Wyatt Family in Line for a Huge Push?

The stable is a HHH project right now and many believe that they being groomed to take over the spot that The Shield hold. Apparently, there is talk between those in the company of moving The Shield down the card due to injuring the Undertaker and their confrontation with Randy Orton backstage at a house show.

  1. Haha, Meltzer is going to stick with his Shield story until they finally are shunted down the card and he can be say, see, I told you!

  2. Sources indicate the Shield will job to Zack Ryder in a 3 on 1 handicap match because Seth Rollins farted backstage, stealing Natalya's gimmick.

Great. Not saying it to sound fucked up but she was a decent in the ring. Now she won't be around and we'll be stuck with Velvet Sky matches again.

    MY BAD!

    ReplyDelete
  7. So who's the father of the baby? I mean, I'm sure Drew is afraid to come back into the house still.

    ReplyDelete
  8. I did it too! Groupthink!

    ReplyDelete
  9. I'm ok with the Wyatt Family coming up, but wouldn't feuding with the shield make the most sense? Even if the Wyatts prevailed. I mean. It doesn't make a lot of sense.

    ReplyDelete
  10. He must've been choked when they closed the show the other week, standing tall.

    ReplyDelete
  11. I remember when the Shield would never the be the same, and then beat the shit out of Mark Henry that night.

    ReplyDelete
  12. Consistently shocked Orton has any kind of pull. He's a whiny little douche who's at times as sloppy as the people he shows up in the ring. A jackass in interviews with a sense of self entitlement that boggles the mind for an awol dickhead. And he's been on cruise control for years now whether not happy about his push, his face/heel status, waiting for a third strike or whatever. It's a shame Taker/JBL aren't locker room regulars any more. I'd imagine Orton'd have his share of soapy shower fun time, third gen or not.

silly womens! when will you ever learn?

    ReplyDelete
  14. I'm happy for DDP. I hope that's a positive piece and others can be inspired by what he's been able to do.

    ReplyDelete
  15. Uh what confrontation?

    ReplyDelete
  16. Unintended consequences of stopping him from shitting in bags.

    ReplyDelete
  17. I loathe Orton, LOATHE him. BUT he's apparently liked by Triple H, he's third generation, he's got a good look, and he consistently draws a pop. If he didn't have two strikes I can't imagine the kind of push he'd be getting right now. I went to see Raw live in Richmond in June and the most over guy there was Daniel Bryan followed closely by Randy Orton.

    ReplyDelete
  18. I've been cautious about getting behind DDP because so far Jake and Hall have not had to stay clean out Page's place but after listening to Hall on Austin's podcast I'm a little more optimistic.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Wyatt's vs. Shield going all Freebirds vs. Von Erichs, Nation vs. DX, or Horsemen vs. Dungeon of Doom...I know that would put me in a high-fiving mood. Who's with me? (Holds up palm)

    ReplyDelete
  20. Lol meltzer. Here is the plan! Unless something else happens! Then they changed their minds! But I'm definitely not wrong!

    ReplyDelete
  21. Apparently there was a blown spot at a live show and Reigns confronted Orton backstage and they got into an argument. It's been said Rollins tried to keep Reigns from doing it as it would rub people the wrong way. I don't see why the entire Shield would get punished instead of just Reigns but there you go.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Can't leave a brother hanging. The idea of Ambrose and Wyatt doing a promo against each other gives me goosebumps.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Weasel words FTW!

    ReplyDelete
  24. Even WWE marks on Twitter were calling for Wyatt's vs Shield when they debuted. I expect it to happen at some point. Probably over the tag belts.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Darren Young should make you feel a little less cautious.

    ReplyDelete
  26. I would say that The Undertaker is responsible for his own injuries at this point, what with the whole being a giant 48-year-old with a rich injury history who still comes back and agrees to bump in at least one spot heavy match each year. How can you ask someone to powerpomb him through a table and then get mad when he's not totally okay afterward?

