BoD Sunday NFL Thread

Comments

  1. I do thank the NFL for the scheduling.

Carolina loses: GO SAINTS! at 3.
Carolina wins: GO BUCS AND CARDINALS! at 3.

  2. Last game in Metrodome. Anyone watching?

    ReplyDelete
  3. Glad you're digging the early games. Honestly, I have no interest until 4.

I guess I'd rather Chicago draw NO at Soldier Field, so that's of interest.

Steelers up. Bengals and Ravens tied.

    ReplyDelete
  5. It's kinda insane that the Steelers are still in contention this year.

    ReplyDelete
  6. Porn-Peddling Jef VinsonDecember 29, 2013 at 11:40 AM

I just expect them to win this game. Let the other games fall where they may.

    ReplyDelete
  7. Today's game is worth $50 million to Jay Cutler. If he plays well and beats the Packers, he'll get an extension worth something like 5 years and $75M. The Bears lose and he plays poorly again against the Pack, the Bears let him go and he'll sign with someone like Tennessee for around $25 over 3 years. He's never played well in high pressure games, and with Rodgers back, I'd expect Green Bay to win comfortably.

    ReplyDelete
  8. Lot of talk about Luke Keuchely (sp) being defensive player of the year. I'd hold the bus on that one cause he got abused by Tony Gonzalez last time they played the Falcons.

On offense someone besides Cam Newton is going to have to make a play. The Panthers offense reminds me of the Bugs Bunny cartoon when he was playing every position in that baseball game.

    ReplyDelete
  9. Regardless of how Cutler plays he still going to have that same pitiful face he has after everything. I just think he could not care any less than he does now.

    ReplyDelete
  10. Chicago loses today. Cutler plays poorly in big games and today is a big game.

    ReplyDelete
  11. Porn-Peddling Jef VinsonDecember 29, 2013 at 11:58 AM

    DAMMIT Jets.

    ReplyDelete
  12. Falcons with the HUGE turnover, DeAngelo Williams catches a 3rd Down pass, off to the races, and gets stripped inside the Falcons 20. Falcons recover, and it should stand, even if challenged. Still 10-0 Falcons in the 2nd.

    ReplyDelete
  13. Yeah, right as I was helping customers.

    ReplyDelete
  14. I think if he hits the open market someone He'll Still Cash In huge. It only takes 1 desperate QB needy team to overpay or drive up his value. Teams are always gonna be tantalized by his arm

    ReplyDelete
  15. How IN THE FUCK is bears/packers not a national game? I get 2 late games and neither on is packers/bears. What the fuck

    ReplyDelete
  16. What FOX game are you getting?

    ReplyDelete
  17. People I guess like to see the Browns lose more.

    ReplyDelete
  18. And that'll likely be the ballgame... Falcons let Panthers drive 97 yards to end the 1st half, will likely go into the break down 14-10. And I don't see these Falcons putting up any big fight after the break.

    (Prove me wrong, Atlanta.)

    ReplyDelete
  21. NBC flexed the wrong game. I'm still going to watch cause why not

    ReplyDelete
  22. http://deadspin.com/which-tv-markets-getting-screwed-today-your-week-17-n-1490505961

Yeah, Chicago/Green Bay is nowhere near national coverage.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Yea. Saw that. It's stupid

    ReplyDelete
  24. That nursing college ad with the sweet sapphire look alike on here always cracks me up

    ReplyDelete
  25. Thread jack: apparently, there are no plans for WWE to have a full Tribute show this week, so several matches were put on WWE. Com
Here is one of the matches, note 2 things: 1, Ziggler's getting buried from the crowd and 2, Cole and JBL say a near shoot comment.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Anyone here on the redskins name change bandwagon? I have mixed feelings

    ReplyDelete
  27. Dont be hating on my Jets....

    ReplyDelete
  28. He wont be back in Chicago and I pray my Jets stay the hell away from him...

    ReplyDelete
  29. Not a fan. Names change over time, no point changing things every time society changes their taboos

    ReplyDelete
  30. Don't care. Too many self-important assholes on both sides of the issue.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Hints on the near shoot comment for people not patient enough to watch the match?

