CM Punk corrects your grammar

I think every writer should literally watch these.

The "your/you're" one was comedy gold.  "YOU ARE a bitch!"

Damien Sandow needs to read fan mail like this on the show as well.

Comments

  1. Someone should ask his to do 'lose' and 'loose' (as in, 'that guy is a loser' not 'that guy is a looser'.)

    That shit drives me beserk!

  2. I saw so many people make that mistake I began to question if loser was really spelled looser.

    ReplyDelete
  3. 1. Irregardless
    2. Mute point instead of moot point
    3. Text speak

    ReplyDelete
  4. When punk does this, it's great. When I do it, people get very upset.

in the literally/figuratively one, cm punk made an error

he said, 'he's doing really good'

of course it should be 'he's doing really well'

  6. I wonder how many wrestling fans will see this and actively try to improve their grammar and spelling.

    ReplyDelete
  7. CM Punk is awesome. Grammar is so bad now I just expect seeing the wrong they're/their/there and your/you're on message boards.

    ReplyDelete
  8. Same here. I thought there was some sort of shift in the rules of grammar. I've seen well educated people do it so often that I thought it was accepted.

    ReplyDelete
  9. If Triple H would've done it, the internet would explode with nerd rage!

    ReplyDelete
  10. "Mute point" drives me insane.

    ReplyDelete
  11. Superman does good, you're doing well.

    ReplyDelete
  12. My non-wrestling fan Mother found these hilarious

    ReplyDelete
  13. Fan mail: I hope you loose you're match to the Undertaker.

CM Punk: Hey buddy, check my earlier video on your/you're, "Loose" is the opposite of tight! "Lose" is the opposite of win! You do not hope I "loose" the match to the Undertaker, you want me to "LOSE"!

    ReplyDelete
  14. Loose pussies are losers.

    ReplyDelete
  15. It's moo point. Like a cow's opinion.

    ReplyDelete
  16. It doesn't matter.

    ReplyDelete
  17. I may have to pass this video around to all of my reporters. Only one of them is a WWE fan in any way, so the others may be confused why this homeless-looking gentleman with all the tattoos is correcting them. Sounds like a fun experiment.

    ReplyDelete
  18. That's cause Punk's funny

    You're not

    ReplyDelete
  19. What do you know from funny, ya bastard?

    ReplyDelete
  20. I feel I make a few nice barbs in my ROH recap each week, feel free to add your click to my hit/comment count--It would be greatly appreciated

    ReplyDelete
  21. "I am not, literally, a piece of shit!?!?!"

    Fucking. Awesome.

    ReplyDelete
  22. You're inviting Dougie to post in your ROH thread? lol, you've been warned...

    ReplyDelete
  23. A few weeks ago he was adding comments to bitch about how many comments there are, I appreciate the irony

    ReplyDelete
  24. Now you're cracking jokes.

    ReplyDelete
  25. See, I'm Hilarious!!!

    ReplyDelete
  26. Did it first thing this morning.

    ReplyDelete
  27. It's starting to appear on supposedly professional websites (like Gamespot, recently), as well. And of course, when I point it out, they all attack me and call me a Grammar Nazi.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Moot...as in where Scandinavians decided things?

    ReplyDelete
  29. The best bit was the definition of beating. Of course I'm a sucker for caption gags and the like.

Punk cutting old school pro wrestling promos on people is great, his delivery was amazing. Honestly Punk has great stage presence and I've never seen him corpse (unlike the other goober in the video).

If you want an even bigger laugh, watch this with the closed captioning on.

    ReplyDelete
  31. If Triple H did it, it would take 32 minutes a video and most of it would be about how he's the game and he's that damn good-uh, and dogs dying from having their tails ripped off, which while grammatically correct, is not anatomically correct.

oh well, it was about cena.

    so maybe he is right

(cause cena = superman, you see)

    ReplyDelete
  33. WHAT YOU THINK

IF YA SMEEEEEEELLLLLLLLLLLLL--WHAT THE ROCK, IS COOKING

    ReplyDelete
  34. In an odd way, this reminds me of Sesame Street.

    ReplyDelete
  35. I saw these vids last night and for the rest of the night I was on the computer, I was very uptight with my grammar and trying to make sure it was correct.

    So in a way......I am.

    ReplyDelete
  36. You do, literally, contain a piece of shit.

    ReplyDelete
  37. I'd mark out for CM Punk getting on the mic and singing the preposition song rather than listening to a Cena promo.

    ReplyDelete
  38. The thing is I know many very well paid people who can barely speak or write English.

    ReplyDelete
  39. I always hated the Grammar Nazi title. I mean, if somebody said 2 + 2 = 5, you'd correct them. Yet if they use the wrong form of a certain word, you're supposed to just let it pass?

    ReplyDelete
  40. Speaking of Punk, check out the Art of Wrestling podcast with Matt Striker. The five minutes or so in the intro with Punk, Ace Steel, and Colt is better than most of the rest of the podcast.

    ReplyDelete
  41. My reaction?
"This is awesome! Clap, clap, clapclapclap!"

This must have been filmed before he decided to morph into Wolverine.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Can he do one on roll vs. role? I see it so often on this very blog of dooooom.

    ReplyDelete
  43. The real reason for this, other than people being stupid, is that so many high schools use their English classes for standardized test prep for a decent portion of the school year. I don't recall ever having class time devoted to grammar once I left elementary school.

And it's needed. I remember my Expository Writing class first semester in college. We did peer review alot, it was eye opening.

    ReplyDelete
  44. I see "could of" instead of "could have" on this blog all the time, as long as we're pointing out this out. Drives me bonkers. It doesn't even make sense!

    ReplyDelete
  45. I don't remember what wrestling site this was from but years ago I remember reading an exchange between a writer and a "critic" where the critic kept using "fucken" instead of "fucking".

    ReplyDelete
  46. This must be really embarrassing for you.

    ReplyDelete
  47. Did you find mistakes alot of the time?

    ReplyDelete
  48. Man, Gorilla Monsoon's commentary must have driven Punk nuts in the 80's/early 90's.
