> Look I want to begin with what I'm about to say is a bit outlandish. But it is at all possible that the WWE was sandbagging it on this PPV? Honestly is it crazy to think that they (Vince and company) put together this below average show on purpose. Here me out on this because I'm never one for conspiracy theories or this other crazy internet bs but something stunk about this whole build to a supposed "big four" show of the year. With the WWE about to renegotiate for their TV rights and the new network on the horizon you would assume ratings,PPV buys, and overall popularity will play large part in those upcoming negotiations. So to show improvement in all those areas you bottom out this month and show steady gains from here on out. Honestly why else would you place Show ( a guy whom hasn't drawn in years and you could argue never drew) in the Main Event? Vince and company know that they aren't dumb. They know that a decent number of fans will buy the Survivor Series just habitually along with the parents of children who want to watch Cena. So following tonight's show you have the build towards unifying the titles along with the returns of Brock, Taker etc. to coincide with the "road to Wrestlemania and ratings will rise. So going into the TV negotiations the WWE can show that they as a company are on the upswing and demand more cash? Am I far off on this?

Sorry, but they just really think Big Show is a draw and their storytelling prowess is unmatched. Ratings go up by January anyway with the end of football season, no tanking it purposely needed.

Therein lies the problem.
ReplyDeleteAnyone else see that Dolphins posted the entire show's spoilers before the PPV began?
What a fucking sordid mess.
...yeah that's a pretty dumb theory. Businesses never purposely do something aimed at not making them money and alienating customers. Its ok to accept that they are just putting out something that you don't find entertaining.
ReplyDeleteOnly because you put "purposely" in the second sentence am I not laughing my ass off.
ReplyDeleteI think once they brought Rocky back for Survivor Series a couple years ago and nothing happened, they basically tossed in the towel on the fall, due to football, forever. At this point, they'd seriously be better off just taking December off or something to give guys an "offseason" or something.
ReplyDeleteDon't lie. The first thing y'all saw was "Sent from my iPhone."
ReplyDeleteCan we stop with the 'Big Four' thing? While it might have been at one point, Survivor Series has lost so much cache in the last few years that it's become just another PPV.
ReplyDeletePlus with so many wrestling they have to put on nowadays, you've pretty much seen every combination of wrestler's teaming up, which was the big draw to this PPV.
Honestly, If we were to have a big four, I think MitB is a better candidate, but even then that's pushing it. Really it's just Summerslam, Royal Rumble, and Wrestlemania now.
WWE a bunch of deluded navel-gazers? That's unpossible!
ReplyDeleteWwe does not give two shits about their product quality at this point. Their golden goose is the tv deal and they have reprogrammed us unto thinking the brand us the draw. As BAD as this show was on paper to use, I guarantee it doesn't bomb compared to the past few Survivor Series. Low risk, low reward for them...they're making money so they won't change the direction of the company unless there's a paradigm shift in the entire wrestling industry.
ReplyDeleteThey're just in a big ass holding pattern until Rumble and then the Mania build.
Damn it I forgot to check that.
ReplyDeleteThis would all be fine and dandy if Raw was wild out of control must see TV, which clearly it is not.
ReplyDelete"At this point, they'd seriously be better off just taking December off or something to give guys an "offseason" or something."
ReplyDeleteThat would be a horrible business decision
iPhones are awesome.
ReplyDelete"the brand us the draw... l they feel they"
ReplyDeleteHoly crap, what happened there?
At the gym and posted from my phone. Bad combo of things
ReplyDeleteAs long as they are profitable in December, not happening,
ReplyDeleteRalph, are you eating the paste?
ReplyDeleteI don't think that word means what you think it means.
ReplyDeleteFocus on your reps bra.
ReplyDeleteThis happens every time: the moment Cena's match starts, my stream starts to buffer.
ReplyDeleteAnd before you people think I'm talking about something illegal, I meant my urine stream.
Blergh...
ReplyDeleteYou should see a doctor about that.
ReplyDeleteSeparate the brands, put Cena on Smackdown and let the brands alternate PPVs.
ReplyDeleteI'll buy into the theory
ReplyDeleteThey wanna get put out perception that Survivor Series is a failed outdated concept, so they treat it as an after-thought, public sentiment treats it as an after-thought.
Vince takes it off the PPV schedule for some new gimmicked-themed PPV.
November is now the month for F.A.C. "Feelings, Acceptance, and CUDDLES!"
*Card is subject to change.
CT Fletcher; "IT'S STILL YO SET!!!"
ReplyDeleteNovember is now the month for F.U.C.K "Feelings, Understanding, Cuddles and KINDNESS!"
ReplyDeleteFTFY
"Here me out on this because I'm never one for conspiracy theories or this other crazy internet bs but"
ReplyDeleteThat's like someone saying "I'm not racist, but...". Anything said after that should just be ignored.
THAT ISN'T PG!
ReplyDeleteAmong other things
ReplyDeleteI am sure is he is doing Denise Austin like calisthenics
ReplyDeleteThat didn't work that well the first time though
ReplyDeleteWell, if nothing else, at least it looks like they're FINALLY going to merge the WWE title and WHC. Now if they would do the same thing to the I-C and U.S. titles we'd be heading in the right direction.
ReplyDeleteReminds me of this exchange in Talledega Nights
ReplyDeleteRicky: With all due respect, Mr. Dennit, I had no idea you'd gotten experimental surgery to have your balls removed.
Mr. Dennit: What did you just say to me?
Ricky: What? I said it with all due respect!
Mr. Dennit: Just because you say that doesn't mean you get to say whatever you want to say to me!
Ricky: It sure as hell does!
Mr. Dennit: No, it doesn't--
Ricky: It's in the Geneva Conventions, look it up!
You got it ALL wrong...this is what I do at the gym...
