BoD Daily Update

Undertaker Update
As of now, the plans are still for the Undertaker to wrestle Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania, with a detailed plan in place that will lead to the match starting at the Royal Rumble. However, there is talk that Lesnar's style is too physical for the Undertaker, who is really hurting right now. Because of that, there is talk that Sheamus might be his opponent at Mania and Undertaker himself as suggested Daniel Bryan as a possible opponent. There is also another concern about a Lesnar vs. Undertaker match as for the past several years, the Undertaker, in private, has secretly worked out and practiced his WrestleMania matches with his opponents and there is a question as to whether or not Lesnar would be willing to put in that much effort preparing for the match.

Kurt Angle Update

Angle's contract with TNA is set to expire this Summer.

Ultimate Warrior Having Involvement at WrestleMania?

It is expected that the Ultimate Warrior will be involved at WrestleMania in some aspect, most likely by getting selected for the Hall of Fame.

American Wolves Update

The Wolves (Davey Richards & Eddie Edwards) will not be offered a contract from the WWE. They were originally going to be at NXT on a short-term deal but HHH made the decision to not bring them back after their first television taping. Apparently, despite several people going to bat for the Wolves, HHH felt that the company already had numerous smaller guys that could go in the ring and are looking more towards trying to find bigger guys who could possibly headline WrestleMania five years down the road. There also was a story from their first match, when Richards landed on his head after a miscommunication on the behalf of Viktor of the Asencion, that the ref told them to go to the finish, under the orders from HHH, and that they waited a while before ending the match, presumably angering HHH.

  1. lol'd at: "Apparently, despite several people going to bat for the Wolves, HHH felt that the company already had numerous smaller guys that could go in the ring and are looking more towards trying to find bigger guys who could possibly headline WrestleMania five years down the road."

Because smaller guys like CM Punk and Daniel Bryan are clearly not capable of headlining WrestleManias. I'm not really defending the American Wolves because I don't like Davey Richards' style and don't find Eddie Edwards much better, but charisma almost always supersedes size.

    ReplyDelete
  2. OMG they only like big guys, HHH IS EEEVVILLL!!! Let's all hiss at him!! (This feels more like propaganda pieces than news reports at this point). I really just read them to mock them now.

    ReplyDelete
  3. Now it sounds like Bryan fans are worried about Bryan going into WM vs. Taker as a heel, but a face-face program can still be done. After Bryan turns on the Wyatts, he'll admit that while Bray was right about "the machine" being against him, he realizes that the only way he'll get the respect he deserves is if he does something major -- something like breaking Undertaker's streak. He'll challenge Taker, and Taker will accept because he respects Bryan's ability and wants to test himself against the Superstar of the Year. Nobody has to act like a heel; it's just one guy trying to prove himself vs. one guy with a legacy on the line.

    ReplyDelete
  4. I'd fully support that build up. I have a hard time accepting the idea he's going into WM as a heel

    ReplyDelete
  5. This Wolves snub makes little sense to me if Trips wants to revitalize tag team wrestling. You could build the division around these guys.

    ReplyDelete
  6. Warriors HOF speech is going to be great.

    ReplyDelete
  7. Two vanilla midgets that can't talk? Good luck.

    ReplyDelete
  8. Definitely, though it might not be that crazy. I saw a video of him around last year's WM, where he gave Vince tons of respect for making Mania such a huge event. (And I'm guessing this was before the hatched was buried). I don't think Warrior is as crazy as most people think.

    ReplyDelete
  9. i thought taker was tough as nails....

    ReplyDelete
  10. I always figured that Nailz was more of a blowhard than a legit tough guy.

    ReplyDelete
  11. My takeaways from the Diva gallery.

Debra never was an attractive woman.

Fake tits are still fairly obvious, and unattractive in most cases.

    ReplyDelete
  12. If it could be organised, I'd bring in Shelley and Sabin. I thought years ago that they could be built like an Edhe & Christian style team. They have a good luck, decent personalities and are great in-ring. If you want to build a tag division, they seem like a total cant-miss prospect to me.

