Two Sons of Famous Wrestlers Trying to Join the New Japan Dojo

David Benoit, the 20 year old son of Chris Benoit, and Cody Hall, the son of Scott Hall, are both trying to see if they can get over to New Japan. David is looking to get into wrestling and is 6'2 1/2 tall, with aspirations of making it into the WWE.

  1. Something tells me anyone with the last name Benoit is blacklisted from the wwe. Best of luck to him though.

Cody Hall looks decent for a rookie IMO. Lets just hope he doesn't get into drugs and booze like his father.

  2. I hope Cody makes it, but from what little I've seen of Cody is that he tries to mimmick Scott Hall's mannerisms too much. You can't duplicate Hall as there will always be one Scott Hall and I'm hoping Cody realises this and tries to find his own identity.

With all due respect, it's stupid to even think that Cody would follow his Scott's footsteps in what relates to drugs and booze. He already had the worst example he could possibly have.

  4. Even if the whole nasty incident with Benoit never happened, it's doubtful that David would make it anyway just because Chris was considered one of the best wrestlers in the world. Those shoes are simply too big to fill.

  5. I don't buy the fact the titles will be unified, but even if they are....so what? They've been treated like shit for years and all of a sudden it's a big deal if someone has 2 pieces of shit instead of 1? The tippy top guys don't need the title, because wwe portrays them as above the title, and it'll be like that for awhile. I could care less about a possible unification.

  6. Anyone here recommend any shoot interviews? I have selected a few in the cart and have a lot but wanted to see if there are any others I should check out. Here is what I have in my cart so far:
    Ted DiBiase, Volume 1
    Greg Valentine
    King Kong Bundy
    Tom Prichard
Tracy Smothers (Always an awesome choice for a shoot)
Buddy Landell (His drug & alcohol stories are legendary)
Sam Houston (Brother of Jake Roberts and supposedly has a ton of dirt on Dusty and tells a lot about his alcohol problems and relationship with Baby Doll)

  7. Upon seeing the names Benoit and Hall, I think to myself, "This can't go well"

  8. I look forward to the debut of Coyote Sullivan.

  9. I would love to see David Benoit make it in wrestling. That would sure make for some compelling television if done correctly. He looks exactly like his father.

  10. "....I didn't happen to see Punk's promo on Monday night, because I was busy creating the biggest match in WWE history..." hahahahaahahahahahaahahahahahahahahaahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaahaha

  11. The only one I've seen on that list are DiBiase and Bundy. No complaints on either of them.

Someone brought up an interesting idea. What if David Benoit didn't try to avoid the "my dad was a killer" stigma? What if he wrestled in order to prove people wrong?

I feel for the kid because he could be an accountant and people will still bring up his dad and what he did. I just hope he lives life to the fullest and can be happy.

  13. Like I said they could make some really interesting TV out of this. It truly is a hell of a story.

This is where TNA fucks up. THIS is the kind of story that "Gut Check" is made for. Same with Jake Roberts.

  15. I give the dude alot of credit. For him to be going into the wrestling business, a place he knows he'll be scrutinized and criticized more then in any other profession, definitely takes alot of heart.

I'd bet that alot of it is to try and redeem the family name. I'm really rooting for him.

  16. Dear David Benoit: never take a chair shot to the head, don't do flying head butts, PLEASE PROTECT YOUR HEAD AT ALL COSTS.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Yeah, can't see him ever making it to WWE, regardless of how good he becomes. They just don't want to bring that attention onto themselves if they can avoid it.

  18. Signed, every single wrestling fan who lived though the horror of what your father did.

  19. "For their fathers, but these kids have a chance to prove them wrong."

  20. Disagree - many people fall into the same traps that their parents did, despite seeing the consequences.

Hell, for a wrestling example, just look at Harry Smith getting popped for Wellness.

  21. P.S. May we also suggest not using your real name, should you make it to the big time?

    ReplyDelete
  22. Seconded. You don't see Randy Orton running around in a cowboy hat and fake cast.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Better idea: just find a new line of work.

    ReplyDelete
  24. David Benoit is not banned from the WWE. In fact WWE did let him backstage with Chris Jericho and there are photos of him posing in the ring at a arena.

    ReplyDelete
  25. WWE will take care of that.

    ReplyDelete
  26. If it's what he wants to do he should get the chance. That being said, choosing a different worked name would be a good idea.