    ReplyDelete
  32. Nope, im part Native American and dont find it offensive at all. I dont think the name was meant to be offensive. Im so sick of how PC this world has become...

    ReplyDelete
  33. I do love FOX trying to get Brady off the hook... Panthers called for "contact below the QB's knee" on Matt Ryan, and the announcers say Carson Palmer's playoff injury forced that rule change.

BULLSHIT! Tom Brady getting his season ended, at the start of the next season, on a similar hit made that rule change happen.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Me. Too bad the damn Lions had to blow it last week. We even got a 'Fire Schwartz' chant to get halfway around Ford Field

    ReplyDelete
  35. And theres Roddy White

    ReplyDelete
  36. Plus, the whole point of the corporate mascot is something lots of people can get behind. It'd be different if it was a Globetrotter situation and the Generals were a derogatory term and acted out a bunch of stereotypes.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Hell no, if anything I think its great to commemorate Native Americans, just as the Cleveland Indians and FSU Seminoles do. Would these PC people prefer to have no mention at all of indians even existing?

    ReplyDelete
  38. Because only the Cowboys/Giants/Skins/Steelers and Pats exist. Trust me, I get sick of those teams having 5 plus primetime games a year too

    ReplyDelete
  39. ...as a Giants fan, this has been one lousy season of football. I've been having more and more trouble getting into other games as the league changes. And this Giants set up is just depressing, they won enough to get lousy draft position, they'll keep Coughlin and his shitty offense, and need a revamped o-line. 7 wins this year is only going to prolong the sucking.

    ReplyDelete
  40. Meh. I wouldn't doubt it. It was funny during the pre-game with Boomer, they mentioned that there was a poll in Chicago that most Chicagoans have the Pack winning

    ReplyDelete
  41. THE CAROLINA... UH TEAM IS GOING TO DEFEAT THEIR OPPONENTS, ASCEND TO THE TOP OF THEIR DIVISION THEN CONTINUE ON AND BE SUCCESSFUL IN EACH OF THEIR AFTER SEASON MATCH UPS! YOUR TEAM LACKS THE ABILITY TO HALT THEIR PROGRESS!

    ReplyDelete
  42. I want it to happen just to watch conservative heads explode.

    ReplyDelete
  43. Guys, what are you watching right now? This Bikes/Lions game blows, checked out Phins/Jets it sucked...

    ReplyDelete
  44. Is Washington Abortionists in the running or something? Didn't know this was a lib/rep issue as well. Against the change and fairly liberal

    ReplyDelete
  45. I think the burial ground they built new giants stadium on is going to open up soon and claim any Giant that hasn't been injured today

    ReplyDelete
  46. So the only reason I even have conflicted feelings about the redskins name is because any time something non PC happens with one of their players (Riley cooper for example) the NFL can't grovel in apology fast enough and everyone has to go to racial sensitivity training etc. Why should that be any different. It feels off the charts hypocritical. Even still my general disdain for PC and the fact the name is clearly a tribute to the proud warrior history of native Americans makes me stay pro redskin

    ReplyDelete
  47. They are always against "The pussification of America by making everything have to be PC" I could care less, but anything that takes their minds off real issues helps the cause.

    ReplyDelete
  48. Heh... "Halt their progress" made me chuckle.

    ReplyDelete
  49. Yeah where was Bob costas's outrage 20 years ago.

    ReplyDelete
  50. FANATICAL SUPPORTER OF OPPOSING TEAM YOU CAN DOWNVOTE ME BUT YOU CANNOT STOP THE SUPERIOR SPORTS TEAM THAT IS CAROLINA!

    ReplyDelete
  51. Love that. They flex Cowboys-Philly. Romo goes down, Rodgers comes back.

    ReplyDelete
  52. They should change their logo to a Spanish peanut and keep the name.

    ReplyDelete
  53. In a botox tube on a pharmacist shelf?

    ReplyDelete
  54. Costas is a huge Douche.

    ReplyDelete
  55. Is it just me or are the a Bengals kind of a really good team that no one is considering right now? Two TEs out and they're playing well. Yet, you only hear about Peyton, Brady and Coach Reid in that conference.

    ReplyDelete
  56. Anyone think Pittsburgh still has a chance?

    ReplyDelete
  57. Dalton has 3 picks already.