    ReplyDelete
  27. What else can they be but shunted down the card? Unless they started feuding for the WHC or WWE title they had nowhere to go but down.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Exactly my point.

    ReplyDelete
  29. To paraphrase Happy Gilmore: "But he's an old man. I mean, look at him. He's old. You can't just expect him to get powerbombed through a table and not get hurt. He's too old"

    ReplyDelete
  30. Taryn is (was?) turning into a good wrestler for sure. Her matches with Gail were quite good.

  32. What a wonderful sport we follow! Stand up for yourself and get punished.

  33. Didn't Orton get Kennedy fired for messing up a spot? Didn't Kofi get de-pushed after missing a spot with Orton. So it's OK for Orton to confront people (and fire people) about it, but how dare a lowly rookie do the same!? Btw, you don't fuck with the Samoans--ever.

    cant say i'm surprised

    ReplyDelete
  35. JBL was very well known in the late 90's through 07 for being the locker room bully/hazer for rookies. There are known cases of him doing rather odd things to new guys (such as attempting to shower a new WWF wrestler to see if they complain/break or just flat out being a school yard bully, slapping people, stiffing guys, or running his mouth). He really was a dick then.

    ReplyDelete
  36. The only way you could be any more of a troll would be to make your posts from under a bridge.

    ReplyDelete
  37. There are MYRIAD reasons to have fired Ken Anderson. But yeah, the WWE is weird and inconsistent about that stuff.

Orton's a guy who I have zero respect or admiration for in any regard. I think he's a mediocre-at-best wrestler, he has never made anyone else look good, he's a C- on the mic, and he might be the worst top guy ever at improvising or dealing with adversity in a match (see his "STUPID! STUPID! STUPID!" breakdown or having to ask Sheamus for his line earlier this year). He got over after having been pushed relentlessly for over five years despite being injury-prone and having two strikes.

    ReplyDelete
  38. That's why you always gotta wear a bag.

    ReplyDelete
  39. Thank you. This is why I cannot understand why ending the streak would be even kayfabe a big deal at this point. The guy is basically one bad bump away from being crippled. How is it at all impressive to beat him when he's at the last ebbs of his career?

    ReplyDelete
  40. I would say that WWE fired Kennedy for a bunch of reasons, the last of which was him blowing a big spot in a Raw match against Orton and nearly breaking his neck.

    ReplyDelete
  41. AND a hypocrite when you consider the grudge he held against Tully Blanchard for hazing him.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Because you do something no one had ever done. It's the same reason a win over Andre was a big deal even when he could barely move. Plus, Taker can still bring it for one match a year.

    ReplyDelete
  43. Please stop trolling me.

    ReplyDelete
  44. YankeesHoganTripleHFanAugust 15, 2013 at 2:14 PM

Fair enough. I actually don't think hazing is THAT terrible a thing but the shower stuff is just creepy and weird.

  49. Isn't that what you said when you predicted the Miz wrestling Taker at Wrestlemania and Lesnar at Summerslam?

    ReplyDelete
  50. And you're still missing the point.

    ReplyDelete
  51. The point being that you're a hypocrite and a troll?

    ReplyDelete
  52. JBL talked about it and even went at Tully hard in '06 when Tully came in as an agent.

    ReplyDelete
  53. Some of it is okay, but a lot of the crap that goes on is excessive and unprofessional.

    ReplyDelete

  58. The guy who played the network executive on smackdown (palmer cannon?) allegedly raped--some girl so jbl faux shower raped him as punishment

    ReplyDelete
  59. Do you understand that Dave Meltzer established himself as the most knowledgeable wrestling insider by reporting on wrestling when no one else would for over *30* years? He doesn't get everything right, just like the beat reporter for your favorite sports team (I'm guessing it's a WNBA team?) and for the exact same reason -- there's a lot the people in charge don't want EVERYONE to know. You are knocking the guy like he's some punk behind a messge board, but the reality is he has an established network of contacts in the business, people in the WWE (and every major promotion of the last, again, *30* years) read and react to what he writes.