    ReplyDelete
  13. Yeah, the guy who rambles endlessly and says "you can't make the world work by queering" is not crazy at all.

    ReplyDelete
  14. I am in awe of your rebelliousness.

    ReplyDelete
  15. You know what the whole problem with the Undertaker matches are? HE'S TOO OLD TO WRESTLE! Shit, they've gone through 50 rumored opponents of his and if he really needs time to plan out matches with his opponents, don't have him wrestle.

    ReplyDelete
  16. Richards isnt talented enough for the WWE to tolerate his bullshit.
Edwards is good though, although he wouldnt be any more over than Tyson Kidd or any other guy like that on the roster.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Surely he'd go off the rails with DESTRUCITY?!?!?!

    ReplyDelete
  18. I think this reads as HHH bringing them in to appease those who made the recommendation then finding out that he just doesn't want to bother with these guys at all and gave them the ax.
They do have guys like Kidd and Gabriel, who barely wrestle, and they have Zayn, Neville, Kalisto, and Crowe in developmental already so Richards and Edwards would have just been lost in the shuffle anyway.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Why doesn't Undertaker want to wrestle Cena? That is easily the biggest match he can do. Does he like throwing away money?

    ReplyDelete
  20. I'd say there is about a 10% chance that the WWE brings Angle back when his TNA deal expires. He is a big risk at this point.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Exactly. I like Edwards, quite a bit actually, but I don't think either of them bring anything new to the table. As you mentioned they have guys like that in NXT already and guys like Kidd who rarely gets on tv.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Man, if HHH thinks he's getting one over by trolling 1997-98 RSPW, he's going to be really mad in 5 years when people start hating on HHH being handed the Big Gold Belt by Uncle Eric

    ReplyDelete
  23. Yep, I just like the added part of "HHH would rather look for big guys to main event WM". Cue meltdown!

    ReplyDelete
  24. Maybe Taker thinks that Cena is kind of a douche?

    ReplyDelete
  25. Jeff and Matt Hardy say hello.

(Matt Hardy also says *munch munch*)

    ReplyDelete
  26. Size-wise, Shelley & Sabin make Edge & Christian look like The Powers of Pain. Not happening...

    ReplyDelete
  27. Well I know it's not a unanimous opinion, but in my book, he's reached 4 stars or higher for 7 WM's in a row. So I'm definitely fine with him doing his once a year appearance.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Jeff Hardy is six inches taller than Davey Richards.

    ReplyDelete
  29. I guess I'd never noticed due to everyone in TNA being small, but still, it's insane isn't it? CM Punk and Daniel Bryan are two of the most over three guys in the company. Now, Sabin and Shelley aren't as charismatic as them, but the point stands: time after time it's been proven that character and talent surpasses size. It's staggering that Vince and co. don't see that. Do they just put tapes of Vladimir Zozlov vs. Mason Ryan on Vince's screen whenever small guys are actually on Raw and tell him "Yeah, the crowd loves them!"

    ReplyDelete
  30. Look at Hardy in TNA, he is taller than 85% of the roster .

    ReplyDelete
  31. And Matt is five inches taller. Also, and this is key. The Hardyz, E&C and the Dudleys got over because of the Extreme Rules stuff. Constant putting people through tables, Constant crazy spots off of ladders. Also, Jeff and Edge were quite irresistible to the ladies

WWE doesn't let anyone come close to what they were doing anymore. and the wolves aren't so super sexay

    ReplyDelete
  32. Women will like what WWE tell them to like.

    ReplyDelete
  33. It's not just that the roster in TNA is smaller...the ring and the arenas are smaller, too. It all makes a difference from an optics standpoint.
Also, to be fair, it's not like Kozlov and Ryan are/were main event-level talents. I know Vince loves pushing guys like Ryback, but I think time has shown that only TALENTED big guys STAY in the main event (Brock, Batista, etc.). The bigger guy is always going to get the shot first, but, long-term, the cream truly does rise to the top.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Edwards is billed at 6 foot, so that helps him over Tyson Kidd with management.

