Not gonna lie, I was hoping for an RNN logo.

  1. A little uninspired, though I like them. I actually really love the sideplate concept and the belt in general.
However, has anyone noticed that the belt gets held upside down a lot? I assume it's happened forever and I just never noticed it before because the belts are normally fairly symmetrical, but it's a bit jarring to see the upside down W.

I like it. Makes me wonder what other wresters sideplates would look like.

  3. Wonder what Bryan's would have looked like?

  4. YES! YES! YES! on one plate
NO! NO! NO! on the other.

  5. I really like these side plates, the best ones so far. I hope eventually they start incorporating a bit more color though.

    Probably something Beard related.

  7. You can see on the pic there are plates under those, I wonder if they are a different set for Bryan they had prepared.

  8. they are foreshadowing a future Miz title reign.

  9. I figured it was going to be a pair of wellness strikes. Or a dishonorable discharge notice and a diva bag full of shit.

  10. Slowly, wrestling is turning into WMAC Masters. Yesssss Yesssss.

  11. Uninspired sideplates for an uninspiring wrestler.

  12. How about a dragon? Probably not...

I would have like to see what they had planned if Val Venis was champ.

  14. Just to clarify he received a bad conduct discharge which is different.

And I know you don't like Orton but to say he's "uninspired" is pretty damn false. Guy has had like dozens of great matches in the last several years but to each his own.

  15. Goat heads maybe

  16. You're right, I should have put an AWOL charge. You're right, I'm not a fan of Orton's and it appears you are. That's fine, vanilla and chocolate ice cream and all that. Don't get me wrong, I think he's perfect for the Daniel Bryan feud. I think Orton's capable of having decent matches when he's going over but Orton doesn't make other people look good and his matches seem to be lulls to set up the snap slam, the incredibly-telegraphed hanging DDT, and the RKO.

  17. "but Orton doesn't make other people look good"
Do you mean during his matches or how he's booked? The guy has been losing a ton lately.

    ReplyDelete
  18. His matches. I don't blame wrestlers for how they're booked (with few exceptions). I loathe Cena's character but Daniel Bryan and CM Punk are absolutely made because Cena made them look like a million bucks. I can't think of a single wrestler who I've thought, "wow, that guy really benefited from feuding with Orton, Orton really put him over" (I don't like how Daniel Bryan beat him but I'll get to that in a second).

Now, normally I want to see Orton as champion like I want to see a dumpster fire full of puppies BUT I'm happy he's the champion. For the purposes of the angle I think Orton's the perfect opponent for Bryan.

Actually, I think there's a lot of kismet going on with the Bryan-COrton-poration storyline: Cena's injury (I'm not happy Cena got hurt but they're not turning Cena heel and Cena would have demanded attention that he won't while he's recovering) and Daniel Bryan's victory over Orton (in a no-holds barred match, Orton can argue without weapons Daniel Bryan can't beat him).

Oh man, fucking nostalgin' hard for that.

  20. It was essentially wrestling with Martial Arts. Gold.

  21. I saw a picture of him "Then" and "Now" on this blog and I refuse to believe it was real. It broke my heart. Broke it.

The personalized sideplates are one of the numerous reasons the new WWE title is boss. It feels like it belongs personally to each individual, as opposed to the last title which literally was The John Cena Title.

  24. Lets kickstart this! Bring it back!

THIS!!! Though to play devils advocate you could say Orton brought Mark Henry up to another level by putting him over, at least for one night.

    ReplyDelete
  26. They still failed to let him run with the American Dragon name in WWE

    ReplyDelete
  27. I'm sure his were never even made

    ReplyDelete
  28. I totally agree about the Mark Henry thing. In fact Henry basically beat him repeatedly. I thought they were telling a Sting/Vader story with that.
Then again I thought that they were doing that with Sheamus/Big Show but it seems like they were just telling a "this guy consistently loses to the bigger guy" story =)

  29. I never liked individual titles, because it looks as if they know, when a title has to change, if you know what I mean...
