You Can't See Him (Despite Being Advertised To Be There)

EVERYTHING IS...oh, wait, I was thinking this was TNA again, sorry.

Comments

  1. The report I read on the show over on 411mania said that no one took up the refund offer despite the kids being upset. I guess they didn't want to risk him worsening his injury before the PPV.

  2. One of the truest ways to see who's a real draw at house shows is when they give out refunds if someone isn't there, to see who causes the most walkouts. Although truthfully, I question anyone who pays a bunch of money and takes time out of their day just to see one particular wrestler.

  3. I'm all for lightening the load for wrestlers and promoting their health, but if he's advertised, should have at least showed up for photos or autographs. If he's too injured to travel, should have tweeted a tout to check their website to remind people to check the app to find out why he couldn't be there.

  4. It is Bullshit that they still pull this bait and switch bullshit.

  5. "Card subject to change"

  6. Still Bullshit when they know days in advance and continue to promote his appearance.

It will bite them in the ass soon enough when all the parents that spend money for there kids to see Cena and he isn't there. Do you think the majority of these parents will spend $40+ on tickets for another chance and getting screwed the next time the WWE is in town?

  7. This isn't like back in the day where they had to replace a guy an hour before the show because he showed up too drunk or drugged up to wrestle. Reminds me of the time I went to a house show in 1992 where Jake Roberts couldn't main event due to "family matters."

They've known Cena was hurt for quite some time and advertised him anyway. It's wrong.

'Reminds me of the time I went to a house show in 1992 where Jake Roberts couldn't main event due to "family matters."'

well c'mon, he needed his fix...

    ...of urkel, that is

  9. I was sure Cena/Bryan was going to be a ****+ match. Now, with the special referee nonsense and what is clearly is bad injury, I think we'll be lucky if we don't get a bait and switch on the match itself (let alone a house show appearance).

  10. Well, they pulled this shit in my home town... and they haven't been back 20 years later. So they'll probably just not run those towns anymore.

Lots of towns to run where you haven't burned the locals. Carnie logic!

  11. You must live in an extremely small town if they haven't been back since.

  12. I'm more surprised WWE is running House Shows during Summerslam week.

  13. short match giving D-Bry the title and then long match with Orton?

There are places in Egypt that would burn the place to the ground if Cena no-showed. Just look at the news. Cena's fault.

  15. It would be a good idea if needed and it'd be nice if they made the cash-in more of a match for once. Also, it means you could have HHH do things right for Cena/Bryan, then Vince screw Bryan during the match against Orton.

  16. If he can tweet from USC's workout facility, I'm pretty sure he can go to Portland and cut a promo. Shit, they did an Austin/Jericho promo skit as part of a tour once.

  17. No Cena and no Sheamus? The disappointment those kids experienced at this show is going to shape the men they will become

    ReplyDelete
  18. He was clearly scheduled to have a heel turn at this event before he no-showed. I haven't been this mad since Darren Young came out.... or HHH's dominance in 2002-05... or the botched Invasion angle... or Montreal. Feel free to discuss any of these events.

They'll grow up to boo the faces and cheer the heels like the rest of us.

  20. No Cena or Sheamus actually makes me want to go house shows now..

    ReplyDelete
  21. Yeah. It was kinda weird that they ever even came to this shithole.

    ReplyDelete
  22. I don't go to many shows, but I went to this one and it was AWESOME1 My favorite house show ever. Everyone busted their ass and the Portland crowd was a lot of fun.

  23. Next thing you're gonna tell me is that the Dragons gang that beat up Eddie Winslow was actually let by Ricky Steamboat.

  24. They don't hit Honolulu very often...but when they do, they really dog it.

EVERYTHING IS FINE is the BoD's rake-stepping gag.

  26. They did the same thing here in my town with 6 of the 14 advertised names no showing and haven't been back since. That was in 1987 and they really pissed off people with Savage, Gang and Bigelow being the big three who no showed, plus Steele, JYD and someone else. The whole show was a big mess and they tacked on a battle royal with the remaining guys plus the replacements we got, which was Volkoff and Beefcake, and two matches being scrapped completely.

  27. With Cena and Sheamus both out for the foreseeable future and the NFL Monday Night Football starting soon, how far do people think the rating will fall? Will WWE jump into panic mode soon? Start bringing back other old names to try and pop ratings for a while?

  28. There's only one man who fits that bill. One man who can save us all when it comes crashing down...

  30. No, it's BUSH'S FAULT!

  31. you're SUPPOSED to say when they do, they prefer Dos Equis.

    Stay humble, my friends

I see your point. Gavin Rossdale's a good looking dude, and those Egyptian women are very inhibited. He started a riot in Thailand also.

  33. It's also President Romney's fault as well. [/sarc]