    ReplyDelete
  60. Taryn reminded me of Trish Stratus, the super hot diva that surprised everyone by how quickly she picked up wrestling.

And another shot to TNA as they lose like 25% of the KO division.

    ReplyDelete

    ReplyDelete
  63. Wrestling etiqutte is odd to me. Old man who could turn to dust at any time agrees to take big bump. He gets hurt. Wrestlers that give the bump get in trouble. Would be like if he did the suicide dive he teased at WM into Punk and got hurt, and Punk was blamed for it.

    ReplyDelete
  64. Yeah, and Edge wrote about his own JBL soaping experience in his book, too.

    ReplyDelete
  65. I do think its time to break up Shield as they've run their course as a team, but fuck Orton so hard. Anderson had a bunch of other reasons, and Kofi was being tested to see if he could hang. But The Shield had a lot of time and effort put into getting them over, and they have a huge upside and are the future of the business. Orton is a past-his-prime whineass. Seriously, unless Orton is personally gifting millions of people PPVs, why the fuck should what he thinks backstage have anything to do with what we see on TV? Who fucking cares what that orange leech thinks, if the guyE make for good TV? Fuck him. Taker too, he's too goddamn broken down for those kinda bumps and he should know it.

I really hope whatever number 2 company supplants TNA can give at least some hope for talented guys that aren't gonna do much in WWE, because I hate when good wrestlers ride the pine for years just because there isn't room for them in WWE and they didn't kiss the right asses.

    ReplyDelete
  66. "The stable is a HHH project right now and many believe that they being groomed to take over the spot that The Shield hold."

Oh, I'm afraid The Shield will be quite operational when your friends arrive.

    ReplyDelete
  67. Yeah, that was the most baffling part of that news item. Taker is pretty much injured all the time (it's not a knock on him, he's just put his huge body in harm's way for a couple of decades and this is what happens) and is hardly a guarantee to make the Mania appearances coming into this year. I didn't even know this was an issue with The Shield until today.

    ReplyDelete
  68. I'm *highly* in favor of more Wyatt family on my TV until I get tired of them. Which, you know, is pretty much the case for anything on my TV. Frankly, I've never been particularly entertained by The Shield. I don't hate 'em, but I don't exactly look forward to their appearances.

The Wyatts, on the other hand...I pay the fuck attention, and right now, that's entirely because of Bray. I understand I have yet to see him wrestle a single match, and a lot of how well he stays over (because I think he's already there) will depend on his match at SS.

Oh, and btw, does he remind anyone else of DeNiro's character in Cape Fear (1991)?

    ReplyDelete
  69. You mean...it's all a trap?

    Damn you. Damn you, sir.

    ReplyDelete
  70. Pretty sure that Max Cady (with shades of Jim Jones and Deliverance thrown in) is the template for Wyatt.

Disagree with the Shield, though. Their entrance into the company was badass, but the writers forgot to write Chapter 2 of their angle/gimmick. They still manage to have exciting matches every time out. I have never been bored by a Shield match, which is pretty impressive 9 months in.

    ReplyDelete
  71. THREADJACK!~

    Brock Lesnar has a grandson!?

    ReplyDelete
  72. The timing doesn't make sense. Why did they all win titles just a few weeks after Ambrose supposedly injured Taker?

    ReplyDelete
  73. Step 1 = killer entrance.
    Step 2 = ?
    Step 3 = Profit!

I find no particular fault with them - aside from still really understanding how it is they're about justice, or how exactly they define it. I just don't find them all that entertaining. Ain't saying they suck; far from it. 3MB is a good example of something that sucks. Nothing against those guys in particular; I just think it's a bad gimmick.

    ReplyDelete
  74. So far the Wyatt Family's video vignettes have been WAY more entertaining than their actual work in front of people. Obviously it's early and who knows how good they can become, but right now I wonder if the Wyatt Family is an idea that just translates better to a TV drama (with the benefit of editing, music, scenery, etc.) than to a live-action wrestling show.

