even Triple H's reign where he's present from beginning to middle to end -- opening the show with a promo then popping up backstage a couple of times and then closing the show.

    ReplyDelete
  109. The hell does Jim Neidhart have to do with this?

    ReplyDelete
  110. Agreed. I actually like the show -- not only is it something wrestling-related I can watch with my wife that doesn't make her leave the room, but it also shows some interesting behind-the-scenes stuff about the lives of wrestlers (even if some may be scripted). I thought it was cool seeing Bryan's home in Aberdeen and Cena's palace in Florida, and seeing how some guys are when they're not in character.

    ReplyDelete
  111. No, I'm not saying Cena ruins the show by any means. I just think it will be interesting to see people other than Cena carrying things for a while. Cena has been omnipresent for a decade now.