    ReplyDelete
  35. I'm still shocked that Kozlov got a 100% clean pin over the Undertaker on a random SmackDown. One of the biggest "WTF?" moments ever.

    ReplyDelete
  36. chicks dig cauliflower ear

    ReplyDelete
  37. lol i was obv being fecitious (sp?) bout taker at his age, but cant forget bout good ol nailz. wasnt his story bossman put him in the joint and he was out for revenge?

    ReplyDelete
  38. id love to see kurt make one last wwe run. plus tna has talent ready to take over for him in the case of norv fernum!

    ReplyDelete
  39. Christ, how hard is Wrestlemania to book at this point? Cena/Taker, Batista/Lesnar (for the belt), and Bryan/H. You can do whatever you want with the rest of the show at that point.

    ReplyDelete
  40. umm how many times did he wrestle shawn michaels??

    ReplyDelete
  41. My girl likes Seth Rollins. She likes the more acrobatic, lucha style too. She loves the Mexican wrestlers because of all the flips. Shrugs. I can't fault her for liking Rollins.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Undertaker Update:

"Right now the plan is still for him to Wrestle Brock Lesnar... except that might not be the plan at all. We are going to report every possible scenario so we can't possibly be wrong because we were brought up in the "Self Esteem" generation and our egos are to fragile to handle failure of any kind."

    ReplyDelete
  64. The only thing I can think of is that Taker has given them a guarantee of say 3 or whatever more WMs and they have some grand story arch planned involving the 2 of them. Involving perhaps Cena being Takers last match, a Cena heel turn I'm a few years, or whatever.

I'm sure Undertaker gets a lot of of input in who he wrestles at Wrestlemania and has 'veto' power to some extent. That doesn't mean he gets to decide the entire Wrestlemania card or that title matches get rearranged just to satisfy him.

  141. Sable was someone that I looked and said "I can see why some people would be attracted to her" but she just didn't do much for me. She physically hit all the marks that people find attractive, and that I often find attractive - but I felt nothing. I think it's because she not only looked like a Barbie doll come to life, but she also had the personality of a Barbie doll. But I could at least see why some people dug her.

Debra was just someone and said - 'she's just not very attractive' and I just never go the appeal at all.

  152. I think the fans on this site are more pessimistic about the Bryan/Wyatt angle than most. A strikingly large majority of others I've either talked to in real life or whose opinions I've read on other sites are intrigued by the angle from Monday night and excited to see where it goes next week.

    ReplyDelete
  153. Yeah, I mean I know that it would be a pretty good match, and Cena is the one guy on the roster who you might have a question about 'will he end the streak'. Which may speak more to how overprotected Cena is more than anything else.
But I'm just sick of Cena and his character. Until they find a way to freshen up his shtick (which can be a heel turn but doesn't have to be one) or put him in more compelling situations, I just find myself not caring about anything he's involved in.

    ReplyDelete
  154. There are even some of us on this site that are optimistic about the Bryan/Wyatts angle. I'm actually looking forward to it.

    ReplyDelete
  155. The difference is Taker needs to plan them out to hide what he is physically incapable of doing now. Not because he wants perfection.

    ReplyDelete
  156. Thing is, its getting harder and harder for him to have matches that are more than smoke and mirrors to get a good match. HBK matches were classic and I wish those were the last matches of his career. Punk match was fine, but there isn't a lot more Taker can do to have a good match given his age/injuries

    ReplyDelete
  157. Yep. The speculation is actually very simple. Is he really "All In" with the Wyatts? Or is he setting them up? If he is truly a member, is there a chance the fans can change his mind, or is it too late? Etc etc.

    ReplyDelete
  160. Meh, I'll keep giving him the benefit of the doubt until the quality of his matches goes way down. Taker's great at telling a story in the ring, even if he's not at 100%.

