John Cena to Take Time Off Following Elbow Surgery?

According to Mike Johnson of PWInsider.com, the word going around backstage is that Cena will actually take the proper time off to let his elbow heal and not rush back to the ring, like he has done in the past.

Reason for Alberto Del Rio's Facial Injuries

Either late on Saturday night or early Sunday morning, Del Rio got into an altercation with several bar patrons. Drew McIntyre stepped in to help Del Rio and ended up getting roughed up as well.

  2. Look for Del Rio to forfeit to Dean Douglas tonight only for Razor to step in and win it.

  3. ZERO chance that Cena takes time off.

Time off? yes. Proper time off? HELL no.

  7. This is MUCH less interesting than Alberto Del Rio was beaten up by Drew McIntyre...

  8. I can't believe they ruined ADR's handsome face

  9. Drew McIntyre is Del Rio's road buddy so it makes sense that he would back him up. Of course if Del Rio worked for Bill Watt's he would have been fired for getting roughed by bar patrons.

  10. Ok, that makes sense. The first couple of tidbits I read were that ADR and McIntyre got into a backstage altercation of some sort.

  11. There were anywhere from 3 to 18 patrons, I'm assuming.

  12. Definitely the right time for Cena to cool out for a while. I'd say no sooner than Rumble, honestly. I doubt he sits out Mania. I wonder if he gets a taste of working the part time schedule and starts to consider it.

  13. I think it would be great for him to sit out until the Rumble. Maybe be a "surprise" entrant (if there is such a thing anymore).

  14. Even if he sits out until after Survivor Series, it would be a good enough length to get people excited about his comeback. Let WWE build some programs with Orton, Bryan, Punk and a couple other folks and insert Cena into a story with the build to the Rumble.

Given how long Cena's been going non-stop, I imagine he could use a break as much as we want one from him.

  15. I'd be happy to see Cena gone till the Rumble, or even longer. He's stale and needs to be gone for a while, and when he does come back something needs to change. Ten years of doing the same shit every week is too much, he needs to change.

  16. If there's one person I'd want backing me up in a bar fight, it's the guy who was on the female side of a domestic abuse relationship.

  20. There is a Zeb Colter in this story, isn't there?

  21. What is the expected layoff time for someone with this injury? Is it REALLY serious (as in Cena won't be back until Mania at the earliest) or could be realistically be back in a month or two?

If it's only a 2-3 month absence anyway, I can see this being the injury where Cena finally relents and properly heals it, also giving his body an overall break. Bring him back in November as the return partner on Team Bryan vs. Team New Evolution at Survivor Series or something.