    ReplyDelete
  58. They're called the Panthers.

    A-

    ReplyDelete
  59. Schwartz isn't the problem though. Isn't it more the o-line?

    ReplyDelete
  60. Oh he is a part of the problem, he is an awful coach...

    ReplyDelete
  61. Lewis doesn't have a big game track record and Dalton needs to prove himself. Sleeper potential but need to string a few together before they're considered more than "The team that filled an off year Steeler/Raven void"

    ReplyDelete
  62. Followed by Atlanta doing what they do best. Choke.

    ReplyDelete
  63. Talking about that earlier, but it's looking more possible as we go along.

Too bad they need KC to win and they're sitting starters tonight.

    ReplyDelete
  64. Hate to be that fan, but fucking Shanahan needs to find a way to win today, giants need the draft position

    ReplyDelete
  65. If he keeps this up, he might just stop throwing in the red zone all together. Heh.

    ReplyDelete
  66. Who really cares about the name? It was like the women in Augusta country club 10 years. A bunch of whiny PC people were complaining about it and no one truly cared. Then 1-2 years ago, they finally put 2 people in: a person no has heard of and condi rice. However they did it on their own terms.
As adam carolla would say, this is the rich white people's problems.

    ReplyDelete
  67. It's difficult for a lot of people to overlook the history and reputation of the organization. They have a lot of talent on that team.

    ReplyDelete
  68. Screw you and your "reading". Also, wouldn't a team from Portland called the Bikes be perfect (if I understand Portlandia correctly)? Or perhaps, the Beards.

    ReplyDelete
  69. Kirk Cousins playing himself out of millions from a desperate team this offseason.

    ReplyDelete
  70. SHIT! I knew I should Google that first

    ReplyDelete
  71. Let's just hope they don't change the logo to a Brazilian nut and adopt that old time nickname!

    ReplyDelete
  72. Lousy day to flash and the Giant d hasn't been as putrid as the rest of the team

    ReplyDelete
  73. I would say relegating Native Americans to rundown reservations is worse than a team name. Let's focus on improving the conditions of the people if we really want to show we care about them.

    ReplyDelete
  74. Amsterdam_Adam_CurryDecember 29, 2013 at 1:29 PM

Ugh, why do we always get stuck with these shitty Jets games. Doesn't the NFL realize that no one in Buffalo gives a fuck about the Jets and pretty much all of the non-Bills fans are Steeler fans? And that Pittburgh is a hell of a lot closer than NYC (or NJ) is?

    ReplyDelete
  75. Chief knock-a-homa > elephant mascot

    ReplyDelete
  76. Honestly, I'm shocked, with all the stupid ways they try to monetize, I'd bet they'd make a shit ton with a game by game ppv model as well as the local broadcasts/sunday ticket model

    ReplyDelete
  77. Bengals-Baltimore. Mistake-ridden game thus far.

    ReplyDelete
  78. If I were going to change the name, it would be something like Washington bullets (as an honor to the basketball team) or to something that makes fun of Washington (fat cats, generals, jackasses).

    ReplyDelete
  79. As a Raider fan I don't think I'll be watching the Broncos-Raiders game today. Raiders defense has been awful at home. Manning will get to 55 by days end.

    ReplyDelete
  80. Porn-Peddling Jef VinsonDecember 29, 2013 at 1:33 PM

OK, Jets. I need you not to fuck up.

    ReplyDelete
  81. Porn-Peddling Jef VinsonDecember 29, 2013 at 1:34 PM

    I need yall to WIN.

    ReplyDelete
  82. Greg Hardy is the real defensive player of the year. Falcons can't block the man

    ReplyDelete
  83. Porn-Peddling Jef VinsonDecember 29, 2013 at 1:35 PM

"Manning will get to 55 by halftime"

    FTFY

    ReplyDelete
  84. Amsterdam_Adam_CurryDecember 29, 2013 at 1:35 PM

I would buy 49er games if the price was reasonable.

    ReplyDelete
  85. I hope they finish off the Fins right here....

    ReplyDelete
  86. Think you got Fins/Jets because of the playoff implications.....