    ReplyDelete
  75. Bray Wyatt = Ultimate Warrior

    All sizzle, no steak.

    ReplyDelete
  76. For injuring the Undertaker? Are you kiidding? The same Undertaker who is touted for his tough guy, no nonsense, earn your way bullshit mythology as lockeroom leader? The guy is old, out of shape, and works a couple times a year, but its the Shield's fault when he gets banged up?

    ReplyDelete
  77. Indeed. Fuck Orton. The same dude who has had a disproportionate push since day one nd multiple "second chances"?

    ReplyDelete
  78. Step-grandson, Sable's daughter from her first husband had a kid.

    ReplyDelete
  79. Reminds me of Waylon Mercy.

    ReplyDelete
  80. The justice thing was totally fine when it was just a bullshit excuse to help Punk. It was heels lying (when they were obviously in cahoots with Punk), and that works fine. Then it stopped making sense when they were exposed as having been paid off by Heyman, because they continued talking about justice.

At that point, they should've dropped the justice stuff and just formed a stable under Punk. Or at least said that justice IS aiding Punk, and pledged themselves to him. They could've chalked it up to being inspired by The Pipebomb. Then when Punk loses to Rock, Cena, and Taker, they turf him at Heyman's request; thus explaining Punk's break. Punk returns, and runs through the Shield on his way to Brock.

    ReplyDelete

  82. I really love my Verizon droid RAZR but my gf has a Samsung Galaxy and it makes my (legit cool) phone look like shit. Get it

    ReplyDelete
  83. The shield is fucking awesome. Ambrose cuts THE BEST promos in the world (sorry cm punk) and they've already had enough awesome matches to fill the first disc on a DVD set. Plus they are super over and have been pushed and protected more than any dude(s) debuting since kane (which is why I doubt these shield might get punished stories)

The Wyatt family is a big fat heel tag team and a guy with gimmick that can't translate in the ring. I don't get it. Why would hhh push 3 fatsos over the biggest young star in 10 years, a giant good looking Samoan and a work rate stud like Rollins?

    ReplyDelete
  84. Thanks, that seems to be the consensus between ppl Ive asked

    ReplyDelete

I just got a simple $100 phone at walmart with that $50 a month plan. It's a Huawei thing, or whatever, but it's great. Honestly, the camera on it is as great as any digital camera I've seen, and it runs programs just fine and all that jazz. I wouldn't see the need to get anything more expensive.

Glad i'm not the only one who think the Wyatts are the drizzling shits.

"THE BUZZARDS THE BUZZARDS" It's so different! Fuck offf

    ReplyDelete
  110. It depends on whether or not you have a long-term contract or not. With a contract, you can get subsidized phones through your carrier. Without one, you pay full price but have much lower monthly fees. In my case, the math always works out that being off-contract is a better deal, and especially because I have a Nexus 4 which is about half the price of similar phones when buying them at full price. If I were on contract and could consider the more expensive phones, I think I'd go with the HTC One based on reviews I've read.

    ReplyDelete
  111. Totally agree, those two matches with Gail were probably the best mainstream female matches this year. Now we're stuck with the useless Velvet and the horrid ODB. They really need to harvest Shimmer, Shine and other indy places for new girls to feud with the always smoking hot Mickie James and Gail Kim. Bring in MsChif, Portia Perez, Nicole Matthews, Mercedes Martinez, LuFisto, etc.

    ReplyDelete
  112. It was me Drew, it was me all along!

    ReplyDelete
  113. Pretty damn much, I think we saw 75% of the KO division last night (ODB, MJ and Gail). The only one missing was the useless Velvet Sky. Which leads to the question of what the hell happened to Tessmacher? Is she even still with the company or did she go back to Hooters where she probably makes more money?

  114. I've got the new LG Optimus L5 phone and have had no issues so far. Only had it for a month, but I like it. Takes some serious getting used to a touch screen, and such a small phone. Last phone I had looked like the old Zack Morris style.