    ReplyDelete
  161. But we know that day is coming, why do we want to keep running Undertaker out in a 20 minute match only to have it stink up the place? I'd rather him go out on a good match instead of a WM stinker that is his last match.

    ReplyDelete
  162. On the wolves, I kinda wish the 'E would do this more- if you're not going to use them, don't bother signing them. Edwards can make more cash in the indies than in developmental hell, same for davey if he weren't such an advocate of lighting bridges on fire. I'd rather they actually get into the big time to make some more serious cash, but this is better than just hanging out with El Generico in Florida.

that sound you just heard was scott moaning during his massive orgasm over this news:

    http://www.411mania.com/wrestling/news/308736/Could-the-Dwayne-%5C%27The-Rock-Johnson-be-The-Next-Green-Lantern?.htm

According to Pwinsider.com, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson has teases a project with DC Comics and Warner Bros. The big rumors is that he has had discussions with Warner Bros. to play the role of Green Lantern John Stewart, a member of the Green Lantern Corps and the Justice League of America.

There has been no confirmation at this time, but there has been rumors of both a Green Lantern reboot and the possibility of Lantern being used in the Batman vs. Superman film. Both times, the John Stewart version of the Green Lantern has been rumored.

  172. The Rock has now been tied to Black Adam and Green Lantern John Stewart. Here's hoping for Blue Beetle and Red Tornado, too.

I'm not sure how I feel about that casting, so long as they don't figure that he should be turned into Doomsday.

    ReplyDelete
  174. I don't see what match they could have for Cena that's bigger than Cena vs Undertaker. Cena vs Undertaker would easily bring in the highest buyrate out of any of the matches WWE could do with their current roster. That is, unless they can somehow pull off Cena vs Hogan, which is very doubtful. Undertaker probably doesn't have much longer he can wrestle, so I'm kind of shocked they don't want to cash out on Undertaker vs Cena now while they still can.

they had armageddon '99 on 24/7 last month, and she was one of the participants in whatever "pool full of something" match they had. i checked to see how they handled miss kitty's itty bitty shitty titties, and they blurred them. but back when it happened, to borrow from beavis: "bare boobs on tv!!!"

  177. It doesn't matter what shape he is in. If Vince can make money off him Angle will be back. Vince would sign anyone he can if there is money to be made. I can see Jeff Hardy back one day as well. Vince doesn't care about the wrestlers, just the all might dollar.

  184. Looks like Angle has changed his tune - can't wait to see him back in WWE in some capacity.

    ReplyDelete
  185. Cena has no problem with jobbing. and the WWE has no problem in letting Cena do the job against huge stars (or guys they think will be huge stars).

    ReplyDelete
  186. Styles, Sting, Hardy, Jarrett, Angle all could be gone by the end of 2014 from TNA. Wow.

    ReplyDelete
  187. just a bad: Taker getting pinned by Khali with one foot on his chest. wtf?!

    ReplyDelete
  188. I can't imagine Undertaker being unable to call it in the ring. It just doesn't add up.

    ReplyDelete
  189. He released the guy because he was high risk. I don't find it hard to believe that he wouldn't hire him back, considering his current condition and arrest record.

    ReplyDelete
  190. So far we've seen plans for Lesnar/Taker, Bryan/Taker and Sheamus/Taker. Of those three, I'd rather see Bryan vs. Taker because I think it would produce the best match. Lesnar should wrestle someone he hasn't before like Batista heck or even challenge Orton for the WWE title.

    ReplyDelete
  191. Angle left on bad terms and has substance abuse issues. Plus, he is 45 and in bad shape physically. Most of all, there isnt much money to made with Angle

    ReplyDelete
  192. If they promote giving Warrior a live mic at Mania with Hogan also appearing, I'd buy the PPV.

    ReplyDelete
  193. I agree with all that. I just am disagreeing with the way you suggested that it's Undertaker alone who is preventing it.