    ReplyDelete
  87. Porn-Peddling Jef VinsonDecember 29, 2013 at 1:37 PM

    It's also a rivalry game.

    ReplyDelete
  88. Ray Rice's season summed up by getting butt tackled by his own blocker.

    ReplyDelete
  89. Now this is a great response...

    ReplyDelete
  90. Amsterdam_Adam_CurryDecember 29, 2013 at 1:38 PM

No, we always get Jets games because they're a NY team (sort of). Same thing happens with the Yankees/Mets, even though Cleveland, Pittsburgh, and Toronto are a lot closer to Buffalo.

    ReplyDelete
  91. Porn-Peddling Jef VinsonDecember 29, 2013 at 1:38 PM

Kick the fucking field goal Rexy...

    ReplyDelete
  92. I will assume he did not fumble.

    ReplyDelete
  93. Maybe they figure the bigger market teams are better ratings draws...

    ReplyDelete
  94. Couldnt believe he missed the last time...

    ReplyDelete
  95. Who's offensive and defensive rookie of the year. Wr on the chargers and the 49ers cb?

    ReplyDelete
  96. My intention is not to get all political here but....I'm black and I hear all the time about the plight of blacks in this country and rightfully so. Yet, reservations continue to be some of the shittiest places this country as ever seen. It would be nice for that to get some attention for once. To hell with a football team nickname there are bigger issues to deal with.

    ReplyDelete
  97. Amsterdam_Adam_CurryDecember 29, 2013 at 1:41 PM

Maybe, but don't try and tell me a Jets game would do a better rating than a Steelers game anywhere in the U.S.

    ReplyDelete
  98. Had a 12 year old kid come into the ER today who dislocated a joint in his ankle after repeatedly kicking his brother in the leg after watching the silva fight. Good parenting skills

    ReplyDelete
  99. I kind of favor Tavon Austin. It took him a minute but he turned into a real playmaker

    ReplyDelete
  100. Porn-Peddling Jef VinsonDecember 29, 2013 at 1:42 PM

    ...tha fuck?

    ReplyDelete
  101. Did they not see what happened? Why would you want to emulate that?

    ReplyDelete
  102. Porn-Peddling Jef VinsonDecember 29, 2013 at 1:44 PM

DAMMIT! No shutout. Now manage the clock for the next 2:46, Ben.

    ReplyDelete
  103. People were slurping the bills lb Alonso and Richardson on the Jets for defensive ROY. Both are on shit teams so not sure how it plays out

    ReplyDelete
  104. Geez... If Dalton had his way, Pittsburgh is going to get screwed before the early games are done.

Now I get why Cinci gets no love.

    ReplyDelete
  105. Porn-Peddling Jef VinsonDecember 29, 2013 at 1:45 PM

Speaking from the standpoint of a kid that used to put my younger nephews in holds so I could understand how they worked, I kind of understood.

    ReplyDelete
  106. He was in crazy high energy kid mode apparently and just started kicking his older brother in the shins after seeing the fight. Smart kid

    ReplyDelete
  107. I used to try to put my brother in the figure-four. I still don't know how they hold is supposed to work.

    ReplyDelete
  108. My step son used to kick me in the legs... every so often I would shin check him to keep him honest... after last night I will never do it again.

    ReplyDelete
  109. Okay Atlanta. 80 yards. Or enough to get into FG range.

    ReplyDelete
  110. Anyone fuck with plyometrics? Started incorporating shit like plyometric pullups, pushup amd other shit into my workouts and they're fucking killer

    ReplyDelete
  111. I wish my knees were in good enough shape.

    ReplyDelete
  112. close I ever got was the p90x stuff. Gave up after a couple of weeks

    ReplyDelete
  113. Porn-Peddling Jef VinsonDecember 29, 2013 at 1:50 PM

Bends the straight leg backwards. Also fucks up the ankles.

    ReplyDelete
  114. If only Detroit would have quit beating themselves, they could have been 13-3

    ReplyDelete
  115. The Dolphins stadium is half empty and they are playing for a shot at the playoffs. I also notice Heat games with many missing seats and they are going down as one of the legendary NBA franchises. Miami is an awful sports town.

    ReplyDelete
  116. I'm getting to that point where I can feel a little stress on my knees to. Sucks. Used to do a ton of jump roping shit. had to lay off that a little

    ReplyDelete
  117. Sir, you just did in one sentence what Tony Schavone never did in 15 years. Kudos and an upvote to you

    ReplyDelete
  118. Plyo will tear your knees up. I skip that disc on P90.

    ReplyDelete
  119. It's not just Miami, it's ALL of Florida.

Look at the Rays stadium during a regular season game vs a playoff game.

    ReplyDelete
  120. Tampas the same way. I think there's just to much other shit to do. Plus a lot of people who live in Florida are transplants from other places so they don't have that attachment to the sports teams

    ReplyDelete
  121. Goodell's dick is so fucking hard to get an NFL team out of the country, I'm surprised they are not making the Vikings play in England or Canada while the new stadium is being built.

    ReplyDelete
  122. Atlanta? Seriously?

    ReplyDelete
  123. you mean the puppet comment?

    ReplyDelete
  124. There's a shot in Canada.

He needs to give up on England though. It's not gonna fucking happen.

    ReplyDelete
  125. No way Carolina can win a road playoff game

    ReplyDelete
  126. Carolina is another heavy transplant area, I was in Raleigh a couple years ago and there was a Steelers bar.

    ReplyDelete
  127. Tampa used to fill Raymond James in the late 90s/early 2000's and the Lightning still draw pretty well, I think the recession hit these parts hard though...

    ReplyDelete
  128. Another 20 million dollar pick by Fluke-O.

    ReplyDelete
  129. Wow. Flacco. That's a thing that just happened.
Has there been more INTs or TDs in this game?

    ReplyDelete
  130. Nah, even as a Jets fan, I could never see a Jets game outdrawing the Steelers...

    ReplyDelete
  131. It's a bandwagon thing for the bucs. We t to 3 games this year amd they were all half empty. Rays just never draw regardless

    ReplyDelete
  132. The Bengals actually might get past the Wild Card for once.

    ReplyDelete
  133. There was Paul Mooney special where he talks about the Indians, its hilarious yet also makes a ton of sense too....

    ReplyDelete
  134. They do draw when they're good tho

    ReplyDelete
  135. I live about 3.5 hours from Charlotte... in SC. Steelers are by far the biggest team here.

    ReplyDelete
  136. Rays dont draw cause of that stadium location...

    ReplyDelete
  137. YOU ARE WRONG HEATHEN! THEY WILL WIN ALL OF THEIR CONTESTS REGARDLESS OF LOCATION!

    ReplyDelete
  138. FUCK THIS JOB, AND THE RETARDS.

    ReplyDelete
  139. Bucs didnt draw very well a few years back when they werent bad, I was surprised at that....

    ReplyDelete
  140. Meh. That's the popular consensus. I think it's a flawed theory tho

    ReplyDelete
  141. I think comics are gay, I don't get all up in your comic book conversations.

    ReplyDelete
  142. Gilberry eye injury via Three Stooges reenactment.

    ReplyDelete
  143. Shades of Roddy Piper.

    ReplyDelete
  144. New Orleans has the same issue, just not as bad.

    ReplyDelete
  145. Porn-Peddling Jef VinsonDecember 29, 2013 at 2:03 PM

Fuck you Kansas City for deciding to rest your starters.

    ReplyDelete
  146. I should be pissed, but I'm not.

Can't trust the Falcons to do shit right

    ReplyDelete
  147. Porn-Peddling Jef VinsonDecember 29, 2013 at 2:03 PM

    As well they should be.

    ReplyDelete
  148. Porn-Peddling Jef VinsonDecember 29, 2013 at 2:04 PM

England would be a stupid location.

    ReplyDelete
  149. Why? It always seemed kind of silly to me.

    ReplyDelete
  150. The economy def plays a part also tho. South tampa, where alot of the younger professionals lived, has been decimated. Lots of half completed condo complexes amd just a down economy there

    ReplyDelete
  151. That's so random

    ReplyDelete
  152. Games are ending. Let's talk firings...

Who doesn't have a job come Monday evening?

    ReplyDelete
  153. Im not a big fan of the location. I go once in awhile but Id prefer if it was in Tampa...

    ReplyDelete
  154. Porn-Peddling Jef VinsonDecember 29, 2013 at 2:06 PM

    We have a big fanbase.

    ReplyDelete
  155. I'll dig through youtube and see if I can find it.

    ReplyDelete
  156. Porn-Peddling Jef VinsonDecember 29, 2013 at 2:07 PM

Shanahan should be grabbing some change of address forms.

    ReplyDelete
  157. Shanahan definitely. Rex probably. Hope Schwartz gets the ax but scheffter thinks he's safe

    ReplyDelete
  158. As a Redskins fan, I hope Shanahan loses a pink slip on a pole match today.

    ReplyDelete
  159. People for PA all flocked down to NC / SC when the jobs started opening up.

    ReplyDelete
  160. Jim Schwartz should be gone but the money owed to him keeps him in a job...

    ReplyDelete
  161. Well Myrtle Beach is made up of lie 75% people from other places... just always thought it was weird how the Steelers were the fans that accumulated the most.

    ReplyDelete
  162. I think Shanahan is already packed up.

    ReplyDelete
  163. Rex taking that mess of a roster to 8-8 probably buys him another season...

    ReplyDelete
  164. SC has one of the highest unemployment rates in the country

    ReplyDelete
  165. BMW opened a plant down here about 15 years ago. People from all over started coming down here

    ReplyDelete
  166. Remember in Week 3 when everyone was talking about how Rivera was getting canned?

    ReplyDelete
  167. I think his son even wants to see him fired...

    ReplyDelete
  168. All they need is a St. Louis upset, and they have homefield.

    ReplyDelete
  169. He's one dude I'd like to punch in the face. He just looks like such a little prick. Got a face you just want to slug

    ReplyDelete
  170. North Carolina at least, I have multiple family members who all moved down there for jobs. I'm originally from PA, the job situation is sad.

    ReplyDelete
  171. Wouldn't be awesome if his son was secretly throwing him under the bus and trying to set himself up for a job?

    ReplyDelete
  172. Porn-Peddling Jef VinsonDecember 29, 2013 at 2:09 PM

So..does that mean he DOES climb the pole to get the pink slip>

    ReplyDelete
  173. There is a Honda plant as well. Used to have to go there fairly often when I was with Dell

    ReplyDelete
  174. Yeah I'd give Rex another year. That team stinks, 8-8 is a miracle

    ReplyDelete
  175. It was also the same time where he stopped coaching with both hands around his neck.

    ReplyDelete
  176. He IS an asshole. And his coaching sucks so bad my section got a 'Fire Schwartz' chant to get halfway around Ford Field last week until they put some music on

    ReplyDelete
  177. Hey, they just won a division they had no business being in after Week 5. Why not them?

    ReplyDelete
  178. I lived in Pittsburgh (and also Butler) for a campaign for about 6 months... there were certainly areas that looked downtrodden. And now that i am thinking about it PA is one of the states I know numerous people from (that moved here) but a lot of it is either retirees or college students.

    ReplyDelete
  179. So if the Chargers beat the Chiefs who bother to show up they make the playoffs? The NFL is so random this year

    ReplyDelete
  180. Oh, right. I want the Cards to win now. That's why.

    ReplyDelete
  181. CAROLINA SIMPLY WANTED ATL TO THINK THEY HAD A CHANCE!

    ReplyDelete
  182. Hella tax breaks and no union. I wish we would move on from relying on plants and mills but old habits die hard.

There is a Boeing down your way too right? Or has that opened yet?

    ReplyDelete
  183. Steelers are in if SD lose.

    ReplyDelete
  184. I think on merit he deserves another year, especially after going 8-8. Those situations where you have coaches essentially working on 1 year deals never does much for me. I'd clean house and start over

    ReplyDelete
  185. I think that is in Charleston... not sure if it is open yet.

    ReplyDelete
  186. Seemed like he already was throwing him under the bus. I love it cause Ive always felt Shanny was an overrated douche...

    ReplyDelete
  187. The Lions are better off now than before him.

    ReplyDelete
  188. I don't know what would be a more random and crazy occurence. The Chargers lost to the Texans and the Raiders. And the Steelers were almost Jacksonville level bad the first month of the season. What a league.

    ReplyDelete
